Guess what? They haven't changed. Until a heavy sanction is legislated against police misconduct, this won't be the last gory story.
I hope she gets justice.

GenOrumov:
That was a silly action on the part of the students.

Was stuck in that traffic for hours. I had to call a friend to come pick my car while I left it behind so as not to miss a very important appointment.
If only the aggrieved students understand that their actions have led to innocent persons held hostage in traffic and right of freedom infringed upon.
Their action is similar to that of the oppressive school management who changed the rule at the middle of the game.
The way to go would be to engage a sound lawyer rather than this ineffective jungle protest.
PoliticsRe: Accept Electricity Tariff Hike As Painful Pill – Fashola by FabioPeter: 5:54am On Feb 09, 2016
emiye:
Reason why pre-paid meters should be made compulsory, they should distribute it to eveyone, and the associated costs for payment be deducted through recharge mode over span of years. The 70% that you claim do not pay, actually pay unofficially to some officials pockets. What the discos need to do afterwards is to throw out monitoring officers accompanied by law enforcement officers to arrest those who bypass the system.
I agree, but we must put the horse before the cart. We must ensure compliance to bill payment before fixing new tariff.
Assume of 100 people, 30 pay N1 and 70 pay nothing, doubling the charge to N2 will earn the DISCOs N60, 60% of what they would have earned if charge is kept constant and 100% comply).
The nation is experiencing an economic melt down, increasing the tariff without any sincere measure to bring defaulters to book will translate to more people rigging their meters. Even your pastor/imam might have done the needful.

odeotito:
The downtrodden and the lower middleclass must raise the funds to fix the power mess mashed and served-up by the elite! Surely, more strenous, out-of-the box thinking could have come up with a less unfair approach. For me, a better approach would be make the elite and their neighbourhood pay more.
Why should they pay more? Everyone should pay for what he consumes.
PoliticsRe: Accept Electricity Tariff Hike As Painful Pill – Fashola by FabioPeter: 9:51pm On Feb 08, 2016
70% of electricity users on the grid DO NOT pay at all, it cost less than 1000naira to bypass your electricity meter, yes of course rarely any consequence other than you enjoy free electricity for years to come.
Now 30% pay their electricity bills, sometimes they run out of units and look out at the neighbours who do not pay at all enjoying power supply( they probably plead with them to o help charge their phones). Same 30% change all bulbs to energy saving bulbs and turn off light not in use yet watch their neighbours leave the bulb permanently switched on.
Fashola is fully aware of this ratio and even expressed his frustration. What baffles me is the decision to increase the burden of the unwise 30% who pay their bills. What he demands is that 30% should pay the bill of 100%. This is indeed very silly. I need some common sense hence forth.

There is little you can do about it. Just provide the money based on your expected number and turn a blind eyes afterwards.

I hope fashion recycles back to this clothed phase.

Excuse me, but are you celebrating a shitty pilot?

She crashed.

She failed at what she is paid to do

Now you guys are celebrating her shitty skills
She ditched it. You are made to take a safety induction briefing each time you use the chopper, this is so because there is a chance the chopper develops a problem and the pilot ditch.

Educative is a correct English word.
Thanks for the update, it wasn't in the dictionary ten years ago.
EducationRe: Students Burn Down AAU Departmental Building (pic) by FabioPeter: 7:43pm On Feb 05, 2016
The state must investigate this arson. The culprits should face justice and consequence of their action.
Should everyone suffer for the crime of a few, this ugly incident will definitely replicate itself in future.
EducationRe: Students Burn Down AAU Departmental Building (pic) by FabioPeter: 7:33pm On Feb 05, 2016
Such a shame the few hard working students will suffer the fate of these miscreants.
Until the school changes it's admission policy of admitting low grades and rejects, this barbarism won't stop.
In the meantime if you believe you have a future DO NOT opt for schools like these.
EducationRe: 7 English Words Nigerians Use Everyday Which Don't Exist. by FabioPeter: 6:21pm On Feb 05, 2016
"Educative" correct word is "Educational"

The world's perception of beauty is inspired by the West. You will expect to see a black doll dressed in Hijab but no way, no one will give it a second look.
Nice concept all the same. Keep it up.

CrimeRe: Photo: Woman Who Drugs Her Lover And Steals His $1.5m by FabioPeter: 4:54am On Jan 30, 2016
$1.5m in his bedroom? I thought we had an act on money laundry. This coincides with a period where the government via its monetary policy is attempting to mop dollar in circulation and save the Naira.
The complainant should be prosecuted as well.

RomanceRe: Lady Felt Molested By Male Doctor Who Squeezed Her Breasts by FabioPeter: 10:33pm On Jan 28, 2016
It's very important that doctors explain procedures to patients before they commence and yes, a female nurse ought to be present, this is ethical and commonsensical.
There is an urgent need to review medical practice in Nigeria.

The protest was peaceful and absolute nothing got. Damage in the school
How about people who had appointment to keep but couldn't because of this protest? How about man hours lost to traffic caused by the protest?
A protest isn't peaceful just because it's not bloody, when it impacts on the right of others it's no longer peaceful.
What they want is publicity, going to a media house, creating a hash tag on social media etc would have been a more reasonable option. I hope they learn.

Do they realise that is is an act of terrorism? If they do not care about the right of fellow citizen to ply the road built using their tax, why then should we empathise with them?
I hope a car doesn't hit anyone, else the protest will change theme.
Science/TechnologyRe: Uniben Student Builds Touchless Phone From Scratch by FabioPeter: 5:04am On Jan 25, 2016
Nice innovation, the stand out feature is the touchless control. I think he should focus on this aspect and develop for existing phone coys.
A voice commentary for the video would have been better that the background music. Good job anyway and best wishes.
EducationRe: Oau Students' Union Leader Unjustly Suspended By The School Management by FabioPeter: 6:43am On Jan 24, 2016
cutetopsey:
This suspension should be revisited by the school authorities......Irrespective of what these Union leaders might have done, it shouldn't in whatsoever lead to suspending them for months and consequently affecting their primary assignment on campus......

There should be a better and more considerate punishment for these leaders rather than this so called suspension...

BTW, check my signature on how to get rid of excess ugly belly fats
Did you say the suspension should be reviewed "irrespective " of whatever they had done?
My dear, I have heard only one side of the story and this dudes didn't elaborate on the alleged offence, I believe the school will come up with a rejoinder.
My take is that they should face the consequence of their action, if they feel victimized, report to the legislator for that district or seek redress in court.

3,000 Naira is too low for an antique item. Keep it for another 20 years and you will get the dollar equivalent of your price tag.
CultureRe: How The "ORO" Festival Almost Took My Life; My Story by FabioPeter: 4:44am On Jan 22, 2016
Culture defines us and should be respected. however, culture must evolve, if indeed it it's centred around people it must respect and value the sanctity of life.
These festivals that could involve extra judicial killing are not uncommon, what beats my imagination is that they exist in city centres such as Epe, Ikorodu etc. We need to condemn this evil culture before it condemns us to the dark ages.
EducationRe: A Plea For Help...NDDC has left us hopeless in the UK by FabioPeter: 4:29am On Jan 22, 2016
It's difficult to understand why successive government "invest" heavily on foreign scholarship.
The staggering amount NDDC and state government have ploughed into this would have gone a long way in reviving our failing education sector.
The end result is a brain drain to our nation and an entrapment for the "beneficiaries" who hardly get a decent job abroad.

Congrats on completion of your building? However, you are capable of functioning at a higher level, at least that's what your degree suggests. By the way, who lives in your building?
CareerRe: 8 Annoying Jobs Nigeria Graduates Do In Order To Survive At Overseas Countries by FabioPeter: 3:26am On Jan 22, 2016
No matter how well you justify graduates taking menial jobs abroad, the fact is they are disappointingly doing a jobs that is way below their potential.
Why invest heavily in a masters degree then take a job that requires just a pair of hands and no brain?
