ukay2:when you have a lot more winning than the amount required at a particular stop rate.. For EG..if CBN intends to raise N50B 91 days bill...and eventually get N48B at below 14% and the last N2b having subscribers who have all bidded 14% to the tune of N5B. Since CBN needs only N2b, they will look at the bids and then prorate maybe by saying that they will take only 70% of each of those that bidded 14%. That way, if you bidded 14% for your N1M, CBN will only take the Discounted Value for N700K |

"With no OMO maturities next week, the PMA will be the main driver of market sentiments. On offer are N48.1bn, N48.5bn and N86.7bn on the 91-day, 182-day and 364-day bills respectively; indicating additional borrowing of N86.7bn. We therefore expect a mildly bearish market outlook. Renewed institutional and retail client interest in T-Bills may however sustain." This is a small bit from one of the reports i get from one of the banks... This clearly means that the rates would remain high at the Auction |

fxuser:Emefiele is only warning banks so that when he strikes..we wont say the it was knee jerk reaction.. http://www.nan.ng/electricity/loan-to-discos-cbn-to-sanction-banks/ The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, said it has approved a sanctions grid to commercial banks participating under the Nigeria Electricity Market Stabilisation Facility (NEMSF), the loans meant for DISCOs and GENCOs. The bank said in a circular signed by the Director, Financial Policy and Regulation Department CBN, Kelvin Amugo, and posted on its website on Monday to all banks. The central bank said it had approved the sanction grid to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the facility. The CBN initiated a N213billion Nigeria Electricity Market Stabilization Facility (CBN-NEMSF) after an agreement with the industry stakeholders to address debts owed by generating companies to gas suppliers. The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele disclosed in May that a total of N120 billion out of N213 billion had been disbursed in four tranches. |
http://sbmintel.com/2016/09/05/daily-watch-pfas-invest-%E2%82%A61-7-billion-in-infrastructure-ubas-profit-search-goes-abroad/ UBA CEO, Kennedy Uzoka, has that said the bank’s African subsidiaries now account for a quarter of its profit and total deposit base, which is largely made up of low-cost savings and current account deposits. Uzoka made this disclosure during an investor conference call on August 31 on the bank’s 2016 half year results. “I am particularly impressed by the performance of our business in Congo Brazzaville, where we doubled bottom-line, largely through transaction-based offerings,” he said. Uzoka noted that the firm’s African business, excluding Nigeria, contributed a quarter of profit during the period, and possessed a stronger outlook than its home country. |
