@nellspice

And what about customers who make bank deposits? You go mute, I repeat totally mute after payments and you let your customers do the frequent callings after payment. You need to upgrade your customer service. Its very poor!!!
Travel › Re: Wakanow Nig LTD Shabby Service. by fittty(m): 2:19am On Aug 14, 2013
Angeljay: First of all I'd like to say that given the fact that this is the first time we have an agency that is aspiring to be world class in Nigeria, we should give kudos to the founder of Wakanow for the initiative. I must say that some of us who are fast in condemning this achievement have very personal reasons.... If you are a competitor to Wakanow on this thread, let me plead with you to find other means to achieve market leadership than painting your competitors black, if possible learn one or two things from them and avoid their mistakes, that way you'll achieve your goals.

Secondly Wakanow, I honestly admire your initiative but I won’t say I am thrilled. I expected you to take advantage of Nigeria's notoriety for poor services, in order to achieve market leadership. Truthfully, I have never used your services but my reason for being on this thread is because I am trying to. I must say that I am quite reluctant because I am presently finding it difficult to reach your phone lines in order to confirm the validity of my bookings, before I proceed to pay. I also noticed that you do not truly have 24hrs customer service because yesterday evening, I was first in line for more than 30mins and had to hang up after wasting so much airtime. In addition to some complaints on this thread that seems genuine, I have therefore concluded that your biggest problem is Customer Service and I don't think you'll get it right if your Customer service department do not sit up.

If you incur debts for your customers by not responding to their request to change travel dates or attending to their bookings and payments ASAP, you are giving people more reasons not to patronize travel agents. In my many travels, I have noticed that the reason why some airlines or travel agencies are better than others is just because of the efficiency of their customer service... Nobody wants stories on a journey, nobody wants to spend above their budget on travel, unless it brings fulfillment. Even when there are issues every passenger wants to know that someone is on their case and is doing everything to the best interest of the passenger. For instance, even though I've had some unfortunate experiences with Emirates, I still prefer to fly them instead of their competitors. Why? Because anytime I call Emirates office, especially their headquarters customer service line in Dubai, I repeat anytime and without waste of time, they answer and they do something about my case. Even if I don't get a favorable result, that speed of response gives me the assurance that I matter.

Wakanow, if you want to get it right re-orientate your customer service on the potential of every customer at least that’s what IATA customer service program teaches. May be you should make those IATA courses a bases for employment and look for ways to ensure staff compliance. If you are having problems with your present phone company, change them or use several (at least that’s what works in Nija - to be truly mobile you must have MTN, airtel, GLO... God help us). Travel agency requires 24hrs prompt and efficient services... Ogas at the top, don't be bureaucratic, monitor your frontline staff and ensure they are doing things right if you want to make a difference in this tough industry (travel and tourism industry is not for the faint hearted).

Finally, for those on this thread, lets appreciate Nija content... and a word of advice to other travel and tours agencies, Nigeria is big enough for all, in fact you haven't taken advantage of half of the potentials of this populous nation, instead of wasting time trying to rubbish your competitors, work harder, be innovative and take advantage of the big market, maybe someday you could become a world class like those in the developed nation. If you keep saying awful things about your competitors you will lose potential clients to airlines.

So can you stop competing and give travelers reasonable information about using Wakanow.
I totally agree with you. Wakanow needs to work on their customer service. After making a booking they call you to speed you up to make your payment and after the payment is made you'll be the one calling and staying long on the phone. Don't you guys get alerts when you receive bank deposits with pnr? And why on earth does it take forever for them to reply emails?

AMAZING FACT!!!!

According to the American Psychiatric Association, until 1974 homosexuality was a mental illness.  Freud had alluded to homosexuality numerous times in his writings, and had concluded that paranoia and homosexuality were inseparable.  Other psychiatrists wrote copiously on the subject, and homosexuality was “treated” on a wide basis.  There was little or no suggestion within the psychiatric community that homosexuality might be conceptualized as anything other than a mental illness that needed to be treated.  And, of course, homosexuality was listed as a mental illness in DSM-II.

Humans are the only beings who are stupid enough to ask or even consider being gay as a sexual option. Think about every other creature on earth, how many of them are gay? have you ever seen a gay goat, dog, cat chicken etc? The devil is very tricky and its dragging humanity to the bottom of the chain with this scourge.

Kehinde Oseni: Good day house, i have followed this thread from part one and I have benefited a lot. My interview is slated for Friday 19th, I paid for my SEVIS fee last week friday via a friend in the US, the payment is yet to reflect. I intend to travel to Abuja tomorrow from Yola. I am a bit confused, rescheduling may be another option but I am not sure if I can get dates earlier than the resumption time (Aug 22) or dates for nextweek. I need your candid advice. Also anyone with an information regarding available dates please?

READ THIS:

bigfrancis21: TO PROSPECTIVE gre AND toefl TEST TAKERS:

It is no longer a hidden fact that gre and toefl test takers in Nigeria cannot register for the test online. Even someone registering on your behalf from abroad is banned once the test taker would still be writing in Nigeria.

Well, I have good news for you. Are you aware that you could still register for the exam by yourself, fast and at the lower official ets test fee? All you need to do is simply call ets and register! Its that simple. Just as you can call to schedule a visa appointment, so can you call to register for your gre/toefl test! If saving money is your priority, rather than wasting N50,000 needlessly on gre agents and enriching their bank accounts when you could simply do it yourself at the cheaper official gre price of $185(N29600) or at $175(N28,000) for toefl, then this option is best for you.

To register, you'll need the following:

1) Your gre account login details on the ets website. If you don't have an account already, quickly visit http://www.ets.org/gre to create your account. for toefl, you'll need your toefl account login details on the ets website. If you don't have an account already, quickly visit http://www.ets.org/toefl to create your account.
2) A valid GTB MasterCard. I can't really vouch for other types of debit cards because I've not used them before. However, I'm sure of GTB MasterCard because it never fails to work. Take note of the 16-digit card number printed on the front of the card, the expiry date (month and year) also embossed on the front of the card and lastly, the c.v.v code, which is the 3-digit code printed on the back of your ATM card. Have these details handy because you'll need to provide them to the agent to enable them make the payment over there for you. Of course, I need not remind you that you must have funds of, at least, the registration fee amount in your account for a successful payment.

After you must have done the above, then you're ready to go. call the ets registration Center on +31320239593. That is the phone number of the ets registration center or Region 9 located in Netherlands and it is the ets center, out of the 12 regional registration centers worldwide, in charge of registering Nigerians for toefl and gre. Once you call, you'll hear the voice prompt and wait to be connected to the next available customer agent. Once you're connected, the agent will ask you for your login details which will enable him log into your account and register you over there by himself.

First, you'll be asked for these details - first name, middle name, surname, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, preferred test center number and test date. Second, comes the payment stage. At this stage you'll provide the agent with your ATM card details to enable him/her key in the data and make the payment himself. Once successful, you'll be told by the agent and also receive an email immediately containing your examination e-ticket.

PS: Be sure to recharge, at least, N750 credit on your phone as you'll be spending some good quality time on the call (15-20 minutes).

Please, this is in no way a scam but rather, its one of the valid means of registering for the gre or toefl test as you'll see stated on the ets website:
http://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/register/cbt/
http://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/register?WT.ac=toeflhome_ibtregister_121127

However, only a few people know about this easy and cheap means. Two noble members from this forum registered successfully on Friday and this morning after telling them about it.

Success.
Kudos to all the guyz helping here...I'm planning to have my computer science undergrad study in the U.S...What are the requirements in terms of papers, docs and around what cost should I prepare...also I'd like to know how feasible the idea is. Thanks fellas.
Google search schools that offer your chosen course. Check their requirements. Then short list a number of schools that are closer to your area of study & availability of financial aids/scholarships/grants or any other form of waivers, Check school's rankings (it must not be an ivy league school) also consider school's location, cost of living, weather conditions. DO NOT apply to a community college.

Mail the schools and meet all application deadlines, take the standardized tests. TOEFL/SAT for undergrad and GMAT/GRE for graduate studies. When you are accepted into the school, you'll be requested to submit some financial documents, proof that student has financial support with or without assistance from the school. When you meet all requirements, an I-20 form(Admission letter) will be mailed to you.

Pay a $200 SEVIS fee at any ECOBank in Cotonou or Seme border or If you have anyone abroad, the person can pay through Western Union for you. NB: You'll need the receipt for your interview so, be mindful.
Visit the US embassy website to fill an online application DS-160 form

Visit any GTBank to pay $160 F-1 visa application fee. You'll be issued an MRV receipt. With all these things done, visit the US embassy website and schedule a visa interview appointment. And most especially while doing all these, read through this thread

Oakland Hit By Riots After Zimmerman Verdict

Demonstrators smash windows, attack police cars, start fires

Civil unrest is beginning to hit US streets following the acquittal of George Zimmerman, with demonstrators smashing windows, attacking police cars, overturning dumpsters and setting fires in downtown Oakland.

One police car was daubed with the words “Kill Pigz” as American flags were torched. “Kill Zimmerman” was also scrawled on the Alameda County Court.

Following a wave of threats to riot in major cities if Zimmerman was cleared of all charges, trouble flared up almost immediately after the verdict was announced late last night.

Unrest appears to be confined to Oakland for the time being, with more peaceful protests taking place in San Francisco, Washington, DC, New York and Chicago.

Twitter messages threatening to violently kill George Zimmerman continue to flood the social network.
