Building a startup is a quite challenging feat. From day one, it requires more than just brainstorming of ideas, the processing of important documents, and the spending never-ending expenses. Problems are encountered from every step of the way, even after you have already gone past the first part in making the company stand. Startups are not the only ones that get stormed with problems. Big businesses alike also encounter endless problems along the way. There has never been a business that has not gone through problems. But those that have survived have also risen to be quite a success. Problem-solving is not a trait that is inborn. Sometimes it is borne out of necessity or the sheer will to never give up on some things. It only requires patience, determination, and endurance. A good entrepreneur must not only know how to initiate ideas and create innovations; but also is ready to face and take on challenges that the business will be encountering in the future. If you are among those risk-takers building a startup, here are 3 worst problems that startups may possibly encounter and the solutions to them. Starting off with the wrong foot A business is started when a person or a group of people arrive at an idea for a good business that will give them multiple profits. Ideas can come in different packages. They can be original, having no other business like them, while others are small imitations of bigger, more successful ones where the only difference is adding in of features that are not present with the original large business. Ideas on what your business is about or what products and services it should sell are very tricky. It has to be carefully thought out and go through strenuous deliberation. Since making a startup takes up a huge chunk of your money, time, and effort, you would not want to spend large on something that is already doomed to fail even at the beginning. To get a better idea for a business, ask yourself what problems are people commonly facing today? Or better yet, ask that question to yourself. After you’ve listed them all down, think of the possible solutions that could have made solving those problems of yours easily if only you had the right tools to use. Many successful online businesses took off from solutions-based ideas. They came up with ideas that were borne from a problem. For example, ZenPayroll is a business aimed at taking the very taxing payroll process off their shoulders by providing the solutions. Google, for instance, was made to solve the problem of people who need help in their online searches. Your business should be something important, needed, and sustainable. Getting an idea for your business from an already existing one might be okay, but it may be harder to sell in the longer. You will have invest in constant innovation to make your business stand out in that market especially when the business is selling something that people do not really need. Working Alone This strategy can be very appealing to startup owners at the beginning. Since you do all the work by yourself and having no one to pay for handling things for you, you might be able to save much on the costs. While this may work well at the beginning, it will not be as breezy as time rolls on. As the startup fares, more and more responsibilities and work will need to be done. The workload now will not be as light and as manageable as it had been then. Just as a person cannot walk with one leg and no other support, a company will not grow and live long without a collaboration of a group of individuals. A budding entrepreneur will need the help, advice, and support of other people in innovating ideas, crafting new marketing strategies, and all the other important functions needed for a company to work. To be able to get your money’s worth, hire people who are dependable and are knowledgeable of the positions that you fire them for. Make sure that they are competent enough, and most importantly, they have the same or similar concern for the company as much as you do. If you think you already have the manpower but all you would need is to polish them to get to their potential, consider developing their skills with Leap Leadership. They offer leadership training and coaching for individuals and teams, so this would not only foster team growth, it can also help you groom future innovators and leaders from your own people. Bad marketing At this day and age, marketing is vital for the survival of companies. Poor marketing can result in poor leads that eventually lead to poor sales. Without sales, the company cannot be sustained. Research on effective marketing strategies you can employ for your company. You can hire competent marketers or turn to marketing mentors to help you find the right platform for your advertisements and know how to make your company searchable to customers who have not heard of it yet. Final Thoughts Although problems that startups encountered are not always preventable, there can always be a way to keep it from killing the business. When something negative arises, hold on to the thought that you will be able to get through it victoriously. Have the humility to accept that you have made wrong choices, but the determination to make things right again. It might sound like a personal mantra but it can also work for your company. https://www.acegoals.com/3-worst-startup-problems-possible-solutions/ |

With the rapid increase in the number of students that graduate on a yearly basis from Nigerian institutions, it’s no more news that jobs are getting fewer when compared to the labour availability. However, according to a survey carried out by MySalaryScale in 2017, some fresh graduates have still been able to prove themselves worthy of being employed by different firms irrespective of their “recency” in the labour market. This could be seen from the data gathered where many companies have fresh graduates with little experience in the field. The reason for this is not farfetched. Generally, one with little idea about a job or task can carry it out better than one without. That’s a simple fact. Now, if you are a fresh graduate or a student and you didn’t involve or intend to get involved in any activity while in the University or during Pre-NYSC period (volunteered or paid), you may as well have yourself to blame in the future too. This is because you will have to compete with so many other candidates who have done a job or carried out a task before or something similar. They will definitely be preferred. This is also a fact. The four reasons you should get an experience no matter how small, are thus as follows; 1) It gives you content for your CV A curriculum vitae commonly known as a CV is basic in getting a job in this 21st century. It gives your employer relevant information about you at a glance. While there may be different variation as to what constitutes a CV, there are however also some basic components that must be found in any CV. That’s Job Experience. For a student who was involved in industrial training, internships, volunteering activities or any other extra curriculum activities that can be categorized as a job experience, such student would have lots of content for his or her CV. Now imagine a student who didn’t involve in any of these activities, what would he or she have in the experience section of their CV? Of course, nothing! 2. It increases your chances of getting an interview As stated earlier in this article, there are more persons looking for a job than actual jobs available. Now, during a typical recruitment process, some specifications are required. This may range from different things including physical attributes, educational qualifications and job experience. Some, particularly state relevant experience in the field applied for. One who has never had any experience will have his or her CV removed. This is because he or she does not meet the stated requirements. This means, no matter how good you actually are, you may not even get an interview – a chance to discuss your abilities. So, a job experience, no matter how small it is or looks, actually gives an edge in getting an interview. 3. It gives you a story to tell your interviewer In the course of an interview, most of the questions and discussions will be a follow up of the content of your CV. One without any job experience at all, won’t even have anything to say to that regard. For example, if asked, “tell me a time when you were given a task to carry out and the time seems to have been limited?” For one who had involved in any job or task before, it is easier to remember something similar of that nature than one who hasn’t worked before. The difference will be clear. 4. It gives you a competitive edge in getting the job For fresh graduates, sometimes you may get an opportunity to interview with a firm even without any experience at all. No doubt. However, after the interview and every other thing, there is the tendency of the interviewer selecting the candidate with little experience than one without. It’s generally perceived that the one with little experience will be easier to train and may also bring better value to the firm than the one without. Conclusion It has been emphasized over and again of the need for you as a student or a fresh graduate to get an experience now, no matter how little it is. The reasons for all of these have been well stated. There are a couple of websites that advertise internship programs and other volunteering activities that you can engage in to get a job experience. Checkup MyjobMag for internship opportunities and volunteering activities. https://www.acegoals.com/four-reasons-must-get-job-experience-no-matter-little/ |

SalamRushdie:That's a good one sir. People do not know that giving someone a chance can turn out to be a blessing in the long run |
Thank you very much OP for this |
I asked my boss how the interview with one of my referrals had gone. He had delegated it to my senior colleagues. This was their feedback: “he lacks depth” “if we are to consider him at all, he won’t be worth up to consultant level” “i will not be recommending him” “he has been out of consulting in a while and appears shallow”. I told my boss that he should see him still and keep an open mind. My boss met with him and liked him instantly. Few months into his resumption he is suddenly the star of the unit, most presentations to our client board had to be made by him, he is a compulsory addition to new projects, he was dependable to a fault and even got accelerated promotions and benefits even I didn’t have and might I add he also became so close to the so-called colleagues who never thought he was worth the chance. Sometimes we sit on a self-created and praised pedestal thinking we are the master of all, but that trait alone blinds us to the potential of others. See beyond yourself and give others that chance that someone once gave you. Sirhethat12:There is always one something for everyone in any field of study. Get close to final year course mates, ask. Meet digital inclined lecturers in your department. |
littlewonders:Exactly! That's the angle I'm shooting from. Get skilled especially in ICT before you gain admission, during your school years, during IT, whilst waiting for NYSC, during the long break... My boss told me something. He said the IT companies are soon going to breakforth destructively as Africa is almost ripe and all these oil and gas firms will not be seen as haven for the best pay. There was a time Banks attracted great talents like mad, today, the reverse is almost the case. |
SO all, go get skilled in ICT today lalasticlala Seun |

Global headcount: 15,000 Adobe Kickbox: To encourage employee creativity, Adobe offers an “innovation in a box” kit that contains a $1,000 prepaid credit card, a Starbucks gift card, a candy bar, and a few instructions to any staffer who is interested in testing out new business ideas. The company has given out more than 1,000 boxes. 25) General Electric A return to its industrial roots: GE has undergone a massive transition in recent years, returning to its core industrial businesses, selling off pieces of its finance arm and doubling down on what it refers to as the “industrial internet.” The company is now focusing on turbines, aircraft engines and big data rather than credit cards and personal loans. Global headcount: 295,000 Leadership training: GE runs eight different leadership programs, giving recent graduates hands-on experience and training in a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, human resources, operations and finance. Some 25 percent of GE senior management graduated from a GE leadership program. So there, you've got it! One noticeable thing about the list is that Tech companies are making the rounds and doing big things while companies in the oil and gas sector are nowhere to be found. Coca-Cola did not make the list too whilst their arch rival. Pepsi is sitting boldly on the chart. The only Consumer Goods firm is Unilever and only one Healthcare firm made the list. Another interpretation of this list is that ICT skills are becoming important daily, starting from the most basic like knowing how to efficiently operate the computer and using the Microsoft Word Packages to the seeming complex ones like programming and writing codes. https://www.acegoals.com/linkedin-releases-top-companies-work-world/ |
Here's what you can do. Do not reapply immediately you get their message. Wait for up to a 3 days or one full week before you reapply. Your About Page texts are overlapping the text box for it. That is not good user experience. Some posts on the homepage are full posts. You need to cut them by adding the <--more--> tag Your Contact Page is without text at all. What do you want the crawler to crawl? Include some text. Be creative and say something about where users can reach you on social media. Include your facebook, twitter and Instagram links. The contact form should be the last on that page Finally, make sure each category clicked on has enough text and not just one post or empty page Then reapply after 3 to 7 days. |
taiwofawole:Sir, I disagree. The blog is hosted on Blogger does not make it a . Blogger is a popular CMS like WordPress. Countless adsense accounts have been approved for those using blogger as host. Even when you still have ..com, you can still approve adsense but it will be non-hosted i.e cannot be used on a .com domain. |
hardhehh1:You need a top level domain like a .com or .com.ng or .org or .org.ng |
Britishcoins:Easier and better with laptop or PC |
If you are looking to purchase Adsense, I have one I just approved last week and I'd want to sell. Contact me on 08069278385. Please, note that I will not have the method of giving you access to the account. Many are good hackers who take over the account in a jiffy. Instead, I'd prefer we do a face to face meet up and you see the account for yourself. I will give you a popular address (where I work) on the Island in Lagos to come see for yourself (I work with a popular firm) |
