This got me thinking maybe this is to compensate subscribers by MultiChoice for the suppose increase in prices of subscription which will take effect from 1st of August 2018. Already, MultiChoice is facing serious competition and ditching with Netflix in South Africa which I’m guessing might happen in NG later in the future. According to MultiChoice, ALL active DStv and GOtv Max subscribers will be treated to the first ever Africa Magic Nollywood Stars Pop-Up Channel (DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 29) with access to some of Nollywood’s biggest titles.Subscribers will have an abundance of critically acclaimed Nollywood movies to choose from and enjoy. This is the ultimate Nollywood binge: twenty-four hours and seven days a week for the whole month. A-list stars to expect on the pop-up channel are Richard Mofe- Damijo, Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Ramsey Nouah, Dakore Akande, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, OC Ukeje and many more. The pop-up extravaganza kicks off with big titles such as Isoken, Okafor’s Law, A Trip to Jamaica, Lotanna, Road to Yesterday, Hakkunde, Dinner, and 76 amongst many others and will also feature a special ‘AMVCA block’ showcasing nominees of the upcoming 2018 AMVCAs. The Africa Magic Nollywood Pop-Up channel will open on Wednesday, 1 August at 12 pm and run till Friday, 31 August, 2018 on DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 29. http://kikiotolu.com/multichoice-dedicates-new-channel-for-nollywood-stars/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Politics in Nigeria is a joke… Ask me why? These same politicians are the ones behind the financial woe of this nation. Earlier today, some politicians defected from the APC to PDP party.. It is no big deal since they are all political nomads.. .That should never bother any wise Nigerian. If you are a wise Nigerian not under the payroll of these crooks in power, their defection should not bother you. Their defection means absolutely nothing because they are all in it for themselves. Let’s take Fayose for instance. This man collected N5.52 billion from the Federal Government to be able to settle unpaid workers salaries and up till now, he is yet to settle the suffering masses in Ekiti state. The same Fayose who staged an attack last week today visited his political gang members, Saraki, and Dino Melaye to condole with them. Truth be told. Any Nigerian who supports any of these crooks in power doesn’t want the good of this country. These political nomads are not interested in the good of this country, all they care about is their pocket and personal interest. So to all of una asking me why am not covering their reports, you have done well. Politics has become a joke in Nigeria and sadly some Nigerian youths have decided to allow themselves to be used as puppets by these gangsters with heavy bank accounts. Shame on Fayose, Shame on Saraki, Shame on Dino Melaye and others playing game while most Nigerians suffer in abject poverty. My sincere prayer is that God bring a God fearing man who will take over the affairs of Nigeria and help the helpless. Nigerians have suffered enough in the hands of these ones. Their puppets among the youths are still the ones supporting them on the social media. At this point, permit me to say there is no corruption free political party in Nigeria whether na APC or PDP. So if you think am in support of any of these yeye parties, you are totally wrong. On the invasion of Saraki & Ekweremadu home today, Nigerians una cool down, allow security operatives to do their job and findings. The affected politicians should stop crying foul if they have no skeleton in their cupboard. http://kikiotolu.com/nigerian-politics-is-joke-shame-on-saraki-fayose-melaye-other-politicians-playing-games-with-nigerians/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

The risk-taker moved very close to the highly venomous snake and shot a photo of himself at at his residence in Cape Town South Africa recently. The amateur photographer who is never of snake was called to help get rid of the poisonous boomslang snake from the garden of his lodge. According to the Daily mail, Gerhard picked the snake with his bare hands and moved it to a nearby bush before deciding to take a selfie using his reflection in the eye of the deadly snake. Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, yesterday told the governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi that he remains the governor of the state until October 16, 2018. He was responding to Fayemi’s statement, warning the management of College of Education, Ikere- Ekiti against alleged recruitment. Fayemi had asked the school authority to stop conniving with Fayose to embark on illegal mass employment in exclusive favour of the governor’s supporters. In a statement by his media aide, Wole Olujobi, he cautioned the management of the college to steer clear of alleged contrived sabotage mission by Fayose to cripple the incoming administration of the governor-elect. But media aide to Fayose, Lere Olayinka, said the governor would carry out all the functions of his office until October 16. He added that if there was the need to employ workers, he would do so legally and no one could prevent him from doing so. He said: “This is more so as the process of employing 2,000 workers had commenced even before the July 14 election. Therefore, Fayemi and his ignorant team should wait till October 16 before starting their usual anti-people policies.” The governor also asked Fayemi and his men to rather concentrate on how to defend the false electoral victory awarded them by the powers that be in Abuja, instead of his daily display of idiocy. According to him, they have watched with amusement the way and manner in which the beneficiaries of the Ekiti electoral robbery have been running their mouths in the last few days and have opted to react to their advertisements of expertise in political comedy. Meanwhile, the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged Fayose to honour his promise of paying all outstanding salaries of workers in the state before leaving office. In a statement jointly signed by the NLC chairman, Ade Adesammi and his Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart, Odunayo Adesoye, the unions advised Fayose to also consider paying the outstanding gratuities, pensions, salaries and deductions before his tenure expires. The unions, however, commended him for his efforts in the state over the years and wished him success in his future endeavors. http://kikiotolu.com/im-still-governor-of-ekiti-state-fayose-replies-fayemi/

There are two categories of people living around me. One group says that judging by the events happening these days, the world is surely and steadily moving towards its apocalypse, its breaking point, its end, its death. This group insists that these things are so strange they make the end of the world inviting so that we will be free from hearing of matters that sound stranger than fiction. These people cannot make any head or tail of nuclear wars, fathers raising children through their own daughters or mothers marrying their own sons. Naturally, these are all happening because the world is coming to an end, they insist. Let me support them a little. Think about the numerous earthquakes, uncountable famines, incessant wars, skirmishes, civil strives, increased deaths, unspeakable acts of murder, etc., going on in many countries at the moment. All of these do not favour the continued existence of the world. You could say they are not good for the blood pressure of the world; they are certainly not good for mine either. Just recently, I read that a beauty queen in Kenya had been sentenced to death because she had stabbed her boyfriend to death, up to twenty-five times. I want to believe, just as you do too, that a beauty queen is supposed to represent probity and be seen to be above board in everything. This is why I cannot ever be a beauty queen. Not only am I not beautiful, I am also too below board in many things, especially probity. I think that one passed me a long time ago. What I find strange indeed is that the civil rights groups in the country were said to be up in arms against the sentence passed on the beautiful lady. I wish they could have been more up in arms against the stabbing in the first place; the young man had a right not to be killed and his blood ‘spilled everywhere’. How can anyone, let alone a beauty queen have so ungovernable a temper that s/he would stab someone twenty-five times?! What times we are living in! Or, take another strange scenario. During the last Ekiti elections, I hear that money was a palpable factor. I hear that right on the queue while people were waiting to be allowed to vote, money was distributed to them in order to buy their votes. All I can say is why on earth was I not there to take my own share?! Seriously, can anything be stranger in the land? Is that where we have got to now? When Gov. Fayose introduced his ‘stomach infrastructure’ programme, everyone cried foul play! Now, it seems the stomach infrastructure programme has been monetised by both sides. Add these happenings to the fact that the world is right now experiencing one of the downturns of development: global warming as a result of over-industrialisation. So now, the weather blows hot when it should be cold, and cold when it should be hot, colder when it should be cold, and hotter when it should be just hot. And all of us are helplessly watching it, not knowing whether to get the sweater, the bikini or the umbrella of a Monday morning. I hear the heat wave across the world is becoming intolerable right now. Seriously! Taken together, one can’t quite blame those who say that things are coming to a sad end for the world. The weather has gone topsy-turvy; parents have lost control of their children; children have lost the reigns to their childhoods; beauty queens are only beautiful on the outside, and governments are no longer governing but entrenching themselves whether the people like it or not. Hold it though; let’s listen to the other side. The other group says that strange things may be happening all right, but they are no stranger than at any other time before. They say that strange things have been happening since the beginning of time; and the ones happening now are no different. They say that the good book has said that there is nothing new under the sun. To them, every event has its own degree of strangeness anyway. After all, when the sun first began to shine, people first ran away from it, then they worshipped it and now, we have come to depend on it. Now, it is strange when it does not shine. This group points out that the world actually began to decay the minute it came into being, and they have a solid argument to back this up. They point out that when a baby is born, everyone around rejoices because the baby is new. Everyone also forgets that the minute the baby is born, it begins to get ‘old’, while people think it is ‘growing’. So, when the baby celebrates its birthday each year, it fails to recognise that it is celebrating its ‘decay’, the idiot. Birthdays are not recognised as ‘decay’ days (as they should) until the wrinkles begin to show and the bones begin to weaken. The world, says this group, began to decay as soon as she was born, just like a baby. Naturally, therefore, she would show signs of wear and tear such as misuse (global warming), wrongful interactions (illegal cohabitations), accidents of birth (congenital malformations), character malformations (beauty queens not being beautiful or religious shepherds not leading), incongruous relationships (anomalous sexual orientations), etc. While these may be strange, say they, they are evidences of robust combustions taking place within a living entity or organism. They are signs that the world is alive. Clearly, the two groups above do not deny that we are indeed living in strange times. What to make of the strangeness is what separates their thinking. Me, as usual, I am on the fence. You should try it sometimes; it is a very comfortable spot to sit when you have got a good balance and do not easily topple over. Me, I just hold on to my thoughtlessness. Right now, I am very dispassionate about where the world is going. I care neither for its ending or its beginning for that matter. What I care about is that while the world continues, it should be meaningful for all. This means that I am not too fastidious about whether the world stays or goes but what we make of our time in it already. This is why I fail to understand why Nigerian leaders think that their leadership is all about acquiring. I watched a little clip about President Obama talking to leaders about the futility of simply acquiring money or properties. I believe he was addressing African leaders, and in particular, Nigerian ones. He attributed such behaviour to ‘poverty of ambition’ when one fails to realise that ‘there’s only so much one can eat’, ‘only so big a house one can build,’ etc. I call it poverty of intellect. The world may be ending or not, I don’t know. Since no one knows, I think it is safer to assume that the world may not have long to live. Our leaders should therefore begin to think of the good they can do rather than the properties they can acquire. These properties and all the Cayman Island accounts and the Swiss accounts are all unfortunately going to go under within minutes if the worst does happen. On the other hand, if one’s resources are put to good use for mankind, there is no telling just where it might reach. Who knows, it may even help to keep the world alive. Certainly, I know it will help to make the world go round. http://kikiotolu.com/is-the-world-really-about-to-come-to-an-end/

Budding Nollywood actress Pat Ugwu has revealed a day she will never forget in her life. The talented video vixen who always flaunt her assets in public was on set on this fateful day when her pants suddenly ripped. Here is how she narrated her ordeal to Inside Nollywood: “I have had several embarrassing moments. The one I can recall vividly was when I was on a movie set dancing. Unknown to me, my pants got torn and the DOP didn’t tell me. I was dancing and twerking, having a nice time on set, not knowing that the crew were having a nice time watching me dance with my torn pants. When I later realised, I was so angry. I told the DOP I won’t work with him again.”She maintains that she flaunts her assets in public because her boyfriend always encourages her to do so. http://kikiotolu.com/nollywood-actress-pat-ugwu-disgraced-as-pant-got-torn-while-dancing-on-movie-set/

Two of the leading aspirants of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have pulled out of the contest to pick the party’s flagbearer in the coming governorship election in the state. Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Moshood Adeoti, as well as the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Peter Babalola, announced their withdrawal shortly before the APC primary election started on Friday. The SSG revealed his decision in a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity, Moshood Adeoti Campaign Organisation (MACO), Mr Kayode Agbaje, which was made available to reporters in Osogbo, the state capital. He explained that he has resolved to abide by a resolution of the Osun West Senatorial District wing of the party, dissociating itself from the exercise. Adeoti added that his withdrawal was based on the credibility of the primary which he described as “a skewed and jaundiced process already designed to favour an anointed aspirant.” However, he informed his teeming supporters that he is still very much in the race to contest and win the governorship election. Meanwhile, the APC primary election is taking place in the 332 wards across all the local government areas of the state. The party’s national leadership had set up a committee to conduct a free and fair primary that would be accepted by party members in the state. Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari, is the chairman while the lawmaker representing Delta Central, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is one of the members of the committee. With the withdrawal of the two aspirants, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salam, as well as 13 others will battle for the APC ticket. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed September 22 to conduct the poll that would produce a successor for Mr Rauf Aregbesola who has been governor since November 2010. http://kikiotolu.com/osun-2018-ssg-one-other-withdraw-from-apc-primary/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Two governorship candidates have emerged after factions of the Osun State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) concluded their primaries ahead of the September 22 governorship election in the state. The faction led by Ademola Ishola produced Munirudeen Atanda, as candidate, while the Bayo Faforiji-led faction elected Iyiola Omisore as candidate. The development is an offshoot of the leadership crisis within the party occasioned by the defection of Mr Omisore to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party. The leadership contention, which is now a legal matter, arose due to failure of the party to harmonise the various interest groups within the party following the arrival of Mr Omisore. Mr Ishola, supposedly suspended by the party, had continued to lay claims to the leadership of the party along with his executive members. Pointers to Wednesday’s outcome were the separate congresses earlier held by both factions where delegates were elected for the primaries. This is in spite of a court order secured by Mr Ishola forbidding the other faction from holding a congress of wards, local governments and state. However, the primaries by the Ishola-led faction was held at on Wednesday, at the SDP Secretariat on Gbongan road, Osogbo to elect its candidate. Mr Ishola, after the exercise, urged members of his faction to disregard the exercise carried out by the other faction. He said there was no division in the party, and urged them to campaign vigorously for Mr Atanda. At a separate primary where Mr Omisore emerged, Rufai Alkali, the returning officer and chairman of the party’s electoral panel said Mr Omisore polled 123,485 votes to defeat Mr Atanda, who scored 1,617 votes from all the 31 local government areas in the state. In his reaction, Mr Omisore said he was excited that he emerged the candidate of the party, adding that he had earned the confidence of party members in electing him as the candidate. http://kikiotolu.com/osun-2018-two-governorship-candidates-emerge-in-sdp/

Start your probe now, we’re not afraid of death or incarceration – Fayose’s aide replies Fayemi Ekiti State Government has challenged the Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, to begin his probe of the Ayodele-Fayose led government now, instead of waiting till October 16 when he will be sworn in. Governor Fayose’s Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said this his reaction to Fayemi’s threat . Olayinka, in a statement, said “It is obvious that he will be consumed in his vendetta mission and rather than grandstanding, Fayemi should first seek legitimacy for his stolen mandate. “He (Fayemi) should stop living in the world where threat of probe scares people because we in the government of Fayose are not afraid of victimization and vendetta that Fayemi is obviously coming with.” He described Fayemi as a beneficiary of a stolen mandate, who is afraid to even come to the open to celebrate his false victory. “Even yesterday when he went to collect the certificate of the mandate that was snatched and handed to him by the powers that be in Abuja, he had to be protected by police helicopter and hundreds of armed policemen. One wonders how he is going to rule the people they forced him on. “If Fayemi is on vendetta mission, which is obvious that he is, he will first destroy himself because like Ekiti and its people survived him during his first tenure, the people will outlive him this time too. “During his first tenure, he probed the government of Engr Segun Oni and said he (Oni) should refund N5.4 billion to the state government account. “He went further to say that the state government should explore all legal means by inviting anti-graft bodies like Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences (ICPC) including courts to compel Oni and others so indicted to refund the money to the government purse. “However, he is now wining and dining with the same Segun Oni.” “It is funny that the same Fayemi, who refused to appear before a duly constituted commission of inquiry is the one talking talking about probe. What is he waiting for? Can’t he start the probe today? “As for us, we have counted the cost for shenanigans of Fayemi and his Abuja impostors and we are not afraid to confront them when the time comes. “To us, there are just two things that can come from dictators – death and incarceration, we are not afraid of any.” Source: http://kikiotolu.com/start-your-probe-now-were-not-afraid-of-death-or-incarceration-fayoses-aide-replies-fayemi/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

The police in Niger State have arrested two suspected motorcycle thieves terrorising Kpakungu in the Chanchaga Local Government Area of the state. The suspects-Danjuma Idris, 28, and Mohammed kudu, 27,were apprehended by the police operatives after robbing one Johnson Emeka of Ketaren Gwari, of his Jingcheng motorcycle. The bandits were sent by one Abdulsalami Abdulkareem, 27, of Farm Centre Tunga, Minna to deliver the motorcycle to one Sadam Dutse in Kaduna State. Checks revealed that the suspects had been involved in robbery for many years before they were apprehended. One of the suspects, Idris said that they were hired to deliver the motorcycle to Dutse in Kaduna “just to get little money for survival.” He said, “Things are hard, l am looking for what to survive on since there are no jobs anywhere. I have been in this business of snatching motorcycles from people for years. “The bricklayer job I was doing cannot sustain me, people are no longer building houses as before and things are hard for young men and that was why I resorted to snatching motorcycles from people,” he said. Idris blamed the government for not creating jobs, noting that “if government creates jobs for the youths, crime will reduce to the barest minimum.” The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, said detectives had also arrested one Abdulsalami Abdulkareem, who allegedly connived with the suspects to steal the motorcycle. He said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation. http://kikiotolu.com/i-started-stealing-okada-because-people-are-no-longer-building-houses-arrested-bricklayer/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Success is achieved by ordinary people with extraordinary determination. This is the story of 15-year-old Thomas Owusu, who is on a journey to make a name for himself with his talent in crafting. Young Thomas Owusu has put his special set of skills to ingenious use, making a standing fan out of wood and plastic materials that runs on electricity. Thomas is a class 5 pupil of the Bokabo D/A Primary School at Sefwi Bokabo, in the Bodi District of the Western Region of Ghana. Overnight, the extremely talented boy has become an internet sensation, with many commending him for his innovation. Thomas built the entire standing fan in a space of two days, crafting the wood to fit the shape of the fan and moulding the plastic fan blade all by himself. He has already made two of these fans and is hoping to add a few more. Both of Thomas’ parents are cocoa farmers, and he helps them on them farm when he is not in school. Thomas hopes to make other wooden fans that run solely on batteries and says those will be “easier to build.” His teacher, Max Owusu describes him as “a genuis, who believes in himself, very positive-minded and result oriented.” In terms of his academics, his teacher says “Thomas is an average student with a strong interest in Mathematics, science and crafting. Pictures of his works were originally posted on social media by his teacher Max Owusu and the post has since been shared over 2900 times, creating huge buzz around the prodigy. Mr. Max Owusu posted on Facebook ” See this young but creative electrical engineer at my school who designed a wooden stand fan that can be operated electronically. I believe in a future that is realized today not tomorrow.” Some social media users, impressed with his work, are calling on the government to support young Thomas Owusu to unearth the innovator in him. His teacher tells me, there are also looking out for funding and sponsorship to help Thomas showcase his talent to the world. Thomas has interest in football, but crafting and innovation come first for him and he hopes to become an engineer in future. http://kikiotolu.com/photos-meet-15year-old-boy-who-builds-wooden-standing-fans-in-just-2-days/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has advised supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti to remain peaceful, orderly and cooperate with the party at the state and national levels as they determine the next steps. Abubakar gave the advice in a statement issued by his Media Office on Sunday in Abuja. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the election held on Saturday. . Fayemi had resigned his appointment as the Minister of Mines and Steel Development to contest the election. He polled 197,459 votes beating the PDP candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, who got 178,121 votes to the second position, according to Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the Chief Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, who declared the results. The former vice president said that the PDP had an excellent candidate in the governorship election and that it gave solid support to the state chapter of the party. Abubakar said that as narrow as Fayemi’s victory might have been irregularities notwithstanding, PDP supporters should wait for the party’s decision. He commended Olusola for showing restraint and standing in solidarity with Gov. Ayodele Fayose, whose commitment to the people of Ekiti had continued to inspire Nigerians. “We will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with them through these difficult times,” Abubakar said.(NAN) http://kikiotolu.com/wait-for-partys-decision-on-ekiti-election-results-atiku-begs-pdp-supporters/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its state executive committee members, leaders and stakeholders to march peacefully along the streets in protest to the police commands in all states of the federation. The peaceful protest according to the party is to make clear its misgivings at what it labeled “the police brutality” in Ekiti State on Wednesday, which led to the Governor Ayo Fayose allegedly manhandled by the Police. In a late statement issued the PDP National Organising Secretary, Colonel Austin Akobundu (retd) yesterday, the party tasked all state chapters to deliver a protest letter to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris through their respective Commissioners of Police. “The National Working Committee (NWC) has directed that all state chairmen mobilize former NWC Members, Board of Trustees, BoT Members, former Governors, all State Exco Members, Exco members of the party at all levels and stakeholders with our teaming supporters, to embark on peaceful procession to the State Police Command in their respective States to protest the police brutality that happened today (yesterday) in Ekiti State. “The protest march must begin by 10AM simultaneously across the Nation. “All State Chapters are to deliver a protest letter to the Inspector General Of Police through the Commissioner of Police,” the statement reads. http://kikiotolu.com/ekiti-pdp-to-embark-on-peaceful-protest-nationwide-today/

Few weeks after Ramsey Nouah praised Old Nollywood actors for their unbroken focus and talent, another Nollywood actor has come after him. While promoting his latest movie, Crazy People, Ramsey Nouah said he misses Nollywood of the 90s becasue they are vibrant and talented unlike the new breed of Nollywood actors flooding the market with little or no talent. Well Kate Henshaw believes such statement that is capable of causing division in the entertainment industry should be condemned. Here is what she said in an interview recently: “I don’t get this argument or shade about Old Nollywood vs New Nollywood…Nollywood is Nollywood. This is the same divisive trend that breeds disharmony in the nation. Nollywood started somewhere… so did Hollywood.”Although she didn’t mention Ramsey Nouah’s name in the interview, it was Ramsey Nouah who first brought up the old vs New Nollywood issue. http://kikiotolu.com/kate-henshaw-shades-ramsey-nouah-for-praising-old-nollywood-stars/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique Fynestboi Ishilove

Some students of Osun State University, Ikire campus were at the weekend brutalized and sexually harassed by suspected armed robbers. The bandits beat occupants of the student hostels and carted away their possessions. Some of the victims who shared their stories said a group of seven boys entered the hostels through their room windows, removing the window and its burglary proof. One of the victims of the attack, Miss Adeyemo Adefikayo, who resides at Civil Barracks in Alasepe area of the university community, said the bandits stormed her hostel at about 2:30a.m. on Saturday and dispossessed her and other students of their laptops, phones and other valuables. “They broke my burglary and removed the window completely. It is not every day that one sees actress, Genevieve Nnaji, at parties and other events. Even when she attends such outings, she always keeps to herself and doesn’t stay for long. However, the actress made an exception for France President Emmanuel Macron when he visited the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos last week. Unlike most celebrities are wont to do, Genny arrived quite early and while other stars granted interviews on the red carpet, the actress stayed at a corner. She was so unobtrusive that many people weren’t aware of her presence. She came in company with a Chinese man who stayed glued to her side throughout the event. However, most seats were already taken when she stepped into the hall so she had to stand at the back. The Ije actress treated herself to a few cocktails and exchanged pleasantries with some guests. She also obliged fans who wanted to take pictures with her. Though many have labelled the one-time singer a snob, she was pleasantly warm as she danced to the tunes dished out by DJ Jimmy Jatt, who played on the night. Some fans of the actress could also be heard complaining that they weren’t satisfied with the treatment meted out to her as other Nollywood practitioners present were provided with seats close to other VIPs. However, Genny could be heard saying she didn’t mind. After standing for over three hours, Genny attempted to leave at a point when the event, which started late, had just begun. As she made to leave, she was sighted by Fela’s daughter, Yeni, who took her to a food vendor’s stand within the shrine where she was treated to some goat meat (asun). However, when our correspondent approached Nnaji for an interview, she declined . http://kikiotolu.com/genevieve-nnaji-in-shock-as-colleagues-snubbed-her-at-new-afrika-shine-ikeja-lagos/

Plans are underway to establish 24-hour medical facilities in all permanent orientation camps for persons, participating the mandatory one year national youth service corps, NYSC, scheme in Nigeria. The House of Representatives which gave the indication during plenary on Wednesday has therefore mandated its committee on healthcare services and youth development to liaise with both the ministry of health and authorities of the NYSC. The reported cases of death of corp members in the NYSC scheme due to inadequate health facility has been sources of worry to government and other concerned individuals. Medical facilities available within the NYSC orientation camps are known to have inadequate or no medical personnel to provide services. More worrisome is the lack of medical facilities to contain ailments. The lawmakers therefore want this anomaly to be urgently addressed. They also want the provision of 24-hour standby ambulance services in all permanent orientation camps across the country to help with emergency cases. In another motion, the house mandated its committee on interior to investigate the release of the sum of 2.8 billion naira appropriated for the federal fire service in the two thousand and eleven budget. http://kikiotolu.com/24-hour-medical-service-to-be-provided-in-nysc-camps/
