​The management of the national youth service corps (NYSC) has announced that henceforth medical and fitness reports submitted by corps members must be stamped by the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).

Kikiotolu gathered the service gave the new directive in an announcement quoted below:

“This is to inform all Prospective Corps Members including serving Corps Members that henceforth medical fitness/medical report submitted to us must be affixed with Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) stamp. This is to authenticate the reports and curb quackery”.

“You are all advised to strictly comply with this directive”.

Recall that in recent times there has been reports of fatalities involving serving corps members during and after the orientation camp, this policy maybe put in place to ascertain the true health statues of prospective corps members for safety and precausion.

​A young Muslim lady identified as Amina Hassan, has sued her dad, Alhaji Adamu Hassan for banning her from marrying her Christian boyfriend.

Amina, 20 met her suitor Christopher from the Niger Delta region last year and recently introduced him to her father who rejected the relationship.

She immediately hired a lawyer to help convince her father.

Amina and her lawyer Barrister Ado Ali appeared before a Sharia Court at Magajin Gari area of Kaduna state yesterday where her lawyer begged the court to serve as her guardian in order to allow her wedding to hold.

In his objection, Alhaji Hassan through his lawyer said the only issue he has with Christopher is that he has no regard for him.

The girl’s counsel, however, prayed the court to grant the two parties two weeks to sort things out and reach an agreement.

In his ruling the Judge Lawal Dahiru said Alhaji Hassan has every right to assess his daughter’s suitors but has no right to force anyone on her.

He thereafter adjourned the case till the 29th of October for hearing.

A very good evening to everyone, I have been searching for answers as regards my NYSC but I haven't found one. The thing is that I graduated last year from Uniuyo (affiliated to Osun State College Of Edu.).

About a month ago, graduating list was pasted and my name was there. Now, going to the NYSC itself, the whole brouhaha started.

I was told we are to check one something something online about NYSC mobilization. All the people that have helped me checked so far said my name wasn't there. When I asked why, they said there's one JAMB regularization thingy that I have to do.I don't seem to understand all these grammar please.


Now, somebody should please explain to me.

1- How can my name be on the graduating list and not appear on NYSC mobilization list?

2- What is this JAMB regularization thingy and how do I go about it?

3- Is it still possible for me to go with this Batch C batch?

4- I'm married and also with a Baby who still sucks. How can I go about it such that I can be posted to where my husband is?


I'll appreciate everyone's contribution on the above questions. Thanks.



PS: my husband who is supposed to assist me also doesn't know jack about this new process of registering online. He went for his own service around 2012 when the process was still manual.

First of all. Did u gain admission to your institution with Jamb and Did Jamb also gave you admission back then??

If yes you don't need any regularization again. What u need is just to pay 1000 for jamb matriculation list if your name is not on the list.

It is good news for corps members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has they have been enrolled into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was setup by the Federal Government to enable Nigerian have access to cheaper health care.

The enrollement of corps members into this scheme was made known by the Director General of the NYSC, Suleman Kazaure, while addressing journalists shortly after the opening of the 2018 NYSC annual management conference held in Akure, Ondo State on Tuesday.

Suleman Kazaure said NYSC had established partnership with consultants from the Federal Ministry of Health to ensure the corps members key into the scheme.

The NYSC Director-General also explained that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will now afford the corps members access to quality healthcare service.

He said: “The Federal Government has approved the enrolment of all NYSC members into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and I can tell you that we are good to go.

“We are already into a collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health to ensure good medical services for all corps members and we have consultants from Federal Medical Centres in each of our orientation camps.”

According to reports, Okedi, died in the early hours of today at her Magodo Isheri home in Lagos. The cause of her death is still unknown.

Confirming the death of Efe to Pulse Nigeria, the Project Manager of Premiere Music, Michael Odiong, said the sad incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 23.

In this interview, she talks about her growing up, career and passion for children.

She said:

Growing up was fun. My mum got married at about 17, and at 18 she had her first child. As a young mother, she was a disciplinarian but loving. My dad was a Customs officer and he was posted to different places; so he only came home on weekends or fortnightly.

Then, in the evening, we would sit outside on the balcony and my mum would tell us stories and teach us songs. And anytime she was cooking, everybody, male or female, would have to be in the kitchen with her. While cooking, she would sing and we had to join her as well.

I was a tomboy and I liked to climb trees and jump fences. As a result, I always had bruises on my chin.

My mum just couldn’t understand it so I was chastised every day. Over time, she couldn’t stop me from climbing trees, because I was a real tomboy. After a while, she got used to it.

I am a bit harsh when it comes to advising female graduate who could not secure a job or raise capital to start a small business, because truth is bitter. My parents were not poor but I started working at age 16. This was not because I could not find a job but I created job for myself. My friend, Florence, and I used to cook food and sell to make money. We were also the cleaning crew then. We used to clean houses for people who were moving into new apartments. Also, I used to sing at nightclubs. Although these were not my choice job, but you need to get something doing while waiting for a better job. There is no job too menial to do, don’t wait for manna from heaven. Do something. If you’re not successful, it’s your fault.


I have this natural love and attachment with children. So, my foundation is just to cater for children. In all honesty, the condition of children in IDP camps makes me feel guilty a lot. I have relatives who have been victims of Boko Haram. I feel sad about how these children feel without their parents. I pray we get it pretty soon in Nigeria.
