AutosRe: The Best Car U've Driven by FindOut(m): 7:34pm On Nov 08, 2010
This thread is almost 3yrs old,but i feel the need to revive it smiley It would be nice to hear from NLers on this topic. For me, I haven't driven too many cars, don't own one yet, but so far, Its an '04 HONDA ACCORD.The handling is solid & its quite fast. I have'nt driven a late model Benz ,or BMW or Audi, but I'm fairly certain d E.O.D will be displaced once i get me hands on any of those german machines, lol
AutosRe: Alabi4good/ademlabi: A Dishonest Car Dealer by FindOut(m): 3:26pm On Nov 08, 2010
Fellow Forumites,
It's so easy to jump behind my computer, or pick up my mobile phone, log on to Nairaland, and create any topic I so desire in the auto section, & since nobody gets to 'approve' my topic, in a few minutes, its out there for the world(over 600,000 forumites) to see, Inspired,german007,Kunle-A e.t.c., are respected dealers on this forum. I could just wake up & create a thread tarnishin anyone of them's image by posting lies, or half truths, or suspicions. A lot of damage could be done to their reputation just because of a topic I started.
I have to say I passed by this thread without viewing at least 5 times before I decided to open it, but i am quite sure that many people won't even bother to open the thread, but just pass by with d mindset of "Ademlabi is dishonest". I have seen quite a number of cases on this section where dealers were accused, but later vindicated, but who knows how many potential clients they might have lost during that processhuh

During the recent case of Ayusman vs Banix, someone (BizBooks i think)made a suggestion of an arbitration section here on d auto section, I'm not sure if anything has been done in that regard. I think Monitor 1 & Seun should see that dis is created fast, It'll serve as a "police station" where clients can take their complaints if unfairly treated. If the dealer doesnt respond quickly(tume frame to be determined by Arbitrator), or from his response,it is clear that he us dishonest, then a thread can be created or a sort of "public notice" releases from the arbitrator pertaining to the dealer for the whole world to see. Sure enough, the arbitrators will have their own thread & anyone interested in doin a "background check" on any dealer can go in there to see whats happenin & may even xontribute to any current cases going on.
This is just a forum, yeah, but lots of deals worth millions are sealed here so there should be some form of law & order, there is anyway, coz we have moderators,we have rules,, But more can be done not only to protect customers, but also to protect the dealers. Thank usmiley

@G.B.T., thx a lot for d advice. For most cars manufactured after year 2000, I also think d diagnostic device must be used on them before any mechanic begins to tear d engine apart, cheesy

Hi NLers, pls I'll like some info especially from present or past users of these vehicles on the factors mentioned above. These cars are beautifully designed in & out and are priced quite reasonably, But I'll like to know more about these cars, especially as regards using them here in Nigeria. My dad used a volvo 240GLE for over ten years before giving it out & d car was quite rugged. But I want to know if these new models are really "chips of the old block" smiley .Any other info concerning these cars is welcome.
Thanks.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi Lamido Faults Sir Olaniwun Ajayi On Northern Domination by FindOut(m): 10:17am On Nov 06, 2010
martiniflo:
God knows i never liked dis sanusi how can we ave a vibrant economy, when we put somebody who studied arabic in charge of our CBN
He has a degree in Islamic studies, not arabic lang. & i see no reason a man who spent many years in UBA as a senior staff, before moving to First Bank, where he rose to become the GMD/CEO, cannot become a CBN governor. Many of those who were screamin "Northern Agenda" last year are beginnin to shut their mouths when they have seen the "southern agenda" Ibru,Akingbola & co. were demonstratin at their banks. It's very likely that if Ibru especially wasn't stopped at that time, through her removal, Oceanic bank might hav ceased to exist today(source: a former senior staff @ Oceanic who scampered to Zenith just before Sanusi stepped in). So pls, its OK to hav issues wit his policies & not his educational qualificatns, Oh,did i forget to add that he also has an M.Sc. In Economics, something u didnt add either out of ignorance or malice.

I have a feeling that most of those clamoring for Nigeria's break-up on this forum are not resident in Nigeria. Why? Lots of people & GOODS move from one state to the other everyday, from the north to d south & vice versa. Among the ordinary people, the common traders who sell their goods, the tanker drivers, the university undergrads, there is a general feeling of ONE NIGERIA. There is freedom to associate,to sell, to buy, and to even quarrel!! In spite of the bad leadership issues we've had in Nigeria, not only at d federal level, but also at d STATE level, i do not think dese people are ready to have ''National'' boundaries & borders within our small Nigeria (Forget d populatn for now & consider d size in assesing my use of d word 'small'). Besyds, many states in ds country are dependent on other states other than themselves for some sustenance. Imagine how 'good' it sounds for 'Odua country' to import tomatoes & cows from the 'Federal republic of Arewa'!!!, with all d taxes, import duties, blablabla, Sounds funny rite, but that's wot might likely happen shld Nigeria break up. I have a friend who used to express the views that Nigeria shld indeed break up, She had a rethink when an incident happend in Lagos about a year or so ago, What happened? Because of d many road blocks & illegal fees which were(still are,i think) extorted from trucks bringin in commodities from the North, our ''illiterate, wicked, barbaric & annoyin(abi?)'' mallams refused to bring food items from the North to sell in Lagos (cant rememba if oda s/westrn states were affectd) . The consequence was that for about a week or more, several ,i mean SEVERAL families in Lagos had no pepper to cook with in their homes coz none was available in d market. That experience alone made a lot of people realise that Nigeria's break up will have adverse effects on a large proportion of its citezenry.
So, Sanusi is very right IMO that we shld work together to build a greater Nigeria, instead of lookin for reasons to secede or break away,or breakout or tear away, woteva.lol.

Dis Guy:
this is what i have been saying all these Hausa/Mallams should be vetted properly before entering the senate or natuional assemble can you imagine, one useless mai goro trying to nominate yaradua for nobel prize and many of these cattle hersers actually supported him?!?!?! tongue
cheesy
Please try to finetune your mindset towards seeing things from a clear perspective rather than thru religious or tribal lenses, coz it doesnt do the country any good.I'm sure at least one,if not all 3 senators representing your state is/are also corrupt.I'm a southerner but there's no reason to make d issue a north/muslim thing

PoliticsRe: Fasheun's Response To Sanusi: Must Read by FindOut(m): 10:28pm On Sep 08, 2009
Pls people like Dr. Fasheun should stop distracting the CBN gov.10k God for the kind of man Sanusi is anyway.Going through that article by Dr. with an unbiased mind, its easy to see that that article wasn't written in good faith.OPC,please reduce the threats alarms and ultimatums u r issuing and focus more on the true development ot the yoruba. Why was he hugging Bamaiyi? Why did he attend Abacha's memorial?are we now to accuse he himself of hidden agenda?or was he showcasing the mindset of most yorubas by those actions?the same Abacha who killed Kudirat, who incarceratd her husband MKO for years, now u r criticizing someone who is taking actions in yours and my best interests, gimme a break.Sentiments is what turned this nation to what it is today and if we dont get rid of these sentiments,if we dont stop crying islam agenda, xtianity agenda, north, south blablabla,Advancement is still farther from us than we think.Lets wait and see as regards Sanusi. The man is a good man and dont hate him because he's a northerner or a muslim, hate him for a gud reason and also not for an article which someone has delibrately or not, quoted out of context in order to add more followers to his hate campaign trail angry.
