sexkillz: The thread belongs there, and it'll stay there.

Well that is going to be very problematic.

You are a moderator not Idi Amin, you have to explain the reasons for your decisions. We are not kindergarten children that you can talk down to, when you are on the phone to Ogugua every night, do you talk to her like that?
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 3:54pm On Nov 08, 2013
Sexkills you are viewing this thread. Can you confirm which Mod moved the thread back to the ethnic section?
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 3:45pm On Nov 08, 2013
Please can I ask who moved this thread to the sectarian section?

https://www.nairaland.com/1508835/awolowo-responsible-developments-todays-western

Afam moved it to the Politics section earlier today, who moved it back to the ethnic section and why?
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 1:07pm On Nov 08, 2013
Afam4eva:
In my first submission, i stated that the idiosyncrasy of that threads suggests that it should be in the ethnic section and not just because "Yoruba" was stated in it. The meeting that gave rise to that article was a meeting of ethnic groups and the discussions were ethnic discussion, so i don't know what you're arguing for or against.

Please stop using words you dont understand. When I raised this issue, you said that it could either be in the Politics section or the sectarian section depending on how the Mod "perceives" it.

You are clutching at straws here intentionally trying to obfuscate. You have not given any sensible explanation on the reason why the Enugu thread has been in the Politics section for over a year and a Mod immediately moved the thread where JP Clark spoke about Awolowo's achievements in the Old Western region to the sectarian section- the only reason you have provided is that it is at the Mod's discretion and that you obviously agree with sexkills decision to move it.
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 11:16am On Nov 08, 2013
Afam4eva:
Not on how mods feel but on how they perceive a particular thread. That thread is actually more ethnic than political and i think the right decision was made. There's even nothing developmental in that thread. It was just mentioned passively and was meant to Extoll the Yorubas and Yoruba is an ethnic group and that's why the Thread belongs in the Ethnic section.

Afam your reply still lacks clarity and sounds a tad dubious. Perception or emotions should not be a tool in accessing whether a thread should be in Politics or the sectarian section- do you have a template or a guide to make such decisions? It sounds funny to me that 2 Ibo Mods are insisting a thread about Enugu is fit to be in the Politics section and a thread about the impact of Awolowo on the Old Western region which includes present day Delta and Edo states should be placed in the sectarian section.

Of course you will agree that it was a right decision, I am not disputing that but I was not asking for your personal thoughts on the matter but a clear answer as to what threads go to the Politics section and which ones end up in the sectarian section. So far, it seems Sexkills and yourself do not even have a clue yourselves.
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 10:57am On Nov 08, 2013
Afam4eva:
That thread could actually belong to the Ethnic section or the poltiics section depending on the disgression of a particular mod. That thread talked a lot about Awolowo, being responsible for the development in Yorubaland and the fact that Yorubas have been at the forefront for the call of a National conference.

So you are confirming that a Mod could decide to place it in the politics or ethnic section depending how they feel.

sexkillz: Enugu is a state in Nigeria and not an ethnic group.

The contribution of Awolowo that Edwin Clark was alluding to occurred when Nigeria had regions- Edo and Delta states which are currently not part of the SW were part of the region that Edwin Clark was referring to.
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 10:46am On Nov 08, 2013
Afam4eva:
That thread is meant to highlight the developmental strides of the Enugu state Government and as such, belongs to this section.

This thread https://www.nairaland.com/1508835/awolowo-responsible-developments-todays-western is meant to highlight the impact of Awolowo in the development of the Southwest of Nigeria as explained by Edwin Clark- why does it not belong to the Politics section?
Politics / Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by femogbangba: 10:41am On Nov 08, 2013
sexkillz: It's ethnic and sectarian.

I am not sure you even understand the meaning of those words ^^^

How come this thread - https://www.nairaland.com/979128/enugu-pride-east has been in the politics section for over a year?

Please explain

Sad story but only illiterates will carry such a large amount of cash in this day and age. Although due to the nature of business in Alaba, they have no choice but to collect payment in cash but they could also consult with their banks to seek alternative payment methods.

grin grin grin

This marriage if Desola accepts your proposal will turn to WW3 in the end grin

Desola if you accept the proposal, I will suggest that your Maid of honour is BabyOsisi

And the bridesmaids should be:

Ngozievergreen
Pepperluv
Chima_Adeoye aka Chima_Agbalojob

The officiating Pastors should be- Sexkills, Afam and Oam4j- each of them fighting whether the ceremony should be conducted in Igbo or Yoruba- in the end settling for Nupe

The head of Proceedings- Seun asking if the ceremony was advertised on Nairaland ads- Mukina2 ensuring that this was the case. Otherwise the ceremony cancelled

Katsumoto would professorially decide whether the relationship is tenable while Omonakoda would explain in detail why he thinks this would be a big mistake, Onlytruth will obviously be in support. All we have to fear is Deridegull not messing up the event by putting his hand up when the priest asks the dreaded the question if anyone objects to the marriage.

If the event eventually takes place, we have to listen to Sagamite calling everyone a person for not ratiocinating about the consequences of the outcome of such a myopically thought out union.

Looking forward grin grin

Cubeet: THE NIGERIAN KILLED OR BEATEN IN INDIA MIGHT BE YOUR BROTHER OR UNCLE. WHY CANT YOU JUST DEFEND YOURSELF NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU SHOULD DEFEND YOURSELF COS YOU ARE A NIGERIAN.

Please can you stop personalizing circumstances here and let us address issues with facts. There are 2 sides to every story.

From the report I read, it was stated that the guy was killed during a fight between a local drug gang and Nigerian drug gang. I have been to SA, the Netherlands and traveled to Brazil with my team, in those countries, Nigerians are notorious for drug peddling, I am not in any way suggesting that the guy killed was guilty neither am I justifying his killing but we have get the facts before we start hyperventilating.

India has been complaining about Nigerian drug dealers for over 3 years now:

I think we should look inward and see the damage we are doing to ourselves as a nation before we point the accusing finger.

solomon111: And Nigeria is not rapidly developing economically?
There are already indications that Nigeria has surpassed southafrica economically.
If india the filthiest country on earth,a nation where over 500million are in extreme poverty can be a member of BRICS,then i don't see the big deal.
And yes,membership is by invitation.

If you can reiterate that patently false statement, then I do not need to argue with you.

I don't know where you are digging your statistics from, but India is gradually becoming a force to reckon with in global economics and politics. Multinationals are trooping there everyday to have a share of the wealth being generated on a daily basis, they have done well for themselves despite the constraints of a massive population. They have a vibrant middle class that are entrepreneurially minded and adding value to the country in terms of creativity. Their technology sector is sophisticated and competing favorably with the best in the world, they churn out consultants like Yam and are very dominant in Silicon valley- brother please broaden your horizon.

Do they have challenges? Yes! However, they have a structure in place that has led to a transition from a poorly developed country to a force in global economics and they are still growing.

As for your statement that Nigeria has surpassed SA economically- I can only laugh! Even a lazy look up on Google indicates that the GDP of SA is $384 billion while Nigeria;s GDP stands at $262 billion. SA's GDP Per Capita is $7507 while Nigeria's GPC is $1554. Nigeria has a lot of potentials but we are still the younger brother looking up to SA, I don't see that changing in the next decade or 2.

solomon111: And what's so special about BRICS?
Nigeria is strongly allied to all those countries.
We would have been invited to join them long ago if not for GEJ unnecessary frollicking with the WEST.

Are you sure you know what you are talking about Solo?

Membership of BRICS is not by invitation. It represents countries that are rapidly developing economically and transforming their economies to compete with the G7 (Advanced economies). Nigeria is 20 years behind those countries in most parameters.

The empty barrel makes the loudest noise!

The Nigerian government should accept the fact that a lot of Nigerians including the politicians are nuisances when they are living in other countries. Nigerians have been living in India for decades, why all the furor now? There is no smoke without fire!

The last time, it was Kenya, before that it was SA, Uganda and Botswana. Let us calm down and assess ourselves before pointing the accusing finger- most of the things that the Indian authorities are accusing Nigerians of are not made up stories.

Is that not a similar argument we heard when Jim Nwobodo took the Generators that were bought for the national stadium after the Junior world cup?

More importantly, why did the same office deny this just a few days ago?
