greatestluv4all: To my fellow muslim sister, your candid and honest opinion is required and even the brothers too.
I have two suitors, a muslim and a non muslim.
Both have asked for my hand in marriage and have met their respective families.
Here is the challenge
The muslim is married with kids and only willing to take me as his second wife. We know every woman wants a man for her self alone.
The non muslim have told me I have to leave my religion, the parents even reiterated these on my last visit.
Both are gainfully employed and are serious about the proposal.
As a muslim sister, if you are in my shoe, what will you do?
Brothers, help a sister. personally ,I have a good xtian frd dt has 2 wives now though not fault of his but d bottom-line is dt one can not read d future,so contentment is paramount and ur happiness. If you feel leaving ur religion won't cause another issue with ur parents, then think twice!! There are many women happy with their husband being polygamous, how many wives do you father has? |

Politics › Re: The Status Of Federal House Of Representatives Speakership by fasbat(m): 5:42am On Jun 07, 2015*. Modified: 11:48am On Jun 07, 2015 |
barcanista: This thread is to enlighten people with respect to the status of the House of Representative Speakership. Earlier today, after reading this thread https://www.nairaland.com/2361982/speakership-gbajabiamila-wins-apc-primaries, lots of people had the false impression that Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has been elected Speaker of the Federal House of Representative. Some supporters of Hon Gbajabiamila are even celebrating, chanting victory songs and calling Hon Dongara to sheath his sword. The status is that there is NO Speaker-elect of Federal House of Representative as at today 06/06/2015.
How The Speaker is Chosen: The Constitution is very clear on how House of Representative Speaker is to emerge. According to Section 50(1b) "There shall be a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves. The position of the law is that the Speaker of the House and his/her Deputy are to emerge by election, and only members of the house irrespective of party affiliation are eligible to stand as candidate(s) and also participate in the voting process. As at today, no such election has taken place.
The Status of The "APC" Speaker Primaries The so-called APC "Speaker" Primary election that produced Femi Gbajabiamila as Speaker is alien to the law. It has binding on no one, not even on APC members, and has no effect whatsoever in the process. Hon Gbajabiamila's emergence as Speaker of the APC promary is nothing but the "advisory" position of the party.
Can Gbajabiamila Lose The Speakership? Absolutely YES! APC has 214 Lawmakers in the House, PDP 121, while LP, APGA and Accord have 10 combined. Of all the APC members, 154 endorsed Gbajabiamila, 61 members boycotted the so called "primary". Hon Dogara will emerge Speaker should the pro-Dogara 61 APC legislators and the 121 PDP members vote for him(Dogara) on the day of the election irrespective of who the other 10 non PDP/APC members cast their vote for. With the adoption of a PDP candidate for the Deputy Speaker position, Ðongara will most likely get the nod of PDP contingents.
2011 Precedent: In 2011 the PDP adopted Hon Mulikat Adeola and the party instructed all its members to vote for the Ogbomoso born Mulikat for the position. However, it was not to be as the ACN/CPC(APC) and rebellious PDP members voted against the PDP candidate, and voted Hon Saminu Tambawal instead. It won't be surprising for PDP to take their own pound of flesh by voting against the official APC nominee.
While nobody has been elected Speaker of the Federal House of Respresentative, I congratulate Hon Femi Gbajabiamila on his emergence as Speaker of Federal House of All Progressive Congress.
God Bless Us All like ur analysis ,however Hon Dogara can never get block vote from PDP being dt Hon Gbajabiamila is well grounded and been around enough to convince PDP members on his suitability. And most importantly PDP are not happy with d role of Sen Saraki with d role he played enroute 2011 election. You can hear Hon Gbaja saying dt he is not Tinubu's candidate and stooge and dt he had to meet with Emir of Kano,Gov Aregbesola and Alhaji Atiku to convince Jagaban on his new adventure,it will be interesting how d power play will unfold on d floor on Tuesday. Regrettably, why is all d fuss about leading NASS? Money? 2019? Power? Don't just grab it! D desperation of Nig's politician is well documented! Imagine some lawmakers threatening to 'move' back to where they came from just because of power tussle in ur party? Very disheartening...... |
