I think the desertification of Sahara desert is as a result of climate change. Sahara desertification predates homo-sapien which occurred circa 7 million years ago . Human started the domestication of animals not more than 20000 years ago. if you juxtapose, you will realise that the human had no hand In the desertification of the Sahara.
