Thanks so much for information, any idea on how I retrieve her previous application which was submitted last year. I have misplaced the downloaded copy of the application.

Thanks.

Same process. Same documents. Hope her 4 month stay won't be an issue...

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out again regarding a matter concerning my mother-in-law's visit. Last February, we successfully secured a six-month visa for her to come and assist us with the kids. She arrived in March and returned to Nigeria in July, meaning she stayed with us for a total of four months.

Now, we're looking into bringing her back again, this time on a two-year visa. We understand the limitation of each visit being no more than 180 days. My wife will be the sole sponsor of this trip, and similar to last year, we've already saved £5000. She'll be staying in our flat during her visit, and all she requires are tickets and food.

I would also appreciate any information regarding potential updates or changes in the UK visa application process since last year. Additionally, is it possible to retrieve the previous application we submitted? I seem to have misplaced the downloaded file from my PC.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out because I've been facing some challenges in sourcing prescribed medication for the past two weeks. Unfortunately, all my usual vendors have informed me that I must wait for 14 days before placing an order.

However, I've run out of my supply and don't have enough to last for another two weeks. I'm in urgent need of these medications and would greatly appreciate any assistance or recommendations for reliable online pharmacies or suppliers.

If possible, I would prefer delivery to my location in Ibadan, at 10 LADOKE AKINTOLA AVENUE, New Bodija, Ibadan.

Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can provide.

thanks. I will look into that

Thanks

Ok, so who would stay with the kids when she is gone?

You can’t be paying 100k weekly into her account as the ECO would spot this. That’s not advisable. 100k monthly should be appropriate. How much is her opening balance? The ECO would put this into consideration. If the other kids equally gift her money for upkeep monthly, that should be noted as well. But again, my problem is that if she is receiving 100k from you and most likely she will receive more from her other kids. Which means she will probably be earning more than 200k every month. So her spending only 40k monthly would be an issue though (my own opinion). But if you choose to go with it, ensure that when all her outflow is calculated every month, it should amount to 30k - 40k just like you have stated. Note: her opening balance would be highly put into consideration in this case.

I get the savings part between you and your wife, but you sending it back to your wife at this point my just be a wrong move. My opinion is that you leave it in the account and start running the account from the next month, and wait until six months, else it will look like account boosting just for this purpose. Instead of sending it back to your wife’s account, you could’ve actually just made both of you co-sponsors on her trip.

The thing about trips is that it’s always nice to plan them ahead so all the right boxes will be ticked.. doing sharp sharp might result into refusal, as what you think you’ve gotten right might just come off as wrong to the ECO

The grand-daughters your mother in law is taking care of, do they solely depend on her here in Nigeria? If yes, then what is your mother in law’s monthly income and expenditure?

She is responsible for their feeding most of the time, they stayed with here because their mother works full time and the kids has never start schooling.

The bank balance of 500k, how did she accrue it? Doesn’t she spend at all? If it’s from her kids, how much do they send monthly? All these should be explained in a cover letter.

This is not in account yet, we started paying 100k weekly into the account, she spends around 30k to 40k a month, we do send her and some of her children do too.

I noticed you transferred 5k pounds to your wife’s account, I think that might be used against the application o.. you should’ve transferred that money in her account before now, this can be considered as account boosting o..

Here is the thing, every month, my wife send at some money to my account 1k+ from her salary with the title ''Family savings'' it all in her bank account statement, she has been doing that for nearly 2 years, and that is part of where the 5k comes from since i pay most of the bills. She would not have been able to save if the money was in her account.

I don’t have issues with her photos at the farm as well as her property doc. If she makes money of the farm, I don’t know how possible it is to show the proof of that. Also, that can help by saying she will have to return in time to attend to her farm 👍🏾. Because if farms are left unattended to for a while, she might lose her crops, and of course she makes a livelihood from it as well.

Try to work on all I have touch lighted and I’m sure you will be fine.

@Mrmoney90 @justwise
Thank you for providing this platform and for your continued efforts in helping people. I am writing to seek your advice regarding a Visitor’s Visa application for my mother-in-law to the UK.

To give a quick recap, my wife and I and our kids have been living in the UK for over two years, with my wife working full-time in the healthcare industry and holding a skilled worker visa, while I am a dependent spouse on the same visa, working as a freelance digital tech consultant and managing our company in Nigeria. We came here on my on my Tier 4 student visa.

My wife is likely to be the sole sponsor for my mother-in-law, and we have been advised that our company in Nigeria cannot be used as a sponsor.

To support my mother-in-law's application, we have gathered the following documents:

• Photos of her on her farm, where she owns a large cocoa farm and produces other crops.

• Bank statement showing a balance of 500,000 NGN. We plan to gradually deposit funds into her account to avoid arousing suspicion.

• Proof of her taking care of two of her granddaughters, including pictures with her and their birth certificates.

• Age declaration affidavit from the High Court, as there is a discrepancy between the age my wife previously provided on her visa
application and her real age as per her National Identification Number (NIN) and passport.

• My wife's employment offer letter.

• Our house contract.

• My wife's statement of account in the UK showing a balance of 5,000 GBP, which was transferred from my account, our family savings pot.
• A letter from my wife and I explaining the purpose of my mother-in-law's 2-week visit and the reason for the transfer of funds 5,000 GBP from my account to her own.

• My wife’s birth or wedding certificate that shows her link to my mother-in-law

• Mother-in law- house ownership documents.

We would greatly appreciate your help in reviewing these documents and providing any further advice to ensure a successful application. Our goal is to apply as soon as possible so that I can return to Nigeria for a few weeks to settle some business needs.

Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,

Thanks so much.

Mrmoney90:

It all depends on how much you earn actually. If you earn a decent amount, your expenditure as well as your disposable income would be calculated. So it is your disposable income that will determine if you’re qualified to sponsor her trip. Anything from £3000 or £5000 and above disposable income should do just fine.

If it’s combined sponsorship between you and your wife, then you can show both your bank statements and indicating how much you both will be paying towards her trip individually. You can say your wife will be paying for her flights, whilst you pay towards her upkeep and Vice Versa. That shouldn’t be too hard for the both of you to show. Example you can say either you or your wife would be paying £1000 towards her flights and maybe £800 towards her upkeep. Just do your calculations and she is good to go.

Make sure you don’t put her stay to be in months. Example, don’t say 1,2 or 3 months. Definitely she will be given 6 months, so she can stay longer.

Goodluck

Many thanks I think this option will surely works well. How much do you think we need to have in a UK account to fully sponsor her from here. My wife has a full time job and I am a business and freelance person.

Mrmoney90:

Well if you are doing well in the UK, you can invite her over. You just have to show proof of how you earn legally, and if your funds are enough to cover for you and your family, as well as a third party. You can do this by providing bank statement and payslips in her application.

Write her a letter of invite, stating the purpose of her trip, itinerary, length of trip, who will be covering all costs. Since you are the sponsor, you can easily provide these I’m sure.

On her own end, she should also attach her bank statement as well. She doesn’t need to have so much in the account as long as you the sponsor are financially buoyant to cover for her trip. She needs to ensure that whatever information she inputs in her application, the same should reflect on her bank statement. She should provide proof of ties like family photo etc, and also proof of relationship with the sponsor.

If she isn’t working, she should state it. And also, how she survives here in Nigeria should be indicated.

Hope this helps?

Thank you to everyone who offered advice on my earlier query. I'd like to know the best approach to bring my mother-in-law on a visiting visa because it's clear from the responses that we can't use my corporate account in Nigeria to sponsor her for one.

Background:

On a Tier 2 visa, my wife has a full-time job in the medical field. Can she sponsor her mum using the UK bank account? How do we approach it? We need her here in 1-2 months so that I can start to concentrate more on our business back home. I don't have six months to run her account from Nigeria.

Mrmoney90:

Very easy, but the company can’t sponsor her if she isn’t noted as a staff.. it doesn’t matter if the company belongs to your family.

There has to be a connection between her and the company for the company to want to sponsor her

Hi Everyone @justwise and all. I need some help.

My wife and I are making plans to bring her mother to assist us with the Kids in the UK in 2023.

Our situation: My wife works in Healthcare and she has just received her Tier 2 sponsorship visa I'm the dependent so next year I want to be flexible with my staying in the UK as I need to focus on our business back home ( I have just graduated).

So I'd like to ask how to bring my mother-in-law in by next year but she has no salaried job and has always lived within what we the kids sent her.

We have a company in Nigeria that is financially buoyant to sponsor her but I need clarity from the Gurus in the house.

Thanks so much.

There is a mail sent to you after paying for your visa fee for each applicants application. The subject of that mail is like this:

UK visa application: payment confirmation - what to do next [ in this box you will see the applicants full name ]

So check all mails from them with that subject, you will see each saved application with the persons name in the subject. There is a link in the mail for that person, read the mail, you will see a part like this:

What you need to do next

If you have not already done so, you must return to your application to:
