For those who are still curious about how important the UK address on the TB certificate is, I got this email from my university's international office. ''Morning The address shouldn’t matter on the form – when you fill in the visa form, put the correct address and in the notes section at the end of the visa application, put a note to explain the TB certificate has the wrong address and your new UK address is in the application form Best wishes'' |
@JUSTWISE what a relief! thanks. Did you see the list of my documents, am I good to go? I will print a fresh statement when it's time. justwise: |
@justwise please help. fakmurphy: |
I was curious that was why I asked. I put a UK residential address since I wasn't sure which UNi I'll be choosing then. LagosismyHome: |
Can I do it for all my dependents at the same time in their absence? and must I pay 8900 for each of us? otunbamoteez: |
Is it necessary to change it?

|
Hello everyone, Gurus in the house. Firstly, please I'd like to ask if I should be worried about the UK address on my TB Certificate. Here's the thing, I did the TB test in August while I wasn't sure which University offer I will be accepting ( I have a couple of offers from different universities). So I have just decided to go with an offer from a Uni. in Cardiff but my TB certificate does not carry this University's address but my previous flat address in Scotland. I hope this is not a problem when applying for my visa? Secondly, can I use the bank statement that was printed 3 weeks ago in applying for TIER 4 VISA? (I still have my maintenance funds and all intact in the account). I and my family will be applying together, and these are the documents that I am planning to submit with my application; CAS DOCUMENTS LISTED ON MY CAS BANK STATEMENT KIDS BIRTH CERT. MARRIAGE CERT. & WIFE'S CHANGE OF NAME ADVERT. PASSPORTS LETTER OF INTRODUCTION & SPONSOR (WIFE AND KIDS) TB CERT. I hope you can assist me in reviewing this and give me your suggestions. Thanks. |
Hi, is anyone going to the University of south wales next Jan?. I am going for the two years MBA global and I'd like to connect with fellow students. Thanks. |
Many thanks, I really appreciate your advise. All the best to you too. mamacajah: |
Thanks for your advice. My plan is to convert to Tier2 later after studying not that I am a bookworm or something, and from your explanation is like both routes (MBA and PhD) might offer such. For some personal reasons (Especially financial) I have my reservation for a Ph.D., I do not want to start something that I might not have the financial strength to complete thereby putting all years effort in jeopardy. However, the reason for seeking your advice is owing to the fact that I have had a Master's degree in the UK in 2015, and a little bit worried if this MBA Tier 4 visa would fly considering the academic progression rules among others from UKBA. mamacajah: |
justwise:Regards boss |
Thanks for your help. You have been a good source of information for me since 2014. justwise: |
justwise:Thanks, they have already offered me the admission unconditionally. I was engaged in a 15 minutes video interview and they had me filled a CAS questionnaire prior to getting the offer. |
Hello, pros in the house. I need your advice because I'm in a dilemma. This is my situation; I finished a Masters degree in the UK in 2015 and I have been working in Nigeria ever since. Recently, I received like 4 PhD unconditional offers from unis in the UK { after tedious application and interviews), and a 2 years MBA from one notable uni in the UK. Left to me, I'd prefer to enrol for the MBA ( as a business owner). My question; How certain is it to secure a tier 4 visa for a second masters? ( I'm applying from Nigeria). I have read on gov.uk that anyone applying outside of the UK doesn't need to show academic progression when applying for a second Masters for instance but I still need first hand information. Your advice will really be helpful. |
Good Morning to all wonderful people on this platform. Please I need to book TB test appointment with IOM Lagos but the link is not going through. Please help o |

@justwise, please finish my case. 1. Are you suggesting that your employees does not pay tax?[i] We only pay the FIRS Annual tax return, nothing is payed on behalf of the employees. Are you saying we must apply for a taxpayer I'd for them? How many months tax should we pay on their behalf? Do we also need to give them payslips? Have your company ever sent any of your worker outside Nigeria before? Yes the senior manager always attend conference and training in the UK. |
@justwise 1. Are you suggesting that your employees does not pay tax? We only pay the FIRS Annual tax return, nothing is payed on behalf of the employees. 2. Employment letter, salary account and letter from the company detailing the trip 3. No 4. They need to draw budget for the trip then you transfer the money into their accounts but that needs to be explained in the letter. Have your company ever sent any of your worker outside Nigeria before? Yes the senior manager always attend conference and training in the UK. |

Good morning great people. Last week I asked some questions about the possibility of getting Visa for our 2 staffs who are attending a free tech show in April. After careful consideration of your advice we have searched for a paid tech show coming up in June. The company will be paying the staffs admission to the event, flight, accommodation and feeding. Each of them earn between 300-350k/monthly. So my questions; 1) What are the documents to be supplied by the firm. We usually pay staffs salaries into their accounts without payslips or tax deduction. 2) What are the documents to be supplied by the applicants themselves?. 3) is it a must for us to get them a taxpayer I'd with tax clearance? 4) Is it better to transfer the cost of their travelling, hotel, feeding and so on directly to their accounts and let them handle the visa themselves, if so what are the documents for them to apply with? |
Thanks, so that means we have to find another paid show. I will still come back to ask the questions on documentation whenever I'm ready. justwise: |
Hi great people of this institution, @justwise et all. I'd like to seek some clarification on UK Visa application. By April, my firm is sending 2 staffs to London for a 2 days property investor show, the admission to the exhibition is free of charge so we're only paying the staffs (attendees) for flight, accommodation and feeding. So my questions; 1) What are the documents to be supplied by the firm. We usually pay staffs salaries into their accounts without payslips or tax deduction. 2) What are the documents to be supplied by the applicants themselves?. 3) Although we stand to gain a lot from the event but does the fact that the admission to show is free of charge raises an eyebrow from the embassy?. |
Let me advise you. Getting a UK visa is not about the amount of money in your account but about the combination of some other things. Ask yourself these questions; Are you able to afford this trip without braking your bank account/? How well established are you in Nigeria? How meaningful is your proposed visit to UK? What is/are those things that you've in Nigeria that will compel you to leave UK at the end of your visit? The answers to these question will be your guide. If you read this space from page 1 you'll have a good understanding of the kind of documents you'll need to apply for the visa. Mrkayyyy: |
peng4:The only thing you can do is to wait. On the UK embassy website it is clearly stated that most applications would be assessed within 15 working days and if there's a need for any applicant to wait longer the embassy will send you an email to that effect. The only exemption would probably be for applicants who paid for priority or super priority. |
Chibabe4Christ:Let me weigh in on this. Firstly, there's no such thing as Visa renewal in UK application, that means you must meet the conditions for the class of Visa you're applying at every application. Although, your travel history to UK and compliance with your previous Visa rule can be of advantage in getting a positive assessment that alone can not grant you another Visa. Secondly, if you need 2yrs Visa you must indicate this in your application and pay the correct application fee.You can apply for long term visa even if you're visiting for 2 days now but make sure you show prove of reasons to likely visit the UK frequently in the future. If you fail to prove this you might be given a short term visa and you'll not likely get a refund. Lastly, about money in your account, make sure you explain why (in your cover letter) such money was transferred out of your account. In my opinion, I think you should pay more attention to inflows of funds into your account and be ready to provide substantial evidence to support reasons and origins of large deposits within the 6 months period. |
Hello, great people of this institution. I'd like to know if anyone has experienced this case before. On the 17th of August, I submitted UK visa application for myself, my wife and 2 kids. 2 weeks back, I received my wife's passport and mine with our Visas but the kids applications when tracked on Tls website are still awaiting decision even after 2 weeks of receiving ours. How could this be?. Your comments would be appreciated. |
Thanks God bless you. go4itng: |
Thanks to everyone who assisted in answering my queries. I have another question, after submitting the applications and the payment been made, I discovered that my 3 years old son's appointment date is a day prior to the rest of us ( I paid his application 2 days before the rest 3). I'd like to ask if it's something I should worry about?, because canceling/changing the appointment date will attract lost of 77$ user fee and some other long process. |
