After Buhari's Intervention, APC Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun Declares Support For Bola Tinubu's Reconciliation Assignment

At the back of the recent fallout between the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) John Odigie-Oyegun and APC Kingpin, Bola Tinubu and the subsequent intervention by President Muhammadu Buhari, Oyegun has declared his support to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has dropped any thing which may frustrate the later’s reconciliation assignment.

Mr. Tinubu had in a letter to Mr. Oyegun expressed concerns that his “presidential assignment” of reconciling members of the party was being sabotaged by Mr. Odigie-Oyegun. "Instead of being a bulwark of support as promised, you positioned yourself in active opposition to the goal of resuscitating the progressive and democratic nature of APC,” Mr. Tinubu said in the letter copied President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the party.

Mr. Odigie-Oyegun has, however, rejected that assertion, in his response obtained by Premium Times News.

However, rather than address the specific allegations by Mr. Tinubu, the party chairman simply pledged his support for the ex-Lagos governor’s reconciliation efforts.

The letter reads;

“I thank you for your letter dated February 21, 2018, for your prayers and good wishes for my health. I wish you the same and pray that our good God keeps you strong and grants you His peace,” Mr. Odigie-Oyegun wrote in the letter dated February 23.

“Let me once again formally congratulate you on the peacemaking assignment Mr. President has entrusted you with. "It is most challenging but I believe you will ultimately justify the confidence reposed in you by Mr President. In this, you have my fullest support.”

Copies of Mr. Odigie-Oyegun’s letter were sent to Mr. Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara, all of whom Mr. Tinubu also copied in his letter.

Nollywood actor, Junior Pope has been making headlines recently and not in a good way. Though they say bad publicity is good publicity but some bad publicity sticks and that may not be good for business at the long run.

Though he is married, but a lady professed her love for him online via Instagram, showcasing the tattoo she tattooed on her body. She even tattooed Junior Pope on her body as she professed undying love for her whilst admitting knowing he is married.

This time around, the actor is in the news again as he made a very controversial statement. Pope Obumneme Odonwodo popularly called pope junior voiced his thought towards the movie industry.

Speaking on an interview, the actor said;

“Honestly, with the kind of life in Nollywood, you wouldn’t want to marry, thinking you still have time for worldly enjoyment. I always tell people that the devil is the king of Nollywood, because of the atrocities being committed in the industry. It is in Nollywood you see high level of gays and lesbians. There is no kind of evil you wouldn’t see in the industry.”

Pope junior has won many accolades including most promising Nollywood actor of the year by entertainment factory in 2010. He got married in 2014 to Jennifer Awele Okpuno and they are blessed with 2 sons.

No Nigeria Actor/Actress Is Good Enough To Feature In The Movie "Black Panther" - Gay Activist, Bisi Alimi

The Nigeria HIV positive LGBT activist, Ashiwaju Bisi Alimi have blasted Nigerian actors and actresses as well as Nigerians citizens for saying why won't there be a Nigeria actor in the latest movie "Black Panther" which clearly speaks about Africans.

Bisi Alimi said and I quote "The idea that their should have been a Nigerians actor in Black Panther is ludicrous. I am going to say this, as a matter of fact, there is no actor (male or female) in Nigeria that can act at such quality.

Black Panther was not about "screaming and shouting", it was about "acting" and those are not the same thing. And don't get me started at Nnaji (Genevieve Nnaji), she cannot act.

According to him;

Te industry can be better, but they also need to know and accept they are rubbish at the moment and then go for training, I mean like quality training. In a country that gave us Nollywood to think we don’t have a specialist drama school? It’s sad.

Former Catholic Priest, Rev. Patrick Edet Is Getting Married, Months After Resignation


According to NewTelegraph, former Roman Catholic Priest, Rev. Patrick Edet is tying the knot on March 17, 2018. Reportedly, his fiancée will be revealed next week.

Recall that the former Rev. announced his resignation on air through his weekly live radio programme called Grace and Inspiration. In his words:

“From today Henceforth, I cease to be a Catholic Priest in my spirit and in my soul. "I forgive those who will criticize me. I live for God…I seek freedom for my soul. As I leave, I leave smiling, I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM FREE.”

Edet said it took a lot of praying and fasting that lasted for seven-month to make this decision.

Church Allegedly Refuses To Refund Tithe Payer Who Mistakenly Paid N111,000 Instead of N11,000 - Freeze

Trouble in the paradise. A Pentecostal Church have allegedly refused to payback a tithe a member mistakenly paid to the Church. It was gathered that the said member wanted to pay the sum of N11,000 (Eleven Thousand Naira) but mistakenly paid N111,000 (One Hundred and Eleven Thousand Naira).

Does it mean the tithe account is domiciled in heaven or is with God himself that the church cannot repay the amount to their member? This is outrageous and appalling. The church member alleged that the church refused to refund his balance after he informed the church about the error.

OAP, Daddy Freeze known for his critics on tithes and offerings issues has shared an audio clip alleging that a Nigerian church refused to refund a member who paid the wrong amount as tithe into the church’s account.

The #FreeTheNation founder who shared the clip on his Instagram page stated that the church member paid a sum of one hundred and eleven thousand naira into the church’s account instead of eleven thousand naira. Freeze claimed that the church refused to prefund the member who called their attention to the error asking for a refund of his balance. According to Freeze, the church told the tithe payer that the money was given to God.

In Daddy Freeze words;

“The money loving deity the Pentecostals worship! Kenneth called me this morning rather distraught. He said that he paid 111,000 into his church account instead of 11,000 and the church has refused to refund him the balance saying the money was given to God!. ”

In the audio clip, the tithe payer could be heard saying that the money was given to him by someone who asked him to do a job for him.

PDP Blast APC & Lai Muhammed - You Cannot Sensor The Media "Its Called Freedom Of Speech"

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP says the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, cannot censor the media to downplay the failures of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration. The truth is, the administration have failed and trying so hard to censor the media.

The party said APC's attempt to gag the media is pathetic, as no amount of censorship or bandying of false figures would stop Nigerians from reflecting on the real state of affairs in our country today. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Thursday, described as scandalous that the Federal Government is attempting to slander the media and sway it with cooked-up figures, forgetting that media practitioners are also Nigerians, who are direct witnesses and victims of the woes of the APC as a party.

The statement reads;

Nigerians were shocked to watch the Minister of Information attempting to censor the media and sell unverifiable statistics to the media when a TV Continental (TVC) team visited his office on Tuesday.
We hope the minister saw the faces of his audience as he was reeling out his faulty statistics.

Nigerians know that the APC has failed and that the Buhari-led Presidency is directly responsible for the collapse of our economy, which was thriving under the PDP.

They know that the torrents started buffeting the nation from May 29, 2015 and no amount of propaganda and futile efforts to censor the media by the APC will change the facts.

While we note the minister’s snap that the media should contextualize their reporting, we ask; how else should the media contextualize the sudden collapse of the economy with the naira tumbling from N197/I USD in 2015 when PDP handed over power, to N360-N400/1USD, without placing the blame at the door steps of President Muhammadu Buhari and his dysfunctional APC?

How else should the media contextualize the fact that under the Buhari Government, over 8 million Nigerians lost their jobs between 2016 to 2017; 16 million were unemployed, 18 million more were underemployed, while another 27.44 million refused to work in 2016 for various reasons related to frustration in the polity?
How should the media contextualize the soaring costs of food, the rise in inflation rate from the N13.7% in May 2015 to the current 15.37%; the rise in fuel price from N86.50 under the PDP to N300-N400 per liter under the APC; the escalating of our foreign debt to $15.2bn, representing a 40% increase under President Buhari’s three years in office in addition to the pile-up of domestic debt which has scared away many contractors off their sites?

How would the APC want the media to contextualize the slaughtering of Nigerians in various parts of the country by marauders while its Federal Government refused to take any concrete steps to bring the perpetrators to book?

Sadly, instead of the APC to be sober and remorseful for its failures and seek help from well-meaning Nigerians, it is busy reeling out false indices while monitoring phone calls of journalists and other Nigerians under the guise of fight against hate speech.
In all, the facts speak for themselves, the APC has wrecked our nation and its resort to propaganda and false indices will not help as Nigerians are now rallied with the repositioned PDP, ahead of the 2019 general elections, to rescue and return the prosperous days when our citizens once held their heads tall among other citizens of the world.

They say desperate times deserve desperate measures but I think this woman have really over done the desperateness of the situation. Has it really gotten to this?

The photo above has gone viral already on the social media and people can't just stop talking about it. The picture depicts a desperate woman, in an attempt to force her husband to quite smoking, built a cage for his head and locked it with a key she is only in possession of.

Reports has it that she only opens the husband's head anytime he wants to eat. This is indeed the height of desperateness and is sickening to me.

Craziness everywhere

The All Progressive Congress, APC faction in Kaduna state has suspended the governor of the state, Nasir el-Rufai, for six months according to a report by Daily Post.

The governor’s suspension came just three days after the faction, known as Kaduna Restoration Group, issued him a query and suspended three of his aides. The party faction led by the Senator representing Kaduna North Central, Suleiman Hunkuyi, had accused El-Rufai of “anti- party activities and anti-human activities.

The Senator said if El-Rufai did not respond to the query within 48 hours, “the state working committee will sit down and deliberate.” But in a statement on Sunday, the faction said the governor refused to honour the invitation to defend himself over the allegations levelled against him. They therefore resolved to suspend him for six months with immediate effect.

The statement reads;

“Sequel to the 48 hours ultimatum issued to the Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir Ahmad Elrufa’i by the Kaduna state working committee of the APC to give explanations and defence on the allegations labelled against him, the SWC under chairmanship of S.I. Danladi Wada on Saturday 17th February 2018 convened, resolved and do consider and ratified the findings and recommendations of the Disciplinary and Fact Finding Committee put before it in accordance with Article 21 (B) (iii) of the APC Constitution, to the effect that having the governor failed to respond accordingly, he stands suspended for a period of 6 months from the APC with immediate effect.”

Controversial actress, Lydia Forson, has chantted Ebony’s hit tack, “Date Your Father” in a Twitter banter with one of her “disrespectful” fan.

The actress was engaged in a nasty confrontation with a police officer last Sunday after the latter prevented her from taking pictures. A man with the name Ba4 on twitter, suggested that the officer should have beaten the actress to pulp.

The fan tweeted;

“Just don’t take pictures is that too much to ask? If it were me I will beat you to pulp with I know my rights thing. You will soon be 40 with no husband or a child ooo. Be humble and submissive kakra,” he tweeted.

However, Lydia Forson, a strong advocate for feminism, hit back with the most hilarious clap back I have ever seen. According to her;

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Sen. Shehu Sani has attacked the Federal Government over the social media monitoring order issued two days ago.

Recall that 2 days ago, the Federal Government issued an order to state security to monitor the social media post of prominent Nigerians and to prosecute if necessary. The order was given after ex president released a berating later to Buhari and APC administration, urging him to desist from contesting in 2019.

Sen. Shehu Sani reacted via his Twitter;

If the energy, resources and time that will be dispensed in monitoring the social media labyrinth by the state security apparatus, will be deployed in targeting and tracking kidnappers, militiamen, Terrorists, Herdsmen, Bandits and Human traffickers, we will be safer.

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Nasarawa State chapter has berated former President, chief Olusegun Obasanjo over his statement on the state of the nation.

Obasanjo, who lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari over his gross incompetent to superintend over the affairs of the country, had advised the president against seeking re-election in 2019.

Reacting, MACBAN urged Buhari to ignore the advice of the former President, stressing that Obasanjo was out to replace Buhari with his “cronies.”

Addressing journalists yesterday in Lafia, the state capital, State Chairman of MACBAN, Muhammed Hussaini said Obasanjo had always wanted to control a sitting president.

Hussaini noted that when the former president was unable to control Buhari, he opted to turn against him.

According to Hussaini, “Obasanjo wants to install one of his cronies to be the next President of Nigeria; someone he will be controlling from his bedroom.

“Obasanjo brought Jonathan alongside late President Umaru Yar’adua with the intention to remote-control them and after the demise of Yar’adua, Jonathan defied Obasanjo’s unnecessary interference in his government and he turned against him.”

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce, Deji Tinubu slumped and died.

According to reports on Vanguard News, Deji, who was the former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, died late on Thursday during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos State.

At the recent Cabinet reshuffle by Ambode, he was redeployed to Commerce and Industry as Special Adviser before his death. Tinubu was the Chairman, Lagos Sports Commission and Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports.

He was later made the Special Adviser on Sports alone after the sports commission chairman was given to another person by Ambode. Tinubu was also the Director General, Lagos Sports Commission during the former Governor Babatunde Fashola’s tenure.

He was said to be playing football with other members of the State Executive Council after the end of the second day of the ongoing Retreat for Permanent Secretaries, directors and executives members late Thursday in Epe when he slumped and died.

Some sources said he suddenly shouted during the football match and then slumped and died.
