PoliticsRe: ACN & CPC Accuse PDP of floating Another APC by Eziachi: 6:46pm On Mar 11, 2013
Afam4eva: Probably. But APC are to be blamed for not doing the needful.
What are they suppose to do than to submit their application and then wait? If for some reason INEC then comes out and tell them, that they are not the only one with such name asking for registration, and the other party met their criterial first. I can see such a scenario happening.
PoliticsRe: ACN & CPC Accuse PDP of floating Another APC by Eziachi: 6:41pm On Mar 11, 2013
If the alleged allegation if true (a big if), then, you don't need to be a genius to know that PDP is directly/indirectly behind it. Its the sort of thing they will do, for sure.
But they may be playing into the hand of the likes of Lai Mohammed, who in my personal opinion, thinks that a PR guru, as it will backfire totally.

You need to check out Amaifeke and Nkwerre, Isunjaba or Aronsizuogu and witness how mansions normally found in Florida are competing with each other for space. They make mine look something from the stone age, I had to knock it down and start again. grin grin grin

I seriously love Rangers. Rangers was the tonic we Biafrans use to forget the impact of the war in those days. God!, they did us all proud, despite all the odd.
I use to travel all the way from England to watch all Rangers cup final in the 70s and early 80s. Though I am from what they call Imo now but its Rangers or nothing else.

TheBookWorm: I am highly disturbed by this "born to rule" mentality that seems to be prevalent in the North.

No one has yet to articulate a reason why a Northern politician should be a presidential nominee for any party. They have not earned that right.

APC should not be taken serious if they do not have Governor Fashola as the flag bearer. It is simply an insult to Governor Fashola, Oshiomhole and Okorocha to be "tipped" as VP nominees.

It is either Governor Fashola aka "Eko oni baje o!" or President Jonathan.
Very good point.

Rossikk: To be honest you have to wonder at the very audacity of a situation where one Nigerian can just ''OWN'' an oil block worth billions of dollars. Someone like Danjuma, purely based on his being a former military officer, owns an oil block worth untold billions. That's got to change.
And who is going to change it? Jonathan? Dream on.
I thought Danjuma is one if his selected wise men?

funshint: It will be suicidal 4 Rochas to vie as Vice-president because he has not fully consolidated his stance politically. And don't 4get dat Oshiomole's tenure won't expire until 2016 lest he decides 2 step down as Governor of Edo state. I think d best candidate 4 d Vice-president would be Fashola of Lagos state because he has already proved his worth beyond reasonable doubt as a performer, technocrat and sum1 who could be trusted by all. Even if he's not d president hvin such a personality in d cabinet is a huge plus even if d president is "dumb". And as 4 d Presidency we can hv a popular Northern xtain who will be "Northernically" accepted. Thus we have a Christain North/Muslim South Ticket. Perfect!!!
And among the political stance he has to consolidate, I will like to think will be to run naked seven times in your village market square and then probably you may then consider him in your official pedestal.
Probably your kind voted for the likes of Fayose to rule a state, but has the gut now ro raise the qualification goal post. God help you guys.

omonnakoda: That is the way alll Nigerians feel about the Ibo. The ibo man does not know how to humble himself and woo others.Rather is boastful and arrogant.Last week we heard how Abokis control oil blocks.See how long they hid it if it is true. The Ibo man would shout from the roof tops about how that is proof of his superior business acumen and it is of course on merit.. Ibo men tell others we are the best this best that ,Nigerians are fed up to the back teeth of that.Sadly you guys do NOT get it and so just continue.
Of all the major ethnic groups you are the ones persisting with this MASSOB thing ,you need to make up your mind.

The world will not change for the Ibo man the Ibo man must change for the world to deal with the Nigerian reality as it really is and not how he imagines it is or should be .Until then keep dreaming
With sentiment and opinion like this, I guess that is what one can called a humanity love, love of nation and patriotism Nigerian version. MASSOB is so much of your problem but you're are ready to vote a northerner equally without minding where Boko Haram comes from. GOOD TO KNOW.

That is the typical sense making of an average Nigerian from north to south- with his tribal hate, which they will always excuse or masquerade.

In your eyes, the sin of Igbos are so daring and unforgiven and its called MASSOB, while the sin of others with Boko Haram, OPC, Egbesu, MASSOP or MEND is quite okay and not a problem at all. grin Nice to know too.

If you feel this way, why in the name of God do you and your likes always develop high blood pressure anytime Igbos mention leaving paradise Nigeria to die in their God's forsaken land alone?

It doesn't make any sense, even to an average person, that you are suppose to be in this marriage, but hate to love and the same time hate to divorce.

Only the most thoughtless fool will read a hateful tripe as this and still believe in Nigeria in any shape of form. One day someone like this will equally seek a political office but harbour such a hateful thought about another human collection simply because you speak a different language and he is not alone voice as you can see how many likes, he is already getting for his verbal spit. Who can say that there are no worse specimen than this already saddle with power in Nigeria? Who can bet? And you find them in all the tribes of Nigeria and they are the one that sing their national anthem and pledge like a hymn.

I really do feel sorry for you pretenders calling yourselves one Nigeria. One Nigeria my back foot!!
Foreign AffairsRe: Uhuru Kenyatta Wins Kenya's Presidential Election by Eziachi: 1:40am On Mar 10, 2013
mikeansy: The decision on who governs Kenya is and should exclusively be the democratic choice of the people of the Sovereign Republic of Kenya. In time I think the international community and the ICC will realise what a waste of time the trial of Kenyatta is at the ICC. The Kenyan people have chosen to move on, let the rest of the world also move on. There is no clear evidence linking Kenyatta to any violence!
Talking to many Kenyans, most people voted for him, especially the those in the interior regions as a defiance to the ICJ case, based on what they had been told, that a vote for Uhuru is a vote for two fingers to white men governments.

But we know how difficult it can be if your ruler is wanted for a war crime, especially the likes of Kenya with a great part of its GDP coming from Agriculture. Can Kenya live with sanctions or embargoes just because of his personal issues? Can Kenya be comfortable without the vast international aid annually, especially from the U.S, Canada and the E.U because of his personal affairs? Time will tell.

They might have to look at the Sudanese people with their indicted leader, but having said that, that doesn't diminish his triumph in the election. Congratulation to him. Only time will tell how this will pan out and with him in power, it mean Obama will never visit Kenyan during his presidency, because I don't see the possibility of that while he was being charge for crime against humanity in the Hague.

Uhuru presidency is now a diplomatic nightmares for Obama's 2nd term presidency. Who would have scripted that scenario? grin grin grin

pendo89: It hasn't been an easy ride. Jomo Kenyatta went through hell in the hands of the colonialists as he FOUGHT for kenya's Independence!
Uhuru was a teenager when the Father died.He has curved out his future by himself without dragging the 'family' in.
Don't buy into the sob story of Jomo suffering. He was playing double agent, he was marrying the daughter of a chief highly link to the colonialist at the time against the Mau Mau and then with the Mau Mau he will play the nationalist. Among the colonialist elite he will play their friend and often will boast marrying one of them (He married while in England with a son Peter) Left the white lady and Peter in England and return to Kenya. During his trial he denied ever knowing the Mau Mau.

His govt was brutal more than the colonialist. Almost all his colleague that fought the independent more than he when he was far away in England all ended up in prison as he clear the coast for one party system. rewrite constitution at whim whenever any clause is on his way. He jail Odinga Odinga (the father of Raila) for darring to form another political party after he outlawed all political parties.

Just like most African leader, he was corrupt and introduced tribalism into the lexicon of Kenyan life by giving everything to his Kikuyu tribes men, at a point 10 members of his family were either cabinet ministers, mayor or ambassadors and kept stupendous wealth for his family. Today his son Uhuru (from his 5th marriage) and family are the richest family in Kenya-with interest in commercial airline, five star hotels, Ranch, private game reserves and Real estate

Deputy prime minister won the prime minister in the presidential election.
How i wish that kind of situation can happen here!
Especially when he won by just a margin of just over 4000 votes, in Nigeria, the winner always win by millions of votes ahead.
Then again, its the same old families- I still remember when Kenyetta senior edged out Odinga senior in the 60s/70s and at a point sent him to jail and now their children has rekindled the same old match. grin

Demdem: We are talking about a senator of the repulblic, u made mention of el-Rufai. Besides refer me to any of el Rufais comments that I click with that isn't verifiable. When u say u guys, u will need to be more specific and deal with individuals and not lumping them together.
These allegations aren't new to me, vast majority of ND peeps have been made to believe such.
A senator made a political statement all in an effort to prune down the norths wings so that the PIB will pass in my opinion and that to u is calling him names or what exactly are u saying? What names have I called him?
Av u ever wondered why no one seems to have the full list? Or are u insinuating that both madueke or retardeen who seems to be ND don't know either?
Besides its all less than 10% of our total production. The largesse still lies in the hands and control of the ND so where is the marginalization here?
I mentioned El Rufai, because you in particular agrees with every allegation he mades about Jonathan and his govt. Are you believing whim simply because of your dislike for Jonathan or because you knew for a fact that Rufai is right or making sense?
The reason you didn't believe this senator, is it because you think he is connected to this government, therefore he has to be wrong?

You should know that I am not a fan of any of this politicians no matter where they come from, but I do alway insist that people like Rufai or Ezekwesili should be proven wrong with a counter superior argument from GEJ fan club instead of shouting them down or calling them liars , that is exactly what I am doing in this case.
If everything relating to GEJ has to be wrong to you and anything against him is right, your argument on issues can't be credible then because is bias, especially when I knew agree with you over many issues because it makes sense to me. I like people who say things the way they see is, not people that say things based on pre determined angle.

pluto04: Is that the way justice works in Nigeria? I thought the accuser had to prove and not the other way round.
You are right, the way justice works is that the senator has made an allegation with names mentioned and a document he claimed to support his argument, its then the turn of those that disapprove of his allegation to present a counter argument, names and document to prove he was wrong and gain I am not saying that he was right and I want to hear from the other side, unfortunately this article do not do that but talking entirely different thing (1ins/working of oil industry in Nigeria)

Who did you and your people canvassed and voted for in 2011?

This thread is about oil block, nothing to do with Igbo, Yoruba or anyone else. Some like you don't like intellectual exchange of views, unless tribal name calling comes into it and once that is done, then they comes to life. And minus tribal argument, they got nothing upstairs to offer.

If you got nothing meaningful or insightful to say, why not go to the hip hop section, where you will be much more useful. This is for people that at least know how to cross the road.

Nasri100: Rubbish...who wants to watch football on a dirty pitch
Another satellite TV football fan bandwagon.
How can you know that just 18 years ago the much watched English football, most of their pitches are just raw mud with little grass in the winter, a river when it rains and synthetic?

After many years of planning, massive local/foreign investment, rebranding and sophisticated global marketing by BskyB and BBC, comes the football you prefer to enjoy today and knew the names of the teams and their players. probably more than you knew your cousins.

Nigeria football was massive and much watched in the time past when people like Abiola, Iwuanyanwu, Chukwuka (Rogeny) AG leventis group and other firms invested large sums into it.
With good planning and dedicated administrators, there is no reason it can't happen again, after all the talent of coaches and player are there to be harvested.

PoliticsRe: Northerners Are Not Controlling Nigeria's Oil Blocks by Eziachi: 12:07am On Mar 09, 2013
Demdem: I disagree. Knowing fully well the weight of his allegations its expected he gives a complete report. Do those names he called represent the so called 83%. He is a senator for crying out loud. We have to understand the circumstances involved before he stood up to talk. The PIB was being discussed and allegations abound that the north isn't in support. This baseless allegation was simply a ploy to temporarily cut their wings to enable the south have their way and this was surely acheived.
You don't have to agree with me.
I don't get you guys sometimes. Without the senator making those allegation, we both won't be talking about oil blocs now and some of the things I knew now, not mainly the names of person, I would never had known them.
So instead of you guys to concentrate on the issue raise, you start attacking and calling the guy name and then as things with Nigeria, the meat in the bone will be lost. If you thin he is wrong, why not publish the authentic or full names of all the oil block owner.

How can you call something baseless, when you haven't got a rebuttal figure, opinion to shame the senator?
Again, I am not saying that he is right, but let those that says that he is wrong tell us why with their own better and authentic list.

If the allegation is from El Rufai against Jonathan govt, you don't normally call it baseless, you just swallow it entirely, which means what you beleive is based on who is saying it and against who. And those now hailing the senator now, it will be their turn to cal Rufai names.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Are Not Controlling Nigeria's Oil Blocks by Eziachi: 11:48pm On Mar 08, 2013
pluto04: |What proof did the senator provide? I think he should provide the full list. That should not be very difficult. If 83% of the oil blocs are owned by the northerners, what percentage is owned by the Multinational oil companies?
No you are wrong. Its the duty of those that oppose his claim to provide the full list to prove him wrong. The 83% in question is referring to the oil block to indigenous prospects, not the whole of Nigeria oil blocs. Can't you give read and digest things you read first?
PoliticsRe: Northerners Are Not Controlling Nigeria's Oil Blocks by Eziachi: 11:43pm On Mar 08, 2013
Jarus: We have serious problem in this Nigeria, if supposedly educated people think an innocent article written by a well known oil and gas publisher (whose publication, Africa Oil & Gas report, is regarded as most authoritative in the industry), to correct a misinformation, is a paid agent playing a tribal card. We are in trouble in this country.
That not the issue. If someone asked you how many people passed JAMB last year? What the person want is simple figure. If you spent ten pages narrating the history of JAMB, though insightful it might sound but it never address the core of the question asked. That is what this innocent article did.

There are people in life that believe that simple doesn't represent wisdom or knowledge, but unless something is complicated, big worded and complex, its not intellectual enough. I learn few thing from the article but the article has no bearing to the big issue in the debate
PoliticsRe: Northerners Are Not Controlling Nigeria's Oil Blocks by Eziachi: 11:37pm On Mar 08, 2013
I am of the opinion that this article did absolutely nothing regarding the original allegation. I hate when people use big words and figure, then trying hard to sound intellectual ans authority but lacks substance. The issue is not which oil block or field is producing which oil and the quantity but simply that that northerner dominated the oil block awarded to individuals.
I am not saying that the original allegation by the senator is sound proof but I would have love that the rebuttal article listed oil block owners and then compare them to show us that the senator is lying or deceiving but all the writer did was boast how much he knew about oil prospect and who is who but never address the issue in question.
And just like everything Nigeria, every opinion now is coloured by where each person comes from. Here,Yorubas has found themselves recently as the defenders of the northerners simply because of the new bride of marriage of convenience called APC

And my Igbo brother went to town with anything north is mentioned without thinking, simply because they see the north pitching against their new found brother called Jonathan

PointB: Pa Eziachi, with all due respect, I clearly don't see what this question has to do with the idiotic address given by Gen. Mumu_nmadu Buhari.
Why did you consider his address idiotic? Try and convince me.
Because Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese opposition leader made a similar speech recently in London and got an ovation. Like I kept telling you guys, just because you had been programmed by manipulative ethnic politicians with selfish agendas to dislike someone, it doesn't mean that you can't sometimes reason for yourself without been bias and call a spade a spade and on Sundays, with the same mindset, you will all troop into churches, calling on God.

Buhari's crime to some of you is simply he is a northerner contesting power with Jonathan a Southerner. Nothing else!
Making up all this lies against this guy just to achieve a goal bothers on conscience and I have one.

In 2003, it was the turn of Yorubas to say their bit against Buhari, because he stood between their beloved son OBJ and Aso Rock, never mind their current hypocrisy of now of making him some sort of a hero just for the convenience of putting APC in power with a possible Yoruba person on the ticket.
This is why Nigeria is totally messed up and why I am a die hard Biafran- the only option to solve this basket case of a union of people that love to hate each other and at the same time expects progress.

Just because you disagree over an issue or had a varied opinion with your spouse, therefore won't make a good husband or you will make a bad wife?

This why I dislike Nigerian politics, people hiding behind their ethnic bigotry and trying to project it as an intellectual analysis.
