bigx: An excuse to later demolish houses of those who don't have access to state budgets that can rebuild a better house in days
So whats your option? He should keep his house and forget the road construction? Criticism is okay but not every action is subject to it, people.

pro01: Who needs a measly salary when you have direct and unfettered access to public funds?

We're not impressed by these tokenisms.
When Jonathan couldn't even give up the tokenism of his budgeted feeding allowance on his cassava bread?

elari: all na wash. he wants to awake a sense of public sympathy. me can't easily be fooled o.
If he decide to keep his house and knock down others like others had done in the past, you will still be claiming that you can't fooled, so either way, you will be fooled.

bamosagie: My people self nor dey reason fast, dem just dey underestimate uncle Jona.
Shey na somebody post here for nairaland say TB Joshua talk say APC fit tumble PDP for 2015.
If na you be uncle Jona and you know say TB Joshua sabi predict bad news correctly wetin you go do?
Make dem Tinubu & Buhari dey quarrel for logo there, when Sharp guys don arrange APC for demselves.
If dem like dem blame PDP reach tomorrow, the other APC don unveil logo & manifesto plus party constitution.Dem just dey wait INEC now.
Now that INEC knew that its just a one man action, unless there is something we don't know, the new or wannabe APC is a dead as anything I can remember. After all it was the sow ame INEC that has planned closing down all the mushroom political parties, how can they justify that if they are trying to register a party formed by an individual, who is a still a full fledge member of ne of the big parties?

babapupa: Is this the new line that the people you mentioned forced this young man to express regrets regarding his actions?

I know people like you and the crooked folks involved have no conscience and it's hard for you to see the difference between right and wrong, but some folks have conscience especially this young lawyer hence displaying his conscience and concern to well meaning Nigerians including stating the details of the shameful act, the folks involved and even how much he was paid and methods of payment.

It's obvious that there is more to come because this young man is worried about the legal implications of his actions.
I totally agreed with your first three lines of thought, but there is no legal implication to what he has done, Moral implication yes, but there is nothing unlawful between what he did and what his client wants to do too. Morality has no legal framework anywhere in the world, just personal conscience.

lekantruth: This is what they (PDP) have turned Nigerians into. When a lawyer collected a peanut such as 80,000.00 plus galaxy phone and got his name in a mess while the thieves that used him are busy packing the millions (sorry I mean billions). The truth is that they (PDP) will impoverish the masses to the extend that anybody can be so cheaply used for mischievous things like this. Nigerian youths watch out.
What is your definition of a peanut?
He can charge whatever he wishes, especially an upstarting young lawyer trying to build a clientele base/portfolio.
After all some lawyers may wish to provide their services for free if they so wished, if its so served their interest in the long term.
Some of you don't get it. Its not the money involved that is the issue.

Remember, when one finger touches the red oil, it ended spreading to the rest of the fingers.
PDP should officially make a statement now distancing themselves from the action this their individual member.

Duru1: I can say unequivocally that anybody who remotely insinuates that actions of the younger lawyer and his client(s) in the registration of African Congress Party as a political party with INEC are fraudulent is an irredeemable fool.
Don't count on it, because majority are already making a fool of themselves by saying that its fraudulent-because most people opinion or the way they see things depends on which party they support or which politician they blindly follow.

htajz: he will be a fool a fool to do such , is he afraid of tinubu or what , a smart lawyer will use this publicity stunt to become somebody.the guy is a coward the best thing for him to do is to go shoot himself.
Did you read the article or just only the headline?
This has nothing to do with Tinubu or anybody else but the lawyer and the person that hired his professional services. He is a victim of political mischief, though doing his job.

He was like someone asked or hired to make an auction bid for for a client, only to find out later that the client has not only no genuine interest in the auction item, but just bidding with the sole purpose to scuttle another bidder's ambition at the auction.

If you did read the article, you will notice where he said that he wasn't a politician and doesn't want to be brought into a political storm and his employers aren't happy either with him, that the name of their business had been drag into it, which rightly could cause him his job.

Not everybodyt like all sorts of publicity, not everybody loves the limelight, especially to do with controversy. some people like it quiet.

htajz: why should he do that/ becus tinubu and buhari says so ? something is mentally wrong with some of you .
Because he felt he has been misled and used by a client. It happens everyday in law. You can withdraw your services as a lawyer from a client if you later decide that continue doing the job is affecting your integrity or career. The client has the right to hire someone else.

gulfer: Ironically, judas sold Jesus for 30pieces of silver and this wanabe lawyer collected 30(thousand naira) sic; initial payment to cause this whole wahala. What is it with 30 anyway huh huh huh shocked
The amount of money in question is not the issue. He was genuinely hired by a client to file an application as a legal representative. Whatever the intentions of the client is not his cup of tea.
PoliticsRe: Controversial APC's Lawyer Regrets Action: PDP Ugochinyere Ikenga Hired Me by Eziachi: 8:20pm On Mar 15, 2013
ugoezeb: Dis is interesting.
Does it mean that d application filed by the young lawyer to INEC is in order, since, according to him, his Legal World Chambers is registered with the CAC.
Of course the application is in order, though fraudulent.
The young inexperience lawyer is only doing what he thought was a genuine job. How happy he must have felt that at this period in his career, he was being hired to registered a national party, not knowing that it was a political jests and sham.

In my opinion, he was a victim more than anything else. The person that hired him preyed on his inexperience and innocence. It now left to INEC to get the full picture and probably act according to the law (whatever that is).

I am sure the guy can go to INEC and make formal application to withdraw the application he filed, by first swearing an affidavit in court first.

gregg2: Misleading title. Keep lying more and more and keep blaming the PDP.
Where in the entire article did the lawyer
confess that PDP sent him?

Besides, what is the big deal even if PDP sent him?
Wouldn't the merger parties do worse if presented with the same
opportunity as the PDP? Bunch of confussed and rejected fellows.
Which part of the article do you find misleading? If someone said or named an official of Lagos state has asked or hired him to do a job, what is the different between the official and lagos state?
I don't know how someone of you reason. You don't need to be Chike Obi to know that PDP was behind the fake APC, whether the plan goes to the top of the party echelon is something that will unfold soon.

Not every moslem voted for Buhari, neither all Christians voted for Jonathan. You guys should stop kidding yourselves about this Northern Christians. Northern man think like, irrespective of their religion, in fact they killed more Biafran during the war than their moslem brother. It was the northern Christians that murdered Ironsi and Fajuyi.
When the chicks are down, you will regret counting on them.

Where do you call Middle belt? the way some Nigerians shout Middle Belt. Do you realise places like Niger State, Nasarawa are in the Middle belt?

On this forum someone was saying that North doesnt allow Middle Belt to rule

yet the so called Middle belt has produced the president more than any region

Gowon - Plateau -9yrs, IBB Niger - 8yrs AbdulSalam - 1yr total 18yrs

Whereas the NE hasnt produced any in the last 45yrs
Good points.

That could be the case, but I still want to see the correct updated list of Nigerian oil bloc holders no matter where they come from, then we all can talk. Until then senators list remain the only one available debate on.

chukwudi44: The level of ignorance displayed on this thread is quite nauseating.people are here counting states as if we are operating the american electoral system. All nigeria requires is majority of total votes cast provided you score 25% in @ least 24 states.A candidate can win in majority of the states and still loose the elections. All this talk of any zone been more important than the other is rubbish.
@dayoanku

I hope kadunna is not among your 19 states which you are giving to buhari

The tone of the election will be

SE/SS/MB vs NW/NE/SW zone wise it is balanced but who will win majority of the votes will carry the day.

Talking about majority of the votes we all know that the population of hausas/yorubas in the SS/SE is negligible compared to the population of igbos/SS in the yoruba and hausa states.we all saw that pattern in the last elections.

Buhari was winning 50-60% while Jonathan was winning 80-90%
So without being bias you don't know that Buahari will beat Jonathan any day or time in Kaduna in a every free and fair election?
Stop using the INEC result last time as a yardstick, we knew it was massively rigged
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 10:07pm On Mar 11, 2013
rhymz: Eziachi you are getting it all wrong. I served in Sokoto during the Elections and I participated as a PO, I know what I am talking about. It takes more than sentimental popularity like Buhari's to win an election. And trust me, there are a zillion ways to get votes in the interior parts of the northern states than flaunting some phantom popularity.
An average Hausa person in the village is an apologetic PDP lackey, many of them are employed by the PDP local councils and LGAs, they get paid monthly for doing nothing both being loyal.
If PDP should adopt Jonathan again with thesame PDP governors in most northern states agreeing to it, no jupita will prevent him from emerging the second time. You think it is mere conincidences that Buhari lost all his election bids 3times consecutively?
And anyone that thinks the southwest has any deciding factor is delusional. In the last election, what were the numbers coming out from the region?
Lagos with its huge population barely delivered a million votes which was about the highest votes fro, there meanwhile Jonathan got all the lead he needed from his own region by a staggering margin that got Buhari in tears. SW has little or no effect, the only deciding state there is Lagos, outside Lagos, it will be as usual in the core Yoruba states, people voting based on the fact that a Yoruba man is on the ticket, if that is not the case, then apathetic votes as usual. Besides, Lagos votes wont be decided by Yoruba alone, that is a fact that should not be veiled up like everyone in Lagos shares thesame sentiments with the Yoruba political leaning. Buhari needs to win in at least 21 states, the Eastern region already accounts for 11 from the available 36, if that is not a problem then you will be naive to think otherwise.
Buhari stands no chance abeg!
You are not wrong and I am not disputing your first hand/eye witness opinion. What I am saying is that a northerner will vote a northerner and religious affiliation first before anything else.
Remember that when it all stated in 1999, it wasn't PDP show, it was mainly ANPP before hand in the north. Because those in PDP now are formerly of ANPP pulling the strings that those you called lackey were following.

If they are to leave GEJ and follow APC or they decide to do a sidon look scenario unlike the last time they worked hard for him rig or win, his days at Aso Rock is numbered.
The problem sometimes with us southerners is this: that we always under estimate northerners all the time, because of our made up stereotype of them as foolish people, but in reality they are far from it. This people are no where near stupid we are programmed to believe.

Like I said before, Yoruba vote may not make any difference, just like last time, but if Jonathan is running in 2015, how he manage to bring the relevant people in the north is what will tip the scale. You can't judge anything based on the last last election that was massively inflated in the SE/SS and well rigged in many parts of north.

PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi:
dayokanu: But they didnt vote a ticket with Bakare or Fola Adeola in 2011 why?

Because those are not Politicians and people on the street barely know these guys compared to a Fashola who is popular and well loved

And where did you see "brilliance of Fashola" in my post? Does being "popular and respected" = Brilliant?
Bakare is not one of the boys, neither the other person you mentioned. So in effect, people like you doesn't count them as real Yorubas worth wasting vote on. Remember that Tinubu and his group specifically requested that Buhari drop Bakare for their own Yoruba real choice and he said no, then they took GEJ's cash and boycotted the election. (in effect)

Fashola is popular and well loved because you told us so, because its what you guys and bias Lagos press does best, it nothing new. It doesn't mean that others share your respect/love him. This is Nigeria, you knew that more than me. Tribal affiliation is start and end.
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 7:59pm On Mar 11, 2013
vanunu: The only person from the North that can give GEJ a tough fight is Buhari, all these other people you are mentioning cannot win even 15% of the votes. Jonathan is already translating Nigeria to the next level, by the time you start having complete steady power supply in the next few months, I bet you 80% of people who are against Gej will change their mind, besides, that you can vote today and defend your is because of this same man.
Some of you makes me laugh, when has Nigerian ever voted because they get few more minutes of electric power that before, if not where he comes from and where he worships on Sunday or Friday?
You am sure that voted him in 2011, did you vote for him because he successfully climbed mount Everest, if not that his name sound closer to your than his opponent and that won't change till thy kingdom come.
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 7:54pm On Mar 11, 2013
dayokanu: Thats why Buhari including FASHOLA a recognised and respected Yoruba unlike the Bakare and Fola Adeola might be the trump card
You voted OBJ in 2003, he was neither recognised or respected in Yoruba, but simply because he is one of you, and even willing to sacrifice AD in the process.
Got nothing to do with your so-called brilliance of Fashola you will make us to believe, just that Yoruba only votes their tribes men only in Nigerian national elections. Its no secret.
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 7:50pm On Mar 11, 2013
rhymz: hahahahahah. . . GEJ does not have to be popular in the North to get the required votes, PDP has an unsurmountable structure that is rooted deep into the desert villages of the North. PDP has enough money to influence many of the voters and the polling officers. You need to witness elections in the core north first before drawing conclusions, PDP is so hugely popular there, abi you think say many of them that are employed by the PDP grassroot governments there will lose their jobs because they love Buhari, I dey laugh.
Don't kid yourself, how many of those votes are real votes or is it not stuffed ballot boxes by their elit?. Vast majority of them voted Buhari last time and will do it again irrespective of what INEC announced to us in 2011.
Jonathan need the northern establishment to control the ballot boxes as they did in 2011 and not your so-called money or the phoney grass root. And if the likes of Okorocha work with APC, the sort of 99% turnout they claimed in the SE last time won't be that straight forward again.
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 7:43pm On Mar 11, 2013
dayokanu: The only thing between Buhari and an election win is the 6 SW states not the SE or the SS.

You can now see that the SE and SS can still give their 100% votes to Jonathan and still lose the election.

The trump card lies in how the SW votes.

Would the SW ignore a Ticket that has Fashola on it and vote for the PDP who we no send and who doesnt send us
Not actually the fact about the SW vote, because last time there vote was irrelevant to the outcome of the election. Unless there is a SW name on the ticket, because its a known fact that Yorubas never vote for anyone in Nigerian national election except one of their kind. That is why in 2011, they are as good as boycotting the election.
PoliticsRe: APC: Fashola, Oshiomhole, Okorocha Tipped As VP Nominees by Eziachi: 7:38pm On Mar 11, 2013
saipn: Like i said earlier GEJ needs northerners vote to win 2015 election, and d shocking truth is that it will be very difficult because he can't get the same vote he got from them in the last election.Even middlebelt are tired of GEJ govt.the only solution for GEJ is massive rigging or else APC will win the next election
Totally agreed with you. Especially If he is to fall out with the likes Lamido, Babangida Aliyu and others who helped rig and delivered the northern votes last time, he is a gonner.
Then the only alternative is to rig the election, which won't be easy in the north without the northern elite.

And for those even thinking of such a thing as Igbo presidency (if there is ever such a thing) must not forget that the biggest obstacle to the so-called Igbo presidency ever is Jonathan 2015.
PoliticsRe: ACN & CPC Accuse PDP of floating Another APC by Eziachi: 7:25pm On Mar 11, 2013
Afam4eva: They should have done so without brandishing their logo and making all sorts of noise with the new name. I even thought they had registered it already. They have to hold themselves responsible for this mess. They allowed the evil machinations of PDP to catch up with them. It could have been avoided.
It's all about publicity and momentum. For the past four weeks or thereabout, everybody is talking about APC, as they say, no publicity is a bad publicity. I believe that is the objective and if they didn't act fast, PDP might throw someone in from the inside and mess it up, just like they did to APGA over the years of like NPN did in 1982 with PPA.
PoliticsRe: ACN & CPC Accuse PDP of floating Another APC by Eziachi:
Gbawe: Totally correct. From every single tread to the next, it is the same pathetic show of open bigotry and nauseating clannishness. The sad thing is that no one is even preventing them from fully pitching their tent with the PDP and working for the Party. Yet, all attention is focused on the APC because of the paralytic and myopic fear these bigots and losers entertain that a victory for the APC is a victory for Yorubas and Hausa/Fulanis.
And Yorubas, especially in Nairaland are not helping matter either or may I say, they are rather fuelling that fear themselve. Just for an example-When it was mentioned that Rochas is with the emerging party and also went to Maiduguri, all of a sudden Yorubas in Nairaland start singing his praises, calling him the best governor in the East and the best thing since morning Glory bread.
Then, came last week, when it was speculated that they might pair him with Buhari's candidature, suddenly the same people start saying that the same Rochas of last week is not ready, not qualified, and questioning what what he has done with the same praising tongue?.
So they may well in the end turn APC into another June 12, which started with everybody but in the end becomes a purely Yoruba affair because most of them made it so. That is my fear for APC people.
