jamace:just read your comments again and ask yourself wht your've read. I weep for my beloved country. |
I hate you, fashiola for not giving it trial by picking the prisidential form. |
Constitutionally, the senate president is the number three man in the country but democratically, the governor wield more power than the senate president because we are operating federal system of government. Anyway that's my opinion. |
So Lagos state been the epicenter of development can not be proud of even one world Class hospital were tinibu have his check up Sorry for these progressives who claim they love nigeria. |
kastonkastrol:but if it is not true how will you feel with all this knowing, why not confirm its reality before Showing your super inteligent |
Some times get facts before we condemn less we become dumb and silly with our comments just as buhari who said before he left office,Nigeria were generating 3-4 thousand mw of electricity. |
Rilwayne001:what do you think that made him stupid before you? Remember he's a p hd holder, fomer governor of a state that's the north is parasiting, and your president,be objective and show maturity on comments. |
The way we comment and the angle with which we see things some times made me to ask this question; do we really need a change, improvement or we are out of our senses a times? then why continue to do the same thing and expect a different result? You heard a news, the same news source said they can't confirm it though they went ahead to publish the so called 'rumour' as a news then you who called yourself the embodiment of knowledge,mr. ITK except it as "fact" to condemn, insult and taint the image of mr. president. I'm not his fan but I have to real and give honour to whom honour is due. Its really a pity. |
By Emmanuel Bello While they bicker on issues of consensus or no consensus, the nation’s apex opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is making the president and his men, happy. I learn President Jonathan sleeps sounder now than before. The calculations and prognosis appear to be on his side. With Ebola killed; with polio on its way out; with a ceasefire afoot and with APC leaders not sure who would fly their flag, a relaxed president left for Israel on pilgrimage to thank God for this victories. Now, I don’t know of any Nigerian president of the Christian faith, who has ever gone on that kind of pilgrimage. President Jonathan must be coolly sitting pretty to travel like that at this time in the electioneering calendar. I’m sure he feels that 2015, as far as the presidency is concerned, is a cakewalk. And he’s got the floundering APC to thank for that. The first problem the party faced was with the issue of whether it would go for a Muslim-Muslim ticket or not. Right now, the matter is still ruffling feathers around the country. Many believe that if the party does this, Jonathan and his men would be smiling to the polls. Even former President Olusegun Obasanjo kicked against it. He was reacting to General Muhammadu Buhari’s outburst in a recent interview where oga Buhari characteristically said it doesn’t matter if the party goes for a same faith ticket. The respected general is wrong, of course. Religion is still a huge issue with Nigerians and comparing the current situation with the ancient Abiola/Kingibe magic is a no brainer. It is stuff like this that motivates the PDP to pummel APC with the supporter of APC appellation which unfortunately was effective. And don’t forget that many still think the leadership composition of the APC is untowardly slanted to one particular faith. They may be wrong in saying this but Olisah Metuh has succeeded in selling the dummy to unsuspecting folks. That is why the PDP has wisely retained the Jonathan/Sambo formula which balances the North with the south and the two big faiths in a fusion. That looks more Nigerian and a lot of country men are comfortable with that. Secondly, while APC is still dealing with that, there is the thorny issue of whom the party would give its flag or even how it would arrive at that. On its part, the PDP has settled that one already. It has a flag. It has its bearer. In fact, a committee that would set the stage for Jonathan’s declaration is already in place. That is organisation. APC is still wondering if it should do a consensus thing or it should go to the polls. As I write this, I’m not sure what it has decided to do. But when I spoke with my boss and former employer, Sam Nda Isaiah, on the matter, I felt his presidential anger! He was livid. He told me going for consensus would just be like borrowing the poisonous tricks of the PDP. He said it would rob APC of its biggest asset – transparency. You know, APC tries to give the impression that it is the cleanest party in the neighborhood. But Nda Isaiah believes only an open, free and fair affair would sustain that image. And even after it has settled on this, there is still the issue of the candidate. PDP knows how to defeat Buhari or at least how to deal with him in the media. They would bring back all the memories of politicians being thrown in jail; they would remind everyone of decree 4, Buhari’s age, his religiosity, his draconian posture and his weaknesses. If you bring former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, PDP would bring up issues of corruption and the fact that he is desperate. Someone told me that even Obasanjo doesn’t want Atiku to be president for obvious reasons. If it is Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, PDP and TAN would just go on a jamboree, dancing and praising the Lord for a victory. In fact, they would all go on a pilgrimage. That leaves you with my oga, Sam Nda Isaiah. Now, that is a novelty for even the PDP. They may have to think fast and know how to confront the man with the big ideas. But believe me the PDP would know what to do. Even with Uncle Sam. |
The Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) has offered to provide a platform for the Rivers State Governor, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, and the former Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, to engage in a public debate over accusations of corruption levelled against each other. This came as a political pressure group, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Project Reloaded, expressed confidence that despite the political developments in the state, the state remained predominantly a PDP state. The CLO, in a statement issued on Tuesday on Port. Harcourt by its Publicity/Research Secretary, Mr. Livingstone Wechie, noted that both Amaechi and Wike had been engaged in accusations and counter-accusations of corruption against each other. It said the allegations had pre-occupied political discussions in the state, especially as elections are at hand. The statement said: “Following the challenge thrown last Saturday to the federal government and the PDP in Rivers State by Amaechi for an integrity test and the challenge thrown back to the governor by the former Minister of State for Education, Wike, for a public debate on corruption, the CLO in Rivers State offers its platform for the said debate which has become mandatory giving its expected impact on our people and the political rights and future of our land. “The said public debate has become necessary given that both parties have consistently asked for the opportunity, considering the fact the public has been inundated with allegations and counter allegations of corruption and embezzlement of public funds and abuse of office with claims on both sides of documentary evidence”. The statement added: “The current politics in Rivers State in the face of an upcoming elections will be more competitive as to who leads us next if the truth behind the outgoing administrations both at the state and the federal viz a viz transparency and accountability is well laid so that the innocent electorate will properly employ their stakes in the polity and position themselves on how to put incoming administrations to task for maximum performance. “The media and the security agencies are hereby put on notice about our offer to provide a platform for a public debate for Amaechi and the former Minister of State for Education, Wike, following their request.” The CLO suggested the Obi Wali’s International Civic Centre or the Alfred Diete Spiff Civic Centre as venue for the debate. It however said it would accept any other venue chosen by the two politicians. It said the CLO, in partnership with other civil society organisations, the National Orientation Agency and the media, would moderate the debate while both persons would be allowed to appoint an independent moderator each. |
That's the mind set of an average moslem and this will always result to unrest in the entity called nigeria till we do the needful. |
What an elderly man will see while sitting, you will not see even if you climb the mountain. Relate it to what Mohamed Junaid were saying. Open your eyes. |
How do we define such a person? and I believe he's speaking the minds of the so called north. Do we allow this mediocre to rule us again? |
experimentist:Did you even border to read write up. I think you are not suppose to be in this forum. |

I've read so much about how Fashola, is " working", I'm yet to see for myself. Fashola, looks smart and sound intelligent, and I think that's about it. Personally, I see him as FRAUDULENT, PAROCHIAL and a WASHOUT, just like I see Jonathan. Firstly, I learnt that Lagos state, IGR, runs into millions/billions, in addition to the monthly revenue Lagos, gets from the Fed. account, so what's Fashola doing with money? LOOTING or MISAPPROPRIATION? Lagos state, doesn't feed the general public, Im yet to read about PUBLIC HOUSING that favors the MIDDLE CLASS or POOR people. Some of the bridges and inner city ( NON INTER-STATE) roads are being TOLLED. Lagosians, are yet to boast of 24hours electricity. The politicians, GEJ, TINUBU & ilk, they still frequent the WORLD CLASS HOSPITALS in the West. I mean, in Lagos, INFRASTRUCTURE, ELECTRICITY, HEALTH CARE & OTHER BASIC SOCIAL AMENITIES, are just as it has always, THIRD WORLD STANDARD, which only the POOR, LOCAL CHAMPIONS, & E-TOUTS get WOWED. Fashola, paid govt. workers, tar roads & beautify the side walks, build parks, equip few hospitals, DOES ALL THESE THINGS JUSTIFY BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN LOAN ? What else is so EXCEPTIONAL about Fashola's " WORKING? If Lagos were to be Fashola's PERSONAL BUSINESS, I can assure that Lagos, IGR and monthly allocation will be enough to run the government and still make profit. I took a road trip to Canada, from my state. I got tired of driving because I drove for about 4-5 hours, yet I'm within my state. We have govt. housing program for the POOR. The State, FEEDS THE POOR ( EBT program ), the state fix all the roads this summer/fall ahead of winter, in addition to bridges and new roads been constructed. In a nutshell, this state doesn't have OIL REVENUE coming in, rather, it's TAXES & TAXES that was used JUDICIOUSLY & TRANSPARENTLY for the PUBLIC GOOD. Rather, than borrowing or running deficit, the state budget was SURPLUS and they had to mail back some additional income tax check to me & millions of others. Actually, the state lawmakers, agreed to refund people some tax money, save a part of it & use the rest to fund some ESSENTIAL projects that requires URGENT funding. Yes, Lagos state, is more populated, however, in less than 45 minutes, you're either in Ogun state, or Benin republic and Lagos state ( Fashola ) is NOT feeding or housing the POOR. Rather, than CARE or PROTECT, the POOR, VULNERABLE and WEAK folks, Fashola, will bundle them to their state of origin. We all know how some people are LEECHES on the UK/ British government, yet these leeches weren't deported to their countries of origin. So, whats Fashola, doing with PUBLIC FUNDS? WHY SHOULD Lagos borrow money and billions for that matter? Lagos, have ZERO infrastructure, no road network, people spend hours coming or going to work. Most neighborhoods on the Island, are slums, flooding has become a norm cos of no drainage. Lagosians, who can afford it have their own sources of power and water supply. I'm yet to read a Jakande, type of housing or something meaningful about housing the poor. Why can't Fashola, build apartments for Lagos state civil servants in Lekki? Oh, they're not FIT for such neighborhood. Other than their paycheck, or transportation ( which they work for), is their any other thing the Lagos state, civil servants have being wowed with? What did Fashola, do with billions of dollars? I lost the little regards I have for Fashola, when he failed to support the FOI. I expected him to be the champion or the most vocal supporter OR implementer of the Freedom Of Information act, because, he's lawyer, he claimed to be a people's servant, and morally, THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT YOUR PERSONAL ESTATE, the people of Lagos deserve to know how you RUN THEIR STATE. If you're HONEST & PRUDENT, WHY THE SECRECY? Lastly, I still don't understand why Fashola, will be trading words with Jonathan, over who " stopped" Ebola, from spreading. Is it necessary? However, I'm very much sure if Ebola, was spreading & killing people, Fashola, APC & millions of Nigerians, would have been calling for GEJ's heading and branding him a FAILURE. The BLAME would have been Jonathan's ( the president that refused to close the borders), but the PAT ON THE BACK IS FOR FASHOLA's. Counter my view with FACTS, I want to learn, but you chose to cuss, good for you. FYI, I do not care about Jonathan and his fellow ROGUES like Fashola, Tinubu, IBB, El rufai, OBJ, David Mark, Orji, Uba & their ilk. HISTORY WILL NOT BE KIND TO ALL OF THEM AND GENERATIONS TO COME WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM AND THEIR OFFSPRINGS. Support them all you want!! I'll continue to view things from a CRITICAL & OBJECTIVE lens, then I express myself based on that. I'm yet to see the justification for borrowing money/billions by Fashola. Prove me wrong |
Abagworo:. Its very unfortunate that even the youths the so called leaders of tomorrow had degraded so low that they are no more confident of their selves any more. How much were you buying fuel as at when OBJ was the president? and when Yaradua of blessed memory was/Gej were at the top job? Compare the subsidy of last year and this year then you 'll understand why people were paying #200 for a litter of fuel when OBj was at the helm of affairs. If you think Buhari is the only qualified Nigerian to clean the mess of the nation then it will be a joke of the century. Gani Fawehemi of blessed memory was call to serve under Abacha regime but refused and the saint GMB as you claimed served under him and Abacha and his government was judged to be the most corrupt government in the history of Nigeria, what does this mean to you. Buhari is as corrupt as any other person you think to be so, his presidency is unacceptable,is an insult to our intelligent. There are millions out their that can do better than him. If Buhari is the only one to sanitised naija, then is better we go back to the colonel era. |
kITATITA:Stop insulting peoples intelligent How do they pay? |
All is a step on a right direction but nff to give a pool of players to select from I think is stupid because if nff feel they can do the job why hiring a coach at the first place? If they are going for a coach, allow him to do what he knows how to do. |
How is the cost of living in Lagos state? Ask yourselves what's your state producing? Do you want the president to and process garri and put food on your table? Critic without direction. How many youth are employed by your governor? How jobs has your governor created? |
fitzmayowa:. It should have been better for you to ask why he was booed. The so called masses are the architecture of most of their misfortunes. |
Bayelsa state |
Frankenstein:Wisdom is the principal thing so get wisdom and in all get understanding but BUHARI lack both. |
Henry Dickson. One wonder what he is doing with all the monies coming to state. |
Really, is not all about insult, tarnish but that could not happen in a saner society. Like of most of the Buharians, can't they for once support reality? In fact if you were the one that had held such positions won't you raised such fund because you served well? I think buhari is bankrupt and such person can/would not rule Nigeria. I think this what cluelessness really mean. Nigerians needs technocrats. |

ratiken:Don't even border because some people are animal in human skin |
omenka:Is it really human or animal in being voice. Not this our generation but you and your house hold. |
Ayekotoo:Is that the only position given to yorubas ? APC is a house built on a fault foundation where LIE is the chief cornerstone and hypocrisy the pillars. Their presidential hero said before 1999, Nigeria was generating 4000mw. Now another founding father of the so called APC had represented it the same light. Spoke men for President - Dr. Abati and Dr. Okupe, Dr. Adewunmi Adesina - Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Aganga - Minister of Trade and Investment Minister of Communication Technology - Mrs Omobola Johnson Senator Musiliu Obanikoro — Minister of State Defense Alhaji Abduljelili Adesiyan — Minister of Police Affairs Ms. Olajumoke Akinjide - Minister of Sate for FCT Minister of State for Work - Mr. Adedayo Adeyeye Prof. Dan Adebiyi - Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties Dr Akinyosore - Special Adviser to the President on Foreign relations and many other positions. |
berem:Get your facts right and present for everybody to see than to rain insult. |
