PoliticsOkonjo-iweala Must Apologise To Nigerians Over Illegal Withdrawal Of $2bn by fajani(op): 3:37am On Jul 13, 2015
Popular human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has called on former minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to apologise for lying to Nigerians over the illegal withdrawal of the sum of $2 billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA).

According to Falana, having admitted that the withdrawal of the sum of $2 billion by her was authorised by President Goodluck Jonathan and not by the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) as she had previously claimed, she ought to apologise to Nigerians.

The Lagos lawyer, who made this demand in a press statement he issued in Lagos yesterday, also said that the former minister should stop denying her “principal role in the gross mismanagement of the neo-colonial economy of the country and take responsibility for her actions instead of resorting to shifting blame”.

He noted that the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, recently alleged that Mrs Okonjo-Iweala unilaterally approved the withdrawal of the sum of $2billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) “without authorisation, and that in her reaction, the former minister had claimed that it was “false, malicious and totally without foundation”, asserting that the withdrawal of the fund was “approved” by the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).

Falana, however, stated that following the categorical denial of her claim by the FAAC, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, recanted and shifted the blame on former President Goodluck Jonathan for the controversial withdrawal of $2billion from the excess crude revenue account (ECA) in December 2014.

“In denying the mismanagement of the economy, the former coordinating minister of the economy stated that the payments made were used for paying for petroleum subsidies for the Nigerian people and were approved by Mr. President.”

“Assuming without conceding that the release of the whopping sum of $2billion was approved by the President, is Mrs Okonjo-Iweala saying that funds belonging to the three tiers of government could be unilaterally withdrawn from the ECA by the federal government?

Romance4 Signs That He Just Wants Into Your Pant, Not Your Life. by fajani(op): 3:19am On Jul 13, 2015
We’ve all been there: There’s the guy who swoops into your life unexpectedly, flashes a toothpaste commercial smile (Seriously, how does he get them so white?) and compliments the dress you splurged on at Urban.

He knows all of the right things to say, but you hardly know how to respond because you’re too busy drafting text messages to your girlfriends in your head.

You flirt casually for a while and then resist all urges to jump up and down when he throws out the should-vitation: “We should hang out.”

Your effortless, “Yeah, I’m down” is just a cover for “I AM DYING INSIDE.” You exchange numbers and spend an unhealthy amount of time analyzing his Instagram feed.

More times than not, he’s too good to be true. These are the red flags to watch out for when getting to know him and how to tell if all he wants is a hookup:

1. He talks about himself too much.

Nothing is more annoying than a guy who talks about himself and doesn’t make any effort to know you. If enough time goes by and you realize he hasn’t asked you anything personal, odds are, he doesn’t care.

Guys who are truly interested in you personally will try to learn as much as they can about you in order to find common ground.

If he wants more than sex with you, he will, without a doubt, know all of your favorite things and interests.

2. He takes advantage of you.

If every time you hang out, you’re driving to him, picking him up and scheduling your life around him, he is getting off too easily.

All effort should definitely be 50/50. Something is suspicious if whenever you invite him over to your apartment, he has an excuse

Going far out of your way each time to see him is great if you actually want to, but he should be equally as psyched to see you, too.

3. He isn’t all “there” when you hang out.

A guy who texts and absently scrolls through apps on his phone the entire time you’re together is definitely not a keeper. You should never feel like you’re competing for his attention during promised one-on-one time.

You deserve more than someone who only pays attention to you when you’re naked.

4. You get the vibe he’s been there before.

There is a big difference between a meaningful relationship and holding a place as another notch on his belt (“I knew you were trouble when you walked innnnnn…”). Sound familiar?

The “player” type enjoys the chase; he wants you until he has you. If this is the case, then stay one step ahead and move on before you do something you may regret in the morning.

This isn’t to say you can’t be friends, but valuing yourself as a catch, rather than a weekly score will make you much more appealing to the right guy — the guy who is perfectly happy watching Netflix and drinking wine with you.

It is important to be on the same page. If all you want is casual sex, then this may not be an issue for you. Go have fun and remember to 1) always wear the good bra, 2) be smart about it, and 3) stay true to yourself.

As long as you are doing what you know is best for you and looking for people who share your same values, dating will be way more enjoyable and definitely worth it. Also, for every bad date there is a hilarious story to tell at your next cocktail party.

PoliticsPetrocam Rewards Loyal Customers, Urges deregulation by fajani(op): 2:55am On Jul 13, 2015
AS a demonstration of its corporate social responsibility to its host community, Petrocam Trading Nigeria Limited has given out various rewards to the Igando community in Lagos State.

Speaking at the event to mark its first year anniversary last week, the Managing Director, Mr. Patrick Ilo, commended the community for its cooperation with the company.

He noted that the support of the community members helped the company to overcome the challenges it faced with competitors in the area. Ilo suggested that to end the fuel crisis prevailing in the country, the Federal Government should embrace deregulation.

Ilo said: “All over the world, the petroleum sector is not in the hands of the government. People are allowed to bring in the products. That is the only way we can end fuel scarcity biting the nation.

The government should monitor the operators and sanction any erring marketer to ensure that they do the right thing. Let the law of demand and supply take its course and people should be allowed to make their choice.”

He observed that his firm, in order to discharge its corporate social responsibility to the community, has constructed drainage, provided light, and water in the area; and also gave assurance that the beauty of the structure in Igando cannot be compared with what his company plans to do in Lekki, where plans are underway to provide solar-powered light in that area.

To further reward customers on the occasion of the first year anniversary, the company had a raffle draw in which Yusuf Amuda Shittu emerged the grand prize winner of a Kia Piccanto 2014 model car. The second runner won a motorcycle while the third went away with a refridgerator.

Other consolation prizes were given out to many other customers. The Administrative and Sales Manager of the firm, Eyo Oghogho, said the promo was organized as a means of giving back to the society.

While saying that Petrocam company has a mini-gas plant, where people can fill their cooking gas; and a lube, where they can fix and service their cars; and a mini-mart, where the community can purchase products, said that the company wants to allow people at the grassroots enjoy what the it has to offer. Oghogho advised consumers to always buy petroleum products from approved filling stations so as to avoid adulteration.

PoliticsProbe Ekweremadu’s Alleged Forgery, Group Urge IGP by fajani(op): 12:33am On Jul 13, 2015
A group with the name, Friends in The Gap, have on Sunday in Abuja, called on the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to probe the allegation of forgery of the Senate Standing Order 2015 that aided the emergence of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as deputy senate president.

This was contained in a statement issued by Mr George Oji, Executive Director of The Gap.

The group urged the IGP to properly investigate the allegation of forgery that made it possible to elect Ekweremadu as Deputy President of the Senate.

The statement reads in part, “We note the explanations by Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, that every new senate must operate with a new rule in compliance with Section 64 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution as amended to justify the emergence of the new rule book.

“Consequently, we appeal to the senate to conduct thorough investigations to ascertain the circumstances that led to the surreptitious emergence of the new rule book.

“We urge that there should not be any sacred cow in the investigation process. The investigation should also be concluded quickly and on time too.

“We demand that anyone found culpable, should be prosecuted in a court of competent jurisdiction in the country, as there is no immunity against prosecution provided for any lawmaker in the nation’s constitution.”

The group further called for a quick resolution of the leadership crisis currently rocking both chambers of the National Assembly.
PoliticsPresident Obama Arrested After Sending 3 Misiles To Nigeria by fajani(op): 12:20am On Jul 13, 2015
Calling “All Hands”: The Immediate Arrest Of President Barack Obama. “The Sergeant at Arms is authorized to arrest and detain any person violating Millitary rules, including
the President of the United States,” states the senate.gov website.
The Sergeant at Arms, currently Yunglimo, is the only person with authority to arrest a sitting president – if the president has violated Millitary rules – which Obama certainly has.
But what if the Sergeant at Arms won’t do his job and arrest the President when crimes have been committed?
If yunglimo will not perform his duty and arrest the president for crimes Obama has committed, is Mr. Yunglimo not complicit and guilty of a criminal act himself?

SuperSuave:
This is not the first time I noticed some bible verses are actually saying the opposite of another. Isn't the gospel supposed to be preached in one accord? I first noticed that Jesus Christ actually turned water into wine(alcoholic wine not fruit wine cos my Yoruba bible says "oti wine"wink which means Jesus somehow endorses wine. In the same Bible again I saw in Galatians(can't remember the chapter and verse), where the fruits of the flesh were listed, drunkenness was listed also. undecided

Another thing that ultimately made no sense was the whole Old Testament/New Testament conundrum. God actually changes his mind? In Leviticus, God lays down a bunch of laws and calls them “everlasting.” Then in the New Testament, we suddenly hear this:

For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. —Hebrews 8:7

Another one was when God brought a sheet unto Peter which contained various four-legged and two-legged animals and beasts of different kind, then God told Peter to arise, kill and eat. Peter refused saying he cannot eat unclean things, God rebuked him by saying how can he(Peter) call the things He(God) created unclean?

And later I read another verse where God outlined the forbidden animals, birds and beasts we should not eat. undecided

I was confused, so I went online to checkout if there are more Bible verses that contradicts one another, the ones I found are listed below

Atheists should keep off this thread pls

There is discrimination in this case, by man; "drop your believe and accept mine" is a form of discrimination.

Then she should follow her heart... besides why will she be dating two guys at a time... it means she doesn't love any... she might end up loosing if care is nt taken

To my fellow muslim sister, your candid and honest opinion is required and even the brothers too.

I have two suitors, a muslim and a non muslim.

Both have asked for my hand in marriage and have met their respective families.

Here is the challenge

The muslim is married with kids and only willing to take me as his second wife.
We know every woman wants a man for her self alone.

The non muslim have told me I have to leave my religion, the parents even reiterated these on my last visit.

Both are gainfully employed and are serious about the proposal.

As a muslim sister, if you are in my shoe, what will you do?

Brothers, help a sister.
Sister I advice you to follow the non-muslim... Religious is a believe... It doesn't change the fact that Allah is called God.. shun discrimination and enjoy urself with only man that take u special... I am a Christian but I am dating a Muslim, nothing is bad.... Love matters .......

A woman who disappeared in the jungles of northeastern Cambodia as a child has apparently been found after living in the wild for 19 years, police said Thursday.

The woman — believed to be Rochom P'ngieng, now 27 years old — cannot speak any intelligible language, so details of her saga have been difficult to confirm.

"She is like half-human and half-animal," said Mao San, police chief of Oyadao district in Rattanakiri province. "She's weird. She sleeps during the day and stays up at night."

The father of Rochom P'ngieng, a member of the Pnong ethnic minority, said he recognized his daughter by a scar on her back and her facial features, according to Mao San. The father is a village policeman named Sal Lou.

Rochom P'ngieng, then 8 years old, disappeared one day in 1988 when she was herding buffalo in a remote northeastern jungle area, said Chea Bunthoeun, a deputy provincial police chief.

She was discovered this month after a villager noticed that food disappeared from a lunch box he left at a site near his farm.

"He decided to stake out the area and then spotted a naked human being, who looked like a jungle person, sneaking in to steal his rice," said Chea Bunthoeun.

The villager gathered some friends and the group managed to catch the woman on Jan. 13.

"Her parents had already lost hope of finding her since she went missing for so many years. The father cried and hugged her when he met his daughter," Chea Bunthoeun said.

Since being found, the woman has had difficulty adjusting to normal life, apparently because of her long stay in the wild, said Mao San.

Authorities want medical experts to take DNA samples from the parents and the woman to see if they match. The woman's parents have given verbal consent for such a test, he said.
