Link building is a very time-consuming activity. That’s why you have to be very careful if you don’t want all your efforts to be in vain. One important thing you should bear in mind is this: One quality backlinks is worth more than a 100 spammy backlinks. The 7 tips below will help you build quality backlinks and ensure that your time is not wasted.

1. Pages have PageRank (PR), Not Websites:
Here is where a lot of Nigerian bloggers get it wrong. If the homepage of a site is PR 5, some bloggers tend to assume that every other page on the site is PR 5. But unknown to them, that site can still have a lot of pages that have lower PageRank, and some pages can even be PR 0!

So while building backlinks, look at the PR of the page the backlink is coming from. Don’t look at the PR of the home page.

2. Vary your Anchor Text:
Another important thing is the words you use in the anchor text of your backlink. Due to the Google over-optimization penalty, you have to vary the words you use in the anchor texts. There are several ways to do this. Let’s look at them while assuming that our main target keyphrase is “dog potty training”.

• Use Related Phrases: e.g. dog toilet training, potty training a dog etc. You can get a lot of related phrases from the Google keyword tool (Now Google Keyword Planner).

• Use Generic Words: e.g. click here, here’s the link, this article, read more etc.

• Use your URL: e.g. read more about it at <a href..>Bleep.com</a>.

3. Get both Dofollow & Nofollow Backlinks:
Definition: A nofollow backlink is a backlink that has the nofollow attribute. This type of link will not increase you Google ranking. On the other hand, a dofollow backlink is just a normal link and it can help your ranking.

Some think that nofollow backlinks are a taboo but they’re not. Remember that search engines want to see natural link profile and you’ll satisfy this want if you acquire both dofollow and nofollow backlinks.

4. Get Quality Backlinks:
A quality backlink is a backlink from a page that has high PageRank, useful content, and traffic. This is the type of links you should strive to get. Avoid spammy links like the ones created by automation tools. In case you don’t know, spammy backlinks can now hurt your entire site. That is why Google launched the disavow link tool.

5. Keep Building Backlinks:
Build as many backlinks as possible. If time and resources will permit you, keep building even after you have achieved the number one spot in search result. You don’t know what your competitors are doing. Also, identify your best performing pages and keep pumping links into them.

6. Deep Linking Strategy:
Don’t build links only to your home page. The best practice is to build links to both the homepage and subpages.

7. Relevancy:
The pages you get links from should be relevant to the topic of your page. For example, if you have a page on dog training, don’t go and place your links on pages that talks about hair dressing, body building or weight loss.

Hello Nairalanders, I’ll like to share with you this tip on article optimization. If you want your article to appear on the first page of Google, read on. I’ll assume that you’ve already:

1. found a profitable niche with low or medium competition and
2. do a proper keyword research

Now you just want to optimize your article for one particular keyword you just found. But wait, what do I mean by: optimize your article? Here is what is means:

Assuming you want to optimize an article for “how to make money online”, what this mean is that you’ll use the phrase several times in your article. You’ll also insert the phrase in places like the page title, subheadings (h2), alt tags etc. Doing so will make your article to rank higher in Google.

While optimizing your article, don’t just focus on a single keyword. You’ll do better if you optimize an article for more than one keyphrases. Below are 2 types of keyphrases you can use while optimizing your article.

1. Related Phrases: You can get a lot of related phrases from the Google keyword tool. If your main keyphrase is “how to make money online”, related phrases will include “earn money online, make money on the internet, make dollars online etc”.

2. Semantically Related Phrases: These are phrases that will naturally appear on pages that talk about your main keyphrase. For example, a page about Jaguar (a car) will naturally contain words like wheel, dashboard, steering etc. These words are said to be semantically related to Jaguar car. In the same way, an article on “how to make money online” will likely contain keywords like online income, online business, job etc.

You can find semantic words by using the Google keyword tool to extract the keywords from your competitors’ pages.

In this short thread, I want to share some tips that will help your site to rank high in Google.

If you have a website and you want it to appear in Google, you have to build backlinks to it. Now let’s assume that you want to rank for the keyphrase: “dog toilet training”. That is, whenever somebody searches for “dog toilet training”, your website will appear on the first page of Google.

To achieve this, you have to use the keyphrase in the anchor text of your backlink (Note: Anchor text is the word or phrase that is clickable). However, you don’t have to over-do it or else Google will penalize you and rank you lower. This penalty is popularly known as the Google over-optimization penalty. You can avoid the penalty by diversifying the phrases you use in your anchor texts. You can do that as follows:

• Use Related Phrases: In our example here, related phrases can include “dog toilet training, potty training a dog, potty train a dog etc”. You can use the Google keyword tool to find such phrases. Note: Google keyword tool is now Google Keyword Planner.

• Use Generic words: You must not use keyword-rich anchor texts all the time. Also use generic words like “click here, here’s the link, this article, here, this article, read more etc”.

• Use Your URL: Here, you simply use your domain name (YourDomain.com).

You can also use singular and plural forms of your target keyphrase. By varying your anchor text this way, you’ll escape the Google over-optimization penalty.

1. Advice: If you need advice on anything, ask members.
2. Service: Let us know if you offer any service like article writing, webdesign etc. You can also hire members.

WHAT TO AVOID
1. Don’t Copy & Paste: Nigerian bloggers are known for plagiarism. We frown on it here. You’ll be ban if you publish other members’ content. Your site must not contain plagiarized content because we want only honest members.
2. Don’t Spam: Don’t spam. This can mean a lot of things. So just use your brain and obey warnings if you receive them.

3. Don’t Scam: Scammers are not wanted here. Your site must be legitimate.

Someone may just want to know more about Antihistamines and may not be interested in buying any product that treat allergies on your site.
Therefore , we re not going to stop at the above keyword "Antihistamines " we are still going to dig deeper for names of drugs that are referred to as Antihistamines. This will benefit us because we are also going to be using Amazon affiliates as one of the monetization means for the sale of the Particular drug to visitors on our website.

What I mean is this. Assuming you finally get a long tail keyword, how do you know if you can rank for it in Google? That is, if somebdy type the keyword in Google, your site will come up. How possible is that?

90% of the time, it is done as a way to collect bribe. The people from the FG will destroy the local transformer and then collect bribe before repairing it. Sometimes they come from PHCN, sometimes they come from other agencies.

Nobody gets power until EVERYONE pays the reconnection "fee". If your neighbor cannot afford to pay the bribe, you either go without power, or everyone puts a few kobos together to pay the neighbor's share.

No sane person would go near a transformer. No crazy person would go through the trouble of destroying a transformer just to leave it untouched. A thief would at least take some metal parts to sell as scrap.

@Sincere9gerian, if you think this practice is "evil" you should face your front and ask your ogas to stop vandalizing the transformers. Maybe if you left your "compound" you would know that this is common practice.

Here's an except from a newspaper article: "But shortly after the transformer was installed, PHCN officials first demanded N100, 000 before they could activate it. Members of the community refused to oblige them. “When that move failed, they demanded to be given extra two units of the transformer but we maintained our stance.”

1. Install WP in a subdirectory
2. Create posts and pages
3. Install plugins and make sure that the site is running fine
4. Log into Cpanel and Move WP to the root directory
5. Use PhpMyAdmin to edit the urls that need to be edited. That is, I remove the now defunct subdirectory where WP was installed from the urls.

Wow!!! I figured it out! Here is what I did:

I went to wp-config.php and corrected the path to wp-super-cache. I found this code:

define( 'WPCACHEHOME', '/home/MY-HOST-USER-NAME/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/' ) and change it to:

define( 'WPCACHEHOME', '/home/MY-HOST-USER-NAME/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/' )

I simply deleted "test", which is the sub-directory I installed WP in.

I also went to my .htaccess file and deleted "test" from the file paths. There was a lot of them.

This is a big sigh of relief. I hope this will help someone one day.

Here is what I did:

Psalms 105:12-15 reads thus

If you study the above very well, you’ll notice he was referring to the whole Israel as anointed so don't localize it to a pastor or MOG no matter how big. As long as you are a child of God, the same Holy Spirit that resides in the pastor also resides in you. God is not a GRAND FATHER. We all are children of God. That is what the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ did for us. Grace tore down the curtain hiding the holy of holies to give you and I an express access to the father. If a bishop can see God, so can you and I, if a pastor can talk to God, so can you and I, if a prophet can hear God, so can you and I my people. Nothing took away your brain and mouth the day you became a Christian so why should you give up reasoning to please a man of flesh and blood like you? That is blind loyalty to a man NOT to God. G.O was redeemed with the same blood of Christ so why should we be acting like the blood that redeemed the rest of us was diluted?

Courtesy demands we avoid abusing and hurling insults at people irrespective of status and for this reason i STRONGLY detest insults on people. Attack issues instead because attacking personalities is an attribute of a small mind. However, we Christians must be known to stand against blatant lies and hypocrisy anywhere we encounter them.

Rev Jim Jones in 1978 led almost 1000 souls on mass suicide hiding under this same ‘touch not my anointed’ defense. If only more people had spoken out, maybe it wouldn't have happened. National Geographic channel ran a documentary on it last year. Do you know how many Americans concluded there was no God because of it? Rev king Burnt a female member to death hiding under this same mantra and his loyal followers are still defending him till today. Would it have been more 'Christian like' for the Christians in the police force to turn a blind eye to that too?

you can install fans, place some palm leaves on the roof or add a thatch roof.
