“The divestment of Total’s downstream assets too is on-going. It is a confidential deal, which meetings have been held outside the shores of Nigeria several times with contenders mostly indigenous firms,” a source close to the dealsaid. Total declined to comment on the deal because of its confidential nature, but a source at the company confirmed the move to New Telegraph yesterday.

Am new here pls. I want to know if there's any document I can have from the bank as evidence for investment in the TBills. Thanks
Your bank should give you an Investment letter confirming your Investment in Tbills..

But then once you are debited, your account statement states it all..

Efficiency is the key.

GTB is known for this.

Unlike FIRST BANK the Father Christmas
where is the efficiency for a bank that had to make a provision of 57B for loan impairment charges..

if not for the Revaluation of Forex...they would have made a massive loss...infact this is a very poor result

Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your continued business.
On account of current market conditions, please note that with effect from 18 October, 2016, you will not be able to use your Naira debit and credit cards for international transactions.
If you wish to carry out card transactions priced in foreign currencies from that date, you can request for a USD card (debit or prepaid) from any of our branches.
We apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused by this decision. We trust that our USD card product will allow you to continue to pay for goods and services that are priced in foreign currencies.
To ensure unhindered access to your USD debit or prepaid card while abroad, kindly notify us of your impending trip(s), preferably before you leave Nigeria.
+++

End
We should be expecting a lot more of such mails from all the remaining 19 banks banned from Forex market soon..

Thank God this latest ban did not affect the value of dollars in parallel market

Uncle feel among
What's the minimum requirement to participate in these OMO auctions? Do you have to directly inform the treasury department of your bank that you're interested or how does it work?

Is this available to all banks or only a privileged few? Apologies for the flenty flenty questions!
Most bankers only alert HNIs/ Investment coys/ asset mangt firms or people that they feel may be interested becos of their past investment records with them..

I have a friend in Ecobank treasury that sends to me just for information sake

@feelamong , Are you still holding unto your 2020 Bonds? I plan on selling mine put half on T.B and also half on EQUITY for long term till 2020 , Am fedup on the hike in price of things Inflation and the effect on bonds before 2020...WHAT UR ADVICE? Help a confused Brother.
My FGN Bonds are not what I trade on....most times I buy the bonds to use the Coupons for targeted spending...

Moreover if I sell now, I will be making loses since I bought at 14.55% yield.

I still don't think it's a good time to do equities....would rather wait to enter in late November for the February/March sale off just before Year end results appear in late march

I read Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University some years back..

Truth be told....there are very few career paths in this discipline...I fought tooth and nail hoping to get a job in either Nestle or NBL but to no avail..

I moved on....went for PGD, MBA and found my self in a New generation bank....

I still found out i was not cut out for banking...today am on my own doing my thing...

I want to encourage undergraduates and recent graduates to start looking outwards...

Most especially dont joke with any thing that will enable you to become an entrepreneur.....

BusinessRe: Guinness Nigeria Gets Diageo Loan To Help With Currency Shortages by feelamong(m): 7:19am On Sep 22, 2016
Guiness Management is filled with Olodos...

They should go and look at what Nigeria Breweries PLC is doing and getting right!

NB saw that the so called growth of Nigeria economy in the past 7 years was a scam and invested heavily in smaller breweries that produce cheaper and local beer that the locals can afford to buy...that way they can drive volumes of sales using the NB distribution network!

How many bottles of Orijin or Guiness stouts can a low wage worker or student buy?

Compare that with no of bottles of Life beer or champion or goldsberg they can buy...

As it is in Naija... we have been having more poverty in the past 6 years....only a change in strategy and not loan can save Guiness now!!

for tomorrow's auction, what do folks in the house think about 18.5% for 364 days?
Sorry i did not reply this earlier...currently on vacation.

I loked at the secondary markets and noticed that rates have been coming down since last thursday....

It doesnt seem like CBN is interested in doing any more OMO auctions too....maybe due to all the shouts in the media in recent times for MPR rates to be reduced to free up more money for comsumption as we are in recession...

I will therefore advise our people to reduce their rates in this Auction....for me i will go with

91 days- 13.75%

182 days- 17%

364 days - 18%

Happy Investing cheesy
