TENS OF IMAMS, ISLAMIC SCHOLARS, YOUTH LEADERS VISIT OSINBAJO, TELL OF HIS "LOVE FOR ALL NIGERIANS" *VP receives leaders from several Muslim groups across the country *Says engagement with people key, tolerance, unity, vital for peace in multi-religious society *Muslim Students' Leader praises VP for his “invaluable contribution to nation-building” Unity and tolerance are crucial values needed to safeguard peace and stability in a multi-religious society like Nigeria, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. Prof. Osinbajo stated this on Wednesday evening when he received a courtesy call at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, a delegation of Imams, Islamic scholars and Muslim leaders from all over the country. The delegation of more than 25 Islamic clerics, intellectuals and leaders of different groups was drawn from higher institutions, National Council of Ulamas, Qadiriyya Movement, Fitiyanul Islam of Nigeria, Dariya Sect, National Council of Muslim Youths, Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Jammat Tajdidul Islamy, Salafiyya Youth Movement, Imams from the National Mosque and Legislative Quarters in Apo, Abuja among others. Addressing the delegation led by Prof. Siraj Abdulkarim from ABU Zaria, the National Chairman of the Community & Youth Development, (CYD is a public affairs group of Ulamas), the VP also noted that “until you engage with the people, you can’t tell what they and others want.” Continuing he said, "engagement is so important, I believe very strongly in engagement." He narrated his experience since becoming VP on how people welcome engagement by their leaders even in difficult circumstances. At the meeting which turned out to be an exciting interactive session between the Islamic leaders and the Vice President, issues such as how to promote Nigeria's unity were tabled and discussed. The delegation members also engaged in good-natured banter on how the interaction was one among men of God and how the VP and his guests all belong to the same constituency of religious leaders in the country. While welcoming his guests, Prof. Osinbajo noted his delight at the coming of the delegation saying "it is not often that one gets the honour of such a visit." Earlier, one of the leaders of the delegation, the Chief Imam of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abdul Lateef described the VP as a leader who loves all Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic differences. He added that members of the delegation "are eager to collaborate with Your Excellency." According to him, "we are here in recognition of your love for all Nigerians and your belief in the harmonious existence of our country. We understand the kind of love you have for all Nigerians." Abdul Lateef who was formerly Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs also observed that in the VP’S office no less than 18 Muslims were part of the senior cadre of staff including the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Rahman Ade Ipaye who is the head of the entire VP’s staff. The leader of the delegation, Prof. Siraj Abdulkarim also noted that "we are here because we love this country." He added that the unnecessary rivalry between Christians and Muslims has to be doused and called on the VP to initiate a programme to further promote understanding and unity. He also called for a more invigorating fight against corruption in the country. Also in his remarks, the VP asked members of the delegation to suggest ways for the country to attain more unity and promised that the interaction with members of the delegation and such other groups in the country will not be a one-off. Having heard from several of the members of the delegation who raised different issues bothering on the unity of the country, good governance, religious harmony among others, the VP stated after about an hour into the meeting "I am enriched from what I have heard today and I have noted all the issues. I wish we had a bit more time. I agree we should engage more. The issues you have raised show us clearly that the future of this country lies with the elites, especially religious and political elites." Prof. Osinbajo urged religious and political elites to show more responsibility in ensuring peace and positive changes in society. According to him, religious elites, just like the political elites, are responsible for ensuring positive change. He suggested “the creation of a forum of religious leaders who see themselves more on a rescue mission with the purpose of forging more understanding," among the citizenry. The VP also observed that Nigeria is a country with both Muslim and Christian population noting that even in the Southwest, both religions are practised in many families. He then said that "as Christians and Muslims we must preach love and tolerance." In his own remarks, the Chief Imam of Abuja National Mosque, Prof. Ibrahim Maqari, said that they (as religious leaders) also have “a duty to pray for Nigeria” which they have been doing. In the same vein, the President of Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, Ustaz Shehu Usman, commended the Vice President for his “invaluable contribution to nation-building,” while another member of the delegation, Sheikh Dr. Haroun Ajah, the Southeast Coordinator of the Council of Ulama praised the Vice President for being “sound, exceptional and intelligent.” Laolu Akande Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity Office of the Vice President 31st March, 2022 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=281698434134152&id=100068819936024

WibusJaga:Don't muddle up history. Other parts of Nigeria and black race had been celebrating multiple births. Have you heard igbos, Yorubas, igala etc were killing twins before Ms Slessor came? It was limited to the people of Calabar extraction. I wonder how you misrepresent your people to the outsiders just for lack of reading or simple comprehension |

SINCE I WAS ORDAINED A PASTOR IN 1975, THIS IS THE THIRD FUNERAL I AM PREACHING IN. THAT SHOULD SUMMARIZE MY RESPECT FOR DR. OBIORA EZEKIEL MY FRIEND HAS MADE IT! DON’T WEEP FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS GONE TO HEAVEN, WEEP FOR YOURSELF WHO IS STILL ON THE BATTLEFRONT. EVERYONE WILL DIE, DEATH HAS NO RESPECT FOR ANOINTING. DON’T BELIEVE ANYBODY WHO TELLS YOU THAT ONCE YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, YOU CAN NEVER BACKSLIDE, YOU CAN. THERE HAVE BEEN APOSTLES WHO BACKSLID. - Pastor E.A. Adeboye at the Funeral / Commendation Service of Rev. Dr Obiora Ezekiel, Founding Pastor of Christian Pentecostal Mission International. I was ordained a Pastor in 1975 and this is the third time since 1975 that I am preaching at a funeral. I think that should summarize my feeling, my respect for our brother who has gone to rest. I met him a little more than 40 years ago. I had just become the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and I was living in a room in Mushin and he sought me out. I never met him before but he came to Mushin, located my one-room apartment and paid me a visit. Church. I don’t need to tell you what then was my reaction but we became very, very close. I knew Brother Ezekiel, I knew the man who became known as the Bulldozer. Many don’t know the meaning of that name, but he was a terror to demons, he bulldozed them. I knew a man who was like the great masquerade, a man I would describe to you as a very generous man. He was generous to a fault. Throughout his lifetime maybe I preached three times in his Church but I can’t remember how many times I had visited him one on one at home. On my last visit, I arrived very early in the morning as usual because if you live at the Redemption Camp and you really want to save your time, if you want to travel, you must leave before others wake up. I arrived at his place at 6:30 am and we were together for some time but that day I knew he was going. How did I know? We went into his bedroom, as usual, we held hands. I said good morning Sir. How are you doing today? No answer. Is there anything special you want me to pray for today? No answer. Are you upset with me that it has been a couple of months since I last visited? No answer. So the rest of the period I spent with him, my friend didn’t say a word. His face was fixed, suddenly I realized since he is somebody who has seen the unseen, someone who is hearing the inaudible. Church. He held my hand as if to say can you see what I am seeing, can you hear what I am hearing. I had to pray and after some time he reluctantly let go of my hands. A few days later, I heard he was gone. I am happy that all the people who have been speaking before me have been saying don’t mourn Dr Ezekiel. If you want to cry, cry for yourself. Don’t cry for someone who has gone to heaven. If there is anyone who should be crying now it should be you crying for yourself. That you are the one still left in the battlefront. My friend has made it, oh glory be God. I was going to talk about Heaven but the biggest masquerade has already spoken about that, he has been there twice. I have only seen heaven once so the one who has been there twice of course can tell you more. Someone once asked me, Sir, can you tell us what heaven is like?'' Forgive me if I am not preaching this morning. This is not the kind of situation where I want to preach, I want to talk to you from the bottom of my heart, I want you to wake up: those of you who are still toying with heaven, those of you who think you can do whatever you like and make it to heaven. It is difficult to describe heaven, you don’t have the words but I will give you a very poor illustration. I told the story of what happened in 1979. I went to America to attend Kenneth Hagin's Camp meeting in July, summertime. Tulsa that year was declared the No. 3 cleanest city in America, they washed the street every day, not sweep, wash. Church. So clean that if your food falls on the ground, you can pick it up and eat it. We stayed in a hotel where the bathroom had three faucets, one for hot water, one for regular water, one for ice water. The light didn’t blink once. Remember I was living in Mushin. By 9:30 pm the sun was still shining bright. I was there for 2 weeks. Then the time came to come back home, we got to Ikeja and they said: “fasten your seatbelts”. I looked out of the window and saw Mushin, I said “oh God, back to prison”. It is a very poor comparison but beloved if you catch a glimpse of heaven, the only reason you won’t commit suicide is because if you kill yourself you won’t get there. Don’t weep for somebody who has gone to heaven, weep for yourself. Hebrews 9:27 Death is not the issue, everybody is going to die if the Lord tarries. Children will die, old ones will die. My friend Dr Uma Ukpai told you about how he lost his wife, children in one day. He is still here. I lost my own son last year. I know what it is for the son to die while the father is still here. Church. Kings will die, kingmakers will die, Samuel died. Death has no respect for anointing. Elisha died, though there was still enough anointing in his bones to raise the dead. It is appointed to man once to die, you are going if the Lord tarries. The big question is after that judgment. God forgive me, I was so carried away with what I wanted to share that I forgot to thank the elders of CPM. Thank you for standing by the widow your Father in the Lord has left behind, I have heard good reports about you. They say in Yoruba land that the friend who stands by you when you are alive is not the big one, it’s the one who stands by you when you are gone. God bless you, you will end well too. Let me sound a warning to anyone who wants to take advantage of the fact that my friend is no more around, it is appointed unto man once to die, after that judgment. Church. The Bible made it clear that we will all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ that is for those of us who are born again, those who are not born again, you will stand before the White Throne. If you ever find yourself before the White Throne, you are not there to check whether you are good or bad, it is to determine how hot your place will be in hell. If you stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, glory be to God. It means you have given your life to Christ. You are there for a reward. I will talk to those who are before the White Throne in a moment, let me talk to those of us who claim we are children of God, genuinely born again. Let me give you an assurance, every one of us Pastors, Elders, members of the Choir, Ushers etc. When we get to heaven, we are going to cry. Oh Sir, you miss it, is it not written that there are no tears in heaven? Really? Is it not written that God is going to wipe away all tears from our eyes over there. Why are you going to cry? Because when it is time to check your record. It says all your works will be brought forth and tried by fire. Church. Anything you do on earth here with the wrong motive, fire will consume it. The Bible says if your work is burnt, you are already in heaven no problem. But it will be as if you are passing through fire when you see the good that you could have done that you didn’t do. When you see the evil that you did for personal purposes consumed because God is going to judge you not by what you did but by the motive behind them. Watch what you do from now because one day, you will be the one lying in the coffin and someone else will be preaching. As for those of you who are toying with salvation, you think this is all a joke. You know how to mix up with us, shout Hallelujah like us, sing like us, you even know all our songs. There are musicians who take a bit of drugs before they get on the stage. As for those of you who are not genuinely saved, you will stand before the White Throne and it will be that hell is settled. I have not been to hell, God forbid, but I asked God to give me an illustration of what hell is like and He gave me three instead of one but I will only tell you one because of time. There was fuel scarcity in Nigeria in a particular year. It was terrible here in Lagos, so the ‘Kia Kia bus, they were using jerry can to buy fuel and hang it on the bus. ‘Molue' I think that is the name of the vehicle. There was this boy who was going to school, Mama was also going to work. Mama got down in a particular place and the Molue continued to take the boy on the way to school. There was this little bridge at Yaba, as the Molue was descending the bridge, the driver lost control. Church. Molue fell on the side, the only side where there was a door and caught fire. The boy was crying “my mother, my mother” until he was burnt to death. God said to me that is an example of hell. Those who go there, they will cry but there will be nobody to rescue them. They will burn there forever. Don’t weep for Dr Ezekiel, he has made it. Weep for yourself, you are still on the battlefront. Don’t believe anybody who tells you that once you are born again, you can never backslide, you can. There have been apostles who backslid. It’s not everybody who is calling Jesus, “LORD, LORD” that will make it to heaven. Wake up brother, wake up sister. Today as we are rejoicing because one General made it. You better tighten your seat belt that whatever it is going to cost, you will make it also. I pray for you that you will. #ChurchGist

Muslim lawyer at Osinbajo’s law firm counters Kperogi’s claims By Rayyan Alhassan March 25, 2022 Bashir Ramoni, a Muslim lawyer working at Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s law firm, SimmonsCooper Partners, has reacted to allegations of religious bias in the recruitment process of the firm raised by a renowned columnist, Farooq Kperogi. In a widely circulated article titled “10 Reasons Osinbajo Will Ignite a Religious Civil War”, Mr Kperogi alleged that the law firm “regulates” employment of Muslims and that 99 percent of the employees are Christians. “Yoruba Muslims say there’s a “standing rule” in Osinbajo’s law firm, Simmons Cooper Partners, that the employment of Muslims there must be regulated, which has ensured that “99%” of people who work there are Christians. ad ad “In fact, someone confided in me that Osinbajo once asked an employee at his law firm with a Muslim last name, who’s actually a Christian, if he thought about how his name might “work against” him, subtly encouraging him to change it,” Mr Kperogi wrote. READ ALSO: New Tor Tiv ascends throne But Mr Ramoni, who leads Tax and Revenue Practice at the firm, faulted Mr Kperogi’s assertion, saying the firm had employed practicing Muslims and does not discriminate against them. “All allegations that suggest that SimmonsCooper Partners discriminates against Muslims are false and mischievous. It is public knowledge that entry into SimmonsCooper Partners is attained through a transparent and competitive process devoid of any religious or ethnic considerations. The firm has employed practising Muslims and does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender or any other ground. Today, I am one of the partners in the firm and I started as a pupil counsel in 2008, and have risen through the ranks to the firm’s leadership. “Also, one of the longest serving staff members in the firm, Ismaila Aromire is a practising Muslim whom the firm is very grateful to for his long years of service. When Prof Osinbajo was with the firm as Senior Partner, we Muslims, got promoted to different cadres as at when due along, with our peers who are Christians. READ ALSO: JUST IN: Buhari presides over virtual FEC meeting, Agric, Works/Housing ministries, others make presentations “The malicious nature of the allegation becomes obvious when you examine the spurious claim that Prof Osinbajo had a conversation with someone encouraging the individual to change a muslim name. This is false as there is no such person on the record of the firm and Prof Osinbajo never got involved in the employment process. There is no one that fits the description of a Muslim convert who was being goaded to change his/ her name to a Christian sounding name. This is a blatant lie that indicates the vile nature of the proponent. “As a practising Muslim from birth and till date and a pioneer staff of SimmonsCooper Partners, I have only grown in the firm and not discriminated against. We all have worked closely with this amiable man of repute for over a decade. He never for once took any decision that affected our faith and the practice of our religion. On the contrary, it was because of the Muslim faithful that Prof Osinbajo required the firm to start the weekly case review meetings earlier while also shortening it for Muslim staff in the firm to observe Jumu’ah service on Fridays. READ ALSO: Osinbajo presides over virtual NEC meeting “The firm also undertakes the SimmonsCooper Advocacy Initiative which is a biennial competition for law students. It is a matter of the public record that both the selection of participants and judges reflect merit and diversity. In the 2021 Edition, out of the five judges (including a sitting judge, Hon. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court), two were Muslims (Bashira Hassan and Balkisu Saidu),” Mr Ramoni said. https://dailynigerian.com/muslim-lawyer-osinbajos-law/
