@poster & Co.
Since you have come to the conclusion that Islam is not for you based on the pictures of Islam/Muslims you have irrationally painted in your minds and the minds of your likes, can you just REST and let us BE. WE extended no invitations to YOU, nothing is being forced onto you. PLEASE LET US MAINTAIN PEACE AND ORDERLY. That should not be too much for any CIVILIZED person to do. Thanks for your consideration.

Abu
Just wanna make sure I got this right.

The difference btwn the Qabli and the Ba'di is that - in Qabli you make two sujud after the tahiya of your salat but b4 the teslim, then another tahiya, then teslim.

In Ba'di you make two sujud after the teslim of your salat, then another tahiya and teslim.

FamilyRe: Which Other Food Can I Introduce To My Baby Of 10 Mths Apart From Indomie? by FayeZik(f): 1:59am On Feb 14, 2010
Most children this age will eat most adults food, if cooked very soft. Let the child try the food at home and make sure she/he likes it before sending to school. Also, spare the child the sodium and sweetners. Pediatricians advice is not necessary in this case. Most importantly, avoid food like hot dogs, bite size meats, peanut, grapes or anything that can easily lodge or mislodge into the child's throat and thus block the windpipe, resulting in chocking and god forbid, the parents worst nightmare. Safety 1st please.

Honestly, with the way some people talk here, even the most gentle person in real life could be turned into a 'tiger' here.
I was discussing about NL with a Hausa colleague, who joined NL recently, and I asked him whether he used to come to Muslims section and he said he didn't use to come because he can't withstand the blasphemy that goes on here. He will become provoked. He can't withstand a non-Muslim calling Allah and the Prophet(PBUH) all sort of names as some do here. That is why he doesn't open this page. And this is a very gentle, easy-going guy in real life.
So your seeming radical nature here, as opposed to your unassuming mien in real life, may be a product of the environment.
@ Jaurus

You are so right about the way pple talk on NL, especially on the Religion sect or shuld I say Muslim sect. You don't see Muslims interference on the xtian threads, at least not with such blasphemy and hatred that they exhibit on our threads. If we had been face-face with these pple,, i don't even want to imagine the consequences.
I soon find myself responding to posts in a manner that my parents will have to question my sanity. I thank Allah, that now I'm able to withstand any post that comes from a stupid, an insane, or an ignorance person. The trick ? the ability to assess and recognise from their posts, how much sense they have, and then refuse to stoop to that level, and move on. 'Omo oko yato si omo ale'.

Nanai, Salam alaeki

'Ti ewure eni ba sa wo ile alagidi, ti a ko ba pada lehin re, a o je ninu iya ti ewure na maa je (if your goat run inside a stubborn man, you better just go back and don't try to get the goat otherwise you and the goat will get get beaten). This seems to be out of your court. I don't know how old you are, but one thing is certain; the period of time that you will still spend under your dad's roof is shorter that the time you have already spent there, so, my dear, it's a matter of time.
In the mean time, take care of your siblings, talk to your mom whenever possible and urge her to be patient, strive to be a good and successful young lady. Dont't be weighed down by a situation you cannot control or alleviate. When there is life there is hope, I pray that all of you live long and there will be plenty of time for your mother and her children to enjoy each other.
Above all, let go and let God, Inallah ala kulu shaein kadirun. No prayer goes unanswered. Maa Salam.

IslamRe: Muslims, What's Happening In Your Life? A Brother Needs your Assistance. Page 15 by FayeZik(f): 10:05pm On Feb 02, 2010
@Nanai
This is a very delicate issue and should be approached carefully. What is your father's reason for denying you and your siblings visits to your mom? If he has a justified reason then your mom should find someone that he respects and values his/her opinion, to help her to beg him. if his reason is lame, or it's one of those - 'Im the man, and I can do whatever I want' then the next Q is , how religious is he? if very religious, I'm sure there has to be an imam or alfa that can talk to him. If not that religious, how loving and caring is he towards you children? how approachable is he? how much rapport do u have with him? Go to him, on your knees, and beg him. You cannot take side and you cannot judge either of your parents but you can appeal to them with respect to make peace reign. Being divorced should not create enimity. Talk to your mom to have some understanding and patience, let her know u love her no matter what and all these will sure come to an end when u are independent. Overall, pray and pray and pray, Allah is surely samian, basiran. Salam alaekum.

diyobdw:
please people i want to know is this true and why(facts)?

"Nail polish plays a role of a barrier between water reaching to the nails. and if water doesn't reach to the nails, wudu remains incomplete which means salat not valid."
True and u have already stated the 'why'. However, you are allowed to wear nail polish as long as u remove it each time you want to make wuduh, and re apply it afterwards if u like. To some people it's worth it.

Abu Zola:
@lagos- Wow, thats interesting, i use to know last born as omo mummy but this time around is omo mummy ati daddy, how i wish to see your cheek. Lol
Lagosboy may be omo mummy, but at least he doesn't sound like an 'Akebaje'. See, this is what i'm talking about. Beating does not make a child to be good, likewise, sparing the cane does not make a child to be bad. But if we must use corporal punishment, either in school or at home, it should be moderate.

In Chicago, most of our Nigerian muslim children (American borns) attend ilekewu and graduate at youngage. They don't even know how to speak yoruba but can read the Quran fluently (better than I). I think this is possible because they were spared the beating. otherwise they would have refused to learn).
