The humour is so much it's hard to take this serious. When I am ready, I will comment on this. For now, I want to observe and read. I see thee, Queen! sharwama: TO WHOM IT MAY NEVER CONCERN I'm crying and smiling right now and I don't know why. I hate being an empath. I have absorbed so much feelings tonight on this thread. If you follow my posts, you'd realize I have always considered myself a Jon Snow on this thread, I know nothing. I often advised as an apprentice while waiting for the masters to give a better response. I have never argued or fought with anyone on this thread. I have had to keep quiet over certain things that didn't please me. One of them has to do with demanding money for mock interview, transcript review and even writing of SOP (via pm of course) I have reviewed over 80 transcripts in my mail, dem no dey gree me rest, na dem dey rush me ooo But I have never charged anyone for that, I actually enjoy reading transcripts, e dey sweet me like Alomo bitters I used to run away from conducting mock interviews because I thought I was neither good enough nor qualified. So I kept redirecting people on this platform to people I believed were more capable than myself. Unfortunately, some persons would come back with "one person charged me a big sum of money, please just do the mock anyhow you can" I didn't want to argue with them, I couldn't convince them to open up and be brave enough to reveal the name of anyone who charged them, I guess they knew once there's evidence, Sharwama must talk, she is so free. Sharwama is a drama queen, she will break this table. I guess they didn't like the spotlight So I started doing "unprofessional" mock for our people As in mock interview that has no NAFDAC registration number I bought a new sim card, created a WhatsApp account and I have dedicated and consecrated that sim card to NL until I travel to Tennessee( we will find a way) I don't have much time but I do what I can for whoever I can, whenever I can and it gives me unquantifiable joy! Some of you read my diary of gratitude, I wouldn't be where I am now if Texrem had asked me for money before helping me. What he did for me, what he is still doing for me, when I think about everything, I'm like " how did I get so lucky" Let me make it clear tonight, the accused and persecuted "might" have actually charged "some' individuals who sought "his help" but I promise you, he is not the only one. Yes I wrote that. One down, some more to go! There are people here who charge exorbitant fees even for writing statement of purpose, giving fake assurance that their "professional SOP" will foster automatic admission. Oh puhleeze my muse is becoming too strong. Sharwama calm down, easy, easy, take it easy! When breeze blow, las las fowl pink yansh go open. Please be brave enough to call out anyone from this platform that exhibits the character of an "agent". This thread was created to teach you how to do it yourself so you won't fall prey to agents! If people want to help you, they will. No, it is not your right to be helped(so don't demand it!) Ask nicely, some people just love to help. However, if someone puts a price tag on it, it ceases to be help. It is business! If I charge 40k to modify your transcript, please come here and post it "gods of NL, Sharwama asked me to pay 40k before she will help me ooo" and you better have screenshot or audio to back up your claim before roasted thunder from Okija shrine will locate you Ultimately, no matter what happens, through the rain and stormy weather, we are family. We rise by lifting others, we are in this together. Should I also add, we are stuck with each other Our people that have interview this week, please forget about this Africa magic we are doing here Focus and go and bring visa biko. I want to dance atilogu this week on top your success May the force be with you! |

Sometimes last month or so, I posted here that if you are offered scholarship, you should go with the document. All the documents you should have gone to the interview with are listed. Sometimes, lack of homework is what causes the refusals I have seen here. Given the rate at which many students obtain GA, GRA, GTA, etc, I am thinking they are starting to think about scrutinizing the source of the award. And should you not be able to give them a prove, they become uncomfortable. Do you have the GRA offer letter? If not, contact your school and let them understand you have been refused as you could not show the prove of your award. Make sure you have all the basic and required document with you. Sevis Fee confirmation receipt, GTB visa fee receipt, I-20 (signed), appointment confirmation, DS160 confirmation, 2 passport photograph of the same you uploaded online, scholarship letter, sponsor official bank statement. If this visa matters, go back. Chocosmoothie: @shawarma @twoods

Interesting! kidUrbane: @Twoods, I was expecting you to bring something like this up. lol. Fraudulent contracts? there you go again assuming and troubling your mind with what other people do for a living. Damn bro, you need help! You are bitter towards motherland, the citizenry that's just sad. I'll bet your pathetic self can't stand to look yourself in the mirror for a minute and not wish you were someone else. Nigeria where there are young budding entrepreneurs doing really amazing things, breaking grounds, beating odds and making the country proud. Nigeria where we have resilient youths who are continuously striving to achieve dreams. I don't know what part of Nigeria you come from but know this, while you cower and cover your face in shame and don't want to associate with the Name Nigeria. There are Nigerians proudly representing the country, who while the country hasn't done so much for them proudly fly the country's name all over the world, that's my Nigeria! that's MOTHERLAND. My fellow Nigerians, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. This will be my last response to you on this subject, on this thread, you are not worth another response. Best wishes! |

You cannot kill yourself. Do your thing and hope for the best. There are things you cannot change. Changing the opening balance is not something you can do. If I am in your shoe and this person is my actual, real sponsor, I'd keep my peace of mind and go with the statement. Philtos: What if the opening balance on a 6 months SOA is about 76000 and the closing balance is abot 12million... Is this acceptable. |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by fairheart(m): 5:45pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
This is not a strong acct. Better pray not to be placed on AP with a statement like this. It may likely lead to refusal eventually. The total credit is as important as the balance. It is what they use to assess the financial strength of the sponsor--that is, if PLACED ON AP AND STATEMENT TAKEN DOWN. Oasishavenng: It actually does matter because things won't add up. Imagine an account with opening balance of like 14 million, over 6 months interview, total inflow was less than 1 million. So how was the 14 million built.
Anyways, no need to go back and forth again. |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by fairheart(m): 5:30pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
So long total credit for the 6 month period is high enough, you are fine. With good total credit, should you be placed on AP, the embassy will know your Mum has a strong source of income to support you. The balance is not bad. I believe you should get your visa! Now, take your time to prepare very well. Best! Stellyhardy: Good evening house, my interview is in 2 weeks and deficit on my i-20 is 6k (about 2million naira ) my mom is my sponsor but her account balance is about 4.8million naira ...what do you think guys ? can I use it pls ? |

Lols. You think the dream has expired? No way! The denials that shock us between yesterday and today are temporary. Approval rate is increasing comes 24th of June. We shall see! Brown2Green: These VOs can be very funny tho.
I see where people say the VO ' nodded in affirmation' Or was 'looking impressed' or say 'okay'
From my deduction , that doesn't mean they are impressed.
But the number of denials within yesterday and today is not good. @fairheart you need to go and dream a new dream. Your previous dream has expired. |

And what makes you think visa cannot be granted if the student is interviewed next by a different consular? There will be difference when he/she reapply. Don't numb the hope yet. By the way, your suggestion is not going to work. Large dump of money in acct will be worst as this will literally mean the student do this for the purpose of visa. If he/she meet a different VO, the outcome will not be the same. blackmamba147: Another uncle funding problem, I keep saying this is not the way to go yet people be attacking me on this thread for making reasonable points. If you uncle wants to fund you let him advance you the funds before hand, that way you have it in your account and you present your own SOA, especially if you are not a fresh undergrad and been working for a while
NB picking abuja won't make any difference |

It will be two weeks this weekend that I saw a dream related to this. I was at the US consulate in Lagos. A black woman I believe must be American, standing behind a counter without glass as you'd see for consular who interview. We were talking and then she said, "they are everywhere; they are seeing everything...(let me cut out the rest of what she said)". Standing right there, I was a little shock by what she said. In the same dream, I then told myself I guess I have to be mindful of what I post on nairaland. Actually, she was specifically talking about the new team at the embassy that are doing intensified background checking. And in my mind I believe they read this thread as it is one of the major active social platforms Nigerians use. When I woke up, I assess the dream to see its credibility as I normally do. There was no forethought about this in my mind the night before, lest I say this is a thought-induced dream. So, based on what that woman said in the dream, there's a team of combined Nigerians and Americans "watching" What they are watching is what I don't know. Considering the fact that Pres. Trump banned certain nationals of some muslim nations from entering the US, it is normal to have new team of eagle-eyed intelligence everywhere. In my mind, Pres. Trump is aware the US would be attacked by outsiders considering his posture and views of these nations. So, it is justifiable to have a team of eavesdroppers where necessary. In Nigerian case, it may be necessary. But I also believe nobody is in danger; we are not terrorist and not ochestrating anything against the God-blessed Nation! I know the intention of all students here is to go to the US and enjoy the thriving education system for advancement of their career and for a fulfilled life. So, taking my dream as a reality, whoever is watching, hey, we are your friends and our intention for being on this thread is pure. Give my brothers and sisters the F1 visa they need to go America to study. E fun wa ni Visa o. Ejoor! I am not a seer, but I see things before they happen ! LagosismyHome: I think VOs read this thread and wanted to send a message that they are unpredictable |
