​​Founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr. Frederick Fasehun has called on the leadership of the Nigeria Police to call operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) to order.

He said the personnel had lost focus and usually acted as if Nigeria was under siege.

Fasehun, who spoke with newsmen in Lagos yesterday condemned clear “breaches and violation of citizens’ fundamental rights on daily basis”.

Fasehun said: “Today, Nigerians appear to be under siege. From the North to the South, from the East to the West, all parts of the country are militarized and turned into a virtual police state.

“The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) has lost focus. Instead of implementing its primary objective of curtailing armed robbery in the country, it has turned itself into an army of occupation, harassing and pilfering money from innocent citizens.

“What we see now is that police arrest and intimidate people into confessing to crimes they know nothing about without respecting their right to legal counsel and representation. This must stop”.

On the state of the nation vis a vis the Democracy Day celebrations, the OPC leader said there was little to cheer.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to “lead all arms of the Executive in the protection and continued sustenance of Nigeria’s democracy, in collaboration with the Legislature, the Judiciary, the Media and Civil Society.”

​Few days after it conducted a test for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, JAMB is set to conduct a similar test for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the disclosure in an interview on Sunday in Lagos.

Benjamin said that the patronage by FRSC resulted from the success the board recorded in the recent conduct of recruitment test for the police.

“The corp marshal was at the board a few days ago, where he expressed confidence in the conduct of such third party examination by the board.

“He solicited for a partnership with the board to conduct the corp’s examination coming up soon.

“The examination is for three cadres – officers, marshal inspectorate and road marshal assistant cadres,” Benjamin said.

He advised the prospective candidates for the examination to adhere strictly to instructions to avoid unfounded speculations.

​Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Nina, has come to the defends of her benefactor and actress, Tonto Dikeh who came under attack by trolls following the fake Fendi T-shirt Tonto wore.

It started after the actress shared a post dazzling in a Fendi faux-leather shirt and rocking a designer bag to match. Although the ivory cutie looked nice, it doesn’t take away the fact that she might have been wearing the fake version of the shirt.

However reacting to the troll comments Tonto Dikeh has been getting after she was allegedly busted, Nina slammed those talking about Fendi authenticity, telling them to appreciate good things when they see one and not try to pull one down with their negative comments.

​My life is hot, and I don’t mean hot in the good sense, let’s just say my life is hell right now.

I deserve every insult or curse I get in this post, as I have insulted and cursed myself as much as humanly possible. In fact, I have cursed the womb that bore me but I’m still in hell!

My name is Tayo, I am into real estate. I got lucky with a mega deal about three years ago that totally changed my life from just a cool bachelor to a very rich bachelor!

Then I became the target of every single lady every where I went. At a point I stopped going to church because they were all making advances at me and I was in love with my long time girlfriend Abimbola.

Somehow, I still cannot explain it. This lady in my church, Ejiro got me hooked.

It started with a simple ‘lift’ and I was hooked. I remember how I kept thinking she was an angel. Drop dead gorgeous, the perfect trophy girlfriend, and surprisingly godly! She was a hottie.

We got talking after the first time I gave her the lift from church, I told her a lot of things including about Bimbo my girlfriend, she told me she was waiting for God’s plan for her life.

To cut it short, perfect Ejiro the hottie visited me in my home one fateful day and before I knew it, we had sex and I was doomed.

Before I knew it, I had dumped Bimbo my girl of many years. I got engaged to Ejiro and married her last year February. My life has not remained the same.

I can’t even describe her now, she does not raise a finger in the house except to paint her face and eat. I got two helps initially, she has replaced them like 8 times, they keep leaving.

Someone once said I left Bimbo for a ‘bimbo’. Luckily for me, she isn’t pregnant yet. I can’t imagine having a child by her. She nags, she curses, she stopped going to church, she hates my family, she sent all my friend away, I have lost many deals because of her!

I already asked her for a divorce twice and she told me she would kill me! I think she means it… Bimbo is still unmarried, I have apologized some months ago and I just wish this witch would leave…maybe I still have a chance with the good woman I left!

​Barely 24 hours after the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, called for application into its organisation, the portal for the recruitment is currently inaccessible, findings by DAILY POST have shown.

FRSC had on Monday announced that it is recruiting “suitably qualified” graduates into various cadres of the Corps.

The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, for the Officer cadre, said “qualified candidates” can apply for employment into the following positions, including; officer cadre, marshal inspectorate (MI) cadre, and road marshal assistant cadre.

He said applications to any of the cadres can be done through FRSC website (www.recruitment.frsc.gov.ng).

However, a check on the portal Tuesday morning showed that the website is currently offline.

When this reported tried to log on to the site while filling this report, a message popped up thus, “Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.”

A quick tech check on the site showed that portal expired since July 2009 and has not been renewed.

When DAILY POST tried to reach the admin officer of the site, Osadeba Osadebamwen, his phone was switched off. Also, an email sent to him was not replied at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, intending applicants have lamented their inability to access the site.

Some of the applicants, while venting their anger online alleged foul play in the ongoing exercise.

One of the applicants, @Dunmayo63 wrote, “I am a graduate waiting for the job you both promised. I am becoming weary even trying to apply for the FRSC job application portal that is not opening.

Another, @fithest vented her frustration thus, “Everything in Naija must be unnecessarily hard! The FRSC recruitment portal isn’t responding; first I got a warning that the site isn’t secured and now I’m getting an error message.”

Pres. Buhari has praised late military dictator Sani Abacha for his work in building infrastructure.

Speaking at the villa on Tuesday, Buhari said that regardless of what anyone thinks about Abacha, it must be remembered that subsequent civilian presidents spent billions on naira in infrastructure yet have had little to show for it.

In a comment that appeared directed at former president Obasanjo, Buhari specifically noted: “You know the rail was killed and one of the former Heads of State between that time was bragging that he spent more than $15 billion on power.

Where is the power?” I have to repeat what I want public to know here. Some of you may not have heard it. Either there is no power in your place or even in the television, I said and I challenge anybody to check from Europe, Asia and America.

Between 1999 and 2014, Nigeria was getting 2.1 million barrels per day at average cost of $100 per barrel. It went up to $143. So Nigeria was earning 2.1m million times 100 times 16 years.

When we came, it collapsed to $37-38 and it was oscillating between 40 and 54 sometimes. I went to the Governor of Central Bank; thank goodness I did not sack him; he is still there!

I went with my cap in my hand but there were no savings, only debt. And you know more than I do, the condition of the roads and some of them were not repaired since PTF days.

No matter what opinion you have about Abacha, I agreed to work with him and the PTF road we did from here to Port Harcourt, to Onitsha, to Benin and so on... On top of other things in the institution, education, medical care and so on.

And now we have to pay the debts and this year and last year's budgets were the highest in capital projects: more than N1.3trillion. Let anybody come and confront me publicly in the National Assembly.


What have they been doing? Some of them have been there for 10 years. What have they been doing? So, really, this country, luckily for me, I said it about 8 years ago that we have no other country than Nigeria, we should remain here and salvage it together.”

​Nigerian superstar, Davido sold out 10,000 tickets in an unknown South American Country, Suriname and comedian Bovi can’t keep calm about it.

Reacting to Davido’s performance in Suriname, which is not located in Africa, or Europe, or the USA, but Paramaribo, Suriname in the South America continent, Bovi who expressed how surprised he was that the audience sang Davido’s songs word for word, said it heaven and hell are the only places left for the Nigerian superstar to perform in.

He wrote as he shared a photo of Davido on Instagram;

​The Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has expressed optimism that the state’s economy will soon record a giant leap with the expected generation of over N70 billion yearly from the state’s Rice City project.

Speaking during the test run of the project at the rice factory situated at the Ayade industrial park, Calabar, the state capital, he said the project stemmed from his determination to free the state from over dependence on federal allocation.

The Cross Rivers Rice is the largest and first of its kind in Africa.

Ayade said the Rice city was one of the signature projects of his administration and will be certified ready for commercial activities in June.

The governor disclosed that the rice seedlings were natural with no chemical, adding that it was time other states and the federal government patronized the facility.

According to Ayade, “When I told Cross Riverians that my ambition was to restructure the state from over dependence on federal allocation, I truly meant it because with projects like this; we are going to generate more revenue for the state…we are partnering with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to ensure that most of the seedlings are acquired from here.”

The governor expressed his delight that the state was on the path of economic independence even “after we lost our oil wells unjustly. We now have an investment that needs federal patronage.”

Ayade explained that should the state enjoy full federal patronage, the Rice City will achieve a yearly turnover of 70 to 100billion Naira.

He thus called on the federal government to focus on the procurement of rice seedlings from Cross Rivers state because, in his words, “we have no competitor”.

He disclosed that everything about the project was wholly local content with no foreign impute, adding that the factory can produce for 24 hours per day.

Describing the project as the biggest rice seedling factory in Africa with a perfect automated irrigation method, Ayade further disclosed that it would employ over 500 workers when operational.

Some state governors, he said, have already indicated interest to place demands.

“The rice seedlings that will be produced from the factory will be called “Cala 77” because it is very natural and totally organic”, he said.

Nigerian activist, Oluyemi Fasipe has called out Senator Ben Murray Bruce over the treatment of his staff by a foreigner.

The activist claimed the foreigner who is an Indian man, happens to be the General Manager of Silver Bird Cinemas. The said foreigner has been accused by the activist of treating the Nigerian staffs of the Cinema as slaves.

This was made known in a series of Tweet by Oluyemi Fasipe earlier today, see Tweet below;

A commercial bus driver, Kenneth Anyanwu, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by a Lagos State Mobile Court sitting in Oshodi, for stabbing a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), official, Olanrewaju Yusuf.

Magistrate F.O. Ikobayo convicted Anyanwu following his plea of guilty to a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace. She sentenced him to one year imprisonment or a fine of N50,000.

The magistrate also ordered the convict to pay N80,000 for Yusuf’s medical bills. Anyanwu committed the offence on April 26, on Ikorodu Road near Palm Grove Bus Stop, inward Onipanu.

Yusuf attempted to arrest Anyanwu for picking passengers at undesignated bus stops between Obanikoro and Palm Grove. But Anyanwu resisted. He picked a broken bottle and aimed for Yusuf’s neck, but Yusuf raised his hand to parry the blow and was slashed in the process.

​Popular singer, Simi has thrown her weight behind Noble Igwe for listing major fraud fronts in the country.

Kikiotolu recalls that Noble Igwe on Saturday disclosed that record label owners, car dealers and club owners in Lagos are major fraud fronts in the country, calling the attention of EFCC to them.

This was after the anti-graft agency stormed Club 57 in Ikoyi and arrested over 12 suspected internet fraudsters.

Noble had stirred controversies and was dragged by some Nigerians for “snitching” on fraudsters after he listed music industry, clubs as major fraud fronts in Nigeria.

However, Simi, who was among those on the side of the media personality, expressed shock that some Nigerians were defending fraud in the country.

The singer took to her Instagram to comment on how disappointed she was, pointing out that if the mindset of the average Nigerian youth supports fraud, then citizens should not complain about how other countries of the world see Nigerians or “whatever mess we find ourselves in”.

Her post read, “We complain about how the rest of the world sees and treats us. They hear ‘Nigeria’ and the first thing that comes to mind is ‘fraudster’ they are afraid to let us in their countries, our passport makes them extra search us at the airport etc..

“It makes me feel so sad and ashamed because our potential is so rich and so overlooked and honestly truly thought we all felt that way.

“So I’m genuine surprised that anyone is rooting for this BS. Is scamming people now ok?
