spyder880: Seems I am going to experience some delay in this project. It has to do with the local council approvals, some new govt officials want a piece of the cake and they are asking that I stop work. As I run around with them, I am going to do another contract I got from contacts here. This will be a roofing project, the bungalow has been built and the owner wants me to roof it with step tiles aluminium. I think am going to open another thread to document this roofing and costs. What exactly do these people want. I hope this does not affect this thread. Is the approval of the drawing the problem or the location of the building? |

brabus: Thanks Seun and Lawyer (the moderator) for bringing this to the front page. I would like to use this opportunity to thank you for adding the "Like" button to threads and posts on Nairaland. I would also like to suggest that you look at the layout. We should be able to see bookmarked, related and new thread at a glance on any page. I suggest you reduce the size of the space for posts and do a 2 or 3-column page (facebook style) so that you can accomodate all this new features. I'm a design consultant so I can tell when a design is boring. But all the same, I must thank you for the opportunity you afforded Nigerians.
Great job. ____________________________
More update about the design and the client.
I'll also be spending the better part of my time today with on the site with my bricklayer and site engineer to see how we can convert an existing foundation on the site for our benefit. Later today, once I gain time, I'll send the site plan for discussion and deliberation.
carry go jare. But why do you have to make use of the existing concrete and reinforcement. |

I am sure if you know the quantity of materials you need it will go a long way in cutting down the overall cost. This is so because with the quantity of material known, all you have to do then will be getting the unit price and with some discount you have something to benefit then you can negotiate the labour rate if you cannot estimate that also.
Just ride on bro. |

hasyak: am thinking of using 6" block all thru for the top part of my building, i don't think there is anything wrong with that? but if anybody thinks otherwise pls let us know why. There no much problem with that BUT you need to check the span of your open spaces within (living room etc) soas to know if 6" can go or not. When the span is up to 5m, use 9". This is just to provide extra support for the rafters. |

When the president was searching for a vice president, so many names were touted to him but he surreptitiousely went and picked Sambo. When Mr president was looking for a credible nigerian to mount the leadership of INEC, so many names were mentioned but he went for Jega.
Now to the list; every state in the country has it as a matter of right to be represented at the federal level. Therefore, every state is to present its own list which the presidency will work with. It is left for him to check within the states for credible individuals that are not on the list and then nominate such as the final presidential nominee list that will go to the national assembly. Federal character at work. |

I will say that this thread/topic will be the best and most sensible of all I have seen on NL. Though the op is famous for his anti- Jonathan campaign, I believe this should be the right step to take since you cannot take him down or impeach him now. I only want to suggest that as the initiator of this thread, you need to take away every bais mind you have on the president and be a moderator kind off. |

pak: @Poster I'll give you a big advice not as an expert but from experience.
If you ever choose to buy a Honda product. Then RUN from the V6, especially those made between the years 1998 and 2005.
You can go online to verify by typing phrases like 'honda accord 2003 problems' and at the end of the day you'll realise that most complaints are from ppl with V6 and there are a lot of gear related issues.
Also in this part of the world, maintenance and spare parts of V6 cars are another thing entirely.
Don't we have spare part for v6 cars in nigeria? |

Sweet T: No be Ibo man? I'm not surprise at all. I remember when i was in high school, there was a family friend of ours, Mr. Ngozi. This man enjoyed slapping his daughter in Public. The girl got so used to the slapping at the slightest provocation that every time she calls her Dad's name in public or ask him a question she closes her eyes expecting to be slapped. I used to feel so bad for that girl. Upon several pleads and warning from my Dad, the man refused to quit the bad habit. Rhino.5dm: ^^ yes! Igbos are savages and very cruel to their wives. They always regard them as 'my property' owning to the huge amount they invest in marrying them.
If you are not lucky their business runs dry. The use you for money rituals.
What a crude Animals! Ibo men slap their wives. Yoruba Obas violate corp members. Hausa men marry infants. Must you base everything on TRIBE |

The power situation in the country with the current trend is far from being solved unless GEJ decides to face fact which he will find difficult to do at least in the next one year because the biggest contributors to his election campaign are contractors, manufacturers and consultants in the power sector where a bulk of the nations budget is being sunk without commensurate level of delivery.
You bring in another person's opinion as fact for us to debate on. I believe you need a wikileak to get more fact on how to nail your worst enemy, GEJ. YOU NEED TO STOP THIS PROPAGANDA. |

Withheld: At Madonna and Caritas universities, students (adults) are treated like caged animals. You will not believe that fellow undergraduates will knell a fellow student down or give him or her some sort of punishment in the name of being school functioneries. If you do not resume on the date the school reopen you will pay between 5000-10000 Naira per defaulting day. Students are not allowed to use camera or video or internet compliant phones. There is no form of social interaction between the students especially males and females as they are suppose to maintain decent distance, how do they intend to make them normal human beings yet the schools are very expensive. You require exeat to leave the school. The exeat is given to guys on different days while they give to females on much later day to avoid collusion. Its a pathetic situation. Yet one student told me a reverend father indecently approached her. At the university gate gatemen harass visitors and students not to go too close to visitors. I hope you did not just sign in to spew rubbish. What is the relationship between the topic and what you just put down. Better get your facts right before you expose your ignorance of "they said, they said''. |
