igbsam: Is this the Beginning of the End of Barcelona FC ? With Barca playing at Home and getting beaten Mercilessly. Some of you are going over the top. Teams goes difficult period, most of the time. Thats how many of you experts were yapping when Eagles drew their first two game but change their tone in the end? |
strong message to old trashford
Not a United fan, but I don't think they have anything to worry about Madrid. This is a midweek cup game, you measure team based on their standing in league of about 40 matches. Blackburn beats Arsenal, it doesn't mean Blackburn is anywhere near Arsenal. The last I checked Madrid is 16 point behind Barcelona in the league. Madrid most chance of winning anything this years is this competition. |
berem: so non igbos are not allowed to vote? maka gini zi? obughi otu a ka anyi siri me afo gara aga. why the change? You don't expect Paul Biya to run against GEJ in 2015, do you? ; ![]() |
What is Bye Election? I hope we won't end up having five Ezes before December just like how you guys couldn't agree with each other when given the slot of senate president. Evans Ewerem, Chuba Okadigbo, Wabara, Ken Nnamani and Ayim Pius Ayim |
alex101: Again, thanks for the question. Let me state here that I'm from Imo state myself,,,,Ideato south to be precise and I believe Rochas is from around that area too, if I'm not mistaken. I have been told by a reliable source that Rochas is on a mission to introduce Islam into Igboland and his Igbo background "might" be contestible. Now based on all these and the way he rushed to APC without "FULLY" and "TIRELESSLY" consulting his fellow members in APGA, then I must say he's own his own. Then again, if he or any other Igbo like Ngige can grab the APC presidential ticket, then I (like most Igbo) might start to re-evaluate this APC, because like my people say,,,ana ha no ofu ebe a gba egu.Ideato South, I don't know which is which now, my niece is married to a guy from Amanator near Umueshi. Is Amanator located in the Ideato south? In the early 60s I went to Bishop Shanahan College Orlu with many guys from that before the war. |
What i mean is that there is level of curruption to be measure by regions. If Jona region doesnt belong to this class of curuption, there wont be staging of protest in support of anti people project. This show the worth of the president when it come to curruption, and his family wont say anything because is truely reflecting what they stand for. hope i open your eyes.
Ok, what I meant was, how do you know that those protesting are from Jonathan's tribe? If you are not a Nigerian, you could have easily concluded that the two biggest of his cheering paid leaders in Abati and Okupe are from his region too. Many Nigerian rich people are damn greedy and many of their poor are damn hungry, so they will do anything to have some of the ill gotten cash floating about, irrespective of region or tribe. When Daniel Kanu, Arisokola Alao and the likes of Adedibu were organising the Abacha for life match, were they doing it simply because they came from Abacha's region? |
This is what you get when people from particular segment of country head the affair of the nation. It is more reason why they've being denied the opportunity because some greedier knows their fellow greediest. Having envisage today event, am afraid this will be the last taste of SS and SE presidency before the nation brake out.
How on earth do you come to this conclusion of people from a particular segment of the country? All I saw were just black men and women of all sizes and shapes and no stamps on their forehead. Unless you got a different picture than this one we are all looking at? |
Why can't all this stories ever be straight? Last week we were meant to believe that Jonathan and Tukur had waged in to curtail the power of their influential governors forum? And today we are being told that the same Jonathan/Tukur has engineered the emergence of Akpabio a pro Jonathan against a perceived anti Jonathan-Amaechi? Last week they hate the influence of the governor's forum and this week they loved the influence of the governors forum. Which one is it? |
Bmas01: I'm suspecting foul play or can someone RETIRE frOm work of GODCall me cynic, but his job has nothing to do with work of God, as in all my life I had never heard any pope read the scripture or explain those difficult prophesy's in book of Daniel or Revelation. Tell me what you learn today as a Christian from the bible you learned from any pope? They are just politicians in a long garb with their, permanent seats in the U.N, bullion of Golds stocked, private jets, routine of servants, soldier guards, personized coat of arms, national anthems and flags and national banks, travelling all over the world kissing the soil and babies. |
I will take it that God has his both email address and phone contact or did they share on twitter/facebook? |
Last week, I looked forward to watch the Champions league game between the Spanish giants and their counterpart from the city of Milan Italy but before the A.C Milan got their goal, I had to switch over to watch the rather not so high profile game on the same night involving Galatasaray of Istanbul and Schalke O4. I had to admit that I was influence to switch over by a friend that call to ask me which game I was watching and I said Barca/Milan and his response was that, he is bored of watching Barcelona or Spain this days, that I should watch the other game and that is real end to end game and that both sides are going for it and I must say that he wasn't wrong as I watched Galatasaray/Schalke 04 till the end. For those that find matches involving Barca or Spain borring, I will say that you are not alone as I do too now. But when you look carefully as a football person, you can't see that it neither Spain nor Barca's fault, but the catalyst to boringness lies squarely on the door steps of opponents. Its like a mindset in subconscious this days that teams playing against Spain or Barca instinctively pack 11 men behind the ball, with ten of the players waiting just outside their 18 yard box and then doing a 100 metre race anytime they get to ball and its now called counter attacking football. I hate to hear people call this counter attacking football, because if you really want to see a real counter attacking football, it best to watch Arsenal team of the mid 90s-early 2000s, and this is coming from a Spurs season ticket holder of over 30 years. In that regards both Barca and Spain, in most matches has nowhere to go than to keep passing the ball in front of 10 men for most of the game and its even worse if the other team scores first. That is why I pray this days for Barca or Spain to race into two goals advantage and its then you will see other team come out to play and in effect also free Spain or Barcelona to entertain you,if you are a neutral like me. This just my personal opinion, you have every right to disagree. |
Enigma: I think you mean Alfuysalam Rocks, no?I think You may have the correct spelling. |
Duduknight: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^When has allegedly becomes a fact? If those were allegedly killed by Abacha, just because it happened under his govt, why can't it be equally allegedly killed by OBJ with hundreds murdered under his govt? The West use to control the Nigeria press, they can say whatever they like about their foe like Abacha and it will stick. And not that Abacha doesn't deserve it. Based on what we had seen and know now, Abacha is a saint compared to Obasanjo both in the act of steaing and brutality- Don't forget the unknown soldiers of way back 1977. |
Isn't that goal both handball and offside? Well Milan is not complaining, thats the main thing. ![]() |
CFCfan: LMAOI think even Berlusconi will come down to the pitch and help. ![]() |
Schalke vs Galatasaray- better! That what you call game, two team of equal going for it ![]() |
You just pray that Barca scores first so that the game can begin. Can you imagine MIlan scoring first in this game? They will all move back into their 6 yard box. |
Is it just me that find games involving Barcelona this days unenjoyable to watch? Not down to them though, just the opponent. All they do is put ten man behind the ball and lined them in front of the 18 yard box, waiting for any possible 100 metre dash towards Barcelona area and they call it counter attack. |
But I must admit that I find the guy asking Diya questions, not only boring but over the top annoying. I can imagine the kind of law school that graduated that guys, repeating meaningless questions, beating about the bush with absolutely no coherent argument. I can't imagine that guy representing any person with their head screwed on in court. I won't be surprise if he is not wandering about with their usual big tag of a SAN. |
elampiro: 'Died' is in quote. Just an exaggeration. She was in coma, and had little chance of survival. Nine major operations in 30 days is not a joke.I can't see how she will have 8 surgeries in 30 days, my guess is, she probably she had an open wound that isn't healing well and to prevent infection she had debridment procedure every couple day, which is done under full anaesthesia. |
andyanders: I thank God for your life her Excellency. You will live long and enjoy the fruit of your labourYou should worry about your own life first before her-yours excellency's. I wonder how much she thanks God for you and your family's own existence? |
mohammad11: dont judge the whole world politicians with the same point of view...If you think I am wrong, why not name that politician that is not in politics for power? Or just hold your peace, don't just disagree for the sake of it. |
COOLDUN: You are correct including a Ghanian born Nigerian player John Orlando. Thanks for your great retentive memory . I love reading from guys that follow the history.John Orlando has an Igbo mother but Ghanaian father along with another guy, Kenneth Boardman who along with Christian Chukwu marshals the Rangers defence in the mid 80s. But the Ghanaian that made an impact with the Eagles was Leotis Boateng, who take Chukwus position when he retired. Boateng was at the heart of Eagles defence at Libya 82 AFCON-woeful outing. Ghanaian had always made impact Nigerian football- 1975 FA cup semi finals-An unknown team just came out nowhere and nearly knock Rangers out. They are called the Arusha Land Rocks FC of Ilorin with their first 11 all Ghanaians ![]() |
stagger: I recall watching Nigeria vs Tunisia in Lagos in 1985 where we won 1-0 courtesy of his well taken goal. Nigeria was in crisis after the NFA suspended Stephen Keshi and other key players for reporting to camp late. We just could not break down the Tunisians until Okey Isima was introduced late in the second half and he provided the only goal of that game. You got good memory. Nigerian always their own biggest enemies-suspending many New Nigerian Bank players for reporting to camp late, I think Chris Udemezue was the coach then, if my memory serves me right? That is actually the trigger that started the mass exodus to play abroad, Keshi left for ivory Coast, the rest is history. Up till that time only home grown player that had venture abroad to play was Thompson Usiyen and Sylvanus Okpara brief stint with Benfica. Tunji Banjo was British born, John Chiedozie was Biafra kid refugee in England after the war when he was pick up by Leyton Orient manager playing on the street with other kids in Hackney Mash and later his big move to Spurs. He has a big carpet business all over West country England now. ![]() |
madjune: The stars are going. Its true o. They made Nigeria known for soccer in those days. Isima, Okalla, Xtian Chukwu, Ogedengbe, Odegbami etc. Of cos, most Nairalanders born in the 80s and 90s will never know these people cos they were watching cartoon instead of ball then.I call them the Satellite TV football bandwagon fans-the generations of my team is Barcelona. Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid but knew absolutely nothing about the glorious history of Rangers Int' and I IICC shooting Stars. |
Nightshift: Okey Isima was one of Coal City's finest footballers during the 70s/80s. First, he played for his school National Grammar School Nike Enugu, and later Enugu Rangers International, before joining Eagles and winning African Cup Of Nations for Nigeria in 1980. A true 'flying antelope', may his Soul Rest In Peace .He joined Rangers from Standard of Jos, where he was the captain. |
This must be down to bad coaching, if not, how come Carzola just become ineffective player all of a sudden? |
Its will hard to determine Arsenal's worst man of the match. This is embarrassing. I think Wenger had seriously ran of idea, irrespective that I like the guy very much. Arsenal and their over paying fans deserve something better than this surely. |
Just wondering, was Sagna told never to do anything else other than passing the ball back to Mertaserker? |
