Having an aunt and having siblings there re two different tins. My elder bro and sis are PRs of canada. My frnd who's sister is a PR got refused last year after paying full tuition. They ticked strong ties in canada. In his second app.. the only tin he changed was his sisters address to a nigerian add and he got it. Having a sister or brother is a stronger tie than an aunt. U get??

1. admission letter from Fanshawe college
2. a document from the school showing the duration of my course, school fees etc
3. university certificate and transcript
4.nysc discharge certificate
5.waec result (from weac)
6. a letter of introduction form my dad (sponsor)
7.His account details (showing balance etc)
8.a letter from my aunt in canada stating i would stay with her till i get my own accommodation.
9.receipt from fanshawe showing payment of full school fees
10.Letter of introduction from where i work
yeah i think that was it. If i think of any other one i'll update the list

I stand to be corrected but I think these Vos now take upfront tuition payment seriously so even if it's just like 20% of ur tuition. Pay down sometin. Then if u are currently employed.. I advice you get a study leave letter from your coy stating that they'l be granting you a study leave with some part payment of your salary altru the duration. This will serve as a fab home tie. I ddnt rili think the Vos has issues with your finance... I guess they just ticked all that cos sometin had to be ticked. Send dem payslips, employment letter an study leave letter including part payment of tuition. You should be fine with that I guess..

Yea, my 2 sponsors stated how much. Uncle: 5m Cousin:2m
Nothing abt employer or employment was ticked. I didn't include a study leave either. I had a future employment letter from Uncle

What's the duration of the masters u re going for And did you make any upfront tuition payment?? What's also your relationship with your sponsor?? Did your sponsor state hw much he's making available for you?? Did you get a study leave letter from your employer. Pls let us knw all these as they could hv been determining factors.

After vexing and mailing CIC yesterday. They decided to respond to me with an email this evening.

So , I logged on to CIC and found out I av been delayed. Their Reasons below:

Purpose of visit-Their papa.I have a B.Eng Petroleum going for Masters Chemical.Work experience:Process engineer

Travel History- First time is not a crime

Financial and Personal asset- I showed over 800k in my account bt sponsors have a total of 14m.

Please no pity party. I haven't lost anyone. Will def re-apply by Sept when I push my start date to January..

Current employment status= they ain't working

Personal asset and financial status= biological parents sponsoring with over 20m closing balance.

Re-applying is an awesome idea but I've advised them do go with the uk cos they got admission as plan B. I don chop enough shouting and insult my ear don full. No be me be VO na. Lol

Money should NEVER be the reason why someone does not attempt something. It is better to try and fail than to keep wondering whether or not you would have made it if you had tried. If someone gets admission, gets visa, and then manages to get flight ticket, haba...even if he cannot afford first semester tuition, he should by all means GO! If the door opens, by all means walk through it! If you get pushed back, hey, you'll still end up at the same spot you would have been if you didn't take the step, so, nothing spoil.

It is not only by working than people can get money to pay tuition. What if you get a scholarship in the second year? What if you get an idea that you can sell and make a breakthrough? What if someone you meet over there is willing to help you with half a semester's tuition? There are several other ways money can come your way apart from paid employment.

If you don't have money, then you don't have money! But I can bet you that it will be easier to convince someone to borrow you 100k to complete you school fees when you get stranded in Canada, than to convince them to borrow you 1k to feed when you get stranded in Nigeria.

I've used a couple of extreme examples here but my point is this: the race is not to the swift, the battle is not to the strong, and Canadian education is not to those that have the money for it. Time and chance happens to all men. When its your time you better take your chance!

I need help on flight booking to ottawa (YOW) from lagos, cuz d cheapest i can find is lufthansa and its ard 350K (pls dont suggest air morocco)

thats pretty much my situation... my sponsor is writing that he'll be availing 4m naira for my tuition and expenses and i have 1m in my personal SOA and i'll be living with my bro whos home is very close to my sch. so dnt you think stating this in my sop will make convince the vo that the funds i have available will be sufficient. what do you think guys??

Don't think you are correct. It's a way of convincing the VO that your accommodation is sorted out already.

Maybe helpful if you are coming up with a shaking SOA

but if u have siblings in Canada be truthful as they might have ur name in record but try convince the VO u will be returning

Hello gud people. Someone once wrote that he used document separators to seperate his documents when applying. I will be having lots of documents from my sponsor, cospondor and myself and i'l like to seperate the documents too for clarity. Pls what are document separators and Hw can I use dem?

In my case i had just 2.3 raw cash , but the other finance 8m was in fixed deposit and 2m in shares.
Think fixed deposit seems more liquid.
And my sponsor said 4m was avail to me.

thanks so much guys. my tuition fee is 14,800 CAD in total and living expenses should be about 10,000 cad. my sponsor can write 5, 6m or any amount is available for me but my major fear is that... would the VO regard that arrangement been that its a shares account and not raw cash

pls note* i did not notorize any document * my sponsor is a distant uncle we dont even bear the same surnames*no travel history*no landed documents. instead my hometie was a convincing SOP and a good letter of sponshorsip. and very few documents.

The only positive circumstances i can share with you is that someone on this thread sometime ago stated in his sop that he will be residing with his sister who is a PR in canada during his studies.What a tie in Canada for him bt at the end, the guy got his visa approved.But most importantly this played out 2013 so i dont know if cic will still be comfortable with such family ties background in Canada.Moreover,you cant hide the fact that ur sis is based in canny.so far she included you in her family details when she applied,they will definitely find out.

I have a job(can use that as home tie) but then my older bro and sis are permanent residents in Canada. am kinda confused cos this may get my app delayed due to strong ties in canada but my plan is not to let the VO know that my sis is based in canada, will use her address in naija while i use my bro as a co-sponsor (but with his address in canada). My uncle here in naija will be my sponsor. I need your advice pls.
