Car TalkRe: Why Do Nigerians Avoid Diesel Cars When Buying A Vehicle? by FindOut(m): 7:04pm On Sep 21, 2013
Ikenna said something earlier which may be quite funny to many people but is actually true. If Americans had been using lots of diesel engined vehicles in the past 10 years, there's no doubt that that Nigerian roads would have been full of them now. Now though, as more americans are becoming a lot more conscious about MPG numbers, the diesel engine fan base is increasing...especially with Volkswagen, who appears to be the automaker that has the highest number of diesel engined cars on the market.

Diesel engines USED TO BE relatively slow compared but to their petrol counterparts but modern day diesel engines are not slow, especially the recent CDis (?) & TDIs found in MB & VW respectively. Plus they are very fuel efficient too such that despite the increased pump price of diesel, it MIGHT still be cheaper to run a diesel powered car in Nigeria.

FACT: Some diesel engined cars (notably the 2.0 TDI found in the latest model Golf, Jetta & that beautiful Passat) have similiar or even better MPG figures than HYBRID CARS....& of course they are pretty quick too.

Ayatullah: Inspector-General, congratulations, but I am extremely disappointed that you cannot make your wife comply with Modest Islamic Dressing. With False Hair, See-through Clothing, Exposed Hair...........It's your choice though, but it's not late to amend. Think deeply about it.
.....Actually, the IGP can only probably remedy the situation after marriage. The bride is from a muslim home............was born to and was brought up by muslim parents as far as we can tell. So..... who should the disappointment be directed at? Your guess is as good as mine.

Muslim parents have a huge responsibility on their heads....unfortunately, many do not seem to realize this.

DTaj: Confirmed bigot, my friend. Some people are just lazy, self-opinionated, prejudiced, and daft. Someone got married and the only thing some clowns are concerned with is the bride's age. For your information, the bride is 35. Lost generation...
Lol. That's people for you.

Siena: Update!

I realised, at the last minute, just before I boarded the coach that I'd forgotten to run a HPI check on the car. A good thing too - I paid for a check, and discovered though the car was in great shape, it had outstanding finance against it. There is a £6,377 loan outstanding.!

So while I can still buy the car, it means I will then be liable for the unpaid loan balance, in addition to any funds I'd paid the seller. It always pays to check out a car thoroughly.

The search continues - I've spotted another car, and run a check against the license plate, and found no outstanding finance marked against it. I'll call the seller tomorrow, and take things from there.
That's A LOT of money! shocked shocked shocked & the seller didn't deem it fit to inform you about this?? I call Dishonesty.

How much less Tompolo, a former militant who claim to be fighting the cause of his people who are mired in poverty and neglect, and was awarded a juicy contract running into billions of naira for surveillance of pipelines, and the large scale theft of crude oil. Even if he has a private jet, he will deny having it so as not to set tongues wagging and cast doubt over his agitation. You do not expect him to show to the world that he is only championing the cause of his pocket or to sully his reputation.

dem dey vandalize pipeline, crude oil dey miss, and a whistle blower claim say Tompolo buy jet and you expect him to admit? You go admit?

PoliticsRe: Amaechi Invites Jang Faction To Governors’ Forum Meeting by FindOut(m): 11:04pm On Sep 13, 2013
OdionOdion: If you were living in Port Harcourt, you certainly reason alike because things have fallen apart for Gov Amaechi, his propaganda of lies and deceits are working seriously against him and nobody can save him not the the APC nor the rebellious G-7
Look, we are not debating Amaechi's performance as governor here. Even if he is more incompetent than GEJ (if that is possible), the fact is that GEJ's crew are wrongly harrassing this man. the police issue, the 5 members attempted impeachment, the Governors forum issue. What is bad is bad, no matter who is concerned and we should learn to condemn it. If Amaechi is non-performing, or corrupt, by all means, crucify him FOR THAT if you will but do not use that as a reason to justify harrassment from a fellow elected public official (& his unelected overbearing wife) like himself who, if it counts for anything, grossly under-performed when he was a Governor of an equally rich (in terms of allocation) & much smaller state than Rivers and who is also currently grossly under-performing as President.

Topsonluv: I WAS TOLD DAT MALES ARE EXPECTED TO PERFORMED THEIR VOLUNTARY PRAYER IN THE MOSQUE AND NOT IN THE HOUSE
No. It is the COMPULSORY prayers (5 daily) that males are expected to observe in the mosque while women are recommended to observe theirs at home. NAWAFIL (voluntary) prayers which encompasses al OP has mentioned are recommended and expected to be observed at home, tho there are some you perform at the mosque like the 2 rakahs (Tahiyattul masjid) which you perform upon entering the mosque if the compulsory salat has not commenced.

PoliticsRe: Amaechi Invites Jang Faction To Governors’ Forum Meeting by FindOut(m):
Make we see whether police will go and close the lodge or CP Mbu will fly to Abuja & mount roadblock telling the Governors to pass somewhere else for security reasons.

Of course, some Joe supporters will see this as an 'affront' and 'disrespect' to the president since they are still expecting Amaechi to go and dobale for their oga in Aso rock. Afterall, GEJ is his Oga who put him in Govt House.

Actually, it might not be a bad idea for GEJ (or rather through his minions like Akpabio) to send the police to harass the Governors sha since no one in Abuja has been smart enough to tell them that for every senseless action they take against Amaechi, they are only making the man more popular to GEJ's detriment.

PoliticsRe: Asiwaju Tinubu Down With Parkinson Disease - Paparazzi Press by FindOut(m): 9:38pm On Sep 13, 2013
Hmm.....Actually, I won't be surprised if this is true, though i hope it isn't, but then I wish him speedy recovery either way coz he's obviously quite unwell.

Health is wealth. Money is not wealth if not the rich will live forever.

And like the clerics always point out, everything in life is VANITY. The people who work hard for their money, the people who loot the money other people work hard for, those who do not own a single piece of land, those who own properties everywhere and have billions in their accounts, a day will come when all that money you think is your own will be very very useless and of no benefit to you. Those who fall very ill before their death get to realise some things among which are:

1) That there is a Higher POWER somewhere, a POWER that you cannot dictate to, who truly OWNS everything you think you have, and whose plans you have no control over, but rather He has complete and total control over you. All the Atheism you dey claim go leave you at some point.

2) That the money and wealth which IS TRULY YOURS and will be of BENEFIT to you is that which you lawfully earned and GAVE OUT FREELY & with good intentions for other people to benefit from. You are also struck with the painful reality that when you die, you wont be able to sign checks in the grave.

3) That if indeed there is a hereafter (by that time, it would have started becoming very obvious to you that there truly is, especially if you are just realising (1) above ), all the wealth and properties you illegally took from other people are a burden that will surely put you in a whole lot of trouble when you get to the other side.

Jagaban, I hope your time is not up yet, get well soon o, especially for the sake of the many ignorant followers you have who forget that you are but a human being and believe that you are the Alphabeta and omega of Lagos State. And I hope that when you do get well, you stop acting like you are indeed the Alpha and omega of the state. .

Psychophantic supporters of other fellow men, either political or religious should remember that the people they mumu-ishly (in many cases) follow and defend even against their own conscience are but fellow men like themselves. All of us will still face that period, that day, at the very least that hour, or even minute when we will be totally helpless no matter what we think we have and at be solely at God's mercy.

Wetin cause this my long sermon? no be really because today na friday o, but having lived in Lagos all my life until very recently, and being a bit more familiar than several people to what goes on at Alausa & Lagos generally, right from Marwa's administratn to Fashola's current term, I sincerely hope Bola Tinubu recovers quickly. He has A LOT of AMENDS to make.
PoliticsRe: Ex-militant Tompolo Buys A Private Jet by FindOut(m):
At least, we know where part of our our missing 25% or is it 33% of our daily crude oil production (lost in form of theft) goes to. Of course, we know a huge part of it is being saved to stockpile arms ahead of 2015.

To the m.oro.ns supporting these crooks and their principal in Aso-rock, my question goes thus:

We keep hearing it is "your money" since afterall, it was you people who dug the ground and put the crude oil under it. No problem.

NOW, CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW THE LIFE OF THE COMMON MAN IN THE NIGER DELTA HAS BEEN IMPROVED SINCE JONATHAN GOT TO POWER??

Criminality is being rewarded with billions, while the poor continue to be poor. Imagine the superior m.oro.n called Asari_Dokubo saying something to the effect that the common niger-Delta man is happier now just because Jonathan is president. Will happiness send the kids to school or put food on the table?

The corruption in the niger Delta is principally what is responsible for the sorry state of that place today & unfortunately it has worsened under Jonathan. before, only the Governors, NDDC people and overfed agbayas like E.K. Clark & co were the corrupt ones. They had (then hungry) thugs like Dokubo, Okah, Boyloaf & Camp 5 Commander Tompolo & co to check them in to some extent. Now, rather than do what is right for the people, the government decided to formally bring in the thuggish "noisemakers" to Abuja and stuffed their mouth with billions & that is why today, Asari Dokubo has forgotten all about "struggle for my people" and is now focused on "GEJ must win or there will be bloodshed".

Anybody, PARTICULARY FROM THE SS / SE who campaigns for GEJ in 2015 needs to have his/her head checked Period. Action is what is needed & not sentiments. If you have a more qualified candidate from the SS who shows promise & looks like he can deliver, by all means, bring him in. If it is a northern candidate who appears more qualified and really connects with and is ready to improve the lives of nigerians everywhere including the ND, vote him in. If its a SWerner, vote him. "Our son" GEJ has done nothing for the ND. Enugu airport in Enugu, & that is something to brag about after 2 years & billions of dollars in revenue later ? Rubbish.

When Tunde Bakare said GEJ's destiny was to bankrupt Nigeria, many thought he was lying. Fresh air o!

The small change (only 9 billion dollars pere) we have left in the ECA has been depleted by a further whooping 50% between December and now. Wetin go remain by by next January? Debit? Issorite.

Without mincing words, anyone who votes or even campaigns for GEJ in 2015 is an enemy of Nigeria who does not care about this country and its people. PERIOD. Worst thing is the hungry folk screaming "our oil", "our son" are even poorer than they were in 2011 and the politicians are already stashing the billions out of which they'll use a fraction of it to buy them guns to kill each other in 2015. Nonsense. GEJ is one of the worst leaders to have ever ruled Nigeria since independece. IBB will soon start becoming a saint compared to GEJ. This man is not fit to be the VC of a University! But he'll have enough time to reflect on his life when his mumuness and corrupt life lands him in prison which should be in the not too distant future.

All those who are relying on guns and bombs to win 2015 will themselves be killed by those guns and bombs before they get a chance to perpetrate their violence on the long suffering (even if largely unthinking) Nigerians.

It won't come for free obviously tho. A significant portion of the extra billions Fashola is seeking for in the budget will of course go to LCC and by extension Tinubu. But its better to end the slavery now abeg. Opuiyo Oforiokuma can happily cash out and probably start entertaining thoughts of governing Bayelsa (or where is he from) in 2020.
