Tiwa Savage has revealed that she might release an album later in the year. The ‘ Ma Lo ‘ singer also shared her wish to have one of the world’s richest men, Bill Gates, at her concert.

Tiwa made these revelations during an interview session with “Grape Juice” in London. She said she has recorded a lot of songs so far this year and thinks it’ll be a good idea to compile them into an album.

Tiwa gave a peek into her forthcoming project, revealing there would be few featured artistes on the project; like she did on her previous albums.

The big revelation came when she said she would love to see Bill Gates at her concert, of course for his cheque; and also to hear his feedback on her music.

Ex-Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Dr Olawale Idris is dead.

Dr Idris lost his battle to stroke at the age of 78 at his family home in Lekki Lagos on Thursday the 30th of August 2018.

The deceased was appointed Commissioner for Education by the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande in 1979 and was charged with the implementation of the UPN administration’s priority programme — free and compulsory education at all levels in Lagos State.

Here is what his widow, Muyinat told PM News on phone about his death in an emotion laden manner:

“I can’t believe that my husband is gone, we are still together in the early hours of today and I never knew he was going to leave me for eternity.

“My husband is 78 years old and we have been planning big for his 80th birthday; I never knew he won’t wait till then.

“I am speechless, I don’t know what to say again but I will surely miss him”.

A young Nigerian man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was severely injured when he jumped down from a storey building while trying to evade arrest by police in Suria, Malaysia.

It was gathered that he plunged from the building and crashed into a parked car.

"This our brother jumped from upstairs in suria malaysia to escape the cops. He's been taken for treatment as at now.... Hope he survives"

Former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke has said he won’t criminalize gay Nigerians is President.

He made this known in a recent interview with Falz and Laila on the viral show ‘On The Couch’ saying;

‘I think we are an under-performing and under-achieving nation and the basis of our problem is poor leadership’.

On the issue of the highly contentious special anti robbery squad (SARS) and if he would scrap the agency, the presidential aspirant said categorially, “Of course I would. Because I do not subscribe to the force where people carry arms and they’re not in uniform.”

Donald Duke went on to bring up the issue of LGBT rights in Nigeria saying

“I don’t understand the emotional feelings a gay person would have toward someone of their sexuality. I don’t understand it. But I would not criminalise them. I would ensure that they have the protection of the law. But if they want to exhibit their sexuality, then that’s an affront on the current norms of society.”
“Can you have a gay person in your cabinet?” Laila asked. “His sexuality is private to him,” the former governor answered. I don’t want to know if he’s gay. It’s not my business. My business is if he can perform the assignment that he’s been assigned.”

Young People Should Watch Out And Vote For Ideas At The September 22 Governorship Polls In Osun

Quoting one of Rauf Aregbesola's unsound reasons for mismanaging Osun finances and bringing many households to economic disgrace, Sun Newspaper of 13th May, 2018 wrote: "The reason we borrowed for infrastructural development and not for investment is simple. In a liberal economy like ours, government has no business doing business. The responsibility is to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive." In the same publication, the government has admitted that the debt of the state stood at a staggering N143.6 billion. It is estimated that the state government could continue paying this debt till 2040. And the immediate consequence of this indebtedness to local and international financial institutions is the non payment of workers the full value of their labour, which government's spin-doctors want us to forget.

In the first place, infrastructural development is a form of investment. But in the hands of a corrupt and elitist regime like Aregbesola's, it becomes a source of sorrow and tears for the masses. Constructing schools and roads should boost a local economy if much of the funds employed to construct them are retained within such local economy. Under Aregbesola's government, it went into the pockets of the Lagos "contractors", some of whom became qualified because of their financial contributions towards Aregbesola's campaign and election petition litigations. Most of the road projects at the average cost of N1 billion per kilometre were over-inflated by at least times three of their actual costs – the World Bank had estimated that a kilometre of road project anywhere in Africa should cost N238 million! It is this brazen corruption and breach of public trust that created the brutish situation, where the state spends billions on this and that, and the common man could hardly feed himself and his family.

Secondly taking money out of the accounts of a state to construct roads or build schools are business transactions. For Aregbesola to around and declare that government has no business with business is a deep contradiction that borders on deceit – which is what the APC government does best, side by side with buck-shifting and not taking responsibility. By nature, politics is closely tied to economics that both actualise each other. Therefore any government that has no business with business does not have any business being in government in the first instance.

Meanwhile the Osun State ministry of works laid redundant, reduced to consultancy firm, while Aregbesola was busy incurring huge debts to finance his Lagos benefactors in the name of bogus road or airport projects. If his government has embraced a people centred politics, it would have equipped the Osun ministry of works, fully employ more skilled and unskilled workers (not the O-yes slave-labourers whose poverty were exploited and placed on miserable wages by a government that should be upholding the minimum wage law) and consequently retain a chunk of the state's resources in the hands of Osun people.

Some of these projects too were carried out in order to create a source of profit for Lagos's contractors, and not to actually edify the human beings that would use them in Osun. This is why we today have colorful schools dotting Osogbo and other strategic cities in Osun while the teachers that would teach in such schools are owed arrears of salaries going back to several months. What do you expect them to teach under such traumatic experience of not knowing what your family would eat the next day? And it should be added that they were designed as propaganda materials to draw attention away from the human suffering and historic corruption being perpetrated by the Aregbesola's government. Tune to OSBC and you would be shocked the desperate attempt of APC to hoodwink the Osun electorate.

On September 22, we have an opportunity in Osun to unite as a people and vote in a candidate with ideas and programmes of prosperity for the households in Osun, as against the other candidates who are complicit in the ruination of Osun since 1999. This is among the reasons why the Socialist Party of Nigeria is contesting in the Osun 2018 election. We shall abolish the contract system of implementing government's programmes, and employ the workers in the state (fully paid for their labour) to carry out infrastructural development, which we believe is an investment that must be made to improve the lives of people and for the future. The implication of this would be that more people shall be employed fully into the state's civil service, while the cost of these projects would have been drastically reduced. The other opposition parties for example are saying that they would replace the contractors from Lagos with Osun contractors. This is actually changing the name of a problem without removing it. The fact that a contractor is an indigene of Osun does not stop them from colluding with government officials to inflate the cost of projects, or even stack profits away in tax Haven abroad.

Alfred Adegoke, the governorship candidate of the Socialist Party of Nigeria in the Osun 2018 election has sworn to a court affidavit that he shall draw the same salary as average professionals in the Osun State civil service. These principles of governance are not just coming from out of nowhere as with our colleagues in the other opposition parties that promise heaven on Earth only every four years. Alfred Adegoke has been a foremost activist from his Station Road Osogbo Chambers, campaigning for payment of workers and pensioners, while representing victimised activists in court without charging for his services. In June 2015, he was arrested and humiliated by DSS operatives for issuing press statements on behalf of workers; but that did not cow him. He is now seeking to be the Governor of Osun State in order to make development of the state people-driven and people-centred. We know what we don't want, we only need to get straight the policies we want as a united people!

The daughter of late Raggae icon Ras Kimono who passed away on the 10th of June 2018 after a brief illness has opened up on dreaming about his death.

In this chat with Benjamin Njoku, Oge Kimono said:

My father was my everything; he was my best friend, my partner in crime. He was my gossip partner and also, my adviser. People have always asked me what I would miss most about my dad, and I told them I would miss everything about him.

There is no particular thing. Everything about him is what I would miss. He was true to himself. I’m yet to see anyone that has negative thing to say about him. All I have been hearing is that he was a good man, he was selfless, humble and dedicated. And that’s exactly what my dad was.

He was an open book to everyone. The bond we shared was such that people started suspecting whether I was his daughter or his girlfriend. At a point, we were that close because everywhere he was going I would accompany him.

Not growing up with my dad did not mean that he was not in my life. Every opportunity, he had to show me love he used it. He was always visiting me. And I think it was the best thing any musician would do for his kids; to keep them away from the limelight. To separate business from his family and my dad was one that made sure that every opportunity he had, while performing in the eastern part of the country, he would stop over to see me.

That was where the bond I shared with him started deepening. Growing up with my grand mum, I had the best of everythings. It was sweet memories. At this point, it hasn’t dawned on me that my dad is no more. May be, when everything is over and the sympathisers returned to their homes, the realization would definitely set in.

Since I returned to the country in 2010, I have been having dreams in this direction. I lost my grand mother first, then my mum and now my dad. The thought of loosing my dad has always crossed my mind. But God has been always faithful.

Like I said, I have been having dreams and may be , it was a way of preparing me to be able to be strong, to carry on with my life. I remember vividly the last dream I had of him.

In that dream, he was the one that called me and said that my dad was dead. The next morning I called him and relayed my dream to him. This was about three years ago. I cried profusely in that dream and I woke with my tear stained face the following morning. It felt so real that I had to put a call across to find out if he was okay.

The late Reggae star will be laid to rest in Delta state today.

May his soul rest in peace.

A barber, Wale Kehinde was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly defrauding two Americans of $23,000 through romance and lottery scams.

NAN reports that the 24-year-old barber, a resident of 8, Ogundare Awise Lane, Gbagada, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge of obtaining money by false pretences and possession of fraudulent documents preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to Mrs Zainab Ettu, the prosecuting counsel, the barber allegedly committed the offences sometime in 2017 in Lagos.

“The defendant goes by three aliases which are Charles Coleman, Benson Coleman and Carolina Brewer. While posing as Charles Coleman, the defendant fraudulently obtained $15,000 from Janice Steen, an American, by falsely representing to her that he is an American building contractor who was in love with her.

“He illegally obtained $8,000 from Jan Rowland, another American, by falsely informing her that she had won a lottery and that he was Carolina Brewer, a lawyer working on her winnings.

“While posing as Carolina Brewer, Kehinde informed Rowland that the $8,000 represented clearance fees for the lottery winnings,” Ettu said.

The counsel said the defendant was found with fraudulent e-mails sent to foreigners.

“On June 21, 2018, he had in his possession a g-mail document entitled “About Me”, which he had sent to Kasie Butler, to her e-mail address kasiebutler@hotmail.com, the document he sent contained false pretence.

Gospel star Yinka Ayefele has said he was hospitalised for five days when he received the notice from Oyo State government to demolish Music House building housing his Fresh FM in Ibadan, the state capital.

The artiste said he was on hospital bed from August 14 till August 18.

Addressing reporters yesterday inside the partially demolished building, Ayefele said his wife was at the home of Governor Abiola Ajimobi around 11 p.m on August 18 till about 4 a.m on August 19, pleading with him not to demolish the building.

The singer, who was in company of top officials of his radio station, said: “Immediately, I got this demolition notice last Monday, August 13, I started making moves on how we could overcome it. All I can see is the demolition taking place, after we had gone to court.

“They were served with the court processes on Thursday and the case was fixed for August 20 (yesterday). But before today, we saw that they had carried out what they said they were coming to do.

“On Saturday, my wife was with the governor of Oyo State. She was on her knees for almost five hours with the governor – it was around 11 p.m till 4a.m – in the governor’s house. I was on my hospital bed because I had been down since Tuesday that I got the demolition notice.

“I would have followed them to the governor’s house, but I couldn’t go because I was on the hospital bed. So, I asked my wife to go there and solicit on my behalf. My wife was with the governor for almost five hours.

“The governor said she should not worry, that everything would be resolved. As a matter of fact, the governor gave my wife $1,000 and two other people who followed her to the place. He told them everything was over. What we saw was the demolition on Sunday morning.

“I don’t know precisely what went wrong. What has been my offence to deserve this? I have close to 200 people who work with me here. All my labour, what I have laboured for, for over 20 years in pain, was just pulled down in minutes.

“So, I don’t know if there has been any way that I have wronged the government, I would have gone to beg or pray for forgiveness.”

Ayefele said he acted promptly on the letters he received from the government, adding that before the demolition notice was served on him, he had asked for a way out.

According to him, the government said he should put up another plan for approval, “which I told my architect to do”.

He added:

“It is not a day’s job. It was almost done when we get this demolition notice.

“As it stands, we are going to abide by the ruling of the court. Aside this, we are also suing the government for unlawful destruction of our property. We have relocated our studio and Fresh FM is fully back on air. It is only NBC that can stop us from broadcasting. They can only try but they can’t succeed.”

Ayefele said he got government approval for Music House, saying:

“In the approved plan of the Music House, we requested for an approval for a business complex with proposed two studios, which was approved. This building is more than 10 years. Are you now saying that the radio licence, which costs several millions to obtain, is not a business venture?

A suspected madman has hacked to death a middle age man; Seewo Idowu in Olomu, a community in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

A source said the incident happened on Friday night but was reported to the police on Saturday.

The identity of the suspected madman was not yet revealed by the police.

The source said the alleged killer was living on the same street with the deceased but no one knew why he carried out the attack on the deceased.

The source told New Telegraph yesterday that ” People know the lunatic in the town, anytime you see him, he always carried a cutlass or machete in his hand.

“He attacked Idowu by macheting him on the head. Nobody knew what went into him to have done the dastardly act.

” People tried to revive the deceased but he gave up the ghost shortly after.

“Immediately after committing the crime he ( the lunatic) fled and nobody knows his whereabouts till today ( Monday).

It was learnt that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at a mortuary.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Femi Joseph said the lunatic was a well-known person in the community, adding that he had been terrorising the members of the community while the residents did not take precaution.

Joseph noted that the police command had commenced an investigation on the incident, confirming that the suspected mad man had taken to his heels.

His words ” The alleged killer and members of his family had ran away from the community, nobody had been arrested over the matter. But we can confirm from the resident of the community that the killer is a mad man.”

Nollywood actor Mike Godson who recently facilitated the arrest of his impostor is feeling bad about it.

The actor in a recent interview said the fraudster who duped many of his fans, a 4th year student of Theatre and Media Arts at the Ambrose alli University in Ekpoma was planning to write his exam when police arrested him for cyber crime.

Here is what Mr Godson said about the criminal case:

“Before this present case, there have been others and someone was actually sent to jail. I feel bad about taking the matter to the police because these guys are young. The one that was recently caught is actually a 400 level student of Theatre and Media Arts at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; he has his exams to take very soon. It is quite unfortunate that it happened that way.”

“The mother was crying and there are a lot of things that happened that I cannot disclose because I’m not supposed to. The point is that he has been apprehended by the police and the police are taking care of the matter.”

“It is very obvious that the actions of these cyber criminals affect our brand. They usually follow us on social media and are aware of our activities, so they post our images and videos on their fake pages. They then use those media to defraud our fans and because of how good they are, some of our fans actually fall for their deceit.”

“However, I think it’s only a fool that will believe that celebrities who are so busy would have the time to call people on WhatsApp and Facebook to ask for money. I just feel like these fans are also gullible and greedy. If they do not want something, I don’t think they would end up being defrauded.”

Controversial Nollywood actress Liz Anjorin who recently engaged her colleague in a war of words has come after women with inferiority complex.

The owner of MMMG, Ubi Franklin, has rubbished reports that he stole business ideas from certain people.

Earlier in the week, a Twitter user, Kelvin Igwe, alleged that Ubi stole business ideas from people. According to him, Ubi asked them to bring their business proposals and later used the ideas to start up two ventures, Instant Pick Up and Instant Apartment.

He tweeted, “Young intellectuals, please be careful. These men will approach you with plans to help you start a business and ask you to submit your business proposal, but they won’t call you.

That’s how Ubi Franklin did and a few months after, he used their ideas to start Instant Pick Up and Instant Apartment.”

When Sunday Scoop reached out to Ubi, he said it was not an issue he would like to give any attention.

The top music executive said, “Don’t mind those people, please. If they have N1.3bn, they should start a business. We all know that starting a business is beyond just talk.

How would you say someone who has been working hard for years stole your ideas? I started my Instant Pick Up business in 2016 and in June 2017, I decided to call a few people to give them money to start business.

That is why people don’t want to help any longer. It is not about having an idea in your head; it is about putting money into it and ensuring it works.

Are they the ones that gave me the money I invested in my business? I am well traveled and when you travel a lot, you get ideas from a lot of things.”

He stressed that he had never met the person who called him out on Twitter.

He said, “I don’t know the guy; I have never met him in my life. I was not even on the panel that interviewed those people in 2017. I came in, said hello to them and left.

Even if he had presented an idea, does that mean another person cannot come up with it too? I tell people that an idea goes to millions of people; it depends on who acts fast on it.”

Mavins Records songstress, Tiwa Savage have come under series of tweet attack by a female feminist fan after she revealed that she cannot earn equal amount with Davido and Wizkid.

Tiwa recently granted an interview on Soundcity Radio and she revealed how she doesn’t support the idea of feminism. Citing the Nigerian music scene as an example, Tiwa acknowledged that she doesn’t believe in equal right for both genders because she as an artiste cannot charge the same amount with big names like Davido and Wizkid.

The female fan who goes by the handle, @GbemmyG, found this offensive to the feminist community and she went all in on Tiwa in a twitter thread.

It’s been many months since one of Davido’s best friends and colleagues in the industry sadly passed away, still it’s very difficult for the FIA crooner to forget his dear friend DJ OLU.

Davido took to his IG page today to remember Olu who would have been a year older today.

According to Davido, he misses his friend everyday and today his birthday, he cried while mourning him.

The Disc Jockey died in a mysterious and sad way when he was found dead in his parked car in a garage months ago.

Reekado Banks has reacted to reports of a fight between him and Kizz Daniel.

After recording a remix of his song, Selense, featuring Kizz Daniel and Reekado Banks, Harrysong was forced to work with other artistes for another remix.

Harrysong’s manager, Desmond Ike, while speaking with SUNDAY PUNCH recently, said that Daniel didn’t want to be part of the video because Reekado was featured.

Ike had explained, “He said he didn’t want to have anything to do with Reekado. We tried to sort out the issue between both of them so that we could shoot the video, but Daniel refused vehemently. Because of that, we decided to do another version of the song with Iyanya and Dice Ailes. Daniel was just being arrogant about the whole thing and behaving like he is a demigod.”

Speaking with GoldmyneTV, Reekado’s manager, Temi Solomon, said they were in the dark on the issue at hand. He stated, “People can say or write whatever they like, but I cannot make comments on what I don’t understand or know about. We saw the story online the same way most people saw it. I am not aware of anything.”

But a source close to Reekado said they found out about the issue when they wanted to shoot the video of ‘Selense.’

The source added, “We honestly don’t understand what went wrong. If there is an issue, it must be from Daniel’s camp. But I am still surprised. Daniel came to Reekado ’s ‘Thank You Concert’ at the New Afrika Shrine and Reekado went to his album launch as well. We got to know that there was an issue when Harrysong featured them on the remix of his song. Until Daniel comes out to speak, we don’t know what is wrong.”
