Jobs/Vacancies › I've Been Sacked For No Reason by FavoredbyGOD(op): 9:15am On Feb 01, 2024*. Modified: 2:46am On May 05, 2024 |
When Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile Ife Osun was recruiting in 2020, I applied. In June 2021 OAUTH invited us for exam. I wrote the exam and had the second highest score out of over 200 candidates that applied for the same post. I was not offered the job because I have no connection. In October 2022, I saw the notice on nairaland job section that OAUTH is recruiting again. I brought it to the notice of a VIP that I know, showed him the proof of passing the previous year exam since no new exam is being conducted. He was impressed, raised concerns on the issue and I got the job My appreciation post https://www.nairaland.com/1963601/monthly-net-salary-federal-government/1626#121475324https://www.nairaland.com/7675334/ever-gotten-job-via-nairaland#122909569Since 2022, we have not been paid any salary and we keep working at OAUTH. The Minister of Health called us desperate job seekers after we cried out for mercy that we are starving and directed that 1500 health workers be sacked even without been paid any salary. We worked for over a year at OAUTH without salary despite the money they collected for us during verification, the money we spent in relocating, transportation... Our side Hustle is gone, I lost my four years relationship to this. She clocked 30 and couldn't wait again. I know of a colleague who have to abort his wife pregnancy because there is no hope of her catering for the new born. We are pleading We are begging Let them pay us our one year arrears |

Leebeedo: He won't be a dishwasher for life. When I moved to the US, I started as a warehouse cleaner, withing 6 months, I enlisted in the army and now, I work from home (IT). I was fairly comfortable in nigeria before leaving but decided to leave just to give my children better opportunity in life. If I had stayed back in nigeria, my pay would have been around 200k/month now. But trust me, I spend over N1m on giveaways monthly which wouldn't have been possible if I had decided to stay in nigeria. You will continue to go higher |

BlueRayDick: In my opinion , backdoor is getting a job that was not publicly advertised for all and sundry. Any government job that involves somebody somewhere to help u submit ur CV internally , this kind of situation can arise.
For example when Lagos state wants to recruit teachers , LASTMA , LNSC , etc they usually advertise in both newspapers and online, they state the number of people they are targeting at recruiting and all. U know when that is done, they won’t come back tomorrow and claim job racketeering or that the government agency recruited people outside the personnel budget of the government . They have approval from the relevant agencies to recruit and not to publicise the recruitment. No thanks to those who sold slots |

Nairaland General › Re: My Near Death Experience by FavoredbyGOD: 1:07am On Oct 07, 2023 |
dejt4u: Tomorrow, 29th of September is my birthday and I have decided to write about my near death experience.
It was on a bright afternoon, Wednesday, the 9th of November, 2022. I tidy up my desk from work and decided to travel to Ibadan to follow up on the QC assessment my organization had applied for at a government institution in Ibadan. My wife and I also live in Ibadan so I usually spend the weekends in Ibadan and return to work in Lagos every Mondays.
I arrived Oshodi bus terminal around 4pm and I boarded a bus heading to Iwo road in Ibadan. I was the last passenger to board. On approaching Sagamu, we started hearing gunshots from different angles. We were ambushed by kidnappers. The bus driver managed to maneuver the vehicle and turned back. As he was trying to do that, I was hit by the bullet from behind. My life flashed through my mind and all I could think of was my wife of just two months. I was the only person in the bus that was hit by the bullet.
I was lucky to survive as doctors confessed they couldn't believe I can survive. The bullet affected my spine, lung, ribs and some other internal organs. I spent a total of 74 days at the ICU of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu. I further spent weeks at the ward of the hospital.
Chest tube underwater seal was used to drain fluid from my lungs. The bullet was removed after X-ray and CT scans. Also, a lumbo sacral MRI scan was recommended so as to know level of damage to the spine. The MRI scan result showed that a nerve was damaged (cauda equina) and I was unable to move my legs. A spine surgery (laminectomy) was however recommended. The spine surgery was done in January 2023. I was only able to move my right leg effectively after the surgery while hoping for the recovery of the damaged nerve.
For the left leg, physiotherapy was recommended. Presently, I am confined to wheelchair and small movements with the aid of a walking frame and a backslab that is always attached to the left leg whenever I want to move.
At the ICU, the doctors tried weaning me off the ventilator thereby placing me on a tracheostomy (a tube inserted to my windpipe through a hole on my neck by the Ear, Nose and Throat - ENT doctors). When I got more stable and the ENT doctors attempted to take the tracheostomy off, another problem arose. Narrowing of the airway (stenosis). I found it so hard to breathe on my own. I relapsed and had to be intubated again. I was later referred to OAUTHC in Ile-Ife to see cardiothoracic surgeons to decanulate me surgically (tracheal resection).
I was however discharged conditionally in April this year and I was told to come back to the hospital to return the colostomy I have in my stomach. The colostomy is where I am passing the feaces temporarily.
I also nurse a serious pressure ulcer (bed sore at the tail bone) for months upon discharge from hospital. I thank God almighty that I am getting better and stronger by the day. Family, friends and people came through for me spiritually and financially. The love I was shown is tremendous.
Kindly remember me in prayers as I am still in the process of recovery. Thank you for reading through.
nlfpmod Seun Richiez I thank ALMIGHTY GOD for saving you |

fostermd: During my internship at General Hospital, Ikeja( now LASUTH) in 1998/1999,we were doing 80 hours call duty during Surgery posting. Working from Friday morning till Monday evening!
You will still assist with few surgeries during the call duty. Sometimes, upto 6 to 8 surgeries including other minor procedures of suturing lacerations.
It was so stressful I developed peptic ulcer requiring sick leave and treatment. The stress level was huge.
During obstetrics gynaecology posting, the duration was 24 hours or 36 hours but very stressful. We get to carry out about 6 to 10 surgeries in addition to supervising delivery of babies in the labour ward. You monitor progress of labour, take deliveries and repair episiotomy or cervical lacerations. You carry out emergency caesarean sections, ruptured ectopic pregnancy, complicated fibroid cases abd our theatre day is the day after the team is on call. This theatre day is when we carry out elective/ scheduled surgeries and procedures. Typically,we have 4 to 5 surgeries booked for these days, then add these to the number of surgeries that come up as emergencies during call duty.
The pay is poor, terrible working conditions,no accommodation and access to food whilst on call etc.
I salute any doctor or medical professional working in Nigeria.God bless naija. Please Sir I quoted you on a dead thread |

Idowuay123: The last experience I will share today on this, my parents usually take us to our home town in Ekiti state every December. My hometown is Ilupeju Ekiti.
I was in SS 1 then and I had a Girlfriend in SS 1 too in the hometown. This Girl was living with her mum besides my Aunt's house. I went to my Aunt's house and this Girl came to see me. We were both inside the room romancing when her mother came to the window and started calling her name, saying she's been told her Daughter was inside the room with one Boy there 🤔.
Thank God there was another exit door at the back, that was how we both ran out via the exit door and the Girl came to meet the mother we she was shouting at the entrance.
The woman beat her from there to their house😭😭😭. You just confirm that Ekiti ladies like sex |

Idowuay123: Back then during my University days (Unad), I was living at Iworoko and was dating an indigen Girl. I snicked into her room to to till day break as usual. Just around 11:30pm, her father knocked at her door that she wanted to have a discussion with her😃😀.
Thankfully, the room has a window that leads outside, she quietly opened the window, as I jumped out, I jumped inside a drum filled with water 😀😀😀.
I came out with all my clothes wet. I ran to the back of the kitchen because the vigilantes were blowing wizzle.
Atlast, the father came out after 20 minutes and the Girl came to look for me. I still went 3 good rounds that night.
She was a daughter of a prominent high chief in Iworoko then. Lol |
