http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-08-23/world-s-worst-currency-slump-starts-to-glean-rewards-for-nigeriaIn the past two weeks, Exotix Partners LLP and Standard Bank Group Ltd. have told clients, most of whom fled after the country started imposing capital controls from late 2014, that they should start buying naira assets again. The worst-performing currency this year among more than 150 globally has depreciated 38 percent against the dollar since the central bank abandoned its peg on June 20, while bond yields have jumped to more than 20 percent. The naira strengthened 3.6 percent to 318 per dollar on Tuesday after falling to a record 350.25 on Aug. 19. “The cheap naira is attracting foreign investors,” said Lutz Roehmeyer, a money manager at Landesbank Berlin Investment, which oversees about $12 billion of assets. “At 325 per dollar, the naira is too weak” and Landesbank anticipates a rebound, he said ARE THEY BACK @ fxuser......please help confirm from your big contacts |

EngineerT: even if they don't allow, aint their rates competitive enough? secondly, when i last inquired, once they perceive you know what you're doing, they let you be. that I can't say about GTB. would you believe i Started this process on Monday and went there 2 other days consecutively to ensure everything went well , yet nothing came out. i hate to waste my time on futility, not after having diligently studied and did my homework before venturing into this activity. if there is any GT B staff here, come and defend your institution because i am not taking this likely at all.. its so annoying. Engineer..take am easy.... Just vote with ya feet...look for another account officer in the bank that understands the Tbills well and deal with him |

EngineerT: a banking officer mailed after expressing my disappointment in GT for bidding with them that the bid did not sail tru. i am hugely disappointed with GT , i will likely transfer the amount to FBN and bid on my own terms since GTB are forming too busy or don't care about their customers on this subject matter. Mr Feelamong, which bank did you bid and was it with the bank rate? kindly answer. I did not bid in the last Auction...... The last time i did i went in with Fidelity securities cos i was selling shares to buy Tbills then.. |

I think the issue with GT is based on the branch you deal with...
I have dealt with the Tiamiyu branch in VI a couple of times and it went well..
those who cannot wait should explore the secondary markets...14% is not a bad deal there.. |

quertyquack: How can one participate in this OMO auction. Just called my account officer, he has no clue. Can one bid through their bank like tbills? usually OMO is done at very short Notice to the banks from CBN... The banks then quickly notify their biggest customers/PFAs/Investment houses who can do volumes... so as you can see its not meant for everyone.... but then like they say; with proper arrangement even Devil can see God.. |

Tritri: @Feelamong This is a personal msg , Just got yield of 7,727,540.98 now. Am contemplating on buy FBNH stock at the current price Or T.BILL.On the long run which is a better on the long run? I already few FBNH but thinking of accumulating more? I need your view on this . During my early days in Wealth management...we were taught to ask customers a lot of questions before advising them on whether to buy stocks or invest in Money market.. what is your Investment Horizon? how much risk are you willing to take? what is your portfolio size and how is it skewed at the moment.. As for me: while I do stocks, Tbills and FGN Bonds... I also have a code of conduct never to invest more than 50% of my total Investment in stocks at any point in time. Stocks fit kill person! But the returns could be like drugs money at times maybe we would need to chat privately on this issue.. |
