Congrats bro. Did you do paper or online route? And when were you called for medicals?
BidemiZoe:
Good morning peeps, I joined this forum sometimes last year and I can say a lot has been learnt.
I applied for my study permit last year August but got denied in October 2015 on the ground of insufficient funds ONLY . I took my time to reapply AGAIN on February 3rd, 2016 and I got my approval mail on March 2nd, 2016. Currently awaiting VFS to call me for my docs and Passport.

Appreciation to all the gurus in the house, you have been of immense help to a lot of people without knowing . A lot of us don't really comment here but we take our time to study and learn from past threads behind the scene.
To those applying or applied, may the favour of God speak for you.
Everything you need to succeed in your application is right here, all you need is to be more determined to dig out some treasures in the past and present threads. Be ready to read and success awaits you. There is no documents that I submitted that has not been mentioned here but the only thing I think I added is Pension scheme /docs, life assurance policy docs, dividend warrant from some old shares.
Thank you all!

Hey bro... No need throwing shade. No one is an island of knowledge ... We learn new things everyday just like you have learnt some new stuff today. Let's move on and keep the thread peaceful. We should rather divert this energy into answering questions from newbies.. Have seen a couple today. Peace!!
Eruditor:
You are the one with +1M in your bank account who vacillates between decisions. The jobs I consider as good enough will have me earning your bank statement each month. If you could give me such a job, you won't be rambling between a PGD and the Masters- you'd even be the girl of my dreams.

I can sense how patriotic you are- let's calculate it, 2 years for Masters, 3 years for Ph.D and then you'd come back to Nigeria to sell drugs for HealthPlus and in a few years run a couple failed gubernatorial bids like Jimi Agbaje. grin

You are the ultimate mentor with a stellar CV (resumé) in the making. wink
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 10:47pm On Feb 20, 2016
This is really misleading. Don't even know what to say to you. Let's rest this case pls
Eruditor:
I am surprised the OGs of the house haven't corrected you.

1. On average University education is far more expensive than college education. U of R and MUN may only appear cheaper for courses whose terms last for 1 year. Other than that colleges are way cheaper.

2. Studying masters is not an easier way to get PR at all. The reason is simple: you have less reasons and time to stay in the country to qualify for that and even if you did, most of the PR sponsored programmes favor those who have reason to stay longer in the country which masters doesn't afford (atleast not more than colleges).

3. College education gives you a chance to get a 3-year work permit. No masters programme warrants the Canadian embassy to give anyone more than the said 1 or 2 years. Now I'm not saying those who undertook their masters in Canada were forced to leave immediately but on average college students stayed longer.

Perhaps some of my facts may not be set-in-stone. But that's the general consensus based on even quotes from here and my personal research.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 3:33pm On Feb 20, 2016
Some universities are cheaper tho. Like mun and U of R. But looking at the bigger picture, most Nigerians use the study visa just to emigrate to Canada..lol. The main target is PR then later citizenship and studying a masters will make it quicker to get your PR. On the other hand, I also think you are correct about colleges giving better preparation for work purposes. They are both good but generally I think masters has more benefits even right from visa application as we must have seen here already.
charles316:
I think the colleges prepare their students better for work purposes while the universities lead you towards research. Another advantage is that the colleges are cheaper than the universities. I stand to be corrected tho. Guys in Canada can shed more light.

Pharmacy join jor. They all in hot demand. Congrats once again
Mizbaby:
Thanks....I intend to start the masters in September. I used the pgd admission to apply because it was for January. I'm heading to Edmonton in September grin
I'm a pharmacist not paramedic o
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 11:21pm On Feb 19, 2016
Hi mizbaby... Congrats. I read tru your post and understand you also have an msc offer at uni of Alberta. My advice is that you take that offer instead of the college. There are many benefits of running a masters program in Canada. It affords you the luxury of getting a PR easily and that's just besides your guaranteed 3 years pgwp. Your program is also on point. Paramedics are in hot demand in Canada regardless of the ongoing recession. You also get stipends from your supervisor altru the program... Common' just too many benefits.
Mizbaby:
Thanks....I submitted my employment letter, confirmation letter, official ID card, birth certificate, father's employment letter, mother's employment letter, sponsorship letters from both parents, bank statements of father 15m+, mother 9m+, me 1m+, acceptance letter with tuition deposit receipt for 3750 CAD, passport data page of previous visas, a payslip, one page SOP.

I did not submit study leave letter( the approval came out late but I mentioned it in my SOP), degree certificate, NYSC discharge, transcript, WAEC, police clearance or any land or property documents.

Hi... When did your sister apply and when was she called for medicals ? Masters or pgd??
WESTERNCR:
Please has there been any refusal after medical lately..?? I'm asking because my lil sister was a victim of refusal after medical last December, now she has reapplied and CIC just update her medical to passed' she's really scared of not falling victim of another refusal cos all she expects now is passport request.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 3:52pm On Feb 17, 2016
Congrats bro.... Who was your sponsor and how much balance was in His account ? Also which course did you use to apply before and now ?
ChicoBoy:
Hello guys.
God that uses egg to break coconut has ran it for me.
Approval balled in today.

First Application:
Submitted/Biometrics : Sept 15th 2015 (Online)
Medical : October 19th
Medical Passed : October 25th
Denial : November 17th
Conestoga College.

2nd Application
Submission/Biometrics: November 24th (Paper)
No medical request. I submitted my previous medical print out in the new application
Hadn't heard from them after 2 months plus, sent CIC an email, they responded and requested my new LO which I sent immediately.
Approval dropped this morning.
to God be the Glory.

Purpose for denial were the generic reasons. purpose of visit, fam ties, length of stay, assets and financial status. In my previous application I had dealt with all of these reasons, still I was denied. I felt it was because I applied for a PGD.. so the only thing I changed in my new application was my School. luckily, I had an offer from Carleton .. that's what I changed.

hayqinsbFX:
When did you apply?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 9:22pm On Feb 15, 2016
Hello Gud people. Please I need your advice. So I got a mail to proceed for my medicals but they attached my older brothers data page instead of mine . Guess the mistake was made because I added all my siblings data pages to my app and our names are pretty similar. how do I tackle this ? Can I use my data page which is different from what cic sent for the medical examination ?

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by favour0011: 10:38pm On Feb 08, 2016
Hi... Congrats dear. What was your relationship to you sponsor and how much was in his soa?
Adebimpz:
Hello Everyone,

I just want to say that I received my approval mail on Friday and I plan to go pick up my passport before the end of the week by God's grace. I already submitted my application before I found this group and I was so worried because I didn't include a lot of documents I saw here. Thank you all so much for your daily contributions, you help a lot of people without even knowing it. I was supposed to resume on 7th January but I had to defer my admission because I could not meet up(I was actually hoping for a miracle.lol) so I deferred to September term. The agent I applied through emailed the embassy sometimes last month that he would like to withdraw my application(so that they won't reject my application because I was already way too late). The embassy replied requesting for my new admission letter which I sent immediately and I got approval mail five days later.I urge all those who are still expecting their TRV not to stop praying, you'll get it soon in Jesus name. Please let me know if you have any questions, I'll answer it to the best of my knowledge.

SUBMITTED: 21st December(Paper route)
BIOMETRICS: 21st December
MEDICALS: Upfront 18th December
APPROVAL MAIL: 5th February
INTENDED COURSE: Master of Global Business (University of Victoria)
