@ op, I am above the age you stated but I can understand your fears. The problem is that many youths don't have inquisitive minds. The mind to learn new things always. Many relaxed after graduating from the high institution. Today, we hear things like Fx, cloud, crypto, AI, web dev, digital marketing and many of such things but a lot of people don't know what they are or care to know. This is the problem. Try to acquire a new knowledge at every opportunity. They will make the difference you need in your life. Don't think that it is for them or that it is for specific persons or not important. Today they talk of AI, well somebody like me will not rest until I know what AI is all about and whether it something I will be interested in. So my advice is for the youths to be very inquisitive, always find time to learn a new thing. One simple knowledge can make the difference you never think of. |
angelboy01:Okay, if the North withdraw 50% of the over 4 million votes they gave to Tinubu, where do you think that Tinubu will replace it from to win. |
Love800:They are not part of import duty. Import duty is collected by Customs. These ones are mainly services of private sector. Some of them are paid in foreign currency. This is the real thing. Tinubu is not ready to solve the hunger issues. |
When I said that removing import duty on rice would not have any effect on the price as the economy is now, some people were quoting to disagree with me. This is the same thing that is happening now to flour. Unfloating the Naira is the only thing that would make an impact on the Nigerian economy right now. Not all these cut and join policies. |
Solseal007:Selling cars is a different ball game. Let's say the price of an item is 500 Naira. Then Tinubu policy pushed it to 2000 Naira. Then when it came to 1800 you celebrate that the price has come down. This is the kind of thing we see in the country now. But tell me how much you think a bag of rice would sell under this policy. |
There is nothing to rejoice for yet because this will have very little or no impact on the prices of food. The Import duty being removed is one out of over 20 other dues paid on imports, Cost, insurance, freight, Ecowas levy, surcharge, Vat, shipping, terminal, handling etc. With the exchange rate and transportation costs, every thing is equal to square one. Tinubu has to unfloat the Naira for the economy to to be impacted. |
nurey:But we have to talk about the root of the problem first. Or are you pretending not to know that those hoodlums abi Agbero are organs of Lagos state Government which they pampers and use during elections and protests. |
YoungBlackRico:I can bet you any amount that you haven't traveled to any state in the East. I saw beggars for the first time when I came to Lagos. Then in the North, it was full-time occupation for both the able and disabled. So say something else yourself. |
YoungBlackRico:I can bet you any amount that you haven't traveled to any state in the East. I saw beggars for the first time when I came to Lagos. Then in the North, it was full-time occupation for both the able and disabled. So say something else yourself. |
YoungBlackRico:They say travel and see instead you here writing nonsense. |
Orlu13:Mr man, what do you want to argue again or you just like arguments and the claim of being the wisest Nigerian. Are you arguing that no money was given or that the money given was for payment of services rendered. As the self acclaimed wisest man who unfortunately live among dumb people tell us what to call it. |
Orlu13:It is called grace. When they tell you that God work in mysterious ways, don't doubt. |
There are lots of contradictions in this proposed bill. It will not see the light at the end of the day. The sponsor came very late to the market. He should go and check the provisions of the Nigeria constitution and African charter on human and peoples rights. |
When were in Unilag, the Federal Government awarded Scholarships to 20 South Africans boys. They were to study various courses in Unilag. All of them were very timid and raw, just like the Almajiris. They could not cope. After one semester, all of them were withdrawn back to South African. This was my first encounter with South Africans. They are not like Nigerians in any way . A Nigerian can come to their country and fight to become somebody, but they cannot do same in another country, this is why the hatred. |
FreeSpirited:You made a very valid point which many do not notice. WAEC is a sham. Those people still release answers to WAEC questions on the Internet some hours before the exams take off. WAEC has denied involvement but the act did not stop. |
GreatVocalist:I can get your point. But what we are discussing here is how a South African used a video he did not understand to blackmail Nigerians. I am not defending crime, but Nigerians practice their criminal activities in countries that are crime minded. You cannot carry successfully crimes in a country without internal connivance. In Nigeria here foreigners commit economic crimes with the support of Nigerians. Because we are involved, it is not reported. Even when reported, they find their way out because it is in us. We don't blame the foreigners either. South Africa is about drugs, killings, rape , homicide etc. They should not blame Nigerians for the rut in their society. The Arabs are known for wars. You can hire an Arab to fight your war, the same way you can attract Nigeria for your criminal activities. |
GreatVocalist:I don't buy your ideas. Crime is part of humanity. No society is free from it. It is everywhere. They were highlighting the ones committed by Nigerians, as if the South African society is free of crime without Nigerians. South Africa is the most volatile nation in Africa. The crave for drugs and it must be supplied whether by Nigerians or other nationals. Do they blame themselves for cravings for drugs, no. Crime have consequences, whoever engage in it knows the consequences. South Africa should blame the root of their problems not going to the extent of adopting a video that was done in different language and giving it another meaning. Can you imagine the level of desperation. |
Election in Nigeria will continue to be a scam except INEC stop this system of ward, LG, and States collation. These are where the problem is and not in the PVC. If the Electoral Act is not amended to abolish these processes, then forget about election in Nigeria. I believe that this was why electronic transmission of votes was added in the Electoral Act but INEC and the Court gave it different interpretation. Collation of results must be done in one central place in the presence of all after transmission from the polling units. IREV must be configured to collate results it receives. Then to discourage ballot boxes snatching and destruction of ballot papers that was massively done in Lagos in the last election, the Law must stop INEC from declaring any result until all the results from all the polling units in the constituency are imputed in the collation. The idea of saying " not substantial" is the rigging. I witnessed a lot of people crying in Lagos as their ballots papers were being destroyed by political thugs. At the end we pretend like nothing happened and go for another election. Then you tell us our PVC and votes matters. How can INEC declare a result when the results from as many as 10,000 polling units are not accounted for. How can INEC declare a result from a State 3 days after an election without reconciling it with any other sources and we accept it. We are just fooling ourselves in this country and believing that things will change. Those from Mars will come and change it for us. A country of jokers indeed. |

The basic duty of the government is to manage the economy for the benefit of the citizens. The government weighs every action they want to take and consider the effect on all sides. But today, we have a government that based on tribe and religion , it is our turn. I must fulfill my life ambition. Tinubu did not put up any serious campaigns, no promises were made. Just joking and releasing jokes at every campaign ground. They elected him based on that and he continues with the joke on the very day of inauguration. Acting without considering the effect on the economy. It is very pathetic. His body language says it all. Things will continue to get worse. |
GreatVocalist:What is your point? The video was made in Nigeria here and posted online. A south African saw it and twist it for mischievous purposes. So whom are you blaming now? |
Meteng:That's the problem and the confusion. In advance counties just with a bone, blood , spit , hair or even a clothing materials, they will identify the person within some hours. All these techs have been developed over the years.. One still wonder why Nigerian security are not adopting them. We still don't know the use of NIN , BVN, Sim reg and other such data they collect every now and then.. Very pathetic. |
This is an irrelevant analysis. The op thinks that Tinubu is ruling animals that has no thought of their. Tinubu should be prepared to buy votes at more than ten thousand Naira each. This is his only chance and strategy. The hunger in the country is going to get worse by that 2027. Even the few supporters he has now will abandon him by then. More money for bribery and buying votes are the only workable strategy for him. |
oluadeez:okay, you get it |
ProphetAmos:okay. |
NSK4U:You missed the point. Igbos are not homogeneous in thinking. Igbos don't follow the other. No tribe assert individualistic thinking than the Igbos. But they were united in 2023 election because, they supported OBJ from South West and GEJ from South South. Now check it, OBJ ruled for 8 years. And Osibanjo from the same South West acted as VP for 8 years. And now that power came to south, you expect the South East to vote another South West person again. That is the cheating that is causing the problem. Afenifere and many Yoruba with conscience said that it was the turn of the South East. But Tinubu and his gang said over their dead body. Now the Igbos have decided to give him a chance to do as he likes. We are not protesting against him. It is not because some politicians say don't protest. In Igboland, we have a saying that if your own hunger is the greatest, then you should be allowed to eat the greatest food. So Tinubu said his own hunger is the greatest, no protest, he should eat the greatest food in peace. This is the stand of the Igbos. |
If all INEC could offer Nigerians is 3 days after an election, someone will bring a piece of paper as the result from his State, then INEC announced it without cross checking it with any other sources then we are all fools in this country. I also blame political parties and individuals who participate in an election under this kind of arrangement. They are all fools. INEC should specify how they wish to conduct the election. If people are satisfied, then they will participate. In 2023, INEC gave directions on how they would conduct the election. Many people were impressed and participated. At the end INEC did a different thing and tell us to go to court. The court supported them. In the next election , Nigerians will not accept such rubbish from any institution be it court or INEC. Tell us what you want to do and follow it to the letters. |
This man is 100% right. I thought that someone like Gbajabiamila will give the old man the stability and support he needed to govern, but this is not happening. Gbajabiamila seem to be minding his own business, very disconnected from what is happening in the country. I have been thinking about this for some time now. If Tinubu is not reading what people are saying and suggesting, what about him. |
Ecbatana:This is exactly what happened and the root cause of the suffering in the land. |
Inosky:Click the link in my write up. you will get the full report. But if the link didn't go through, then drop your email or Whatsapp let me send it there for you. |
Juanmike:People are dying under your watch and you call it having ball. Having ball is cornering the wealth of the nation to yourself and cronies. Having ball is not listening to the crying of the people. I personally will not have this kind of greedy ball. The problem is many people don't understand what is happening in the country now and what is going to happen ahead. But let's keep watching. |
The issue is what exactly is he going to do to make things good for Nigeria. He has withdrawn all kinds of subsidy that people get from the government and impose high tax everywhere. The people are now facing the harsh realities of living without government subsidies but high tax from all angles. So what is the big deal again? They ask you to restore some of the subsidy, you said over your dead body. Now you are making empty promises to show that you don't even understand what you are doing. |
