Here is my today's visa transcript:

V.O: (Looked at my i20) I see you have a teaching assistantship, what will you be teaching?

Me: I will be assisting prof. ... in grading students papers, invigilating test and exams, other teaching duties will be assigned upon resumption

V.O: what was your undergraduate Major?

Me: chemical engineering

V:O Where do you work and what's your duties?

I currently work as a process engineer at D***y Industries Limited and stated my duties

V.O: (Started typing for a long time and checking his system, he was shaking his head too and my mind was beating fast.) He asked, have you travelled outside the country before?

Me: Yes, I have been to Ghana

V.O: is it by flight or road and how many times

Me: I travelled by road and that was sept last year and came back same month

V.O: (Went to meet another V.O, he stayed there for like 4mins, I don't know what they were discussing). After he came back, he asked... What's your plans after graduation?

Me: Upon completion of my masters degree, I will be resuming a new position at my current place of work as a senior process engineer and I am going to be on a paid study leave (I brought out the letter, he saw it and said he doesn't need it, I pushed my letter back to my file).

V.O: (Typing for a very long time and checking stuffs on his system) you have been to Abuja embassy last time, what transpired there?

Me: During my last interview, the V.O wasn't convinced that I am a credible student and hence I was refused. I have come to demonstrate my credibility as a student, I wrote GRE and scored 324, had a good grade (1st class) and believe i definitely do very well during my masters studies at Clarkson University. (He nodded)

V.O: (Started typing again and checking stuffs on his system), You applied for safety science at Embryl Riddle Aeronautical University in 2017, why the switch to chemical engineering (For my mind, e don come again o)

Me: That's was when I finished my National Youth Service and was working with a firm so i needed to increase my safety knowledge but since I changed place of work and now dealing with chemicals, I needed to develop knowledge in the area of chemical catalysis and plasma processing which will be needed when I resume a new position at my place of work. (He nodded)

V.O: Do you have anybody in USA?

Me: No, I don't have anybody

V.O: (Typed for ages, for like 2mins and was checking his system, my mind was beating fast. He took my passport and those blue papers, I was like it's finished, another refusal�. Immediately he brought out the white paper and circled a location, then said the golden words) YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED, then passed my i20 and sevis receipt

Me: collected my i20 and shouted Thank you sir!!! I ran out of the embassy and people were shouting what is it, I was running till i reached where I entered cab to my house cos it was like a dream or like i was watching a movie.

You would have gotten your visa if not for that silly, unintelligent lie you made up. Almost every transcript here contains some sort of white, blue, pink lie. Everyone paints their reasons for choosing a school, picking a courses, etc, as if it's their best choice. But they do so intelligently. The interview officers are not fool; they are highly intelligent. You should never have mentioned a student name when they are not actually studying at the school. They always check if it is true. It wouldn't cost anything to say you search your schools online. It would have been better. I hope the consular has not left a nasty remark on your profile.

Me: (this was my planned answer) I got to knownof the school through 2 acquaintances of mine (which wasn’t true) then she gave me the shocker....

Me: I actually didn’t prepare for this so I just kinda gave her two random names.

VO: she typed on her pic and was like she couldn’t find those names in her database...
Me: I was like that’s strange cos they actually studied there....

VO: Why do you wanna study Geography?
Me: (at this point, I was already destabilized as a result of the failed name ish) I gave an answer about my main area of concentration being environmental planning and how this would help checkmate the harmful excesses of urbanization. But wasn’t feeling the session again but just kept hoping.

VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3 schools, IUP, Western Illinois University and Texas Southern University....(although I applied to just one)

VO: Did you gain admission in all?
Me: Yes, I did

VO: what’s your GRE score?
Me: I didn’t take any tests as they were a requirement for admission for the program.

VO: What do you do?
Me: I work as a quantity surveyor in a construction company.

VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My eldest brother

VO: What does he do?
Me: he works as the head of projects in a telecoms servicing company.

VO: Do you have an account statement?

Please I really need your advice..... if I reapply, how would I remedy the “how do you know about IUP” question and in what other ways can I make my general case more convincing.

I want to learn more and be part of the research group, the aim of this research is to synthesize marine natural product and their analogues for the design of drug molecules like antibacteria and anticancer chemoterapeutc agent. I'm already in touch with Professor Pier Cirillo and he's willing to absorb into his research group. Besides this, I will have access to the latest technology provided by bergami learning center for science, innovation and technology were ground breaking innovations in chemistry are carried out, innovations like design of drugs to eradicate leukemia completely, you know leukemia is a very deadly diseases? And another one again is to cultivate plant using hydroponic technology, most of the chief ingredients used in the pharmaceutical companies are derived from plants, this time around I will be learning how cultivate plants in water rather than soil. I'll also learn how to convert dead plants, waste materials into biofuels, you know our crude oil is drying up gradually? So I'll be bringing this into the gas and oil sector.

ME: I'll not keep my mouth shut, after all I talk very fast(In my mind). And again the courses the faculty provides is different from the usual traditional masters program, were bioinformatics, computational modelling, biomedical polymers are not incorporated into the core curriculum, this program is a very dynamic one, it integrates different discipline to make a curriculum.

It is not advisable. Most people who do that give the consular the impression that such money could have been borrowed, or deposited for the purpose of the visa application. It doesn't always turn out well. However, you can do this if the owner of the acct money is to be deposited have been receiving such huge amount before now. Shared from experience of others.
