to whom it may concern.

odumchi should be removed as a mod from the culture section. he is turning the section into an igbo cult house. i was banned from the section because i wasn't pro-igbo. this is nairaland not igboland.

odumchi: I think you know, lol.

Anyway... @ Everyone

this is the last time I'm asking everyone to cool down. All I'm asking is that you guys say whatever you have to say without verbally abusing each other. I hope that's not too hard.
lol, yes i know. low-self esteem that is rampant in the east. mind you, i did not mention any tribe.
the fact that many edo women marry yoruba men.
and with the fact that many igbo women marry yoruba men. so who knows? maybe the stereotype that yoruba women cant cook is a fact, hence why yoruba men are opting for others. so go improve ur culinary skills instead of playing all day with ur imaginary "bini" friends. do.

u couldnt keep away from the thread even if u were paid a billion dollars to stay out.

and i should be the one posing that question to u. is ur yoruba identity threatened?

or to phrase it better, is the yoruba identity threatened? that they need to include others to feel secure?

move along and tell ur people to stop starting such threads.

CultureRe: Urban Dictionary-nigerians! by ezotik:
nigerians in nigeria do refer to chinese as "chinko" but it is not a derogatory term. well, as for now. maybe in the future it will take a new meaning just like "akata" has taken a new meaning with african-americans. even though "akata" was a term used by nigerians in nigeria to describe nigerians who grew up in yankee aka nigerian-americans when they returned home. nigerian-americans then took the word to the US and used it to describe african-americans but it was not as a derogatory term. african-americans then took the word and gave it a new meaning "cotton-picker" thanks to movie sugar hill staring wesley snipes. so AA of this generation get offended when called akata, they feel u are calling them cotton-picker. so words and their meaning evolve. and as at today, "chinko" is not a derogatory term towards chinese/asians

NRI PRIEST: It will be adviceable to know that you must have an "Ozo" title before you wears it in Igboland! So,restrict it to Bini.
lol, don't be selfish. and im not a title holder anywhere in nigeria.. im just wearing the outfits (edo yoruba and igbo) as a costume celebrating the rich culture of my people and neighbours east and west. so don't be selfish

btw, i see kelly handsome always rocking that red hat.. altho it is the short one he wears. is he a title holder?

and oh, what does it take to become a title holder? drink the water that was used to wash dead body?
grin grin nri dat was a joke ooo before u come back spitting fire about my people grin grin
CultureRe: King Making In Igbo Lands by ezotik: 2:28pm On May 30, 2012
the igbo red hat looks good though, and im going to wear it during my traditional marriage. im wearing three outfits that day, first as an edo chief, then rock yoruba agbada with kabiyesi cap, then come round the day up as an igbo chief from ndigbo as mazi ezotik grin grin

NRI PRIEST: Nri dont do monarchy; We had PRIEST KINGS who were also celebrated like monarchs but doesnt wield the war like power. He celebrates the Ofalla, new yam festivals, land cleansing when a sacrilage has been commited, counting of the years and months and the rest. He prides over all the Nri institutions but cant impose his orders on anybody but he is still revered. He is the mouthpiece of the gods and only interpretes the messages and maintains all the practices. So,my point is that we do have a kings but with a very unique style. Sorry,if it doesnt suit your definition of what a king should be doing.
lol..ok, so nri even though not a monarch but is a king presiding over a kingdom, that's funny.
and from what u wrote there he seems to have monopolised the power becos he is not only the king but the priest who is the mouthpiece to the gods. so where does perfection of democracy fit into all that?
CultureRe: King Making In Igbo Lands by ezotik: 12:48pm On May 30, 2012
NRI PRIEST: I dont claim what I dont have but I will also correct a misconception when I sense one. And like I said earlier,we learn from each other, shikena.
ok, but i find it funny how u dodged the most important part of my comment.

why do ndigbo claim to have perfected democracy long before the british set foot in nigeria, but on this thread right here u are celebrating kings with hereditary titles from nri to aro? or i guess "double speak" is an igbo phrase and not english?
CultureRe: King Making In Igbo Lands by ezotik: 12:33pm On May 30, 2012
lol, nri priest, was it not ur fellow igbo brethren who first noticed the similarities between cultures? so i don't understand why u are bitter about what i said. just use the yoruba argument and say it was igbo that influenced edo instead of the other way round. that would have been enough instead of that shtye u wrote up there.
CultureRe: King Making In Igbo Lands by ezotik:
ahhh ndigbo is celebrating their monarchs today from nri to aro but tomorrow they will say they never had monarchs and perfected democracy long before the british set foot in nigeria, and day after that they will reverse to monarchy. whatever suits the discussion na dem they claim... ask dede1 grin grin

btw, i see the edo royal sword representing. no wonder some anambra igbos claim edo ancestry. nice.

<insert long live the king> in igbo!

shymmex: Stop hating on Yoruba girls, they have arguably the best shape in naija... I have seen some Igbo girls with bodies to die for - but Yoruba girls have bodies for days...

I used to think Yoruba girls were overrated, till I actually moved to dagenham in East London... Boi, these new breed of Yoruba girls are unbelievable.. shocked shocked cheesy cheesy

Their bum alone will make you start fantasizing.. grin grin grin
of course yoruba girls are beautiful. just that the beautiful people are not always public figures or "celebs"

but i thought u are the one chasing igbo girls in nairaland. im yet to see u profess ur love for any yoruba girl on here. and the last i read of u, u said u don't like yoruba girls coz one broke ur heart. awww, how sad. loser.

afam4eva: You have a point there. But there's a fine face called "May7even". She's Segun Odegbami's daughter, she's a musician and she's Yoruba. We can fit her face on Tiwa's body.
oh, never heard of her. but i will check her out and give her a listen.

oh i just remembered, there is this yoruba artist with a cute face that would have worked on tiwa's body.. Lami. she's aight.
