Swedish DJ Avicii, who has collaborated with the likes of ColdPlay and Madonna has died in Oman at the age of 28.

Avicii’s club anthems include Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, and recently, Lonely Together with Rita Ora.

His representative announced his death in a statement which he said: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.

“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time.”

No cause of death was announced, and Avicii’s representative said no further statements would be issued.

The electronic dance music (EDM) star, who reportedly made $250,000 (£180,000) a night on tour, had struggled with some health issues in the past, having his gall bladder and appendix removed in 2014.

He announced his retirement from touring in 2016, partly because of the health problems.

“I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist,” he said at the time.

Lately, football has been very interesting and exciting. There have been a plethora of fascinating lessons of life from football which everyone and anyone can actually reflect. Here, I bring to you 10 lessons learnt from the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.

1. Manolas & De Rossi:

These two Roma players were the ones that scored the two own goals against the Catalans in the first leg of the finals. Everyone was displeased with these two for their errors. However, in the second leg, each of them scored a decisive goal that was enough to send Barça packing from Champions League.
Lesson : Don't be quick to blame anybody in life. Don't feel offended by how people treat. This is because he who makes you angry today can make you happy tomorrow.

2. Liverpool vs Manchester City

Liverpool eliminated and humiliated the premier league's table topper with class. This feat they couldn't accomplished in the league even.
Lesson : Don't feel intimidated by the mighty of your problem. Face it head on with determination and a single goal- to win. This way, your boldness will scare your problem and it will be easily conquered.

3 . AS Roma vs Barca

Football lovers all over the world, especially Barcelona fans would have been heavily shocked with the final outcome of this match. Who would had a thought that Roma would maul and qualify against Barça. I have never been born the last term Roma even reached Semis.
Lesson : Football is a game of two halves the same way life is. Put the greatness of your enemy behind you and you will see an ordinary enemy that is easily domitable.

4. Roma's chairman

When the final whistle was blown in the second league which meant Roma qualified, the man jubilated in the released video to the extent of getting a fine. Although, he agreed to pay the fine even more with excitement.
Lesson : When you are happy, don't hide it. Let the world knows you really are. Showing your happiness weakens the strength of your enemy.

5. Sevilla's elimination

Sevilla suffered a 1-2 defeat from the first leg in Spain and they couldn't still register a goal even despite their tough fight and struggles in the return match which ended a goalless draw.
Lesson: Life is not all about winning the same way football is not. It's not disappointment to lose, it's just the way it used to be sometimes.

6. Juventus's fans and Ronaldo

When Christiano Ronaldo scored the second goal in the first leg with overhead kick against Juventus, the camera was directed to Juve fans who were seen clapping in a standing ovation for their opponent in what means "No! You're the best.You deserve it". Ronaldo, seen this, didn't jubilate again and instead, put his hand on his chest and bent his head a little, a sign that means "Thank you". Exciting! Isn't it
Lesson : Strive to be successful to the extent that those that used to condemn you won't have a choice than to commend you. And always learn to give unto others what they give unto you- reciprocate the good.

7. Barcelona and Manchester City

Man City: +£354m eliminated
Barcelona: +£171m eliminated
Roma: -£33m qualified
Liverpool: -£38m qualified
Lesson: Just because you attend a public school doesn't mean you can't be better than someone that attends a private school. It's not always about money, it's about your value.

8. Buffon's red card

Being a captain in football simply means you must command the level of respect in all situations on pitch and off-pitch. Buffon was red carded as he didn't show manners when complaining to the referee.
Lesson : I go here by one of my University lecturers' saying... "Don't ever pick up a fight with an authority because you will never win." And always apply sense of humility and diplomacy in the presence of elders.

9. Lucas Vasquez's Penalty

Benatia in the post-match conference admitted that he pushed Lucas a little but he wasn't expecting him to fall. This mistake cost Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo converted the spot kick that heaved the sigh of relief in their fans.
Lesson : Don't be like Benatia who lived in a glass house and was still throwing stone. Avoid taking decisions that can injure you or people around you.

10. Real Madrid!

It took Madrid injury time before they could score the decisive goal that ensures their qualification.
Lesson : Always fight till the end because it's the end that matters. Don't ever think of giving up. Always stay focus in your dream and know that it is the end that justifies the means. Juve lacked this lesson.

14-year-old Brennan Walker, missed his bus and it nearly cost him his life. He went looking for help at a Rochester Hills home on Thursday morning and was confronted by a man with a gun.

Walker was trying to walk the bus route to Rochester High School after he woke up late and missed his bus. His mom had taken his phone away, so he didn't have that with him to get directions. So he knocked on a stranger’s door for help -- and almost paid for it with his life.

"I got to the house, and I knocked on the lady's door. Then she started yelling at me and she was like, 'Why are you trying to break into my house?' I was trying to explain to her that I was trying to get directions to Rochester High. And she kept yelling at me. Then the guy came downstairs, and he grabbed the gun, I saw it and started to run. And that's when I heard the gunshot," he says.

Thankfully, the man missed. Brennan kept running, hid, then cried.

"My mom says that, black boys get shot because sometimes they don't look their age, and I don't look my age. I'm 14; but I don't look 14. I'm kind of happy that, like, I didn't become a statistic," he says in retrospect.

Oakland County Sheriff Deputies arrived soon after to the home on South Christian Hills Drive and took the woman's husband into custody.

Right now that man is being held at the Oakland County Jail.

The retired Detroit firefighter was arraigned Friday afternoon. Jeffrey Zeigler has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder; and Felony Firearms. He received a bond of $50,000, with conditions, and is due in court again April 24.

As a young lad, still in SS3 or so, I was stunned by the sort of politics being played in Ekiti state. So I asked an adult.

Why is politics like this in Ekiti?

He chuckled and said, Ekiti is one of the few states in Nigeria where true politics is being practiced.

I found that reply amusing, cause all I saw in Ekiti was negative politics.

Around that time, the Ekiti people where moaning about how slow Segun Oni was, even though he was embarking on numerous projects. They didn't also like the fact that he wasn't illegally pumping cash into the society.

The Ekiti people made reference to Fayose, a man who got his associates rich quick, a man who had a knack for distributing cash to bike riders. Even though he was the same man who had constructed one of the worst roads in Ekiti history, or how do you explain roads that wear and tear months after construction.

Months later, lady luck smiled at them and Fayemi became the Governor of Ekiti after a bitter battle, both legal and physical. People didn't care how he got into power, all they cared about was that the slow poke was out.

On the day Fayemi was declared Governor, I was at Adebayo junction, and I saw people in jubilant mood, the kind of mood I last saw at Ikorodu after Fashola was declared Governor Elect (Even though the Ikorodu people didn't benefit from his tenure in the end).

For four years, I saw Fayemi shoot himself in the foot and embark on numerous white elephant projects. He was more likely to fail giving the circumstances in which he got into office.

The Ekiti people voted him out, but not without voting in another mistake in Fayose.

What is the essence of voting Fayemi out for Fayose? Where is the liberation?

Fayose was back for no other mission than to enrich his pocket. He got kicked out of office when he least expected, got betrayed by Fayemi, and lost a bid to get a sit in the senate. He needed that seat, he needed the cash.

Even though I one way or the other supported Fayose reelection, it was a mistake I was quick to regret.

It didn't take months or years for me to regret, but just 24hrs after the election.

How did that get to be?

The next day after the election, I was at Spotless Hotel Ado-Ekiti with hundreds of Pro-Fayose supporters. As a non partisan politician, I wanted to see what the "peoples choice" had to say, that was the first time I was to meet him one on one, so I expected a lot.

Morning till late afternoon, Fayose didn't address those if us gathered, all he had time for where his important visitors, who came in with big cars and found their way in.

What I saw that day was a man who was ready to hide under the idea that he was the "peoples man" but in truth had his priorities.

And that is the truth about most politicians in Ekiti State. They don't tell us about visions, or goals. They just sell the peoples man idea to us, and the stereotype 7 point agenda (which was written in the year 1999 and would still work in the year 2018).

I hope the Ekiti people don't fall for this scam, but if they don't, won't they fall for the cash and free food.
Many youths tell me they want the next Governor to invest in Agriculture and all, but I wonder why we don't think outside the box. As a young lad (yes I am still very much young), I dream of the state being a tech hub. Is that impossible?

Tech is the new gold, and Ekiti is blessed with smart youth, and not that much of young farmers. Most of those young men and women into active farming in Ekiti State are more of people from other states.

Tech is my dream, others have theirs, but not many dream to become farmers.
Oh, I haven't really told you all what surprised me about the sort of politics being practiced in Ekiti. Well, I saved it for those willing to read till the end.

In Ekiti nearly everyone is an active politician without another source of income, and that leaves them so so vulnerable. In Lagos State, where I grew up, politics was not the daily job of people, though some still attended political gatherings, they don't depend on it to survive.

A popular Prophet in Tanzania happens to be in hot waters after sharing photos of himself kissing his wife and housegirl on social media.

History was made at the 8th Convocation ceremony of the Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) as a student,
Adio Odunola Esther, graduated with a 4.90 Cummulative Grade Point Average, CGPA.

Esther who will be graduating from the Department of Computer Science, had a very top result, has stated that the fear of failure spurred her to succeed.

This happens to be the first time a student of the university will be graduating with such a high CGPA.

Esther who won a total number of six awards noted that she has failed once in her life while writing some exams, adding that each time she remember this, it always energize her to read more.

“My father always says that no matter course of study you choose, make sure you become a genius, and you are in command of what you are doing. This really helped in my studies. My mother has been supporting with prayers and advice and she has always been there for me,” she said.

According to her, she cannot calculate the hours she reads in a day, but she reads at any given opportunity.

She explained that; “I cannot actually calculate the hours I read in a day, but any opportunity I have to read, I read. At times I read immediate after receiving a lecture before another lecturer comes in. I read at any given opportunity.”

Esther advised the undergraduate that they should never underestimate the power of God in their life, saying that they should never put aside determination, discipline and hardwork.

The Tanzanian government has banned the posting of ‘unclad pictures’ on social media, and it appears to many that the ban is currently aimed at the countries’ entertainment personalities.

Reports states that the Music Regulatory Board of Tanzania has summoned actress and singer, Pretty Kind, to appear before them for posting salacious snaps on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

In 2017 the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) proposed the Electronic and Postal Communications (Online Content) Regulations, 2017, draft.

This meant that users would be held liable for posting content deemed “indecent, obscene, hate speech, extreme violence or material that will offend or incite others, cause annoyance, threaten, or encourage or incite crime, or lead to public disorder, per the law.”

Online radio, TV, bloggers and other digital platforms are required to register with the TCRA.

The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has recently stated that the state needs N10bn monthly revenue to survive economically and further build infrastructure.

The Governor made this known at the Royal Park Hotel, Iloko-Ijesa while declaring open a 5-day Envisioning/Capacity Building Workshop based on 10-Years State Development Plan organized by the State Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget.

He declared that Osun state must raise the internally generated revenue from an average of N500 million monthly to an average of N4.1 billion with a balance of N5.9 billion from the federation accounts and other receipts if the State must survive economically and further build on the established infrastructure.

He also urged the Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) to work hard and raise the revenue of the State for the betterment of the State’s economy, and called on the people of the State to begin to look inward and imbibe the culture of being truthful to their civic responsibilities of paying taxes to coffers of government.

“In your course of planning in respect of this workshop, Osun must at least target 10billion IGR in the next ten years. Osun must earn before the expiration of this administration at least N4.1billion as monthly IGR, it is not as difficult as we feel but we must apply our senses to it.

“If we really want to build a prosperous state as we aspired, thus, we must pay our taxes, God doesn’t support idleness, laziness and indolence, so we must work to meet our personal needs and give to government what it due to it.

“So, we must also use the opportunity of this gathering to develop and provide to our state, a development agenda that will make it virile, viable and successful state in Nigeria.

“If Lagos earned N503.7 billion in 2017 as Internally Generated Revenue, as being claimed by its government. It means that Lagos generated N41.7‎ billion for every month of the twelve months of 2017, therefore, we must struggle to get IGR capacity of 4.1 billion which is ten percent of what Lagos generates every month before we exit.”

The Presidency has in a recent statement asked the General Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Musa Asake to face his religious calling and not to meddle into politics.

This was made known in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. The statement read;

“Our attention has been drawn to reports of a press conference by General Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Dr. Musa Asake in which he passed a judgement on the constitutionality of certain actions of the Muhammadu Buhari administration. Unfortunately, he could (not) cite any valid cases of constitutional violations. President Muhammadu government poses no threat to the country’s democracy and Constitution. There are no cases of any violation of our sacred constitution and there will be none under this President. The respected religious leader should stick to his religious duties and leave politics for politicians.”

It can be recalled that Rev. Musa Asake said the leaders of MACBAN should be arrested and prosecuted for genocide against the Christian minorities in the Middle Belt. According to Asake, MACBAN is supposed to be a business group much like many other businesses and professional groups in the country but that MACBAN now combines bloodshed with its enterprise.

President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today said Nigerians were accepting that his administration was doing its best, even if they were doing so grudgingly.

This was made known in a statement by the President while receiving the Gambian President, Mr. Adama Barrow, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Buhari said his administration had studied the problem of unemployment in the country which he described as one of the biggest challenges, and added that his government was working hard to change the narrative. He said;


“Sixty percent of the 180 million people are under 25 years. They all wish for a secure future. Those of them who are educated feel they are more qualified for employment.

“We have studied the problem and are doing our best to stabilise the situation.

‘‘We took over from a party that had been in power for 16 years. During those years, the country earned an unprecedented amount of money as revenue, never seen at any time before.

“It is noteworthy that, no matter how grudgingly, the people are accepting that we are doing our best.”
