​Emzor Pharmaceuticals Industrial Limited, one of the companies implicated in the illegal manufacture and distribution of codeine-contained syrup has broken its silence.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, had recently lifted the shutdown placed on Peace Standard Pharmaceutical Limited and Bioraj Pharmaceutical Limited in Ilorin, Kwara State, and Emzor Pharmaceuticals Ind. Ltd, Lagos.

During a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, Uzoma Ezeoke, an executive director at the company, said: “Unfortunately, we found ourselves as a key selling point for that documentary. All eyes were on us even when others were mentioned.”

In her address, Stella Okoli, chief executive officer of the company, said it became necessary to interact with the media because of the events of the past few weeks.

“We have been inundated with requests. I think that we are strengthening democracy. We are deeply touched to know that our hopes, our future, the youths of this country are having issues with drug abuse or prescription drugs,” she said.

“My heart reaches out to the family that are affected. This is a social problem. We shall all work together to overcome this problem. All of us must join our hands in harmony, in peace, in love, in friendship to solve the problem.

“As you know, Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries is a major player in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 40 years providing high quality but affordable medicine to all Nigerians.

“You have rewarded us with your confidence. You have rewarded us with your comments. You are actually those that help us to advance the quality of our products,” she said.

​Some hoodlums were on Saturday arrested at the gate of the venue of the Ekiti APC governorship primary election.

It was learnt that one of the suspected hoodlums, who accused the policemen of bias after he was denied access into the venue because he did not have the necessary requirements, had on him charm wrapped in a red piece of cloth.

Also, other suspected hoodlums were arrested and handed over to operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department present at the venue.

The men claimed to be delegates from various wards but they did not possess any of the documents required to ease their entry to the main venue.

Police operatives recovered the sum of N158,000 on them.

Mark Zuckerberg, has revealed during the ongoing F8 conference for 2018, that the world’s largest messenger application, WhatsApp, will soon include a new group video calling service.

WhatsApp users will be soon able to make group video calls. They will also be able to share stickers, something similar to what Google Allo or WeChat offer.

The company revealed that it will add group video chat options to WhatsApp, for instance, allowing people to call numerous people at once. And it will continue its focus on allowing people to chat with businesses, too.

Video calling feature is now coming to Instagram. Who says it is just a photo sharing app, although talking of photo sharing, Instagram is also getting an Explore that will help people discover fresh content.

Facebook chief, Mark Zuckerberg, has revealed earlier today that the world’s largest social network, Facebook will soon include a new dating service.

“This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships, not just hook-ups,” Zuckerberg said as he unveiled the plan in a speech at Facebook’s annual developers conference.

Users who are single and interested in dating can set up a dating profile within their existing Facebook account. It won’t be visible to friends or family, or show up in News Feed, and will only appear for other people using the dating service.

The way Facebook will connect people is by asking users to “unlock” groups or events on Facebook, which will allow users to see other “daters” who unlocked the same event or group. The idea, of course, being that you’ll have something in common with the people you can suddenly match with. Messages sent between users will open in a new messaging section, not WhatsApp or Messenger.

Late Swedish DJ has been reported to have died from apparent suicide, KikioTolu.com can confirm.

This was revealed in a statement issued by Avicii’s family, they said that he ‘could not go on any longer’ when he died on 20 April.

The statement, translated from Swedish, read:

‘Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An overachieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.

‘When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music.

‘He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer.

‘He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

‘Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.

‘We love you, Your family.’

Police had earlier confirmed that there was no criminal suspicion in his death.

Avicii had suffered numerous health problems throughout his life, including acute pancreatitis, caused in part by his excessive drinking.

In 2014, he had his appendix and gallbladder removed.

The Levels hitmaker retired from touring in 2016 due to the toll it was taking on his health.

Your phone screen brightness is set too high. This is one thing that consumes your battery power. When your phone screen brightness is set high, then don’t expect your battery to last too long.

Your phone is on 4G network. 4G consumes more data than 2G and 3G, so also does 3G consume more data than 2G. The thing is, if you are not doing any heavy download or streaming, turnoff your 4G network and switch to a less battery consuming 3G network.

Your software isn’t up-to-date. It is possible that there is a bug in your software that is making it drain your battery, and the programmers have improved on it. You’d need to upgrade to the latest version.

Your phone has hardware issues. Yes, hardware issues can lead to your phone going dead real quick. Getting a professional opinion on things is a good step to take.

Apps and data are automatically syncing. When you are automatically syncing your photos, videos, apps, music, and app data, then your phone battery is likely to go off faster.

Using battery savers. I don’t like this apps, and neither should you. They claim to save your battery, but in the end keep running in the background and consume a lot of power.

Using resource intensive apps. When you are making use of resource intensive apps like games then your battery is most likely to die quickly. So if you fall into that circle of game addicts, just get yourself ready to charge your phone.

You’re overdoing it with battery-draining apps and activities. Some battery draining apps are really good, and we can barely do without them, but when you are using them too frequently, then your phone battery is likely to go off quick. Google Maps for instance is a well known battery draining app.

Background apps. This is a top suspect, and you need to be on the look out for apps that are not useful but keep running in the background. To do this, you don’t need to install a battery saver app, but simply use your device apps manager.

Notifications. Yes, when your notifications keep going off all day, you are likely to lose power soon. Notification sounds, screen wake up, and led lights are activities that consume battery, so look into them.
