Shollypopz: i thought naijarican was supposed to be d nice, classy lady......NL don change am too??nice? hmmm... maybe classy? hell nah! |
beam me up, scotty. |
realmscape: how and when did you escape from kirikiri?....im just a concerned fellowthe day they brought u in... and sorry, i nor give u the expo on how to escape. u go die there. |
lol..lastma don chop money for the matter. good for her though, since she had enough money to buy her freedom. |
killayut: Yanch that we call Butt is a pure french word Hanche which means butt or hips in French.hmmm... interesting. killayut: Kalabaris SPOKE PIDGIN FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE the first Igbo person met the white man.una sabi find trouble ![]() do u know the origin of 'una' and 'sabi'? |
btw, mzdarkskin... i don't even know why u feel this matter concerns u...coz last i checked 'akata' aka AAs do not consider u jamo negroes and other carribean migrants to be part of them and they see u no different from africans migrants. in fact u carribean negroes are even worse off than africans when criticizing AA..cos u are always the first to remind them that they don't have a 'culture', that u negroes who were shipped to the carribeans have one while those shipped to north america have none..haha, funny people. |
MsDarkSkin: Why would she or any of us want to claim a region that house your kind?lol.. the way u throw 'inferiority complex' around, it seems u don't even know the meaning, u just add to ur comment when u run out of shiit to say... why won't i write english, if i write in my language, would u understand? and do u guys dwell on anything else apart from remind us that u were shipped out of africa? or to use ur words kicked out of africa? but when i talk am na u go vex? lol. and what does wearing european clothes have to do with anything? i also wear arab clothes specifically some jalabiyas that i bought from an aboki friend of mine. i wear them when i wan take my evening stroll...and no, i don't dress like lil wayne or any other hip hop artist if that is what u meant by emulate AA on TV. altho, i do listen to and appreciate hip hop music, the good one though, not the likes of soulja boy and tupac coz they both suck! now bite me. |
sweetroyalty: What matters most is that we're all 100% human.yes, but nothing can be compared to.....
|
naijarican: Glad you're sitting down, now stay seated fool. You know damn well by African standards I'm considered light skinned. You even know that by Black American standards I'm considered light skinned. It is what is is... If it makes you feel better to think that I'm dark, go ahead... truth be told, light or dark, I'm proud to be a black woman. Miss me with ya bullsh1t... loser. *curtsy*haha... so who gives a shiit if u are considered a darkbutt or not? as long as the poosie is clean and tight and u know how to lay down the pipe with perfection, thats what matters. btw, i didnt even know u are nigerian with a black-american mother, if not i would not have bothered arguing with a fellow nigerian prolly called temitope about her roots. so temi, na later e go be... bye! |
naijarican: He's Yoruba.oh so, u are half-nigerian sef... so ur father is a yoruba north african? hahahahahahaha |
naijarican: Look here fuccktard... I never said that I was called oyibo because of my complexion. I said I have been referred to as "albino" by some Africans because I happen to be lighter than those particular ones doing the name calling. If you gon come up in here accusing people of saying sh1t. GET IT RIGHT! Don't half a55 on the quotes. See, it's ni66as like you who like to start sh1t and cause a divide. Get somewhere and satcho a55 down chile.lol..i am seated. u said u were called albino and oyibo by mostly nigerians and nigerians found surprising because u are not that light to be called such. so u were probably called such becos of ur behaviour. and how did u respond? naijarican: I've also seen many Africans who are my complexion or even lighter, they just happen to be more northern African..isnt that placing urself where ur ancestors |
naijarican: See, this is the condescension I'm speaking of. This is the very sh1t that keeps us at each others throat. You know what though... You ain't finta worry me today fool. Step yo black a55 to the side and let grown folks continue to talk... condescending? nope. it is something i have observed about u african-american negroes... u try as much as possible to claim anything outside ur roots in west africa where ur ancestors and for u to think to u were called oyibo becos if ur skin tone, means u are ignorant about nigerians. and besides, u are not that light, u look like the average calabar housegirls wey full benin. no offense to calabar housegirls though. they know how please the nuts of oga when madam nor dey house..something u african-americans girls have also perfected..haha |
naijarican: I've also seen many Africans who are my complexion or even lighter, they just happen to be more northern African. The few folks that I have been called that by are West African mostly naija. And I gather they call me that because my complexion is quite a bit lighter than the average Nigerian.lol, at the typical african-american negro always trying to place themselves where they dont belong. northern africa ke? why not southern africa? they prolly called oyibo not because of ur skin color/or tone, but because of ur behaviour same way they would call fellow nigerians who were raised in the US oyibo due to their behaviour. and whoever called u albino must have been drunk. |
hmmmm ... if that's really the scene of the incident, the road seems free with no hold-up. so why was she blowing one way? she nor wan go turn for front.. throw her azz in jail and keep her there. |
mavinc4u: guy na that one dey pain you.che!!! naijaguy, why u feel say na dat one dey pain me.kai!! naija indeed |
damogulxx: If you have seen the said one way she took then you would slap the next lastma official you meet and call all of them liars. The road is bumpy and uphill and immidiately she hit the express she was stopped. She was not doing more than perhaps 20 km/hr. In the argument between herself and the lastma official, a towing vehicle was called and this towing vehicle parked right in front of her vehicle in order to block any attempt of escape but by this time she was already out of her vehicle. Another vehicle, a danfo bus was also taking this one way and the lastma official attempted to stop the bus, the driver sped up, hoping the lastma official would jump out of the way but the man was hit and ran over. The driver of the danfo vehicle took to his heels and abandoned the vehicle.ur comment kind of makes sense since i have not been around that area since this year and i know how fast lagos can change. i thought she hid in Ikota Shopping Complex..so where did the incident take place? between VGC and Abraham Adesanya or between VGC and Chevron? anyway, if u are sure of what u are saying u can go and bear witness for her..but one thing i know is that there are a lot of dumb and impatient drivers around that zone and lastma is not always to blame. |
damogulxx: For those who are crying blue murder and demanding for the head of the banker do you even know the exact location this incident occurred? I live in the said area and can authoritatively tell you that this banker is innocent of all accusations. Yes due to the current road construction the people of ikota estate created an outlet for themselves which for maybe 2 to 3 metres they would have to drive against traffic and this was where the banker was stopped. I was on a bike passing through and stopped at the scene of this incident. Banker and her totally clean and undamaged car were parked on the side of the road, banker was out of it and talking on her phone, lastma official was on the ground some meters from her vehicle and a danfo vehicle which was damaged was parked on the road as well. EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE ALL SAID THE DANFO BUS RAN INTO THE LASTMA OFFICIAL as the banker was stationary when it all happened and not a hazard to oncoming traffic since she was not on the move. People need to get their facts right.so why did the danfo hit the lastma official? and why would they pin the death on her out of everyone there if she had nothing to do with it? why didnt they pin it on u since u were there? so what u are trying make people believe is that danfo driver ran into a lastma official and killed him, then lastma decided to pin the crime on a banker wey be 'oga madam' who had nothing to do with it? so the danfo driver is more influential than this madam? |
from this thread alone, the next civil war in nigeria would be very interesting. genocide go plenty nor be small. ![]() |
BlackBaron: Can't say about the origin, but I think the name 'Okun', was derived from a form of greeting commonly used by those who share a similar history and linguistic affinity. The form of greeting is usually - 'Okun' and you'd reply 'O'(?)ok cool, thanx. |
BlackBaron: Speak for what you know dude...off topic. how did the okuns get their name? coz i always thought okun meant the ocean and not just river? or at least that is what i have been made to believe. so are they anywhere close to the atlantic? |
Tafugo: Who on this forum has not taken a one way street in this chaotic Lagos let him cast the first stone.with the construction along the Ajah axis it is stupid to go and turn at ikota after VGC with the traffic when you can safely drive on the verge for one minute and turn at the opening by the Mega chicken. That's the truth the idiots building the road should share the blame they have no consideration for anybody and lack tragic management skills.people violate traffic laws everywhere in the world, but when u are caught u stop and pay ur fine. that is the ‘enlightened’ thing to do especially for our so-called ‘big men’ and ‘elites’ who probably have spent time abroad where they dared not commit such offense. fleeing the scene of the offense is another offense of its own. and someone died while she was being chased down to pay her fine, so it was due to her negligence that led to the death of the person. so a few years in jail would be just fine. |
teminoni: Who cares if she's terribly shaken? Wat about the LASTMA official that is terribly dead.but not in her case. lekki-ajah is an express road so there is no way she wouldn't know. she is probably one of those money miss road 'oga madam' becos for security men to shut down the gates of ikota trying to hide her, she nor go be 'small' person. |
yeah, i now remember ukhon for navel and echara unu for lips and that proverb. we used it a lot to tease kids who had the somali-type of teeth. but i cant remember urhu a(o)bo for elbow. maybe it will come to me when broken down urhu means what? and thnx for the correction of ihien |
bokohalal: Ezotik, I thought we call the digits 'ikpian' as in 'ikpian obo' for finger and 'ikpian owe' for toe.And it is 'akon' for teeth and 'eho'for neck without an 'e' at the end.oh ok, yeah. ikhen is fingernail. my written edo is not too good.. so most times i spell the way i pronounce words...so i just added the word 'hoe' to eho coz that how it sounds when pronounced. as for akon, that was a typo.do u know these words? navel pelvis lips elbow wrist ankle ? |
i guess u meant the word 'aso-ebi', yeah it is yoruba. but the concept, hell nah! the title of thread says nigerian 'cultural' events abroad..which i guess implied indigenous culture. not just parties organized by nigerians abroad. so i wouldn't present a church wedding as nigerian 'culture'. but hey, that's just me. |
btw about the aso-ebi thingy, whats the meaning of aso-ebi? i always thought it was the equivalent of what we call ukpon-otu in edo -- meaning a group a people wearing clothes from same material. so unless aso-ebi has a different meaning, then groomsmen and bridesmaids in church weddings can also qualify as aso-ebi.. so how is that a nigerian thing 'culturally'? oyibos nor dey clothes together? |
anonymous6: Aso-Ebi is nigerian culturally, the same with the foods eaten there and etc. Church wedding is debatable, P-square is nigerian but their music is a fusion of R&B, nigerian, hip-hop so thaton is debatable, with christainit well in todays age for Nigerian christains it is part of the culture now just like for christain indians and chinese.church wedding is based on a christian doctrine introduced to u by oyibos. so i dont see how u can present what was introduced to you by oyibos as ur culture in oyibo land. it is laughable. ![]() |
