Mysterious messages at Hackney Marshes
Exclusive images from the famous venue for UK grassroots
football, which was the scene of an invasion of unexplained
symbols on Monday
EXTRA TIME
Hackney Marshes became the latest
venue to be struck by mysterious
signs and symbols on Monday when
a three-metre football gouged one
of the 82 pitches at the London-
based grassland.
Witnesses at London's amateur
league football hub reported seeing
a giant circle formation featuring a
ball in the centre of the design – the same emblem that was seen
as a hologram on Rio de Janeiro's Sugarloaf mountain on
Sunday.
Mystery | Football fans can not only visit the formation but can
find thousands of balls there
Even more curiously, the mysterious circle was broken by the
3m football-like object that left a gaping hole in the ground –
resembling the effect of an aerial crash landing.
Dog walkers also reported smoke emanating from the sight for
hours on Monday morning before the area was later cordoned
off.
Bizarre | The same symbol was seen as a hologram on Sugarloaf
mountain on Sunday
Two thousand smaller footballs - each containing the same
cryptic logo – were scattered around the football pitches of
Hackney Marshes.
Locals were left stunned by the sightings. Retired builder
Michael Pimmer, 74, was walking his dog at sunrise. “I have
been visiting these fields for many years, but I have never been
left awestruck like I was today. It was truly bizarre."

Mysterious messages on Sugarloaf mountain
Exclusive images of the bizarre illumination at the iconic
landmark in World Cup host city Rio de Janeiro on Sunday,
which appears to be connected to football
Oct 21, 2013 10:30:00 PM
EXTRA TIME
Residents of Rio de Janeiro were
left bemused by the appearance of a
series of unidentified signs and
circles on the face of Sugarloaf
Mountain on Sunday night.
As darkness fell, witnesses reported
seeing a green laser beam fired
from an unknown location onto the 396m mountainside
overseeing the Atlantic Ocean.
The beam gradually enlarged to form scrambled symbols which
gave the impression of an encrypted message. "What does it all
mean?" asked one stunned bystander. "Why is this happening?"
Mountain mystery | Rio residents were left baffled by the
illuminated messages on Sunday
The encoded letters increased in brightness before settling into
the shape of a gigantic logo. It resembled a giant circle with a
football shape carved into the centre of the image. Rio is due to
stage key matches and the World Cup final next summer but it is
not yet clear what connection this unexplained incident has to the
sport.
The mysterious hologram remained illuminated on Sugarloaf for
more than two hours before finally fading, at which point
wording appeared clearly stating: #winnertakesearth.
The unusual scene also prompted passing drivers to reduce their
speed and residents to flock to the edge of the oceanic
Guanabara Bay. It was not long before the discussion spread to
Twitter where grainy photographs were posted.
Maria Clara Rocha, 27, said: "I have lived in Rio all my life and
I have never seen anything like it. It was very eerie and spooky.
I really want to know what this all means."

Mysterious messages at Times Square
Exclusive images from the commercial hub of New York
City, which was the scene of more unexplained symbols,
believed to be connected to football
Oct 24, 2013 4:30:00 PM
EXTRA TIME
Times Square became the third
venue to be struck by mysterious
signs and symbols this week when a
series of unidentified images
flashed on the commercial
intersection's digital billboards.
Witnesses reported seeing a
sequence of blinking lights and streaming codes on Tuesday
night that left New Yorkers scratching their heads at just what
they were watching.
Strange symbols | The mysterious shapes stand out next to the
advertisements
Alongside advertising for animated film characters and
basketball stars, an electronic billboard suddenly revealed the
illuminated image of a giant circle with a football shape carved
into the centre. The hashtag #WINNERTAKESEARTH soon
followed.
"The images reminded me of a science-fiction movie," said
bemused Dutch tourist Michael Stupp from Rotterdam.
Andrea Costa from Mexico added: "At first I thought it had
something to do with computers because of the glitches and the
codes, but then when you see the football sign and the hashtag
you start opening up your mind and asking who is out there
trying to challenge us."
Sign of the Times | Baffled onlookers watch the cryptic
messages in New York
On Sunday a mysterious hologram of the same symbol was
projected on Rio de Janeiro's Sugarloaf mountain, while London
sports venue Hackney Marshes was gouged by a three-metre
football the following day. The hashtag #
WINNERTAKESEARTH was spotted at all three venues.

Exclusive images from World Cup host nation Brazil, where
more unexplained symbols and messages have appeared at
various landmarks

Rio de Janeiro was the scene of yet
more mysterious signs and symbols
this week as a series of unidentified
messages were spotted around the
World Cup host city.
On Monday, the usually tranquil
Leme neighborhood was the talk of
Rio as the mountainside that
overlooks the beach was illuminated with the giant message: #
WINNERTAKESEARTH
Mountain mystery | A message above the beach volleyball at
Leme
The following day it was the turn of the internationally-famous
Copacabana neighbourhood, which saw its central region
plastered with the same hashtagged text.
Guests at the luxurious city hotel, the Copacabana Palace, left
their rooms to get a better view of the bizarre transmission.
Light show | A symbol on the side of Santa Maria hill
The hill of Santa Marta, close to the iconic Christ the Redeemer
statue, was struck on Wednesday. It featured a giant circle with a
football shape carved into the centre of the image. Fans driving
to the Maracana to watch Flamengo play Botafogo stopped their
cars to take photos.
"I have lived in Rio since the day I was born and have never
seen anything like it. I'm a little scared because I do not know
what this symbol means," said Carlos Perez, a Rio resident.
On Sunday, a mysterious hologram of the same symbol was
projected on Rio's Sugarloaf mountain, while London sports
venue Hackney Marshes was gouged by a three-metre football
the following day. The digital billboards of New York City’s
Times Square have also displayed similar messages.

Christianity Etc › Bribery And Corruption Fivethings Christain Should Do by fflamingo(op): 9:38am On Oct 20, 2013
LIE NO 6: In Nigeria, Christians cannot avoid paying and taking
bribes, God understands.
THE TRUTH: God’s standards are clear and unambiguous. He
hates bribes and expects us to shun it. God does not expect us to
conform; He wants us to stand out. He does not want us to be
overcome by the prevalent evil culture of bribery and corruption,
but wants us to overcome it.
Following are 5 steps each of us should take:
1. Make a firm commitment never to pay or take a bribe again,
regardless of the consequence. Paul endured two years in jail
rather than pay a bribe. Acts 24:24-27. Put plainly, a
commitment to totally shun paying and taking bribes will come
at a great cost, and God expects us to bear the cost. .
2. Encourage others to make the same commitment, network
with them and collaborate. To be effective, this “Integrity
Network” at the place of work, at sectoral/industrial level and in
communities, must transcend denominations. We must work
together regardless of our denominations. In fact, we should
expand the network to include colleagues of other faiths willing
to practice integrity. When the bible talks about righteousness
exalting a nation, the emphasis is on practice and lifestyle, not
denomination or faith.
3. Encourage your organization to adopt the “don’t give don’t
take principle” Contend for integrity in your sphere of influence.
Stand up against corruption. Speak up against it. Do it
prayerfully but firmly. Ps 15:1 & 4 Lord, who may go and find
refuge and shelter in your tabernacle up on your holy hill? 2
Anyone who 4 speaks out against sin, criticizes those
committing it, commends the faithful followers of the Lord,
keeps a promise even if it ruins him, Living Bible
4. Be willing to make the hard choices if that is the only way:
accept a “non-juicy” posting as a policeman or Customs Officer;
forgo promotions if need be; and ultimately, be ready to resign if
after spending sufficient time in prayer, you are convinced that
integrity and your job don’t go together.
5. Most pastors hardly ever rebuke bribery and corruption; much
less take concrete steps to ensure that corrupt money is not given
as tithes and offerings. If this is the order in your church,
prayerfully and respectfully but firmly demand that your Pastor
make changes. Many erroneously interpret this as judging God’s
servants; it is not. You are in fact helping him. Jesus would not
keep quiet in the face of evil. You can do this by referring the
Deacons, Elders, Assistant Pastors and the Senior Pastor to the
relevant posts on this Page. You can seek audience with your
Head of Department or whoever you relate with in church
leadership, politely communicate your concerns, and request that
it be relayed to the Senior Pastor. Don’t condone evil. Confront
it, albeit respectfully and prayerfully. 1 Tim 5:19 & 20 Never
admit any charge against an elder except on the evidence of two
or three witnesses. 20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke
them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
RSV
Will you enlist in God’s army to push for the realization of
Nigeria’s destiny?
Would you join an “Integrity Network”?
POSER: If habitual giving and taking of bribes will disqualify
from making heaven, will you make it?
SCRIPTURES
Mark 9:43-48 "If your hand does wrong, cut it off. Better live
forever with one hand than be thrown into the unquenchable
fires of hell with two! 45-46 If your foot carries you toward evil,
cut it off! Better be lame and live forever than have two feet that
carry you to hell. 47 "And if your eye is sinful, gouge it out.
Better enter the Kingdom of God half blind than have two eyes
and see the fires of hell, 48 where the worm never dies, and the
fire never goes out- Living Bible
Mark 9:43-50 (“These Lies Must Stop Translation) If getting
that contract requires a bribe, forgo it. If getting that deal needs
paying off the Contract Manager, forfeit the contract. Stop
receiving bribes even it means you have to cut down on a lot of
things and suffer some hardship. You may in fact have to quit a
job if the only way to continue is to keep paying or receiving
bribes. Don’t put your eternal life at risk by joining in this
prevalent way of life.
Acts 24:24-27 A few days later Felix came with Drusilla, his
legal wife, a Jewess. Sending for Paul, they listened as he told
them about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 And as he reasoned with
them about righteousness and self-control and the judgment to
come, Felix was terrified. "Go away for now," he replied, "and
when I have a more convenient time, I'll call for you again." 26
He also hoped that Paul would bribe him, so he sent for him
from time to time and talked with him. 27 Two years went by in
this way; then Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And
because Felix wanted to gain favor with the Jews, he left Paul in
chains. TLB
Rom 12:2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but be a new and different person. Living Bible
Rom 12:2 (“These Lies Must Stop Translation”) Dear Nigerian
Christian, don’t copy the behavior and customs of Nigeria,
particularly the pervasive culture of bribery and corruption. You
cannot really please God until you are different from the average
Nigerian by taking a firm stand against bribery and corruption in
every form.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I desire to please you. Help me to
overcome this plague of bribery and corruption in Jesus name.
God make me a part of your army of integrity to fulfill Nigeria’s
destiny in Jesus name. Amen.
