Got an invite ,couldn't meet up last week due to an emergency. Can i come in this week ? gbegeset: |
While the masses takes sides I choose to examine the impact of all this on the Nigeria power architecture, ever since return to Democracy, successive fed govt have used the immense powers granted unto it by the Constitution to armtwist the other arms of the govt to obtaining their goal. This has over time make every govt agency that ought to act in public interest become political good fortunes seekers of the federal arm of govt. I am so happy the lawmakers and judicial officers that are suppose to checkmate the excesses of the executive have also tasted what the citizens have been going through in this country. Unfortunately, the trend might continue with subsequent presidents until we have a legislature that can rise up and checkmate all these excesses through examining the constitution. For crying out loud, the powers to nominate certain officers like security heads should be taken away from the presidency and given to a sane legislature for the presidency to confirm. his allegiance will lie with the people not the whims and caprice of a single man. I'm surprised when people complained of CG customs leading a political support base of an incumbent to pray support, an IG flouting orders etc. What do you expect? So many cases of impurities , even the past govt was famous for unleashing DSS on opposition while another almost wiped a community away from the face of the earth. Until, we go back to that document binding everybody together and draft it to ensure that all this issues are addressed then the whole hope of getting out of this quagmire will be a mirage for years to come. |
To a discerning mind, Liverpool lost but important life lessons can be drawn from the match. Klopp obviously failed to learn from past incidents and surely had to suffer for it. Always be prepared for any circumstance, don't put too much on hope and believe all will sail through. The best all season might not necessarily be the best for the moment. I can go on and on but as a Liverpool Fan, i really have to prepare for this long lonely cold night. |
I didn't watched the show from the beginning, belong to the group that tagged the prog a waste of time. Curiosity later caught up with me and I decided to follow the program midway. To many people who found the result surprising and Miracle wining with Cee c staying after Tobi indicates they allow too much emotions into their analysis. Tobi being a huge favourite to win from early days from recordings I later watched made some bad strategic moves that started affecting his ratings throughout the show. he rely only on his personal charisma to deliver which could only took him that far. His media team didn't do well enough to mute the age issue too and couldn't define him with a particular motivating reason for needing the money via a vis his rich background. Miracle on the other hand defined a more compelling need for the money for himself. Managed his issues more maturely and focused on the wining Subletly. His media team did a wonderful job, associating his name with religiosity to appeal to a more religious country like Nigeria and above all he proved himself to be more of a man by coming out intact with his relationship. This worked for him as automatically a friend of nina become a voter for him. To further protect his stance, he didn't encourage gossip compared to others. I actually would have love to see Tobi wining due to his personal charisma but I believe a more deserving person won. |
I'm interested. Pls let's talk with regards to that. dikcom: |
I think you are indirectly referring to yourself with all the vituperative words mentioned below. Funny enough, people like you are more inimical to the improvement of our society relative to good Governance. I will not delve into comparing between Gov. Ambode and his predecessor because it has always been a subjective perceptive issue and still tentatively remain so till the expiration of his first term in office. This is when we can now seat back . do a retrospective performance analysis and also compare his achievements to his predecessors one term in office. Where you ran foul of reasoning and scored low on your argument premise was not lending critical analysis to your supporting facts. You mean you quoted all those as achievements for a Governor who has allegedly utilized N662.588Bn (71% utiliz.) 2016, N812.998bn ( 80% utiliz.) 2017 with an unprecedented current budget of N1,046Trn (2018) . Assume you gave all this to a company in private sector and he submit a scorecard as depicted below, will you accept this bullshit as achievements. to the most annoying fact of commissioning them with unnecessary fanfare upon and down. Any other state in South West can be tolerated for this performance in relation to resources but for this milestones compared to resources spent in Lagos State. It is awful and a smack on the Gov Ambode Team. A whole leader of a team with such resources going to commission a road Layby and calling DJ when serious projects are there. No wonder the overall leader came to commission a Bus- stop too.
You must have a very sick, twisted, and upside-down definition of the word failure for you to ascribe such to Ambode. ![]() That you fail to see or appreciate his efforts and strides in the state is your problem and not that of unbiased observers and Lagosians. For starters, your comparison of both individuals is grossly misplaced becase Fashola spent two terms while Ambode is yet to even complete his first. If you truly want to know about his strides in other sectors, Google is your friend: Ambode commissions 77 blocks of classrooms in Alimosho, Mushin, Epe, Others https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/11/ambode-commissions-77-blocks-classrooms-alimosho-mushin-epe-others/ Ambode commissions Block of classrooms at Agboyi-Ketu http://thenationonlineng.net/ambode-commissions-block-of-classrooms-at-agboyi-ketu/ Ambode commissions new classroom block in Ikorodu https://lagosstate.gov.ng/blog/2018/01/10/ambode-commissions-new-20-classroom-block-in-ikorodu/ Lagos offers free medical services https://guardian.ng/features/lagos-offers-free-medical-services/ Ambode commissions health facilities on Lagos Island https://lagosstate.gov.ng/blog/2017/05/11/ambode-commissions-healthcare-facilities-on-lagos-island/ Ambode commissions Lagos state DNA and Forensic centre https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/09/photos-ambode-commissions-lagos-state-dna-forensic-centre/ Lagos Commissions Primary Healthcare & Diagnostic Centre In Somolu https://topgov.org/projects/lagos/shomolu/primary-healthcare-diagnostic-centre-in-somolu/ Ambode okays reconstruction of Onikan stadium https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/09/ambode-okays-reconstruction-onikan-stadium/ |
After going through most of the comments on this topic, some are hilarious, ignorantly quipped and majority beclouded by sentiments. I found yours to be the most silly of all. You appear to yourself, thinking you are well educated on matters beyond your comprehension, seemingly delusional to others in perception. Haba, how can you come online and type all this romantic thoughts of yours on this space, expecting learned minds to flow along with you. The reasons quoted below for American invasion of countries is too shallow. Do more research bro. All this hype about Russia fighting USA will be COLD WAR. have you ever seen two chicken taunting each other with hackles raised and all the fluff? That's the best they can do to each other. greiboy: |
My president announced his intention to recontest and the Stock Market crashes. This movement in stocks reveal the perception of the credentials of Mr president by investors both local and foreign. This enough is okay for electorates to know how to decided his fate but my people na another kind of breed. Nigeria in the past have been used to human capital flight but in recent times, financial capital has join the fray. |
This country continues to baffle me, why do we all try to redesign a system already initiated to serve a purpose. We all continue to abuse and chastise our leaders not knowing they aren't foreign individuals but Nigerians too like us. We are just too greedy and self centered in this country, the same way one person will rep a constituency for more than a decade not wanting to shift ground for a new person. If you guys are really that patriotic and ready to work, why not clamor for permanency during Nysc while being posted to Borno Instead of thinking on how to exit the prog. Before it's expiration by getting something doing personally, you are writing epistle to a man who himself is another matter entirely. Let's live and let others live. You have been chosen for two years. By December, if you have not yet figure out your bearing, then I guess no palliative can help you. Other people dey Queue abeg. |
I pity your inability to secure a job for now, but it will come, trust me, your vitals are good. Though i find your choice of word in using depressed as alarming. Bro/sis, you have technical knowledge in areas that is needed at this time, though handicapped with exp. Find an accounting firm nearest to you to do few months internship with, learn fast on the job and advertise yourself, you will even be picking. Erase the mentality ICAN charter automatically qualifies you for job. It is really affecting a lot of people, thinking ICAN cert will provide job instantly. You need to have the experience to be absorb in some coys except you go in through Grad. Trainee route. This profession pay is based on Time and Experience. It takes time dear, you already possess a nice combo as a competitive edge, what is amiss is the exp, plan towards it and you will surely be inundated with jobs for your picking. pls cast away that depression, that only can even affect you in interviews or assessment centers. It is well |
on what ground should he beg, for disagreeing with Tinubu on many issues that meant well for Lagos State. muykem: |
a whopping N20bn, hummn all is well |
Una well done, make dem port hardened criminals come Ikorodu that is just recovering from Badoo Onslaught, U guys tried . I don't know what Ikorodu has benefited from this present administration despite it being in the same senatorial constituency with EPE and much bugger in terms of size. selecting EPE out for giant strides in development is very OBVIOUS Thus, Gov Akinwunmi Ambode on getting approval should cite those two prisons in EPE as it will afford the prisoners to be always on time for their court cases in Mainland Lagos courtesy of the good roads constructed by this present Govt. |
Honestly, anytime i come across info like this, i can't but wonder how set of pple in a generation could seize responsibilities so early in life and want to dominate the ruling scene till death and doing anything to prevent another generation to plan their own future. |
It is a good car but it depends on the mechanic you use. I won't deceive you if you don't have a good mechanic, don't try it ooooo. I currently use one and if i begin to tell you what i went through in the hands of both roadside mechanics and some auto-workshops here in Lagos you will be baffled. I would have love to introduce my mechanic to you but you are based in Enugu and he is based in Lagos with me. Majority of the car issues that will arise will be electrical issues, so you need a mechanic very versed in doing electrical and mechanical work. It is good for transport and strong/rugged, parts are relatively cheap to sienna. DON'T DO THE MISTAKE OF GIVING IT OUT TO JAPANESE CAR MECHANICS OOOOO |
Don't think he is referring to the bank, he might be simply referring to workplace in between sec. sch. and Uni. He is a mgt boy in the bank where he worked for being in treasury dept. He is in that house for a purpose. ![]() okk4sure: |
The author of the quoted piece below have a good message but has chosen to go along with the popular delirium " Unemployability of Nigerian Graduates. This is but a myopic view to me. To conclude, the author cited Nigeria's biggest problem as Unemployability and not unemployment. To further rein in his point, he quoted alarming percentage and measures to paint how bad the situation is. A foreigner reading this piece will just summarily conclude the obvious and store it in the subconscious to be used at will later. The question is Are Nigerian graduates that bad to the extent of being categorized as unemployable I will say a definite NO. The toughest challenge quoted that employers are facing right now is where to locate 'the right' employees is an exaggerated opinion, in this same country where Resources people battle on what criteria to use to eventually pick among many candidates qualified for a job position. This might not cut across all job roles but i can bet you place a Nigerian greenhorn with an outsider of same level on such jobs and watch who learn on the job faster. The author further point out their inability to fill new roles for over a year, i will ask him/her to also look inward, recruitment drive failures is not absolute on one party as there are lot of stories by HR's of companies on Linkedin painting scenarios of where they have also failed to spot the right talent under their nose. Many recruiters in this country also contribute to the situation we are. Where i also got alarmed with your write-up is your quoted empirical evidence , 99% of accounting, law graduates etc cannot bla bla This shows you have allowed your emotions to becloud your point of communication, which suggest a poor trait in decision making, a weakness that can disqualify you for a job in Nigeria . OR how will you justify such huge numbers of unemployability among Nigerians when we have people busy smashing records home and abroad which is verifiable either in academic, public or private sector. What majority of Nigerian graduates suffer is being exposed to a system that doesn't work, yet many are still not withering under this but thriving to make it by being resilient and win against all odds. Truth be told, with necessary guidance and available platforms for expression via career development,an average Nigerian won't suffer this denigrating remarks quoted but excel in all ramifications.
Dear Nigerian Youth, The toughest challenge employers are facing right now is where to locate 'the right' employees. We've been trying to hire three new staff for over a year. I've interviewed quite a ton of graduates of Law, Accounting and other Social Sciences. 99% of BSc Accounting holders are unable to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The majority of Law graduates cannot write coherently and have no legal research experience outside of their final year projects. One graduate of English/Literature has not read any book outside of the recommended texts in school. 99% of job seekers have no writing sample, no published product or past work that is independently verifiable. That means, Nigeria's biggest problem right now, isn't unemployment, but unemployability. Sometimes, you meet a job seeker with a charming personality and you try to stretch the rules a bit. You request for his/her Facebook profile to get a sense of his/her interests, passions and extracurricula engagements. You only find posts about sex, sex, sex, sex, boyfriends, girlfriends, crushes, and more sex. What a turn off! |
Honestly, the favor on this country is just too much. All this set of selfish leaders and yet this country still exits, Nigeria deserves to be a case study in leadership classes. What pains me is to see people engage in conversations that defies logic, if not that how will some people still post statements to defend this current dispensation. A ranking senator just make a revelation that a sitting government has borrowed 11trn in 3yrs and some still have the guts to be making references to a past administration inefficiencies. I think nairaland should change the dynamics of this forum so we can begin to Identify the enemies amongst us. if you are that stupid to still believe in a man who was nursed to health by state funds, propose the establishment of cattle colonies with funds only to suddenly realise the nation resources is lean for funding this cause, then I believe your salvation can't be redeem |
This is actually one of the issues that comes with social palliatives; undue reliance on government for survival. The contractual obligation that comes with the program for beneficiaries (2 yrs) was not hidden albinitio, with the objective of ensuring skills acquisition and a stipend for support . Volunteers should be/have using/used this period to acquire germane skills related to their field for seeking employment into various industries. We have even heard stories of volunteers who have secured jobs during this program but some are busy hoping for permanency while not doing anything to improve their lot before the engagement ends. The issue of stipend not enough/ posted to non relevant section of the program are all lame reasons, the probability of permanency is zero, don't disturb yourselves, better still exert that vigor on self improvement because December is approaching fast and if by then you don't have a source of income elsewhere, it will be a pitiable situation. Moreover graduates have been coping without the scheme, seeing the program as an opportunity to enter an over bloated civil service where salaries are still unpaid in some states for i know Fed. govt cannot absorb this size of workforce alone with the already budget deficit running in place. Don't also be deceived by some politicians raising your hope, election campaigns window will soon be opened and trust them, all sort of sweet words will flow. Infact your cries for permanency might even raised a point in a post impact assessment of the program, with critics pointing out that the objective of empowering beneficiaries has not been realized and such the program executed on a strictly volunteering basis. NO STIPEND. Thus affecting subsequent beneficiaries to be absorbed. Please brothers and sisters, make use of this window to improve yourselves either by improving your skills or learning a worthwhile venture before that STIPEND stops rolling. |
I can only say for business development unit. Send me a pm, will discuss with u further. |
hummn, all is well Daviewonder: |
While I can't comment on their job recruitment exercise I can relate with the security guards. I was at their office last year to drop a business proposal and the guy was just rude and too egocentric. From his directions in parking my car to questions asked on my intent with Ace, I had to leave with annoyance that day and take my business proposition elsewhere. if a security man who is at first level contact behaves that way, only God knows what lies within the company. I am actually surprised though as this doesn't relate with what is obtainable at Jumia, a company confounded by the owner of Ace. |
What if their is no N power, won't graduates survive . I advice verified candidates should just keep hustling and even assume the social intervention doesn't exist for now. Putting hope on the initiative, will just create unnecessary anxiety while N power collate and resolve all issues as a post claimed. I have a friend who is an existing beneficiary, he has stop searching for jobs since he started receiving the N30,000 stipend. I try my best to nudge him to reality but he is like there are no jobs out there. I pray by the time his contract with N power elapse, he won't be back to his initial position. |
Zedvance is into consumer finance and salary loans. Their info is online and Head office is at Ligali Ayorinde , Victoria Island, Lagos. Their pay structure is Ok and it differs for people based on experience and department. |
They are real that i can say about them. Their info is online, you can google about them to know more. Their test format is Logical reasoning. all the best. |
Op didn't ask if final posting to place of work will happen this month, he/she is asking about stipends. This goes to tell a lot about majority of present volunteers and intending ones philosophy about the social program. To answer your question, last communication culled from their social handles interpret payment of stipends to be when you make the final list and also input your correct bank details without no hassles. This is likely to be this month, my guess though not confirmed. Cheers |
If you are young and still a graduate with sponsorer, go for masters in econs or agric econs. Getting a good job with BSc agric econs without connect is slim, majority of the good jobs comes with reqt for MSc. You can also develop yourself professionally with progs like ICAN, ACCA, or CFA etc Majority of the opportunities you will come across ordinarily with your first degree will be marketing/sales in coys |
Good evening, Need your advice experts, I just bought a Nigerian Used Chrysler Voyager, Noticed that the acceleration was not all that smooth and was advised to change the transmission fluid which i did three days ago. Though i notice that the mechanic didn't change the Transmission filter. ever since then i have noticed the following; Whenever i accelerates high, the car gives a boff boff sound and the accelerator doesn't respond even while pumping the accelerator The car only moves fine if i don't accelerates much, just moving slowly. The engine compartment does overheating with the transmission fluid smelling as a result of high accelereration ( Is it burning ?) The gear changes perfectly though but slight delay from delay to park which my mechanic explained as due to my non used to that kind of gear system The brake light is blinking on. My guess can it be The transmissionn fluid i use, though i can't remember but i bought it around N3,500 The Tranmssion filter not changed when Oil was changed The brake system The gear Box, kindly help me sir, I will appreciate any information you can render to this regard. Thank you and God bless |
Nice one OP. I see the website going places if there can be consistency and price info of commodities listed reflect near market realities. This will be a long way to address dearth of accurate online info on pricing of agric commodities. Wish i can be part of your team though . really interested in this kind of project. Thumbs up agroplanet |
Accounting jobs abound much nowadays due to Government efforts to ramp up revenue base with tax. many companies are sourcing for accountants/bookkeepers to tidy up accounts, prepare Fin. docs ,relate with external auditors amidst other relative job deliverable s. I don't know your location but if you are in Lagos, prepare your CV, google online at least 15 audit firms for address and visit them personally to drop your CV. I can bet you with your result, getting a graduate trainee position won't be a difficult task anymore. Alternatively, if outside Lagos, look for a person with large followers on twitter to help u raise awareness on ur desirability for a graduate trainee position. Your result will draw out the desired effect. Better still, hook up with HR Managers via Linkedin to solicit for internship roles to get experience. On a last note, i hope u are chartered already or already on the program, that's a question u won't miss from HR guys due to your degree as you degree only makes you a book keeper. If u can make ur mail addy more professional, it will be nice peacenaija: |
Immediately i saw Tinubu among the presidential entourage to EU-AU summit, i knew something was in the offing. Atiku's resignation from APC literally signifies the beginning of the political permutations for the 2019 general elections. Tinubu is once again the new bride that must be courted by either sides . My sympathy to Gwarzo, this ain't the best time to probe Oando. This 2019 election as it seems, promises to be interesting to observers with keen eyes. |

. really interested in this kind of project. Thumbs up agroplanet
