Lagos flood wahala. I didn't even bother going out yesterday as I anticipated how it would play out with flood, traffic and all.

I faced it sometime last month at OSAPA LONDON and Lekki around Fola Osibo... My car was practically floating in that Osapa. That place na rubbish for rainy season abeg. I had to remove the seats and the rug the next day. It was not a funny experience.

Meanwhile, how do you guys deal with riders when you don't have change? I try as much as possible to have change with me but sometimes it just happens and you have no change.

CC: pope191, Felicity0001 northbird et al.
1) if its a uber ride I review reporting rider paid less stating the reason it will be reconcile accordingly. But this was b4 oga coro period oh not now again, uber don broke now.

2) I've transfer N200 naira change from my account to a lady b4.

3) I look for somewhere safe to park, lock my car then look buy something.

4) depends on how good the trip went from conversation after accepting the request to drop off, I leave it to rider as dash, sometimes they need that change. But I don't leave my change for people like Dangote who don't want to leave theirs.

5) If the trip was an unfriendly one I sometimes frustrate the rider by delaying, I will drive around to get h/h change.

Note that it's drivers responsibility to give change on every cash trip, uber will even ask you to have the smallest of change even if it a coin.

85% of my encounters riders have dashed me instead grin

I decided to refuel at Mobil(Maryland ) and go home since I just wanted to see how the work is now and also warm my engine. Entered filling station attendant came and I said bring your pos, gave him my card and said take 2k, he asked the normal saving or current? I answered, he gave me I entered my pin and "ok" he gave me the slip and started fuelling the car.
I normally discard the slip but today I just reluctantly look at it and saw that dude took 20k instead of 2k shocked
Na so I come down, showed the guy and he was like, aye Mi o.
I said guy why? He said sorry sir o na mistake. I said can I have my 18k please? He said Oga abeg park well make I arrange am. After about 4minutes wait , he came to where I parked and handed me 18k cash cheesy

As a car or fleet owner on Uber and taxify, you need a car insurance to mitigate your risk and cut down your expenses to the barest minimum thereby maximizing profit.

1. With third party insurance, you are not ready for business. When you encounter hits and run you will understand what I am talking about.

2. With Comprehensive Insurance without flood extension, you are a better investor and ready for business but your profit might be affected to cater for expenses that could have been averted

3. With a packaged Comprehensive Insurance designed for e-hailing businesses that comes with flood extension, you are the best investor and totally ready for business.

If you need more clarifications or an insurance needs that suite your type of business, I am a phone call away.

Consultation is free if you want to know more on the type of insurance you are on.

Does this comprehensive insurance design for ehailing business covers for repairs and servicing expenses, or do we have a package that covers for that?

Asking for a partner that covers for both repairs and maintenance

APC still has his record, they are waiting for the right time to unveil it.
What records are you talking about or are you ignorant of the supreme court verdicts in the case and how its a closed case in court? APC has no case to make if they like let me go to arbitrary court Edo is back to PDP.

The only good thing APC has done which I'm not happy with is suspending that short man devil Adams Oshomole, I wanted him to finish destroying that party b4 but now they've suspended him so the 2023 general election will be very competitive. And I hope and pray they don't retain power again.

BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Felicity0001: 12:47pm On Jun 17, 2020
1daboi:
funny enough, I buy fuel @ that conoil even when I don't really need to refuel. Why? Because their pump is graet (I think o) my gauge goes way up anytime I refuel there. My favourite fuel station remains Bovas after FRSC office @ ojodu. Try them, thank me later
Bros its not enough for your fuel gauge to rise as expected ooh but most importantly to be sure you're buying the right fuel that doesn't burn at ever slight throttle. Fuel marketer uses different fuel additives and some of these are bad for injectors pump and also burns faster than normal. If you'd noticed some fuel you buy for home use have different colors and odours. Some are white, some light brownish while some a little deep brownish, all of these colors burn of fuel burns differently when used in the same engine.

But most importantly, burn the one that won't damage your pump and injector.

As for filling stations being cheats. A lot of fuel stations managers and dealers are into this scrupulous act, I remember years back in the early 2000 I use to have a workshop just at that OandO filling station along the secretariat road, a total filling station is in the opposite side of thw road. Over years I'd my workshop there I was able to know the tricks these guys carry out from the dealer of the station down to the manager and the fuel attendants. As for thw case of meter tampering this is a norm and they collab with the engineer who comes very early in the day to temper this meters and an insider in the office who informs them when ever supervisors are coming from the head office. And all of these guys have a cut from the pot of soup.

Now, there is always ine pump they don't touch or temper with but in most cases they don't sell from that pump unless they identify a worker from their office wanting to refuel h/h vehicle, those companies on cards dealings with them and few occation when there is long queue so to avoid questions they ask the attendant who is attending to lube oil to attend to sellected card on the queue.

Lastly, most of these meter racketting is done especially when another pay slip time is fast approaching so they pay their staffs from customers pockets and not from the profits they make daily or monthly.

Let me stop b4 them attack me for the other side of the world.

So the system is corrupt only the end of the World can solve Nigeria problems.

Some nozzles are bad and some pumps are equally bad, pumps that read too fast obviously have a problem and also pumps that read too slow.

The worst filling station is that conoil at the local airport exit on ikeja along.

You tell them 2k they will dispense 500 and stop or 1500, they say "sorry sir I thought you said, ok let me complete it"

Omo you have been cheated, the initial 500 or the last 500 can never be complete.

They did it to me on two occasions, and I immediately knew something was fishy.
Boss man to me the general overseer of them all is that Mobil along the mushin oshodi just after the Illupeju bypass traffic ligjt, N2000 fuel is N500 those people are thieves.

In continuation of my Abeokuta trip...

So we started trip from Oyingbo and after inputting the address on Gmap it says "112km with over 2hr:45min ETA.

I used the Lagos Ibadan express way route going but on getting to destination which took an extra 1hr:30min of the initial ETA, rider was disappointed meeting the absence of the persons he went for. Trip was supposed to be drop off alone so out pity I decided to return back with them at fueling cost alone which was the same amount I used to fuel my vehicle at PETROCAM, Igandu Rd the previous day.

But before I refueled that fuel brought me back Enyo at Command, on a 65km from destination to Abule Egba on the Oshodi - Abeokuta exp route.

Now, some persons may want to ask, what is the sense behind sharing this boring and sterile experience.

Well, the point (advice) I want to make clear is that:
1) As for riders, please if you must travel on a long journey especially one that involves plying high way like outside Lagos please and please make sure you get the right driver with experience in long distance driving because inter state travel and driving is totally different from driving within the metropolis. A lot of these uber drivers and danfo drivers can't even do ordinary Lagos - Ibadan.
I believe I dont need to over emphasis on the important of long distance experience driving.
Like the popular song "egun egun be careful na express you dey go"

2) while negotiating please make sure you do physical inspection of the car you're to use before embarking on the journey with the car. Make sure the tyers are good and ok, breaking syatem is in perfect condition, ask driver about the condition of the car and how old car as been in use, last date of service. No one wants to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. It is expected that faults can develop anytime without giving any notice but a sound car will hardly park you on a highway.

Lastly, my fellow drivers anytime una pass that PETRICAM for dey along LASU-IDUME road try stop by buy fuel there their fuel na baba because that 3k fuel took me to Charity B/S, Bolade B/S and then back to PU at Charity B/S area again before drop off at Ipaja then to Abule Egba, the next morning to Oyingbo, down to Abeokuta and back to Command before I refuel. And mind you all of these waka was with full AC apart from going to Abeokuta that I didn't use the AC too much.

Again, the road from Lafarge factory in Ogun state to Ijaye b/S in lagos is a no go area, as a matter of fact I can say with all boldness from experience this far that road is the baddest of all the roads I've ply in recent times.

You may have to park your cars for a very long time then because I can't see light at the end of the tunnel anytime soon. By so doing, your cars are also suffering massive wear and tear due to lack of usage.

Eventually, you will be faced with two options, accept the reality on ground (what smart business men do) or sell off the cars at give away prices. Either way, you may not escape losing, no matter how hard you try to dodge it. That's the hard truth. The choice will be yours to make.
Honestly I really don't have energy to engage such people with such business mentality anf ideology. How on earth would a normal thinking human being compare a car that depreciates daily weather In use or not with a commodity like gold that always appreciates?? I mean it's so unthinkable.

I know people who are sensible, reasonable and has a very high intelligent right from my assessment on their 1st and 2nd statements, if I don't c any of these qualities in their statement I avoid them.

This is one bad thing about Bolt. Similar thing happened to me on Saturday. I was already at the rider's PU and the 5mins had already elapsed. I called the rider and it was ringing when I got the ORDER CANCELLED beep. I waited thinking the same request would drop on me, but another request entered and rider was heading to one of my NO GO AREAS. I'm sure if that was an Uber trip, they would have given cancellation fee.

Like I said earlier "one of the downsides with bolt". Let's hope they keep to their words of compensating drivers soon.

But another thing I see here is this, I believe drivers are not complaining to bolt via the app and since bolt is not getting a lot of complains from drivers its natural for them to validate drivers are cool with it.

This is the same ideology our politicians have about us, since we can't come out bold to fight against the injustice, embezzlement and all the atrocities from them then it therefore means we are ok with everything and they will keep doing it.

Sometimes ehn, some riders are just out to frustrate someone. So this morning, after spending like 1hour plus without request, I decided to go back home. On my way home, a request came in.

PU was in an estate on the other side of the road but I had to make a U-turn about 800m ahead, and there was heavy traffic. I called rider and she described where she was. I told her where I was and that there was traffic and it would take about 10mins to get to her. The other side of the road was free so I just had to make the U-turn.

After spending about 15mins in traffic and making the U-turn, I was about turning into the road leading to her estate when I heard a beep. "RIDER HAS CANCELLED THE ORDER!".

And she didn't even call to confirm where I was before she cancelled. I now had to make a turn into the traffic again.

Annoying people everywhere...
Too bad if it bolt because no compensation for you which is one of the downsides bolt has against driverz, but the last time I checked bolt said they're working in it and soon they'll start paying drivers for rider's cancellation with terms n conditions attached.

But, if it's a uber ride I bet you would have been given the cancellation fee, else? Contest it with them on the app.

For the sake of next time, if its a bolt ride immediately you get such request quickly arrive and even if riser cancel the next request h/s is sensing would still come to you because you obviously are the closest driver to h/h.

Best bet for owners, park your cars down, dont take 20k, those usage will create maintenance, once everything is back to normal, put in back ur car.

Most cars on uber are even used more this days with less return.
What kind of mentality is this? This is like the second time I read this kind of statement on this thread. That patronage is low means we should close shop then go home and watch? Do you even have the slightest idea of how things work?

Do you know that most ehailing drivers are graduate and most are married and with kids and wives?

Do you know that N1500 can sustain a family of 5 for 3days in this trying time?

In fact I don't need to go any further with you. If you have a car kindly park it at home and let your driver starve with his family since you've other lines of income all because you want to save cost or avoid cost of repairs

Another warning!!!

I just got to know today is Iyaoloja's birthdays.

Immediately I dropped ofd the woman i talkes about in my last post, driving out of the street into the street which us btw shoprite and hmmmm... Ok, the street to entrance 1 which is a one way. I saw the poster on the gate "happy birthday to iyaloja". na him i say make I just pull over buy confectionary and soft drink from those women adjacent to the street which I came out from o the next thing I sew na Lasma with their big tollingng lorry one of them walked up to me talking to me I said I just want to buy snack he said ok I ahould hurry up, he left.

As I was about stepping out of thw car one guy passing by on getting to me said don't come down just drive, (2x). i was confused, just as I was about starting my car another man came to me asking me, i told him i want to buy something here, at this time I'd already stepped on leg out of the car. The next thing I saw was that first man coming with his spike and the ine talking to me was calling them to come, already another lorry don park for my front with one of the tout coming with the iron rope. O boy!!!

The first man with the spike: come down, shouting on top of his voice (speaking Yoruba).
The man don open my door already.
Me: oga mi you asked me to buy quickly bla bla( speaking back in the little yoruba i could)
He then ask how long have I been here, I said I just park to buy some, he confirmed fr9m thw women which affirmed so. That was the grace that saved me ooo.

The fool was now begging me to give him the N500 in my hand (me no gree) na so I enter my motor. As I was about driving away the idiot tout say i should wind down speaking Yoruba begging money for pure water I just jejely win up zoom off replying him "pure water kill you dia".

So guys if you must go that area today pleaae be very careful and watching.

Meanwhile, this is a warning to everyone.

When ever you get to any traffic light along Awolowo Road Ikeja especially that one at Agidingbi junction before shopright coming from Allen round about, always put you eye on the light and once the green light start blinking no matter how fast you're driving don't ever beat it just stop and if you're in front don't ever move until the light tells you even if those lasma officers are telling you to go don't go (especially on that Agidingbin junction) those guys there are crooks, wicked and stupid people.

3weeks ago na N500 i pay courtesy to a LASMA official which I was carrying the dispatch rider that beat the green light with me when it was just blinking was arrested and taken to their office.

Getting there not too long ago the woman I was having on the car was going to Iyaloja's- Tinubu's daughter's house seems they've a meeting, when we got to the junction she was like "go go go" when the green light was still blinking I said "ha iya no ooo" explaining to her my experience we laughed and joked over it. Na when we reach there I know say na iyaloja house she dey go b4 self if not I for beat the light make I see watin den for do b4.

But we'll, so guys please, to before warn is to before arm.
