Tottenham had no answer to the impressive display by the Hammers tonight. Celebration to Chelsea. Congratulations to Antonio Conte.

NYSCWhat's The Most Stressful/Funny Aspect Of Your NYSC National Service? by FavoredGuy(op): 5:30pm On May 05, 2017
As we all know, this one year national service comes with the good, the bad and the ugly. Many enjoyed or are currently enjoying their PPAs while some could hardly forget the type of suffering they went through (or they are passing through) all in the name of NYSC.

About 90% of corps members who did nothing to influence their postings, usually experiences one challenge or the other in carrying out their primary assignment, ranging from language barrier, ethno-religious and cultural differences (including the food most common in their host community), primary assignment itself;- since education sector absorbs more than three quarter of the total population of corps members and we know for sure that not every graduate can teach well because they all must not be B. Ed holders. Some graduates have never taught anybody in their life. So the experience is grossly lacking.

In fact, the challenges are too numerous to be summarized by one person's experience alone. They are unque and specific to individuals and location- varying from person to person and from location to location.

Feel free to share your own, funny, interesting or pathetic as it may be, whether you are still serving or you finished some hours, days, months or even years ago.

PoliticsMoney Laundering: INEC Official Convicted And Sentenced. by FavoredGuy(op): 6:47am On May 04, 2017
A Federal High Court
sitting in Lagos, yesterday,
convicted and sentenced an
official of the Independent
National Electoral Commission,
INEC, Yisa Adedoyin, following a
plea bargain arrangement he
reached with the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,
in the charge brought against
him, former Petroleum Resources
Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke
and two other officials of the
commission, Christian Nwosu and
Tijani Bashir.
They were alleged to have
conspired among themselves to
directly take possession of
N500.76 million, which formed
part of proceeds of unlawful act.
Trial judge is Justice Mohammed
Idris.
The plea bargain agreement is
dated May 2, 2017. The court
arrived at the decision after the
EFCC re-arraigned in absentia,
Alison-Madueke, alongside
Christian Nwosu and Tijani Bashir,
both staff of INEC.
In sentencing the convict, Justice
Idris held that “There is no doubt
that the second defendant is an
elderly man. It is also not in
contention that the second
defendant is a first time offender.
“This court will tamper justice
with mercy. The court hereby
adopts the plea bargain
agreement as the judgment of
the court.”
The plea bargain agreement
stated that,”Upon the conviction
of the second defendant, the
court should forfeit to the Federal
Government all that parcel of land
and its appurtenances measuring
100ft by 100, lying, being and
situate at Taoheed Road, Bufo-
Osho Village, Ilorin-South LGA,
Ilorin, Kwara State which property
was acquired and developed with
N23 million from the proceeds of
the 2nd defendant’s unlawful
acts.”
“That a fine N10 million is
proposed to this court to be
imposed on the 2nd defendant
upon his conviction on count 4 of
the amended charge.
“That in paying the fine of the
sum of N10 million, the 2nd
defendant shall raise a draft of
the sum of N5 million in addition
to the sum of N5 million already
recovered from him vide the
attached draft.”
“That the court shall direct the
EFCC in whose name the draft of
N5 million was raised by the 2nd
defendant to transfer the value of
the said draft to the Consolidated
Revenue Fund Account of the
Federation.
“The 2nd defendant shall within
seven days after the payment of
the fine imposed by this court
enter into a bond with the EFCC
never to be involved in economic
and financial crimes within and
outside the shores of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.”
The EFCC had re-arraigned the
defendants over their alleged
involvement in money
laundering.
But they all pleaded not guilty to
the six count amended charge
made against them by the anti-
graft agency.
Prior to the re-arraignment of the
defendants, counsel to the EFCC,
had informed Justice Idris that the
2nd defendant, Olarenwaju had
indicated his intention to change
his plea from not guilty to guilty
plea and also reached a plea
bargain arrangement with the
commission.
EFCC further informed the judge
that the anti-graft agency had
filed the 2nd amended charge,
with a prayer that same should
be accepted and read to the
defendants for them to take their
pleas.
It will be recalled that at the last
hearing on the matter, Justice
Idris had thrown out an earlier
plea bargain arrangement
reached at by the then convicted
1st defendant, Christian Nwosu
over allegation of money
laundering with the anti-graft
agency which he had earlier
pleaded guilty to.
The judge had clearly maintained
that the plea bargain
arrangement cannot save the
convict from serving a stiffer
sentence.

CrimeVarsity Declares Corps Member Wanted Over N30m School Fees Scam. by FavoredGuy(op): 7:56am On May 03, 2017
A corps member serving in Zamfara State, Fidelis Chalokwo, has been declared wanted by the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, over N30m varsity school fees fraud involving 940 students. Our correspondent learnt that the 940 students of the institution risked being restrained from sitting for the second semester examination. The affected students were considered ineligible by the bursary department of the university to sit for the examination because they had reportedly not yet paid their school fees. According to the Students Union Government of the institution on Tuesday, preliminary investigations into the N30m school fees fraud linked Chalokwo, a former student of the university, now performing his NYSC programme in Zamfara, of executing 70 per cent of the fraud. “More than 70 per cent of the students swindled of their school fees said they paid to Fidelis Chalokwo, who is now performing his NYSC programme in Zamfara,” said Abubakar Lawan, the SUG Vice-President. He added that Chalokwo who was wanted to account for his crime, claimed he had left the country. The SUG VP said the varsity believed the suspect was still in the country and in Zamfara. The Dean, Student Affairs, MAUTECH, Yola, Dr. Haruna Lawan, said over N30m was involved, adding that most of the students, instead of using their Automated Teller Machine cards to make the payments, gave cash to the online vendors who turned out to be fraudsters. He said the least of the school fees involved was N30,700, while other victims of the scams paid as much as N37,800 in school fees which never hit the school account. However, Chalokwo, posting on his Facebook page, said the management of MAUTECH was trying to cover its ineptitude by using the 940 students to make up for its shortfall in revenues. He dismissed any wrongdoing on his part. He said, “The university should instead get the incompetent Flexisaf to account for the 940 failed registration rather than its current manhunt for me and my colleagues. But whatever you want to believe, please, note that my colleagues and I successfully paid your fees and registered for your courses for 2016 session. “Let the FLEXISAF ICT explain the rest. It is a pity that the school bursar or management or whosoever is encouraging the manhunt of students cannot have a deep introspection and get the incompetent FLEXISAF to account for whatever losses the school probably must have recorded. The dubious list of 940 failed registration is the worst conspiracy theory ever.”

Anytime your brain stops doing partial contact, kindly go back and re-read that my initial post to confirm that I was only making fun of the topic because Nigeria as a country knows what to do to fix our economy but because our leaders are benefitting from the situation, they refuse to accept the truth.

Christianity EtcRe: 31 Salient Facts About The Rapture That Will Shock The World by FavoredGuy:
NiMET people may have some explanations to make here.

But to you as a christian, don't allow ur self to be fooled or distracted by any factor. Try and remain on the right track. It's safer than being caught unaware.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ the bottom-line of everyday preaching is as follows,

1. Let us believe what we heard (that's faith and it comes through hearing). Stop being Thomas. Start believing and u shall be saved

2. Let us preach what we believe (that's evangelization). Spreading the Good News to all the ends of the earth. It costs but at the end, it surely pays much more than it costs.

3. Let's practise what we preach (that's living the Gospel/Christ-like life).

I believe doing good pays even if there is no religion at all. Rapture sooner or later, the righteous will enjoy the fruits of their labour.
