Nebeuwa: That quote is true. The United States has been a refuge for people across the world. Unfortunately, some of my ancestors did not have that choice and were brought to this continent in chains.
grin u sure? hey, i dont want to be insensitive but the truth is, as at then, those ancestors were part of the "tired" and "poor" becos it was either they got tired of fighting or were too poor to afford the tools necessary to defend themselves, that was why they were put in chains in the first place and became part of the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

makes sense, huh?

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me"

Emmmmm....emmmmm....but typo-error different from verbal ballistics now? smiley let's blame it on my "shiner" phone abeg! tongue
u see, that is why it is not good to hold people to such a high standard coz at the end of the day u cant even maintain the standard u are holding others to. typo-error is no different from slip of tongue or "verbal ballistics" as you put it. an error is an error.
anyways, later.

valdprof: This is an incurable nigerian malady;Always viewing issues from monetary point of view. What's the point dwelling on mediocrity and incompetence.this is why we are still backward in the comity of nations.Ikpeba might be rich, but that does not neutralize the culpability of his faux pax. Many a student watch tv just to learn new grammatical swags, and ikpeba syndrome does not augur well for them.Grammar is not wealth but knowledge is unassailable. The guy should fix his loopholes.....prof obi, chigago
prof from chigago, and they didnt teach u to leave a space after any punctuation in school? and that failing to do so constitutes bad grammar in written english? faux pax my yansh. btw, "faux pax" is incorrect, it is "faux pas." fake prof, abeg commot for road.
SportsRe: Victor Ikpeba And His Grammar Skills On TV by ezotik: 4:00pm On Apr 17, 2012
btw, @op what was so terrible about the grammar

1. Can Wigan maintain d 'temple' of d game?
-- nigerian sportscasters use that term always, meaning "can wigan maintain the pace of the game?"
2. I think they deserve to Lost against Wigan
-- "lost" could have been a slip of tongue
3. I expect Walcokk to chine
-- "chine" his urhobo/isoko accent came out. big fvcking deal!

so what was so terrible that made u feel bad for him?
SportsRe: Victor Ikpeba And His Grammar Skills On TV by ezotik: 3:27pm On Apr 17, 2012
the problem with nigerians is that they are still trying to master the "queens english" instead of come to terms that just like there is "american english" there is also "nigerian english" and victor ikpeba speaks nigerian english perfectly well.

@op,

langauage is a means of communication and as long as you understood what he was saying, then he did his job. but it seems u were also mocking his accent? how do u expect a nigerian raised in nigera to speak english with a diff accent? or u are one of those nigerians who speak english with britico accent even though u were born and bred in nigeria?

CultureRe: Do White People Think Higher Of Black People In Europe Than Blacks In Africa? by ezotik: 9:28pm On Apr 15, 2012
gst101: i had an aurguement with my friend and he said that sir alex ferguson does not like black players. I mentioned some black players in man utd. I even said Evra and Ferdinand are Ferguson's captains but he said no. He said that; to the white man, there is a diff btw the likes of jamaine defoe and black africans.
I have not been to the UK before so i dont know. For those of you who have been to europe or america i want to hear from you.
for the most part so-called white people do not care where you are from. whoever can get the job done, and is legally allowed to work in their country, gets it. as for alex ferguson in particular, i dont know. but considering that man u once fought over mikel obi with chelsea before mikel decided chelsea would be his best choice, i dont think ferguson cares either.
