Former Governor of Enugu State not above the law, must pay for demolishing my house – Arc J.J Emejulu



Enugu Airport Road Layout Phase IV and V has become under contention since its ownership was first challenged in 2015. Since then Arc J.J Emejulu who bought the land from its former owners, Umuenwene Iji Nike Communities has gone through tough times to keep his property.
In this interview with journalists he narrates his ordeals and persecutions including demolition of his house in the course of the land tussle pointing accusing fingers at former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Q: Arc J.J Emejulu, can you in brief tell us all you know about Airport Road Layout Phase IV and V?
ARC EMEJULU: These two Layouts were bought from Umuenwene Iji Nike
Community in 2008 by me.
In the year 2015, Mr. Cornelius Nnaji, then Chairman of Enugu East Local
Government Area claimed that Airport Road Layout Phase IV and V were wrongly sold to me by Umuenwene Community; that the land belongs to Umuchigbo community.
The two communities went to court and came out with a judgment that affirmed Umuenwene Community as the rightful owners and that the layouts belong
to me. This was my first judgment on the layout in Suit No. E/247/2015 by Justice
R.O. Odugu.
Not satisfied with this judgment, Hon. Cornelius Nnaji and Hon Edward Ubosi
brought in the State Government into it and some of Governor Ugwuanyi’s
Commissioners entered the layout and started selling and building houses forcefully and demolished 25 duplexes nearing completion claiming that I was building on Enugu State Government land. I reported the sale of many plots to EFCC Enugu and all those community members that sold the land to me were all invited by EFCC including Igwe Julius Nnaji, Hon Cornelius Nnaji and Hon. Edward Ubosi. After a thorough investigation, EFCC came up with a report that the layouts belongs to me.
For the malicious damage of my 25 duplexes by Enugu State Government
functionaries including Hon. Cornelius Nnaji and Hon. Edward Ubosi, I took the
case to Police Force CID, Zone 10, Abuja. They claimed that the land was Enugu
State Government land, so Governor Ugwuanyi went there and commissioned free trade zone, all in a joint bid to wrestle the land from me. They camped two armed policemen there and brought one Empower Energy Ltd as a contractor and even issued him a C of O on the land. Abuja police came up with their report that the layouts belonged to me and the IGP then sent his men and flushed out the resident police men on my land.
In 2015, all the people that bought land from me took me to court for selling
Government property to them. The issues were properly ventilated upon, official gazette of Enugu State published in 24th April 2014 confirming that they were known layouts by Enugu State Government and they were tendered also, a consent judgment was then reached that the layouts belonged to Arc. J.J Emejulu and that at no time was it a property of Enugu State Government. Enugu State High Court executed the judgment and issued me with a Certificate of Possession.
Yet, former Governor Ugwuanyi went to the same layouts and started erecting a concrete fence wall with his personal contractor claiming that the land now belonged to Enugu Airport, I took out a suit against Enugu State Commissioner of police and Inspector General of Police and on 3rd day of June 2020, an order of mandamus compelling the police to arrest and prosecute any trespasser(s). I moved to the layout with over seventy armed police men to throw
out all the illegal occupants and demolished the fence wall. But Former Governor Ugwuanyi brought in Air Force men with armed thugs and resisted my complete take over of my layout. He even invited the Aviation Minister the next day to give people the impression that he was defending airport property.
On the same day over seventy policemen were prevented from executing the order
of mandamus, he moved to my private residence in another end of Enugu, Trans Ekulu with over twenty vehicles loaded with thugs to “kill” me and demolish my two buildings. He met my childhood friend, Arc. Paul Ezeh who served with him in National Assembly and told him that he must “deal” with me and demolish my two buildings for having the effrontery to demolish airport fence. I narrowly by special grace of God escaped being killed.
The next day
his men came with heavy equipment and demolished my two palatial buildings
without my going out with even a pin. All documents, furniture and art works were
crushed the same day. I am a known Art collector for over thirty years (30 years),
buying art works from different international art exhibitions in the world. I lost over N6,000,000,000 (Six Billion Naira) worth of the paintings.
Hon. Cornelius Nnaji that brought in Hon. Ugwuanyi in my land seeing that God
was on my side, went to Enugu State High Court, Justice C.C Anih’s Court with his siblings including Igwe Julius Nnaji to nullify my court judgment with a motion
exparte claiming that what Umuenwene community sold to me was their immediate family land and never Umuenwene community land.
Hon. Cornelius Nnaji has been the master planner of the bid to take what belongs to me.
* He brought in former Governor Ugwuanyi first time to my land claiming that my security men were kidnappers when he was the Chairman of Enugu East L.G.A. The former Governor Ugwuanyi went to my site and arrested all my security men and declared me the chief sponsor of the so-called kidnappers.
* As Chairman of Enugu East, he was the person that made Umuenwene Iji,
Nike community go to court against Umuchigbo community for claiming that
the layouts belong to Umuchigbo instead of Umuenwene.
*Hon. Cornelius Nnaji brought the idea of my layout being designated as a Free
Trade Zone and single handedly brought in Empower Energy Ltd and made
Enugu State Government issue him with a C of O.
*He was the person that insisted that my second building and my giant statue
of Virgin Mary that was very close to my gate were equally demolished.
*It was this same “evil genius” Cornelius Nnaji that brought in Ugwuanyi and Edward Ubosi into the matter for I had settled with Hon. Ugwuanyi when I
gave him 20 plots of land which he accepted. He convinced Ugwuanyi to take the whole layouts.

I’m in so much tears right now!!!! Look at me just trying to do my business, and I just got scammed! Oh God tried to stop me but I wasn’t conscious enough!

It started with my card being declined and I reached out to Zenith bank on Twitter. I was told you add up a number on WhatsApp to chat with their customer care. I did and everything looked professional, honestly I had no idea that I was about to be scammed!

The scammer asked for my card details which I told him no, but he assured me that he is not a scammer. I sent it, but the card still didn’t work so I transferred my money to my dad’s account hoping to use his card, but the customer care kept disturbing me that they want to help me resolve it. I had to beg my dad to transfer back but he kept forgetting to transfer back and I was pissed!!!! I kept calling for hours till he finally did tonight and the customer care wiped off my account after I sent the OTP codes to him foolishly, thinking I was chatting with their staff!

After my account got wiped off, it was then I realized the mention on my Twitter was from a dorm account on Twitter!

I am in so much pains guys!

Most people will be shocked if they found out it's me, that is why I created another profile here. I'm ashamed of myself because I couldn't pay for my health issues


This problem started 2014 when I went to do abdominal scan, I was told to do some follow up on my heart. I did some test, the results was " *Mitral valve muscular obstruction with CCF"* I was told to do open heart surgery but I couldn't afford it then (#2m). I started using some herbs ( garlic, tumeric, ginger, etc) till 2018 when I discovered that my legs started swollen, I went back to UCH where the echo test said I have " *Constrictive Pericarditis* " with low BP I was told that they needed to do a bypass surgery to remove the water from the heart to make the heart pump well. I couldn't afford the money, I was given some drugs to reduce the swollen.


Early this year, my legs started swollen, which the drugs couldn't control the swollen again, it has moved to my stomach, if I don't use pillow to sleep, my eyes will swollen if I wake up. I was told in the hospital to go and do all the tests again for them to know the level of my heart and other organs.

I can't afford money to do all the tests. I have spent a lot of money on drugs. I'm begging you with tears in my eyes that I need anyone that has a laboratory that can do all the tests for me free or any cardiologist that can treat me for free, I'll really appreciate it.
