Adeyemi230:I find this very interesting |
naptu2 is a senior man in his late 50s or early 60s. Man really had a privileged beginning to have had these gadgets at that time. I think it was in 1980 our dad bought the first television set in the home; a 12" President Black and White tv. Before now, we go to neighbours apartment to watch tv. Then the stations commence transmission by 4:30pm on weekdays and either 12 noon or 1pm on weekends. Prior to that time, some vertical lines would appear at about 4pm with a continuous single pilot sound. I could relate with the submissions from the op. For radio, dad had this die hard transistor radio that has MW, SW1, SW2 and SW3. In the early 80s, I fell in love with the BBC world service that transmits on SW2 or 3. Next was the VOA. The BBC till date has remained my favourite news channel. Like the op, i monitored the coups of Dec 31st 1983, 1985 via the radio. Thank God for the advance in technology but things have really turned crazy in Nigeria. I pray God to restore the lost glory of Nigeria |

This was very impressive. I enjoyed every bit of watching the trip. You really tried. I know this would add to the tourism potential of the state. I'm already looking forward to taking a road trip like with my family to Bonny Island, just i did when Abonnema town was linked with a bridge from Port Harcourt. Families can indeed take road trips like this with their children to Bonny Island and show them round. God bless Nigeria |

Coming from someone that should be serving jail term. |
Nice update. |
Absolutely correct. Sex is sacred, has spiritual connections, implications. Only those that lack spiritual knowledge will argue or make jest of the pastor. |
It can straighten without surgery. The baby will need supplements like vitamin D, cod liver oil. |

Being a single mum is not a crime. However, just like the guy above said, how much you allow the circumstances that got you to that point affect your psyche and overall well being is very important. Most single mums act on some default settings that are a big turn off for men e.g, (1) their pecking order put the man at the rock bottom after their child, career or business and themselves (2) they feel so entitled and believes the world or men owe them (3) if their baby daddy is still alive, they will always wish things work out, even when another man is by the corner. For men, it is safe if the baby daddy passed on. Besides, una wahala no be here, the baggage is always so much. If you're willing to prove the bookmakers wrong, you can attract very good men. It's plenty of work no doubt on your path. Will you be willing to place your man above your child? If you strongly desire to have a man, in addition to believing God, you must allow the Spirit of God to dwell in you and break you down completely. There's nothing that God cannot do. However, you will need to address some important behaviour in your life. Cheers |
haybhi1:Yeah, there was a time accommodation in federal universities was N90 (Ninety Naira) only in this country. No be lie. |
Lamanii22: Na wa. I guess the can itself add some flavour to moi moi. Pregnant women wahala no be here o. At least you tried being all through. |
Interesting |
naptu2:Thanks so much for this rich history. It's nostalgic remembering names like Sonny Irabor or Vin-Martin Ilo or Jim Lawson or Zachary Mohamed every morning 7am and 4pm for the national network news. I think Ohi Alegbe later joined Radio Bendel in Benin City |
Chucks13:I'm sure the prominent Nigerians are the contractors the former SA helped facilitate their payments while working for the then ED finance. That simply connects the dots. |

"The father of my kids has refused to take responsibility as it has been really difficult for him too" In your other thread, you said your daughter's father is overseas and here, you're saying things are difficult for him. So, how did you know? |
Nice updates. Please keep it up. |
andy244:You know this 55cents cost of refining pms is not entirely correct. If it cost a max of $5 to refine a barrel. Next is to determine how many byproducts that are in a barrel of oil. Now, the maths becomes tricky, cause you have over 6000 byproducts, meanwhile you get 159litres from one barrel of crude oil depending on the cracking technology. At the same time you can't spread the entire $5 on the 159litres, what about the other byproducts. |
God1000:Both sides are doling out calibrated response Israel can take on Iran head on. However, when you have allies with interests in that region, you'll need to consult and calibrate the response such that it is proportionate. Think of the possible response from Iran and how to retaliate. It is even the US that is calming down Israel for obvious reasons - elections are close and wouldn't want distraction. The far right govt in Israel won't mind hitting Iranian nuclear facilities but that would greatly escalate the crisis the US doesn't want. The US would want to choose targets it's most comfortable with. Israel has strategic bombers with capabilities to strike deep into Iran. |

Deepthoughts:Airplanes are designed to fly at much higher speeds than 40 km/h (25 mph). The minimum speed for most commercial airliners is around 250-300 km/h (155-186 mph), while general aviation aircraft and small planes can fly at slower speeds, typically around 100-150 km/h (62-93 mph). Flying at 40 km/h (25 mph) is extremely challenging, if not impossible, for several reasons: 1. Lift: Airplanes need sufficient speed to generate lift, which is the upward force that counteracts weight. At low speeds, the wings may not produce enough lift to keep the plane airborne. 2. Control: Airplanes rely on airflow over the control surfaces (ailerons, elevators, and rudder) to maintain control. At very low speeds, these surfaces may not be effective, making the plane difficult to control. 3. Stall speed: Every airplane has a stall speed, below which it cannot fly. Stall speed varies depending on the aircraft, but it's typically around 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph). Flying at 40 km/h (25 mph) would likely put the plane below its stall speed. However, some specialized aircraft, like: 1. Sailplanes (gliders) 2. Ultralight aircraft 3. Microlight aircraft 4. Some military aircraft (e.g., STOL - Short Takeoff and Landing planes) can fly at slower speeds, sometimes even below 40 km/h (25 mph), due to their unique designs and capabilities. Keep in mind that flying at such low speeds is usually only done in specific situations, like landing or taking off in short distances, and requires highly skilled pilots. Copied |
The Mods should move this to front page pls. This is very serious and funny at the same time. The situation of things in the con3 occasioned by the recent fuel price hike, will start to reset and recalibrate family expense planning. Firstly, many would either move the kids to cheaper schools that are walking distance to the house or to schools close to place of work or business. Secondly, cut down on number of kids and thirdly, raise the age at which these kids start school. What's paying N400k+ for an 18months old child? It's crazy! |
This is a very educative post. Well done OP. |
The IOCs are right on this. To those who are saying the FG should sack the IOCs, I say you guys don't understand and know what you're saying. |
Take some moment off to do an evaluation of yourself. Try to identify the issues or what is bothering you, could be finances, mental stress, emotional stress. Give your life to Christ and pray to God to give you peace, wisdom and understanding. Talk to a trusted family member. May the Good Lord guide you. |
