Don't bother yourself.
Anything like this from government is not for the masses
Even if tinubu mean well, the system won't allow the masses to benefit

The rice is not even enough for family members of custom officers at Lagos alone not to talk of their ogas in Abuja and politicians who would also be interested in cheap Rice. Then business men and women with large pocket to bribe are also interested. So how do you expect the common man to benefit?

You cleared off the man with an incredible speed to the extent that you can't find the body anywhere close to the road.
I've had several situations where someone will suddenly drift onto the road unexpectedly but driving at a sane speed always allow for a Swift and effective reaction to avoid a collision and I always thank God for His mercies

That of your own is manslaughter with a cosmetic attempt to evade punishment from God and man.

This is the main disadvantage of sacking a police officer especially SARS and then allow him to go and leave among the people.

These type of people after sack should be drafted into the Frontline of the army fighting terrorist in the forest.

Allow other investors in the cement industry for competitions, and watch demand and supply determine the cost.
I think economics as a subject should be proscribed in Nigeria.

It does not work here

Are we too blind to see it?

Assuming all European countries are visa free for Nigerians and transportation is a free one way ticket.

If tinubu still has anyone left in Nigeria to govern after 48hours then it has to be dangote and the likes

Poverty is the only reason we are still plenty here.
Government knew this truth and they prefer Nigerians to remain poor for them to remain relevant

Why is it that Poor people always feel anyone comfortable in Nigeria is a thief.

The status quo will remain until Nigeria stops doing the bidding of IMF and world bank. Developed economies don't mean well for Nigeria. Imagine when 1 Naira was 1 Dollar in the 70s IMF said Nigeria should devalue Naira and we have 1600 Naira to 1 Dollar in 2024 now.
But what can we do when the govt has borrowed billion of doollars from these world bodies and are bound to do their bidding.
We need a drastic change. Tinubu is worsening the situation and seems clueless with his team. All indicators and not helping the masses.
When will IMF persuade America to devalue $?
Why always Naira?

Can CBN allow us to make dollar transactions with naira card like before!!?. At least. That will reduce pressure on dollars to run international affairs. I still remember using my naira card to purchase goods on Alibaba in the past and they remove the dollar equivalent. Why was it stop!?? An economist in the house should explain this
The damage CBN and emefiele did to Nigerians should be documented in the Guinness book of records.

Everything was tailored towards impoverishing Nigerians.

AliExpress, Amazon etc will list their items in naira and we need to get dollars to pay because of CBN.

The naira was assassinated at CBN

Politics / Re: Hardship: People Turn To 'Throw-away' Rice For Food In Nigeria - BBC by femicyrus(m): 3:47pm On Feb 15
happney65:
In 2015. We told them in simple and basic English.

You do not remove a nagging wife which was GEJ and replace her with a road side prostitute. It was the analogy I gave them.

I told my friends voting for these people then that you do not on no occasion vote for a Buhari.

A Buhari is the road side prostitute who will sleep with your neighbors and friends.

Either you replace GEJ with someone better or you leave him there. The ones coming will make things worst for us. His antecedents are glaring.

But with stupid emotions, they didn't listen so some of us stayed away from the polls in 2015. I wasn't ready to vote for GEJ again, but it would be over my dead body I would vote for Buhari because I know who exactly he was.

Coming down to 2023, The one taking over from him was even worst than him. All he said was Emilokan. He never promised us anything whatsoever.

It was just about him and his EGO. While a candidate was telling you and telling us we have to move from consumption to production. Mr Emilokan proudly said " shey na statistics we go chop"

How a presidential candidate can say that and so callee educated people still voted and campaigned for him is one of the wonders of the 21st century

24hours before his inaguration. I said it in black and white on my status that he will be worst than Buhari. Apart from the fact that he said he would continue from where Buhari stopped, Himself and Buhari are nothing but birds of the same feather

The Economy that was the fastest growing in Africa when they got power, has turned to the poverty capital of the world and our people are now poorer than they have ever been since 1960

See,This is just the beginning. We haven't started and we haven't seen anything yet at all

Brace up fellow Nigerians!

So you think this same APC people will remain as opposition for long without turning the country upside down?

That is what you people keep hiding behind.
Market forces!

Dollar, market forces!
Petrol, market forces!
Food inflation, market forces!

Too blind to see that wicked corrupt forces are responsible for all these woes

They get richer while you blame market forces with empty stomach.

Go and google it.
Petrol landing cost in Nigeria today is about N1000.

How come you still buy at a lesser price if there is no subsidy according to your deregulation story

Go and see the doctor I recommended immediately you realize your error from Google search

Emefiele pumped it into dangote refinery through the backdoor

You want dangote to Bleep off with our commonwealth?

Landing cost of petrol is now N1000
We can't buy it as Nigerians but dangote can sell it in dollars outside Nigeria to make profit.

Business / Re: What exactly Is The Benefit Of Floating The Naira? by femicyrus(m): 5:03pm On Feb 14
Most of the economist who commented so far failed to understand that Nigeria is a peculiar place where economic principles will always fail because of the type of people the corrupt system had produced over the years.

Likewise, US & UK will never devalue their own currency but will always encourage us to do so using the same economic principles we are all quoting as a bait.

Allow death penalty to fight corruption like Japan or china and see what Nigeria will become in 4 years.

“Our food products are the cheapest around the neighbourhood,” Senator Kyari declared.

So produce more . This is exactly what the policy is supposed to do. More exports means more forex and the inability of farmers from neighbouring to compete on price . Kick this one out already
you don't get it.
Even if you produce x10, a poor man in neighboring countries can afford to buy 9 of it while a rich man in Nigeria cannot buy 1 in other countries.
The naira is of no value

That is the main issue

What about for health.
Well one thing you should know is that the government has failed to satisfy or meet the demands for dollar for payment of school fees, importation, health....

People has to go to aboki to get this fund.

When I wanted to travel for education. I opend the form A.
Till today the form A has not been honoured. I just left the naira there with them when ever they wish to send the money let them do.

Had to go to aboki to get dollar to meet my educational needs.

What happens to all the dollars they get from crude oil?
What happens to all the dollar they get from borrowing.? . Cos they give them this money in dollars.

Until corruption goes away then nothing can work.

Your request was under emefiele not Cardozo

Babathanks:

Do you know that if you want to go to abroad or if you want to do anything in embassy you would need dollar and it is only aboki that can provide you. The bank would never give you. This inhuman policy is just meant for the poor and masses
That is the reason for diplomatic collaboration.
This embassies are located in Nigeria. Ministry of foreign affairs can engage them on the need to transact in naira or only allow transactions through banks that will help you convert your naira equivalent to the currency you wish to make payments with at the embassy.

Nigeria can survive without BDC operation
