Sports › Five Things Nigeria Must Do Against Ethiopia In Calabar by fflamingo(op): 10:21pm On Nov 15, 2013
The Super Eagles are just 90 minutes away from booking another trip to the World Cup – their fifth if they succeed against Ethiopia on Saturday in Calabar.
But it has not always been this ‘easy’ – from the first
qualification in 1993 in Algiers and that 1-1 draw to 2009, when the Eagles had to come from a goal down to Kenya in Nairobi to win 3-2. This campaign led by coach Stephen Keshi has almost been stress free but we could also say that we are enjoying the benefit of being African champions.
That we must prove again on Saturday as we try to put the
Walya Antelopes to the sword. Brazil 2014, here we come!
But first Goal looks at five things the Super Eagles must do on Saturday in Calabar
*EAGLES DO NOT NEED TO CHASE A VICTORY, LET ETHIOPIA DO THAT
As Arsene Wenger said after Arsenal were defeated 2-1 at the
Emirates by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League –
“My team were not mature enough to know that they did not
need to chase a victory.’ so the advice will be to the Super
Eagles – you do not need a victory to get to Brazil.
The plain truth is that if the aggregate result after the match in Calabar on Saturday is still 2-1, then Nigeria are through.
So there is no need for any ego-fuelling all out attack on the
Ethiopians – the Antelopes are the ones who should be chasing a victory and the Eagles can pick them off with counter-attacks.
*SCORE IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES
The Ethiopians will most likely go all out from the beginning of
the match to get a goal but that enthusiasm can be quickly
deflated if the Super Eagles get the first goal, and get it in the
first 15 minutes.
What it would then mean would be that the Walya Antelopes
will need to score three goals to win the match and realistically,
that would be a mirage.
So if the Eagles want to end the challenge quickly – they should
just score first and in the first quarter of the match.
*EAGLES MUST NOT BE LETHARGIC
This cannot be preached enough – the Eagles must forget the
score of the first leg and face this 90 minutes freshly.
Expectedly, the Ethiopians are coming to Nigeria believing that the task is still possible and a feeler from the first leg indicates that they will be giving more than the proverbial 100% in the hope that they can catch the Eagles in a soft spot so the advise to the players is to go into the tackles in the first minutes of the match very hard.
That will show the Antelopes that the Nigerian players are not horsing around and are ready to break a leg literally to confirm the ticket to Brazil. There must be no shying away from making tackles or letting go especially in the first 30 minutes.
*PLAY IDEYE WITH EMENIKE AGAIN
Emmanuel Emenike is back in good scoring groove both for club and country but he still needs the perfect foil to achieve his goals consistently for the national team.
Against Malawi, there were so many times when he seemed
isolated upfront with Victor Moses, Nnamdi Oduamadi and
Ahmed Musa far from him. It was also apparent in the first leg against Ethiopia and the Fenerbahce man had to come deep into midfield to pick the ball.
The Nations Cup where he and Brown Ideye played together
showed an understanding and chemistry that should be allowed to fully develop. Ideye may not be scoring regularly but he allows Emenike the license to score.
PLAY MIKEL IN THE NO.10 ROLE
Another moot point that should be noted was that in the first leg in Addis Ababa, the Super Eagles got their goals when the coach changed the formation, brought on Nosa Igiebor and pushed Mikel Obi up the pitch.
Then Ogenyi Onazi and Igiebor protected the defence and
allowed Mikel to pick his passes. One of those led to Emenike being felled in the box.
Coach Stephen Keshi will be well advised to find another partner for Onazi in defensive position as Igiebor is out and push the Chelsea man near the attackers where his vision and passes would be key in unlocking a stubborn defence.

Psalm 1...
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I typed every thing up there without the use of any material..
So I for me perform very well..and I would really appreciate if my weak point were pointed out by the judges .
Thanks in anticipation

Romance › Re: Does Religion Make Or Mar Relationships? #debateENDED by fflamingo(m):
All protocols are duly observed .
I must clearly and viciously state from my earlier round on the impact of religion in today's relationship.
I noticed people tends to categories the issue of in differences in relationship.
Crying out loud, we are in the 20th century and I must not condemn the fact that understanding and commitment does make a better relationship. Alas too indifferences in relationship also doesn't cause qualms if there is better understanding in the party involve. Permit me to throw a question to the audience; Is there any religious of any foundation that did not teach the wife to be submissive to its husband (vice versa)? ...YES every religion teaches the partner to be submissive to both party involved it merely require understanding and commitment for such indifference to work out. My able co debater you would also not want to argue as I QUOTE "Religion has nothing to do with relationship especially as it involve two opposite partners with a delusional notion that “LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING all that matters”. Well, that is fallacious! (From your earlier quote "fallacious" its simple unrealistic. To obedience, human emotion, and understanding, which serve as the bedrock of a solid relationship permit me to add Love, understanding, and religious are the Basic that make any relationship ....to your topic "I wish to state that the need to be loved and understood has to be religiously" (you highlighted the importance of relationship here with influence to accept a particular value, norm and belief )which is made to seem right and supreme in one’s view; these beliefs and values are usually implanted on an individual by agents of socialization; peer group, mass media, schools RELIGION are the basic of one learn. A psychology lecturer once explain that at the point of birth of Man he is without any knowledge.(Tabular rassa) .agents of socialization played major roles in having a better relation.
Without any iota of religion sentiment there is clearly a better relationship to work ahead if they put religions as their first guild .
As am closing up, I would want to draw your attention to recent topic posted by members on nairaland which causes break down in relationship. Its is very obvious that such topic lack any momentum of religious particle.
Religion any time any days would make a better relationship.
Rest my case.

Romance › Re: Does Religion Make Or Mar Relationships? #debateENDED by fflamingo(m):
Relationship is the oldest institution in the earth as after the creation of Adam the creator also allows for an help mate . it could however be recalled that after creation, God promised the First man a help mate. However civilization has eroded the face of youth who engage in relationship without the calls of their creator.
Good evening ladies and gentle men accurate moderators, co-debater, Able judges ,people of the press and the audience. fflamingo is the name and am here to support the motion which says "religion make A better relationship" Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. Many religions have narratives, symbols, and sacred histories that are intended to explain the meaning of life and/or to explain the origin of life or the Universe. From their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature, people derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle. fflamingo et al defined religion as "the feelings,
acts, and experiences of individual men in their solitude, so far as they apprehend themselves(males and females) to stand in relation to whatever they may consider the divine. By the term "divine" i mean "any object that is godlike, whether it be a concrete deity or not to which the individual feels impelled to respond with solemnity and gravity." The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. Defines Relationship as the mutual dealings, connections, or feelings that exist between two parties, a male and a female partners. Relationship further illustrates that this set party share the same belief, thought, perspective about. Romantic relationship is any relationship between people with the desire to become intimate with each other. For the relationship to be romantic, both parties must mutually feel an attraction to each other.
Religion has a long way to go in making a successful happy home. In one religion or the other there are certain rules and doctrines which categorically explain how a relationship should behave, coordinate organize the home. Religion is saddle with the responsibility to serve as guiding principle, norms and standard, etiquettes in having a better relationships.*Uses hand gestures to illustrate my explanation.
For instance; Christianity has certain standard where the couple are directly submitted to their God there have certain principle which serve as a prerequisite in relationship which on normal standard has a long way to go in having a better society and a better home.
Listening audience/viewer you have to believe with me that religion in relationships should be a laid over rules that should not be disputed or argued about.
Moslems too had its own guiding principle which punctuate the daily life of its worhispper in the sense of certain prejudice for example as a moslems its really do not lay emphasis on having only one Wife. So as an intending Alhaji or alhaja its should be ready and willing to accommodate more wife if it deem necessary. Traditionally wife should be willing to share his husband with other female if the husband choose to have and as the Christian too do stately explains that the husband WOULD only have one wife till death do them apart, and its doctrine do not state another wife in essence.
I would want to talk more on the importance of religion in a perfect relationship but Time and space would deny me of such opportunity to clearly illustration the numerous roles religion play in relationship until am called upon again to convince nairalander that Religion is a vital tool in relationship.
Till then I humbly rest my case.
