MrJaay: Any NOUN student that is not doing his/her project now will be termed a lazy student by me. Simply because this semester that is currently on hold started January and no serious student should wait for the middle of the semester before he/she starts project procedures. Getting a project supervisor would have been done since January if that student was serious. I can authoritatively tell you that in my Centre, students are doing their project by interphasing with their project supervisors through e-mail. Lockdown is never an excuse for students not finish their project. NOUN is doing everything within its power to make sure the semester is still on. And fortunately, virtual exams are on which is a plus. The only thing is that NOUN didn't give more information on the virtual exams before kicking it off. They conducted virtual matriculation too. The major things left for the semester is for students to commence their physical examinations and for students that have graduated to collect their certificates. Although NOUN haven't gotten to where it should be, we really have to give kudos to them for where they are now. 2 Likes |

Samakus: You are right. I was employed last year too and when I divided my annual basic salary I was shocked because I had another appointment which was a bit higher than the federal appointment. Luckily for me, I was told that there are allowances that are accrued but not in the appointment letter. I accepted and I was glad I did. 2 Likes |

OgiPrincess: There was a memo that was passed that all students must write their exams in their study centre. It is only military officers that can write exams in another centre as visiting student with concrete evidence. Please stay in your centre till after the exam. |

Pegzzyg: Please contact your centre if your certificate is there. I got informed some certificates have been sent. I also confirmed that you can't go to the Headquarters to collect certificates for now. All certificates will be at the centre immediately after lockdown. For now, they sent some. So please try to confirm if yours is there. Thank you |

BaEnki: If you have done online application and no matriculation number, you have to wait till next semester. |
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Fkj202004: 10:47pm On Jun 13, 2020 |
BaEnki: The online application is still on but matriculation number can't be gotten now because study centres are closed. Collection of matriculation number will now be next semester. It is true that new students matriculated today. Those are students already with matriculation numbers. |

Tessyy1701: Are you aware there's still lockdown? Nobody is going to work. Even if they are going to work to prepare the certificates, they won't release it till after lockdown. Headquarters and study centres are closed, so don't expect your certificates now. It's not NOUN's fault because they have prepared all certificates and waiting for collection before coronavirus stepped in. Advice: Be patient till after school resumes and stop stressing yourself about certificates now. 1 Like |

Dennyjuff: A typical NOUN masters program runs for a year and six months, that is 3 semesters. But you can do it for a year if you can carry heavy workloads for 2 semesters. NOUN certificates in all study centres are the same and they are prepared in Abuja Headquarters. NOUN is accredited by NUC and every course have been accredited too. |

emror4u: Who nor go nor know. You will surely not understand that the lecturers that teaches everyone his or her profession is grossly underpaid, the same as all university staff. The best incentive you can give to a staff is pay him or her well and as at when due. Before ippis, I know people earning more than 130k as salary, that was January. Then ippis came, their salaries was reduced to 80k plus for February, 70k plus for March and less than 30k for April without any reason. Minimum wage arrears have been paid to other MDAs since December and tertiary institutions haven't received theirs till today. There are lots and lots of issues as this. Let the government treat her workers well and see if they will not be very productive. Instead, they pocket all the money meant for workers. Tertiary institutions have been paying tax before but on basic salary but now it is been deducted on consolidated salary without any explanation. Oga if na you, Shey you go happy go work abi |
