samuelkid192:
Let's compare Big brother Naija and Gulder Ultimate Search and see which is more relevant and entertaining.

For over a decade, the Gulder Ultimate Search TV show aired on our television screens captivating hearts with its thrilling displays, collections, intriguing display as well as daring contestants who participated in the show.

The Gulder Ultimate Search also known as GUS is a Nigerian reality TV series which was created and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc. to promote the Gulder Lager beer.

The show made its debut in 2004, garnering mainly positive reviews from fans and critics alike and featured about a dozen acclaimed editions before it was suspended abruptly few years ago.

The fan-favourite reality TV show is a survival type reality show which showcased the struggles and perseverance of contestants usually about 10-30 persons.

The contestants are expected to juggle different daunting tasks as they struggle against themselves and the wild in their search for a hidden treasure which would bring the winner instant fame and fortune.

Past winners of the reality show have gone on to become instant celebrities making their names heard in their respective fields. Before the show was suspended, it featured a celebrity edition which saw versatile Nigerian actor, Emeka ike emerged winner.

Now BBNaija

BBNaija was conceived in 2006, as a platform to promote the Nigerian brand as well as the rising dominance of the country’s entertainers on the entertainment scene in Africa.
Obi Asika, then CEO of Storm 360, who was the producer of the ground-breaking reality show, once argued that the show was more than putting adults in a house and have cameras follow their every move. For him, it was bigger than that, as he planned to use his then production crew and music to sell the Nigerian image to millions of Africans. But today, that idea had been defeated, and what has become of the show is better imagined than said. While many Nigerians described it as ‘borrowed culture which has affected our morals negatively,” others commended the producers, saying “the show is pretty unique and entertaining.” this show has been described ponographic in nature and not suitable for all.
Many people have critize this show .

Which is more better between Gulder Ultimate Search and Bbnaija?
Which would you scrap and which will you leave?
I don't watch BBN ,what can fa? I detest the show with passion,I can't spend a minute to sit down and watch it, useless program that promotes immorality

I also have Airtel line, and it is a bit faster than my Glo, but they zap data like crazy. Sometimes, they don't even warn you before your data finishes... You can have 400mb one minute, and the next, you get message you don't have data again.

I don't know how Etisalat and MTN are. Guys, which Network do you think I should go for? I really need fast internet connection cos of what I do on Instagram... It has happened so many times after the war, first it was Awolowo that they used his direction to win the civil war and then he was thrown into the corner and milked till they needed nothing from him, then they hounded him till death.

Then it the turn of Benjamin Adekunle, upon all his bravery in killing his southern neighbors to be in the good books of the north, he was rudely shoved aside after the war. They couldn't even promote him, they sacked him and sent him on exile where even on his sick bed, they abandoned him to die.

Then came Oladipo Diya, they used him to calm nerves in a season when they need the south to support the junta, and blam! They claimed he planned a coup, he was shamed and dumped in the dustbin of history till he passed on.

MKO Abiola nko? They allowed him to be in charge and deceive himself that he knew them and they can run things together till the very last minute when they then decided to humiliate and finish him and his beautiful wife.

Do we talk about Shonekan, the one Abacha flogged out of office when he got annoyed one early morning, Buharri was there laughing at the background.

Someone should tell the Jagaban to look at the history books and see that the odds are stacked highly against him. Christianity EtcRe: Is Jesus Christ The Only Way To Heaven? by fasbat(m): 9:15am On Mar 17, 2019
OKDnigeria:
Many people have criticized Christianity and believers in Jesus Christ as being too narrow-minded because we preach that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. They point to the numerous other religions of the world and say, "How can your way be the only way?"

One of the answers to this question is that Jesus himself declared that He was, in fact, God in the flesh.

I and the Father are one. ( John 10:30 , NASB)
He who has seen Me has seen the Father… ( John 14:9 b, NASB)

Jesus did not give Christians any other option but to preach that it is only through faith in His sacrificial death on Calvary that we can receive salvation from our sins.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." ( John 14: 6, NLT)
I
Jesus claimed to be God. We have to judge his statements about himself as either true or false.
The great British writer, C. S. Lewis, explained in his well-known book, Mere Christianity , "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher; he'd either be a lunatic -- on a level with a man who says he's a poached egg -- or else he'd be the devil of hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse."

"You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

So Jesus was either a madman, a liar, a myth, or He really was -- and is -- the Son of God.

It's Not About Me
Some people believe that all the religions in the world are basically the same. But that simply is not true. Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in a personal God who has revealed Himself to mankind. Buddhists and Hindus believe God is impersonal and unknowable. But God cannot be both personal and impersonal -- both concepts cannot be correct.

But Christianity is also different from all other religions of the world in one other vitally important concept -- the idea that God reached out to man to save him because man was helpless to save himself.

Every other religion in the world is based on man's efforts to reach God. These world religions teach that man must somehow do righteous deeds or perform religious service in order to become good enough for salvation. In order to be saved a person must pray a certain number of times, in a certain manner, facing a certain direction. Or he must wear a particular type of religious garment. Or he must visit a certain religious shrine or temple. Or he must worship in a particular way.

Some religions require sacrifice and even the infliction of pain upon a believer in order to become holy in the sight of God. Some extreme religions require adherents to beat themselves with whips or rods to show their devotion to God. Some require pilgrims to crawl on their knees a certain distance in prayer in order to earn righteous points with God. Some religions require worship on Friday; others on Saturday; and others on Sunday.

But in all of this, the striving after righteousness is based on the religious activity of the man or woman. In every other religious system besides Christianity, a spiritual scale hangs over the head of the individual, with all of the sins they have committed on one side and all of their righteous deeds on the other. The person never knows whether they have been good enough, or prayed enough, or worked hard enough to earn the righteous points needed to counter their earned sins.

But the Christian Bible teaches that man is a sinner and could never earn salvation by what he or she did.

As the Scriptures say, "No one is righteous—not even one." ( Rom. 3:10 , NLT)

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. ( Rom. 3:23 , NLT)

We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. ( Is. 64:6a, NLT)

The apostle Paul makes it clear that salvation is available only through the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made when he carried the sins of the world on the cross.

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21, NLT)

Jesus never sinned. So He was the only one who could pay the price and carry the sins of all people who ever lived upon himself on the cross. He was the sacrificial lamb who took upon himself the sin of the people.

This salvation comes only through the grace of God toward man, and we can only receive it by faith -- not by any deed that we could ever do.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. ( Eph. 2:8-9 , NKJV)

No matter how good you are; no matter how religious you are; no matter what you do for God, you can never be good enough, or holy enough to earn salvation.

Any plan of salvation that is based on the efforts of man is doomed to failure. But the Bible tells us that salvation has been made available to us because Jesus came to earth and bore our sins on the cross.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ( John 3:16 , NKJV)

All we have to do is believe and receive what Jesus did to bring salvation to us. God has given us the grace to receive salvation; all we have to do is open the door by faith.

Receiving the Free Gift
Jesus Christ declared himself to be the Son of God, the Savior of the World. Now you need to decide how you will respond to his call to "follow me." He declared that He alone is "the way, the truth, and the life -- no one can come to the Father, except through Me."

Will you take the next step now? Will you trust Him to be your Lord and Savior?

Put your life into His hands now. Do what He asks you to do. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He asks you to believe in Him. He asks you to honestly confess your sins to Him and to receive His complete forgiveness. He has a special gift that He wants to give you -- eternal life.

http://www1.cbn.com/questions/jesus-only-way-salvation
honestly, I need a serious and concrete answer, those that lived before Jesus our Lord and Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) ,how will God do their case? Because there were generations before the 2 and would want to know if God will use different rules and regulations to adjudicate on the separate era....

PoliticsRe: 9th National Assembly… Dogara Moves To Retain Speaker’s Seat by fasbat(m): 6:45am On Mar 04, 2019
Hibiscus50:
Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara is making frantic moves to retain his seat when the 9th National Assembly will be inaugurated in June this year, Reporters  has learnt.

Dogara’s moves, it was learnt, are coming despite the fact that he is now a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP, so far, has a little over 100 reps-elect against the 220 seats of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Although the constitution does not restrict any leadership position in the National Assembly to the party with majority, the tradition has been for such a party to produce the leadership since it has the required numbers to do so.

Dogara became speaker on June 9, 2015 under APC, ‎defying the party’s decision for current House Leader Femi Gbajabiamila to be elected as speaker. Dogara scored 182 votes to Gbajabiamila’s 174 votes, while four votes were voided

In emerging, Dogara joined forces with some APC members at the time along with PDP lawmakers, who gave him overwhelming support. The APC had 213 members at the time, while PDP had about 140 lawmakers.

However, the speaker dumped the APC for PDP late last year, few days to the PDP primaries for National Assembly seats.

‎Sources told Daily Trust yesterday that despite being critical of the APC government at both his native state of Bauchi and the federal level, Dogara is now making efforts to break the ranks of the APC members, especially returning lawmakers, to retain the speaker’s seat.

However, it was learnt that most of the returning APC lawmakers that supported him in 2015, including ‎some from the PDP, are not ready to support  him.

An APC member, who was a staunch Dogara supporter in 2015, said: “We’re very much aware that he wants to recontest for the speaker’s seat.

“He wants to break the ranks of the APC members, just the way he used some of us to become speaker. But we supported him in 2015 because we all belonged to the same party then.

“This time around, he won’t get that support from us, because apart from leaving the APC that made him speaker, he has been one of those attacking our government. We can’t support such a person.‎ Besides, Dogara would have wished PDP to form majority. So, why should we support him?” the lawmaker said.

Another lawmaker, who supported Dogara four years ago, confirmed Dogara’s readiness to recontest for the seat.

“He wants to see the final figures across party lines first. His initial thought was that the margin wouldn’t be more than 10 or 20, but as it is now, the margin is getting to 100. But his new plan now is to break our ranks no matter what. He won’t succeed this time around,” the lawmaker said.

A third lawmaker, who did not want to be named, noted that Dogara could not reap where he did not sow, noting that they would ensure that nobody would break the ranks of APC members.

“He can’t insult our government here and there only for him to turn around and demand for our support. No way. We won’t allow any such thing to happen. We only supported him last time because we were in the same party.

“Let me tell you, even some PDP members won’t support him. I know of two PDP members that called me after the elections and said they learnt Dogara wants to recontest but that they won’t back him,” the lawmaker, who pleaded anonymity, said.

Yet another member, who also got re-elected, said ab initio, he did not support Dogara’s emergence as speaker and he did not see any reason why he should change that decision, especially now that the speaker is in another party.

“The party must be firm this time around so that we won’t have any dissidents among us.‎ But the truth of the matter is that no member will stick his neck out for the opposition because of the way APC stood for all of us, both returning and new members,” the lawmaker said.

‎Our correspondent reports that some of the APC lawmakers that supported Dogara in 2015 are now in the race for the speaker’s seat.

Mohammed Umar Bago, Ahmed Idris Wase, Babangida Ibrahim and Abdulrazak Namdas from Niger, Plateau, Katsina and Adamawa states respectively had in 2015 supported Dogara to emerge speaker. ‎But all of them are now eyeing the Number 4 Citizen’s seat.

Other major contenders for the seat in the coming 9th Assembly are Gbajabiamila and Mohammed Tahir Monguno, who contested for the speaker and Deputy Speaker in 2015 but lost to Dogara and Yussuf Suleimon Lasun respectively.

Allow me to concentrate – Speaker

Contacted, Dogara’s Special‎ Adviser on Media and Public Affairs Turaki Hassan said the speaker was concentrating on achieving the Legislative Agenda of the 8th House and that he should be allowed to concentrate on that.

“The life of the current House still lasts for the next three months and there are many pending issues before the House which need urgent legislative attention including the 2019 Appropriations Bill.

“The Rt. Hon. Speaker is concentrating in accomplishing all he promised in the Legislative Agenda of the House of Representatives. Who becomes what in the 9th House of Representatives is not the concern or business of the current Speaker, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara. You should please spare him from these unfounded speculations.”

However, a close ally to the speaker told Daily Trust on telephone that the speaker will give the seat a trial for a second time.

“The calculation is that PDP may get appreciable numbers, while some APC members may go against the party just the way they did last time. So, we’re keeping hope alive,” the speaker’s ally said.

From the results of the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections, many Dogara loyalists in the APC and PDP are not returning‎ to the 9th Assembly.

Over 30 of them are not returning to the House. They include Jagaba Adams Jagaba, Sunday Marshal Katung, Joseph Akinlaja, Abdussamad Dasuki, Kabiru Marafa Achida, Aminu Shehu Shagari, ‎‎Sunday Karimi, ‎Emmanuel Egwu, Hassan Omale, Benjamin Okolo and ‎Emmanuel Yisa Orker-Jev.

It has become a regular sight. It is the long stretch of parked trailers. They all line up along the stretch of a massive 12.4km of expressway, from Onipanu to the ports in Apapa.

Several bridges along the way are not spared of their presence and enormous weights. The bridges include: Ojuelegba, Abati, Stadium, Ijora, Iganmu, Eko, Carter and Jibowu bridges.

These parked articulated vehicles are also the cause of the chaotic traffic flow on and around these bridges.

They typically cause journeys that ought to be in minutes to last for hours.

Even the government appears incredibly clueless about a solution the situation.

as a stakeholder in the maritime business, I will point out some salient issues, there are 3 ports (2 major, Apapa quay and Tin can) and there is PTML, successive government have abandoned the roads to port to an unbelievable rot, the shortest route from Oshodi to Apapa is through Mile 2 /coconut road but it is impassable, neglected and in serious decay, if you are loading a container going to Agbara, you have no business going towards Area B/ijora road bcoz its a long journey and wrong route, so the only accessible road to the 3 ports is Area B through western avenue, and alas the only road got damaged too!!! And this compounded d situation, though it is under repair by guess who? Dangote! FG couldn't fix the road to the 2nd revenue earner of d govt, another point is the terminal operators, d ports were privatized in 2003/2004 to private entity but they don't have d capacity to handle d deluge of containers coming into d country, Nigeria imports virtually everything, the 3rd issue is the empty containers, the shipping companies don't have regulatory bodies to caution them on where to drop off the emptyies, you can not laden trucks with containers without providing holding bay for the emptyies, the FG should as a matter of urgency send powerful delegation to the ports before the economy is grounded, the only luck they have is that the supposed union for truck owners are fake and self serving, if not they should have caused a major shake in d economy, trust the petrol tankers union, they are the bested!!!!
