Away goal to Man City. 71st minute goal from Leroy Sané ensures restores City's hope of progressing. It's 2:1 (5:6 agg) |
It's Half Time in Stade Louis II. Monaco 2-0 Man City ( 5:5 agg). The hosts now have an upper hand with their 3 away goals which will give them qualification to the quarter finals, in case the match ends with the current result. Meanwhile it's stil a scoreless situation in Vincente Calderon as neither Atletico nor Bayer Leverkusen are yet to find the back of the net. 0-0 (4:2 agg). Half Time. |
Yomiwayne80:Network is not co operating at all but it may improve soon hopefully. Meanwhile, Fabinho has levelled the score for the hosts with a 29th minute strike. It's 5-5 agg and if the result remains like this to the end of the encounter, City are out. |
GOAL UPDATE: Monaco 1-0 Man city. ( 4-5 agg). Kylia Mbappe Lottini has given Monaco an 8th minute lead. Bacary Sagna's name is already in the book for the visitors who need to be very careful to avoid embarrassing elimination from the competition. |
Goal Update: 1-0 (4-5 agg). Kylia Mbappe Lottini has given Monaco an 8th minute goal. Man City should be more careful to avoid embarrassing elimination from the competition. |
XaintJoel20:Did I comment like someone who served or not? If I tell you where I served you will either conclude that I know WHO IS WHO or that I am not telling the truth. But personally I believe strongly in Divine assistance and destiny (not negleting hardworking). I didn't say such a thing cannot happen in this country, but the story still has some questions begging for answers. NYSC categorically states it in posting letter that your PPA that they should not conduct any interview/test for corps members before accepting/rejecting them. NNPC Gombe violates the rule accordingly and must be sanctioned appropriately. Again, NNPC is not in desperate need of 'corpers' that they cannot do without any corper. NNPC is not a secondary school that lacks enough competent personel that they should rely on NYSC. So how come they easily conceded or succumbed to the alleged threat (of withdrawal...) from the state coordinator and still went ahead to conduct exam for corpers.... I maintain, the story is irreconcileable. Guy wake up ooo! |
Monaco progress on away goals thanks to a 3-1 victory tonight which sums up to 6:6 with the first leg result of 5:3 win in favour of the Citizens. All I have to say is congratulations to Monaco!!! Bigger Congratulations to LEICESTER CITY!!! THEY ARE THE ONLY ENGLISH CLUB LEFT IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. How are the mighty falling in England- starting from Chelsea/Man Utd/Liverpool, all not making it at all to this year's CL, to Totteham bowing out at group stage, to more shocking and embarrassing 10-2 demolition of Arsenal and now dumping of Guardiola's Man City in the round of 16. Leicester City deserves a big honor and bonus. The FA should consider giving them bonus point in the premier league for the feat they have achieved so far in this their debut CL appearance. Stand up!! Hehe!!! Stand up for the champions, for the champions stand up!!!.... |
Ngokafor:What else do you want me to say when somebody whose one month allowances, not salary, are big enough to build a village standard well-furnished bungalow, comes here to deceive us that his family house has no floor covering even carpet and that their palour only has those Barber's chairs. Should we just be that gullible? No nah! If he likes, let him show us a rat hole (burrow) as their family bed room in Daura. We know the truth and we know that we know. That's not part of transparency. That's all! |
@Op, Are you related to minister of info? Your sister within three weeks in camp became a family friend of the NYSC state coordinator ? I don't know what free time she had in such a busy-scheduled camp except if she enjoyed some immunity from their soldiers. How many times do you even see the state coordinator not to even talk of knowing that so so so woman is his wife? Again, @op, I hope you too served. If your PPA rejects you, you just need to go back to your L.I or at most Z.I who will repost you to another PPA ? Ok wandering in town, is it a way of finding another ppa? And the coordinator's wife was at the same time wandering in town looking for corpers that were rejected by their PPAs.If you know any lie you add to this story, remove it and then I will believe you. I don't wanna talk too much. But don't believe even all the testimonies in your church. Some may be fabricated for the listening pleasure of the gullible congregation. I arrest my case here. |
And what makes this one a news headline? Ayam not understanding. Before nko? No be Lai go lie give us the outcome of the FEC meeting. He is even more important than the presdent in that meeting, but them for carry on without Lai. I trust him. At the end, him go still cook up stories and give us, even if him no dey the meeting at all. NAIRALAND! I AM HERE SIR!!!! |
unto:Gakiya ne! Eziokwu ka i kwuru. Na true u talk, walahi!!! It's very disheartening and painful. May God help and save us. |
I wanted to comment on this but I said no. I just decided to write something to show that I passed here sometimes in the past. Nigerians are too gullibe and suscestible to deception both economic, political, religious and social deception right from time. When shall we know the truth in this country? Who is fooling who? Religious 'leaders' or the religious 'leadees'? Oh! Sorry, I now remember what said earlier that I didn't want to comment. Make una forgive me abeg. |
In football, anything can happen at any time. The game has not failed to spring out surprises. Leicester City surprised the entire football world last season by winning the English Premier League under Claudio Ranieri, but surprisingly again this season, they suddenly found themselves seriously battling relegation- a development that led to the Ranieri being relieved of his duties at the club last month. The club's decision to sack the manager that help them win a historic title, generated controversies among football lovers and pundits, some backing the club whereas others blame the authority of the club for such a harsh decision. Meanwhile, since parting company with their former coach (Ranieri), Leicester City have recorded tremendous improvement under the interim manager, Craig Shakespeare:- getting themselves out of relegation zone (climbing from 18th to 15th position in the league table) and securing a berth in Uefa Champions League quarter-finals. They have won three out of their last three matches in all compettions, scoring more than a goal in each of the matches (an verage of 2.7goals per match). Now the question I want to ask is this: do you back Leicester City for sacking Ranieri or you see their latest success as mere coincidence? |
collinsVP:Thank you |
Guess what! Leicester City are through to the quarter-finals of this year's UEFA Champions League for the first time in history. They have done wonderfully better than some EPL clubs who have been frequenting the competition without a remarkable success. They are debutants in the competition. CONGRATS TO THE COACH AND THE PLAYERS. Unbeliveable you may say but it has come to pass. They played well and they won well. FULL TIME LEICESTER CITY 2:0 SEVILLA. (3:2 agg). FAIRYTALE SEASON 2 HAS JUST STARTED.. |
Card update: Nasir-second yellow=red (18th and 74th minutes) Vitolo yellow, Schmeichel- yellow, Ndidi-yellow, Vardy-yellow, Mahrez-yellow (90th minute)- for time waisting during his substitution. |
PENALTY SAVE/PENALTY MISS. N'Zonzi's 80th minute penalty was well saved by the in-form Leicester City goal keeper, Kasper Schmeichel. That penalty would have seen tonight's tie heading to extra time. Leiceister are doing their best in all positions, but they have luck to thank also because that penalty wasn't at all near N'Zonzi's. Game on!!! |
Okazaki has been substituted by Algeria international, Slimani as Craig Shakespaea seeks to do more damages to Sevilla's hope of qualifying for the next round. Meanwhile in the other UCL match going on in Turin now, Dybala has given the Old Lady (Juventus) the lead. That's the only goal of the match so far. Juve are on the verge of qualifying for the next round of the competition. |
Another goal to the Foxes. Albrighton makes it 2:0 for the English Champions. Maybe they will continue their last season's fairytale with the Champions League Success. Who knows! They already have one leg in the last eight if the result remains positive like for them tonight- or even gets better before the end of this encounter. It's 2:0 (3:2 agg). Game on!!! |
oloriooko:Well, Leicester is dictating the proceedings at King Power, keeping Sevilla at bay and dominating possession. It's their night so far. For our own Ndidi, he is doing a great job in the centre of the park-forcing Nasir to enter book in the 18th minute. He will grow to be a perfect replacement for N'glo Kante at the club. It's half time with the scoreline at1:0 (2:2 agg) |
do4luv14:No Musa but there's Ndidi. So Nigeria is well represented |
It's a Goal to the hosts! Leicester City take the lead. Captain Wes Morgan did perfectly well to convert Riyad Mahrez's well taken free kick which resulted from a goal-bound effort by Vardy who was then denied by Sevilla defence. King Power erupts in jubilation. Game on! 1:0 |
Here is how the two teams will line up this night, starting from the away side bench. Sevilla substitutes: Soria, Lenglet, Mariano, Kranevitter, Correa, Vazquez, Jovetic. Sevilla XI (3-4-3): Rico; Mercado, Pareja, Rami; Sarabia, Iborra, N’Zonzi, Escudero; Nasri, Ben Yedder, Vitolo. Leicester City substitutes: Zieler, Chilwell, King, Amartey, Gray, Ulloa, Slimani. Leicester City XI (4-4-2): Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez, Ndidi, Drinkwater; Albrighton; Okazaki, Vardy. |
'I came. I saw. I conquered'-Shakespeare. Sevilla came, they saw but they could not conquer the English champions. Does this draw any relationship between William Shakespeare and Craig Shakespeare? The former (William) was a renowned writer who wrote the quoted statement in one of his books, while the latter (Craig) is the new Leicester City coach appointed on interim capacity to guide the first team through the remaining part of this season following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri last month. Poor Leicester City (languishing in 15th position in the EPL table- with 27 points from 27matches) muscled their way to the quarter-finals of this year's Uefa's champions leaugue at the expense of Sevilla- who sit comfortably 3rd in La Liga table. Take it or leave it; like it or hate it, the Foxes played better and deservedly secured a qarter-final berth:-joining other European big names (heavy weights) like Barca, Real madrid, Bayern, Juventus etc in the Friday's draw. Come on folks! They deserve commendation! They are gradually writing the introductory part of Fairytale episode II. This one, the entire Europe will read it starting from Spain. They are not a one-man club. They believe in themselves. Even if it ends in the next round, they have tried. Congratulations to the Foxes. It's not easy for English side to edge out spanish side especially Europa League defending champions. Please stand up for the English Champions. Foxes all the way!!!! |
Is this one choice or curse? None of the above. Is he trying to punish his siblings over there in Daura? It may be, because I know it is not the same at his Aso Rock villa. Is it simplicity? No! Is it an anti-corruption behaviour? No! Is he afraid of EFCC? Mtcheeeww!!! O k, now what is it? I think it is called white-wash attitude. In simpler term, that is what is called Public DECEPTION. If he likes, let him build a nest on a dogoyaro tree in Daura and tell us it is their family house. What concerns me there? I mean who that one epp? |
It promises to be a thriller. A Spanish side (currently sitting third in La Liga table), facing English strugglers (occupying 15th position in the English Premier League table). Let's see your comments and predictions. |
The Premier Leaugue Champions are set to battle it out with Spanish Sevilla for a quarter-final berth tonight. The hosts miraculously won the English premier league last season but are currently fight hard to avoid relegation. With 27points from 27matches this season, the foxes have shifted their attention away from defending their title. The will play their first continental game tonight in post-Ranieri era having parted company with the Italian last month-just after the first leg of tonight encounter which ended in 2:1 in favour of Sevilla. Craig Shakespaea (Ranieri's assistant) has been appointed the Foxes's manager on an interim capacity. He has secured two consecutive EPL wins against Liverpool and hull (both ties ending in 3:1 scoreline). Should they carry their post-Ranieri form to Champions League, Leicester City would not put a final fullstop to their fairytale which started last season. Having rested for a while, the foxes should capitalize on their away goal and home support to edge out Sevilla and remarkably secure a position in the final eight of the champions league. Sevilla, who have been dominating the second tier of the UEFA competition- Europa League- (winning it three times in a row), are poised to inflict more pains on the foxes who are already out of contention for any meaningful trophy this season save the Champions with no hope of a return to the competition next season. Drop your predictions here or simply click 'like' if you believe Leicester City will scale through or 'share' if you believe Sevilla will win the tie. Catch you then-8:45pm. |
Must everything get people talking in this nairaland? Mtcheeeewww!!!! I for no even comment sef if not because I don already start typing. Abeg I no comment |
Ooooo! Kai !!! Where is my whistle nah? Please someone should help me with a whistle ooo! I have lost my own and now I want to blow. Is it possible to blow whistle without whistle? |
donaldeke:But wait ooo! @OP, what type of grammar are you cooking up? I only commented based on the topic because it's only the topic that suggests anything comprehensible. The main post is irreconcileable. Someone should read it again and bear me witness that I am not accusing him/her falsely. I stand to be forgiven though. |
Let this one be ordinary rumour oo! So after 'collapsing' so many buildings both as FCT minister and as Kaduna state Governor, it is now the 'collapser' that is collapsing instead of the 'collapsee'. Well shaa, El Rufai is good at infrastructural development. Truth be told, I wish him quickest recovery if he actually 'collapsed'. |
Welldone Sirs! Pls, both of you should talk about how to further strengthen our naira against foreign currencies especially US dollar and keep cutting down the rate of inflation. By God's grace, there will surely be light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria. Dry bones shall rise again. We shall all smile again soon because for now, boys no dey smile at all ooo!! |
