well, i really do not know if it played out eventually, but yes some union members were against the EH cadre sighting their obvious but childish grievances that someone who didnt go through the ranks cannot come and top the ones who started from scratch...i was speaking to one of the union vice chairman in a subsidiary and he said and i quote " the EHs in the past killed the system" i regretted that day trying to get any info from him
NB this discussion was even before the GTs got their employment when they were already claimimg the EHs have been cancelled...

Good evening guys...happy new year...there's this body shop guy who I spoke with recently....he has a relationship with a top management staff in GHR...We actually wrote the CBT together,I asked him if there's any headway based on what he knows..he told me go ask GMD,na ein hand e dey....others will tell you just pray...guys those of us who still believe the process is ongoing should not lose hope,those who don't believe,you have done nothing wrong..infact you have all the rights to your opinion...

MPE is out also..both were released as the GMD promised during their Town hall meeting...

In answering the question on the casual staff he said everyone cannot be converted,he mentioned there's an ongoing process and said he is aware of all the media comments as regards the EH..

Good evening all..I trust you guys are okay...even if it seems the twitter acct handlers are deliberately ignoring the bombardments,we know they are seeing it...that said..my senior friends wife spoke with me today and said where they are about 60 GTs are already doing documentations and when she asked one of the HR ogas about the EH because she had me in mind,he said surely they would visit that aspect after the GTs have been settled, I had to ask her to be double sure if she mentioned EH to him and she was affirmative..she went on to give her own speculation of January/Feb..I thanked her.so I think we should observe and see what comes out from this IOR and MPE guys as I heard theirs will be done and dusted in 2 weeks...we hope,we move.... blessings guys...

No date fixed yet as you are aware some staffs didn't write the test because of poor network connection in their area so those ones will first complete their own test before a date is fixed for the interview..

When people failed this exams like 2 years ago,it was outright retirement,but the union fought against it...will that happen now again well I really don't know,because some that wrote the exams the IOR guys haven't got to their actual time of promotion..my thoughts too

What I heard o: a fellow EH applicant friend called a staff who replied him that they are writing their exams presently. The plan is that those who pass will be promoted and some who don’t would pay paid off/retired, and that the EH Recruitment is still on.

My extrapolation is this: the recruitment is still on, but EH may be called much later, as a lot of processes and structuring of the corporation will take time. So, I will put my mind for next year. Just my thoughts o.

That's where the problem now lies...will there be transparency? My friend that wrote this exam said the results are out,then I remembered when I wrote NDDC Scholarship exams immediately I clicked submit my scores came out,so it's possible

Let me make a submission here....

MPE guys were already preparing for their promotion exams before the lockdown..i.e those on SS1 due for promotion to M6...

IOR guys are the ones who just entered SS1 and those who had already done up to 2 years on SS2..

This is an indication that as these guys move up the ladder to fill up management positions,the lower grades are vacant the newbies (GTs) can only fill up the SS6 positions after their training...meaning some positions on SS5-SS1 are vacant..spirits won't fill them I suppose...there was already rumours that the advertised positions for management during the recruitment won't work again,and I was told by a staff that this IOR was to augment for that...it won't be fair for someone outside the industry to come and boss over those who have been in the system from scratch was the argument put forward by some agitated staffs..you can imagine the badbelle most staffs would have been carrying for people like the former COO upstream who later resigned as COO business and ventures that entered the corporation in 2015 and rose that high...

In conclusion let's wait for the final outcome of this recently concluded exercise...some failed though as I was told,because their results are out and those guys will certainly remain in their position...

People get infos differently,and anyone who deem it fit to wether correct or incorrect at this stage probably does it for one purpose which is to keep hope alive for those that need it..that you do do not know the dates of the exams are starting doesn't mean others don't..
A friend of mine writing told me he's hopefully writing second week of September,I heard some are writing first week of September hence my saying the exams will likely next week which was last week the end of August when I posted that..I will also still find out if the dates haven't changed..we are in Nigeria and nothing is fixed until it's actually done..most of us experienced it during school,your first timetable for exams is revised up to 2 times...

Defending something that isn't ok to feel ok with the situation. We have been hearing abt internal alignment since Feb. and no date has been set, does it sound ok? Some people even wanted us to believe that the process would've been concluded in May, if not for Covid. Sometimes the problem is not asking the right questions or not asking questions at all becos we think we have the answers (True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing).
The truth is that they shouldn't b putting us through this and somehow you feel ok with it even making up excuses for them.

Oh really, i heard for M6 positions but not M5 (apologies @Kachi77)..... Going by this initiative, it almost seems they do not intend to hire Managers as advertised.

The exams should be starting by next week...could run for 2 weeks as they are much writing...

Well until this exams are written and the successful staffs fills the available positions and frees up space I really don't think anything will be done regarding the EH category....the idea of the realignment is for internal positions available be filled by staffs and there are 2 categories
1. The ones preparing for the management promotion exams before
2. The just promoted SS1s that have the relevant qualifications who were asked to apply

We should expect notifications any time too. However, the difference lies in the fact that there were multiple information which suggested that the process was alive.

There is a draught of information here at this time, this may suggest a pause in the process; there is no way something will be happening in the towers without "our radar" picking up signals.

I think human resources involves projections of staff strength over a certain period of time considering retirement, promotions, resignations and other stuff.

Before recruitment is done, I believe that the number of vacant positions should be determined (based on projections or otherwise.)

To be Frank, we are not sure that EH will be concluded b4 the end of the year. The month of May came and went, July the same, now we are hoping by September... Hope it ends by Sept, becos my fear is after October, we will start hearing things like, they are done for the year...

How do they expect us to know abt the internal alignment? All I know is, they are taking a long time

Good morning everyone,I trust our day is going on well...just a quick information I got this morning...I called my senior friend who is a staff to just say hello,after pleasantries and me wanting to drop the call,he said nothing yet from that side oo,I didn't even ask him he now said the only thing now is that most of them on SS1 have been told to come and write exams for promotion and they have submitted their applications and relevant documents,I asked 2 questions

1. Any date for the exams?
Ans: No
2. No more chief officers course?
Ans: they cancelled it..(probably for now)

This means that both the ones that have been attending the chief officers course and the recently promoted guys to SS1 are going to write the exams...

Implications: as many that passes will move up,so there would be corresponding movement across paving way for EHs..so the realignment is ongoing legit..we just have to be more prayerful,hopeful,and patient....God bless you all...have a wonderful weekend

There's what you call secondment... probably for new intakes it might be hard,but LNG if you don't know is like a joint venture of about 5 coys NNPC being one,so you actually have staffs of those 5 companies working in nlng..for instance Alh Mai bornu former MD of Npdc was seconded o nlng as the Deputy managing director after his tenure in NPDC ended,and he's an Nnpc staff...

If you know how nlng runs it's business then you will know nnpc cannot employ people for nlng's project. Like they cant conduct or have not been conducting recruitment exercises to meet their manpower needs.

You know I have always had a feeling that some of the EHs will be seconded to that train 7 project..it's been on my mind for a couple of months now...Just a wild guess tho.
